Call function java in a href

Hi,
I use the servlet and I want to call a function that is in href.
for exemple :
out.println("<a href=# onclick="+ merde(request,response) +">test</a>");
void merde(HttpServletRequest request,HttpServletResponse response)
throws ServletException, IOException
response.setContentType(CONTENT_TYPE);
PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
out.println("merde");
Thanks in advance

Merde alors! You do not need our permission to do that.
However, don't be surprised to find that the method is evaluated on the server, when you generate the HTML output. It won't be executed on the client when the link is clicked. Or was that your question?

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem in calling the Java Applet's Function from Visual Basic. First, I'm getting the handle of the Java Applet and components of it using "Document.Applets(n)" which is a HTML function. I'm calling this function from Visual Basic. My code is something like this...
    ' // Web1 is IE Browser in my Form.
    Dim Ap,Comp
    Dim Bol as Boolean
    Bol = true
    Ap = Web1.Document.Applets(0).getWindow() ' \\ Gets the Parent Window.
    Ap.setTitle("My Java Applet") ' \\ Sets the Title of the window.
    msgbox Ap.getVisibility() ' \\ This will return a Java boolean ( true or false )
    Ap.setVisibility(Bol) ' \\ Function Syntax is : void setVisibility(boolean b)
    Here in my code , i'm able to call any function that which accepts Integer or String but not boolean. So, i m facing problem with Ap.setVisibility() function. It gives me a "Type mismatch error" while executing it. Can you please tell me a way to do this from Visual Basic !

  • How to call a C function calling a Java Method from another C function ?

    Hi everyone,
    I'm just starting to learn JNI and my problem is that I don't know if it is possible to call a C function calling a Java Method (or doing anything else with JNI) from another C function.
    In fact, after receiving datas in a socket made by a C function, I would like to create a class instance (and I don't know how to do it too ; ) ) and init this instance with the strings I received in the socket.
    Is all that possible ?
    Thank you very much for your help !

    Hard to understand the question, but by most interpretations the answer is going to be yes.
    You do of course understand that JNI is the "API" that sits between Java and C and that every call between the two must go through that. You can't call it directly.

  • Calling a Java Function from PL/SQL

    Hi,
    I would like to call a Java API from a java class residing on the middle tier ($OA_JAVA)
    from the subscription code of a business event. The business event will have a
    subscription with java rule function as my Java API. And the business event will be
    raised from PL/SQL code using WF_EVENT.RAISE API. I want the Java API to
    executed SYNCHRONOUSLY without deferring the event. Can you please provide
    pointers to this.
    Regards
    Ramesh

    Documentation here: http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/java.101/b10983/datamap.htm#sthref185
    says JPublisher can publish records too.
    But when I change the example given at http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/java.101/b10983/datamap.htm#sthref190 as following:
    PACKAGE "COMPANY" AS
    type emp_rec is record (empno number, ename varchar2(10));
    type emp_list is varray(5) of emp_rec;
    type factory is record (
    name varchar(10),
    emps emp_list
    function get_factory(p_name varchar) return factory;
    END;
    then I see <unknown type or type not found> at sql or java files generated. Any ideas?

  • Duration of an Abap Function call from Java using Jco3

    Hi guys!
    I would like to use this discussion to get some refernces of the duration Timespan of an RFC call from Java to SAP. At the moment, i need at last about 200ms to call the Abap function. I'm just using one simple import and export parameter (so no deep structures). I think that the reason for my poor performance is, that the Java Tool and the SAP instance are not in the same network. So, i hope some of you have some data, how fast an RFC call from Java using Jco can be executed.
    greetings, Hannes

    Hi Hannes,
    I think you have already got the answer to your question - the network set-up you have is probably the bottleneck.  Whenever I've worked with Java <-> ABAP and they are in the same network, I've had no performance problems at all.
    Does your RFC contain any complex logic or business processes?  Are you able to try and call something that does nothing, say it just accepts an input string and returns it straight away as an export.  Do you have any scope for testing with your Java tool on the same network as the SAP system?
    Cheers,
    G.

    Hi Monoj,
    A few questions:
    - What OS is Siebel running on?
    - What version of the Siebel connector are you using?
    - Which libdnd.so file are you using?
    - What's the contents of your dnd.parms file?

  • Calling a java function from xquery

    Hello,
    I'm pretty new to ODSI and xquery, so forgive me if what I'm asking is too trivial, but I need to find a way to call a java function from inside xquery. I know xquery can do this through external functions, but can't find any example on how the query prolog declaration should be, nor how the function should look like. Could someone enlighten me?
    Thanks,
    Pedro Ivo

    You can do this 2 ways that I know of (Mike probably has more ideas too)
    1. Register an inversion function:
    [How to use an inversion function|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13167_01/aldsp/docs32/dsp32wiki/Using%20Inverse%20Functions%20to%20Improve%20Query%20Performance.html]
    2. Create a physical data service based on a java function. I have used this approach for both custom JDBC database operations and straight Java processing, with pretty good results.
    Good luck,
    Jeff

  • Call a Java Function From Abap

    Hi, I need to call a java function from ABAP,  I have a WAS 640 to deploy the module.
    I have found this tutorial...
    [ABAP calls Java via RFC|/people/thorsten.franz3/blog/2008/11/21/abap-calls-java-via-rfc-1-introduction]
    The problem is that it uses a newer version of WAS and it implements EJB 3.0 wich only works on Java 5, but my WAS has java 1.4.2.
    Anyone knows how to adapt this Blog to a WAS 640 version ?
    Or Perhaps there is another way of doing this, maybe publishing my function as a web service.
    Regards.
    Mariano.

    Why don't you expose your Java functionality as a Web Service and consume it in ABAP program. That should be much easier and the web service can be used in other places as well.

  • Call a java function on retrieval

    Hi,
    Is it possible to call a java function on retrieval from a member formula or may be business rule. Will it be more efficient than the member formula itself ? Currently our member formula on dynamic member is timing out.
    It'll be nice if you could point me towards some material to read on and experiment.
    Any pointers will be helpful.
    Thanks.

      No . It ONLY for stored member.
      I need reduce using DCALC
    >> Do you have any more detailed info on how to deploy this and how to call this in member formula or calc script
      Just now i don have any detailed document for this. But
       1)  You need to know about Essbase Load Rules, Maxl Load Data, MDX data retirvies.
       2)  You need advanced PL-SQL experience for using it

  • Calling a java script function while page loads in ebiz

    Hi OAF gurus,
    I have a requirement of Calling a java script function at each OAF page renders or Loads.
    I.e. when any OAF page loads or render in Oracle e-biz i have a java script function which needs to be called Is there any way to implement the above mentioned requirement.
    Many thanks in advance..
    Sourav

    Hi!
    From OAF classes java doc:
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAPageBean
    A class for processing and rendering HTML pages, designed to be invoked from either a JSP page or a servlet.
    Allows you to:
    Validate a user's session and redirect to a login page.
    Set the servlet Response content type to the correct character set as defined by the ICX_CLIENT_IANA_ENCODING profile. (The character set should NOT be set in the JSP page ContentType declaration.)
    Parse a HTTP Request and initialize BC4J application modules and view objects. (For HTML post, apply the content of the submitted form parameters to view objects.)
    Render a HTML page header and body
    It has 2 metods:
    public void renderDocument()
    Renders the HTML document. This is the most common API invoked by JSPs or servlets, and is used to render both the HTML header and body.
    renderBody
    public void renderBody()
    Renders the HTML body only.
    I think you can decompile this class or get the source from oracle and add your javascript code into this method.
    When OA page rendered, your code would be added to avery page, i think
    But it's some kind of hack or something ;-)

    A proper designed application in the database tier is far more scalable and performs better than using a separate middle tier for the application.
    This should be self evident.
    A middle tier requires more moving parts between the application and data. There now sits a network pipe between application and data. There are more software layers that slows down the interaction of the application with the data - more stuff that can go wrong. More stuff that needs to be maintained and configured and secured.
    What's more, the database tier is a lot more scalable than the middle tier. Oracle Real Application Clusters. Oracle Parallel Processing. Oracle Shared Server. Etc.
    These are robust and mature technologies.
    One major fact that seems to be missed by so-called IS architects favouring a middle tier is that the middle tier cannot make a single database query or transaction go faster.
    Scaling the middle tier is done by throwing more hardware at it. But not a single additional mid-tier h/w platform will make the database tier any faster. Will make the database tier scale.
    Then there is also the issue of costs. A middle tier requires additional hardware. It requires support and maintenance agreements with the vendors. It requires middle tier software to be purchased. It requires a new set of skills to do middle tier development. It deals with different technology and different programming languages.
    Why? How can this approach be sensible when:
    - Oracle scales exceedingly well (and this scalability is not dependent on more h/w purchasing)
    - Oracle deals with a single programming language (PL/SQL)
    - Oracle supports high availability
    - Oracle supports redudancy
    - Oracle supports the complete application tier inside the database
    If you have problems now leveraging Oracle (as an application tier), then you will have more problems when doing it a middle layer. Why?
    Because the lack of experience/skill/knowledge required to make Oracle work for you, is not now suddenly negated and not needed when moving the application tier to Java.
