CAll method inside layout

Hi all,
         how can we call method inside Layout

Hi,
Layout is used for designing,
Code can be written in eventhandler, you can call the methods in eventhandler.
Please refer the following links for more information.

  • To call methods inside the same application is possible to use RMI ?

    hello,
    What I should like to know is if RMI can easily be used to implement comunication (calling methods) inside classes that are part of the one same application... This should be a restrict case to use RMI...
    The reason to do it come from the need to use the instance of a class knonwing it only as Object... This can be good to do if some code is used for general pupose in many different contexts.
    In this case you can pass to the "server class" a parameter 'o' of type Object (all the classes extend Object) of the "customer class" to get back informations if some elaboration happen inside the "server class"...
    This purpose is generally implemented with event listeners, but perhaps it could be done easily using RMI too (I dont know it...).
    Using RMI in this simple situation, don't should require anything of complicate (stub, .... mashalling parametres....) to have the reference to method of the "customer class" to call. The "server class" already recives a reference of the "customer class" how parameter of type Object, and the mame of the method too.
    I propose a simple thoeric example to explain really what I said before:
    Class Server {
        String methodName;
        Object obj;
        pubic Server( Oject o , String metName){  // constructor
            obj = o;
            methodName = metName;
            // some thing is done and, at last, the method callbakMethod() is executed
            callbakMethod();
        }// constructor
        public void callbakMethod(){ // this method have the purpose to call customerMethod()
              Class c = owner.getClass();
              Method m = null;
                  try {
                          m = c.getMethod("callBackMethod",null);
                         * // (1)
                          // I think that here we could have the possibility to call
                          // the method  customerMethod() belonging to class Customer..
                          // I don't know if it possible and  ...  (and if it is possible) I am not able to do it*
        }// callbakMethod()
    }  // class Server
    Class Custmer{
        public Customer() { // constructor
              Server s = new Server (this, "customerMethod");
        } // constructor
        customerMethod() {    // I would this method is called from class Server
            // do some thing.....
        }  //customerMethod
    }  // class CustomerMy ask is: it is possible to call customerMethod() from the Server class ?...
    If the aswer is yes, I wold know the sintax to use to do it, please.
    thank you
    regards

    RMI doesn't help you in the slightest here. You can just realize it all using local method invocation. All RMI does is to make that remote. If the objects aren't remote there is no point.

  • Calling Methods inside BPS Web Excel

    Hi,
    Inside the layout2.htm file of a BPS Web Excel BSP application, there is some javascript,
    layout_sheet.style.height
    and
    layout_sheet.style.width
    , which control the height and width of the input and output layout screens.  The code calls the methods
    <%= layout->get_width( ) %>
    and
    <%= layout->get_height( ) %>
    .  What I have done is modified the screen so it dynamically adjusts to fit both the input and output layouts into the users screen, independent of their resolution, since not everyone has the same screen resolution.
    In doing some research, there is another method,
    layout->set_width( )
    , that allows you to set the screen size for future reference.
    How is it possible to take a value from javascript and submit it to this method?  I have tried to set the javascript inside the parenthesis, but I get a compilation error then.
    I hope I explained this well
    Cheers!!
    Kevin

    Hello Marc,
    We modified the JS3.htm too. just to have the possibility to use an autosave function. For instance if the planner doesn't do anything for 5 mins then save
    This have to be done that way because of the architecture of the Web Interface. I mean Switching between frames means having 2 autosave timer if the coding would have been in a Text component
    Best regards

  • Calling methods located inside ActiveX objects from Java

    Hi folks,
    I understand that I can wrap ActiveX methods in C and call using JNI, but I am looking for an elegant way to call methods inside of Active X controls directly. There are a set of classes in com.ms.ActiveX package that allow this, but I am receiving a java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: initPolicyEngine at runtime. I can't find any documentation from Microsoft on this (go figure). Has anyone ever used the com.ms packages, or does anyone know of an elegant solution avoiding wrappers and JNI? I have sucessfully used the neva objects vendor classes, but I find them too bulky for mainstream use. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi,
    - If you use the package com.ms.* You'll need to run your application in the Microsoft VM (jview.exe).
    - If you run it inside the browser you cannot use the java plugin, and your applet needs to be signed.
    If this doesn't help, please provide the version of your msjava.dll.
    Regards,
    Kurt.

  • Calling methods from inside a tag using jsp 2.0

    My searching has led me to believe that you cannot call methods from in the jsp 2.0 tags. Is this correct? Here is what I am trying to do.
    I have an object that keeps track of various ui information (i.e. tab order, whether or not to stripe the current row and stuff like that). I am trying out the new (to me) jsp tag libraries like so:
    jsp page:
    <jsp:useBean id="rowState" class="com.mypackage.beans.RowState" />
    <ivrow:string rowState="${rowState}" />my string tag:
    <%@ attribute type="com.mypackage.beans.RowState" name="rowState" required="true" %>
    <c:choose>
         <c:when test="${rowState.stripeToggle}">
              <tr class="ivstripe">
         </c:when>
         <c:otherwise>
              <tr>
         </c:otherwise>
    </c:choose>I can access the getter method jst fine. It tells me wether or not to have a white row or a gray row. Now I want to toggle the state of my object but I get the following errors when I try this ${rowState.toggle()}:
    org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /WEB-INF/tags/ivrow/string.tag(81,2) The function toggle must be used with a prefix when a default namespace is not specified
    Question 1:
    Searching on this I found some sites that seemed to say you can't call methods inside tag files...is this true?...how should I do this then? I tried pulling the object out of the pageContext like this:
    <%@ page import="com.xactsites.iv.beans.*" %>
    <%
    RowState rowState = (RowState)pageContext.getAttribute("rowState");
    %>I get the following error for this:
    Generated servlet error:
    RowState cannot be resolved to a type
    Question 2:
    How come java can't find RowState. I seem to recall in my searching reading that page directives aren't allowed in tag files...is this true? How do I import files then?
    I realized that these are probably newbie questions so please be kind, I am new to this and still learning. Any responses are welcome...including links to good resources for learning more.

    You are correct in that JSTL can only call getter/setter methods, and can call methods outside of those. In particular no methods with parameters.
    You could do a couple of things though some of them might be against the "rules"
    1 - Whenever you call isStripeToggle() you could "toggle" it as a side effect. Not really a "clean" solution, but if documented that you call it only once for each iteration would work quite nicely I think.
    2 - Write the "toggle" method following the getter/setter pattern so that you could invoke it from JSTL.
    ie public String getToggle(){
        toggle = !toggle;
        return "";
      }Again its a bit of a hack, but you wouldn't be reusing the isStriptToggle() method in this way
    The way I normally approach this is using a counter for the loop I am in.
    Mostly when you are iterating on a JSP page you are using a <c:forEach> tag or similar which has a varStatus attribute.
    <table>
    <c:forEach var="row" items="${listOfThings}" varStatus="status">
      <tr class="${status.index % 2 == 0 ? 'evenRow' : 'oddRow'}">
        <td>${status.index}></td>
        <td>${row.name}</td>
      </tr>
    </c:forEach>

    hi, i need ur guys advice about my oop report.  its contain 2 class, lcl_main (main programme), lcl_disp(display report), lcl_update (upload report).  all 3 class defination as below:

    class lcl_main definition.

    class lcl_update definition inheriting from lcl_main.

      methods: update9700.
    endclass.
    the idea was, i planned to put all methods which will be access by lcl_disp and lcl_update into lcl_main.  i currently cofious to call method at lcl_main. currently i done as below, which if want to display (user will choose radio button display - p_view) i will create the object for lcl_disp and call all method in lcl_main and lcl_disp , for example o_disp-> init ... o_disp->loaddata .. and etc. the problem was if i want to choose the update , i need to object for lcl_update and call again the lcl_main with:  o_update-> init ... o_update->loaddata .. and etc. the code as below.
    the question , the programme can be successfully run with this method but i faced the problem when i tried to create a call method inside others method because at the START-OF-SELECTION i need to identify with object (lcl_disp or lcl_update) first.
    2nd, i tried to figure out how at the start-of-selection , i no need to repeat to call method init, loaddata repeatly for different class (lcl_disp and lcl_update). really need advice. thank you.

    Hello Sam,
    Go to the class CL_DD_DOCUMENT (trxn SE24).
    In the 'Attributes' tab, check for the attributes with SDYDO_ATTRIBUTE as the associated type.
    It gives all the available attributes.

  • Calling abstract method inside constructor

    what will happen if you call abstract method inside a constructor ?

    AMARSHI wrote:
    Then wat is the purpose of that object then.
    When u create an object then the control will move to the default constructor,If there is one. Not all classes have default constructors. Some c'tor will be called though.
    inside the constructor u r having an abstract method.
    But theere are 2 cases now:
    1 the top-level class is an abstract class
    2 the abstract class is an inner class.
    1. for case 1 , u cannot create an object ,so no need of having the constructor.Yes, you can create an object. You can instantiate a concrete subclass. The abstract parent's constructor is still called, and that c'tor may call an abstract method, which will be implemented in the concrete subclass, or some class between it and the parent.
    2.for case 2 u cannot have an object like:
    outerClass obj = new innerAbstractClass()I have no idea what you're talking about here.

  • How would I call a method inside a dll?

    How would I call a method inside a dll? Is it even possible in Java? Like in VB you would do something like this: XXX.dll --> XXX.Activate()... I have already loaded the dll like this:
    String xxx = "C:/WINDOWS/system32/xxx.dll";
    System.load(xxx);
    Please help?
    THX

    I've got another question.
    I've gone through the link you posted and a couple others that I found.
    I am able to create an interface using the windows kernel32.dll and go through an example I found.
    But when I try to use a dll that I have from another application, I have problems.
    Here is what I have for the interface.
    public interface IAiCamDeviceControl extends StdCallLibrary {
         public IAiCamDeviceControl INSTANCE=(IAiCamDeviceControl)Native.loadLibrary("D:\\IAiCamDeviceControl.dll",IAiCamDeviceControl.class);
    //        public long GetVersion( String s );
    //        public long Close();
    }The interface that works looks like this:
    public interface Kernel32 extends StdCallLibrary {
         public Kernel32 INSTANCE=(Kernel32)Native.loadLibrary("Kernel32",Kernel32.class);I thought that the problem might be using the path name for the library, so I copied it into the system32 directory.
    Still get the same error:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Unable to load library 'D:\IAiCamDeviceControl.dll': The specified module could not be found.
    My main looks like
    public class Main {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
    //          Kernel32 lib=Kernel32.INSTANCE;
    //          Kernel32.SYSTEM_POWER_STATUS batteryStatus=new Kernel32.SYSTEM_POWER_STATUS();
    //          lib.GetSystemPowerStatus(batteryStatus);
    //          System.out.println(batteryStatus);
                IAiCamDeviceControl camDev = IAiCamDeviceControl.INSTANCE;
    }The commented part is from the version that worked.
    All I attempted to do here was just create an instance of the interface.
    Any idea why I can't access the dll?
    The dll is the same one that is used successfully in VB, C#, and C++ demo programs, so I suspect it is a good dll.

  • Working example of WCF Data Services inside Layouts or ISAPI

    I have been struggling for hours getting WCF data services to work inside SP2013 Layouts or _VTI_BIN. I create a hello world WCF service like so...
    [AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)]
    public sealed class SampleService : ISampleService
    public string SampleServiceCall(string SampleValue) { return "Success"; }

    and everything works great inside Layouts and _VTI_BIN. I change the SampleService to this...
    [AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)]
    public sealed class SampleService : DataService<WSS_ContentEntities>
    public string SampleServiceCall(string SampleValue) { return "Success"; }

    Hi,
    Seems that you want to create a WCF Data Service, then I would suggest you follow the link below about how to create WCF Data Services, you can reference the SharePoint Object
    Model dlls if your need in your project:

  • How to call methods from within run()

    Seems like this must be a common question, but I cannot for the life of me, find the appropriate topic. So apologies ahead of time if this is a repeat.
    I have code like the following:
    public class MainClass implements Runnable {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
    Thread t = new Thread(new MainClass());
    t.start();
    public void run() {
    if (condition)
    doSomethingIntensive();
    else
    doSomethingElseIntensive();
    System.out.println("I want this to print ONLY AFTER the method call finishes, but I'm printed before either 'Intensive' method call completes.");
    private void doSomethingIntensive() {
    System.out.println("I'm never printed because run() ends before execution gets here.");
    return;
    private void doSomethingElseIntensive() {
    System.out.println("I'm never printed because run() ends before execution gets here.");
    return;
    }Question: how do you call methods from within run() and still have it be sequential execution? It seems that a method call within run() creates a new thread just for the method. BUT, this isn't true, because the Thread.currentThread().getName() names are the same instead run() and the "intensive" methods. So, it's not like I can pause one until the method completes because they're the same thread! (I've tried this.)
    So, moral of the story, is there no breaking down a thread's execution into methods? Does all your thread code have to be within the run() method, even if it's 1000 lines? Seems like this wouldn't be the case, but can't get it to work otherwise.
    Thanks all!!!

    I (think I) understand the basics.. what I'm confused
    about is whether the methods are synced on the class
    type or a class instance?The short answer is; the instance for non-static methods, and the class for static methods, although it would be more accurate to say against the instance of the Class for static methods.
    The locking associated with the "sychronized" keyword is all based around an entity called a "monitor". Whenever a thread wants to enter a synchronized method or block, if it doesn't already "own" the monitor, it will try to take it. If the monitor is owned by another thread, then the current thread will block until the other thread releases the monitor. Once the synchronized block is complete, the monitor is released by the thread that owns it.
    So your question boils down to; where does this monitor come from? Every instance of every Object has a monitor associated with it, and any synchronized method or synchonized block is going to take the monitor associated with the instance. The following:
      synchronized void myMethod() {...is equivalent to:
      void myMethod() {
        synchronized(this) {
      ...Keep in mind, though, that every Class has an instance too. You can call "this.getClass()" to get that instance, or you can get the instance for a specific class, say String, with "String.class". Whenever you declare a static method as synchronized, or put a synchronized block inside a static method, the monitor taken will be the one associated with the instance of the class in which the method was declared. In other words this:
      public class Foo {
        synchronized static void myMethod() {...is equivalent to:
      public class Foo{
        static void myMethod() {
          synchronized(Foo.class) {...The problem here is that the instance of the Foo class is being locked. If we declare a subclass of Foo, and then declare a synchronized static method in the subclass, it will lock on the subclass and not on Foo. This is OK, but you have to be aware of it. If you try to declare a static resource of some sort inside Foo, it's best to make it private instead of protected, because subclasses can't really lock on the parent class (well, at least, not without doing something ugly like "synchronized(Foo.class)", which isn't terribly maintainable).
    Doing something like "synchronized(this.getClass())" is a really bad idea. Each subclass is going to take a different monitor, so you can have as many threads in your synchronized block as you have subclasses, and I can't think of a time I'd want that.
    There's also another, equivalent aproach you can take, if this makes more sense to you:
      static final Object lock = new Object();
      void myMethod() {
        synchronized(lock) {
          // Stuff in here is synchronized against the lock's monitor
      }This will take the monitor of the instance referenced by "lock". Since lock is a static variable, only one thread at a time will be able to get into myMethod(), even if the threads are calling into different instances.

  • Can we use call method or call action in dynpro.

    hi all,
    In the view of a web-dynpro, can we call one action inside another action..?
    or can we call a method inside an action..
    if so plz help...
    thanks in advance,
    jithin.

    Hi Jithin,
    Suggest you that, you keep your logic in a method which you are using for create(event).
    the same method you can call in modifyview so that after you create again the modifyview will get trigger and then it fills your dropdown.
    or
    after create functionality is done then call a method to fill the dropdown.
    try to modularize your code using methods then you can
    re-use it.
    still you need any clarificatinos let me know.
    Regards,
    Mahesh

  • Calling method of a custom infotype from ABAP

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on an application where i need to call a method of a custom defined infotype.
    I have done this -->
    1. Create a custom infotype 9111
    2. SAP creates a class of that infotype ZCL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_9111
    3. Inside this method there are few inherited method which provide me functionality of insert , update , delete
    i want to call methods IF_HRPA_INFTY_BL~MODIFY,
    IF_HRPA_INFTY_BL~INSERT
    However when i call these method from abap report this method does not work.
    where as when i try to insert an entry using PA30 transaction it works.
    Does anyone know why does this happen and what is the solution?
    Regards,
    Ashish Shah

    Had the same problem (probably copied from the same program). The answer is that you need to commit the work at the end using something like
    * Commit
    CALL METHOD busilog->flush
      EXPORTING
        no_commit = space.
    Here is an example of my code for IT0002 which works.

  • Call function inside running class

    Hey All,
    i have a two question in classes.
    1- i have class and i called its before and its running on runtime. i need to call function inside this class from another class, but without call the first one again, because if i called it, it will run default class function again
    is this doable ?
    2- What super() mean ?
    Thanks a lot.

    this is the default call, and when i call the method by this way its will run the default class function before call the method.
    here my example:
    i need to call checkboxes  function in ChannelsMain class without pass by the grey script.
    Note: the call_cb is working and the trace is working
    so i now the class is running, i need to call the checkboxes without ( var ci:YourClass = new YourClass(); )
    package com.link
         import fl.controls.CheckBox;
         import flash.events.*;
         public class ChannelsMain
              var cbLength:uint = Main.PV.channel_id.length;
              public function ChannelsMain()
                   // constructor code
                   for (var i:int = 0; i < cbLength; i++)
                        var cb:CheckBox = new CheckBox;
                        cb.name = Main.PV.channel_id[i];
                        cb.label = Main.PV.channel_name[i];
                        cb.x = 50;
                        cb.y = 50 + i * 30;
                        cb.addEventListener(Event.CHANGE,call_cb);
                        Main.MS.addChild(cb);
                        //call xml function
                        if(i == cbLength - 1)
                             new ChannelsXML();
              private function call_cb(evt:Event)
                   trace(evt.currentTarget.name,evt.currentTarget.selected);
              public function checkboxes(evt)
                   trace(evt);
