Call RFC  by E*way

Hello,
We build some RFCs to be called from a e*way (Seebeyond).
Everything seem to work fine until we change some of the RFC code, and the eway steel run the old code.  I even cleared the code of the RFC in the SAP system and the eway still run the code of the version that exists in the sap system on the moment they generated the OTD...
Anyone knows how that can be changed. I want that the code to be runed is the one active in the SAP system, and not some old version.
TIA

No one
Is it normal that a the call to a RFC doesn't RUN the actual code, but a old one!!!

    Hi,
    you can use JCO or Enterprise Connector to connect with R/3.

  • Calling RFC from Adobe Interactive Form

    Hello,
       After creating and calling Adobe Interactive form from ABAP web dynpro, within the form designer is it possible to call RFC or Business Object method from the form script to get the data back from SAP for specific Click events?

    Yes,
    this is possible, but not through pure RFC, but using webservices and webservice enabled function modules within SAP.
    Technically it is quite simple. Create a functionmodule, and create a webserve from that (all SE37 or SE80 but from WAS 6.40). Generate a WSDL (with the Java tool) and import that into the form that you are designing. From there you can bind the data from the dataset (as defined in the WSDL) to screenfields or treat the data any other way Javascript can.
    BTW. I only managed this so far by using anonymous logins, so with a password and username bound to the webservice (in SICF).
    Hope this helps, regards, Hans Gmelig Meyling

  • Call RFC from java (j2ee) /  call to j2ee from R/3

    hello
    i´ve browsed the forum for some time to find how to:
    1.) call ejb from r/3 system via rfc
    2.) call rfc enabled function modules on r/3 from within an j2ee enviroment
    but i didn´t quite get it, because i was a bit confused about all the mentionend techniques
    what i found out about
    1.) use ejb (session bean) and jndi; configure RFC-Engine Service (we use sap webas)
    2.) use jco / jca
        (or all rfc enables rfm´s are available as web service, but didn´t find anything about this)
    so my question:
    are these the preferred techniques to connect j2ee (webAS) <-> r/3; if not are there any others, maybe easier methods?
    and last but not least: are there any good online tutorials for this topic?
    thanks in advance
    franz

    Just as a short partial reply.
    The generic Java --> RFC method is JCO (it will work on older versions as well), you can think of it as a JDBC driver where R/3 is the database, it behaves very similar in many ways.
    EJB development on SAP WAS is really not any different from EJB development on any other J2EE server. The deploy tool is superb. very easy to use and the JNDI registry, etc. are standard stuff...
    ABAP to EJB calls, haven't looked at this in over a year now, but back then we did a Proof Of Concept based on information at http://help.sap.com and it did work indeed. The only thing was back then that you needed to do a few tweaks to get it to work properly.
    As mentioned above, look at the JCO examples and then you can ask more specific questions once you get stuck.
    Good Luck!

  • Call RFC from DELPHI Windows Services Program

    Hi all,
    Are there any way to call RFC from DELPHI Windows Services Program?
    Best regards.
    Munur EBCIOGLU

    Hi again Bhagat,
    1. Yes, it's included on 7.4 ABAP Stack (SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP8 - Optimized for SAP HANA, Cloud and Mobile - Service Release 2 available now!). In a recent customer, SAP licences GW by user but there are other license model like session licensing: https://store.sap.com/sap/cp/ui/resources/store/html/SolutionDetails.html?pid=0000009470&catID=&pcntry=US&sap-language=EN&_cp_id=id-1385059687642-0
    2. You could install as an AddOn on your 7.3 system, there are many options depending on your desired infrastructure: SAP Gateway deployment options in a nutshell For example our customer have deployed Central Hub Gateway in a standalone stack ABAP to act as an standalone oData bridge between ABAP/nonAbap systems.
    3. You could deploy SAPUI5 apps in 7.x, Java Web Servers or HTTP Web Servers. You must consider your SSO scenario:
    - SSO Logon Tickets. You will need to configurate SSO Logon Tickets between SAP NW Portal & SAP NW Gateway & your backend (ECC, etc). In order to pass SAP session cookie you will need setup SAP Web Dispacther and access portal & gateway throught SAP WD with the same domain.
    - SAML2 Tickets. This scenario lets you provide portal & gateway on different domains enabling SSO. You could configure SAP NW Portal as an Identity Provider and other systems must trust SAP Portal as IdP.

  • Call RFC

    hai
         how to call RFC prog.

    Technical Overview
    A remote function call (RFC) is the call of a function module that runs in an external system to the calling program. Although it is also possible to call a function module in the same system as an RFC, normally RFCs are used when the caller and the called function module run in the same system.
    In the SAP system, these functions are provided by the RFC interface system. The RFC interface system enables function calls between two SAP systems, or between an SAP system and an external system.
    [edit]
    The RFC Interfaces
    The RFC- interface system is made up of the following interfaces:
    Calling interface for ABAP programs
    Each ABAP program can call a remote function module using the command CALL FUNCTION...DESTINATION. The parameter DESTINATION informs the SAP system that the called function module runs in a different system to the calling system. RFC communication with the remote system takes place as a part of the CALL FUNCTION command.
    RFC function modules in an SAP system must be proper function modules and must be registered in the SAP system as remote.
    If the calling program and the called program are both ABAP programs, the RFC interface provides both communication partners. The calling program can be any ABAP program, and the called program must be a function module that is registered as remote.
    For more detailed information on calling function modules that are registered as remote, see Calling RFC Function Modules in ABAP.
    For more information on writing function modules that you want to call remotely, see Writing RFC Function Modules in ABAP.
    Interfaces for calling non-ABAP programs
    If either the calling program or the called partner is not an SAP program, this program must be programmed in such a way that it can play the role of the other partner in RFC communication.
    To support you when implementing RFC partner programs in non-SAP systems, read: Components of the SAP Communication Technology
    RFC-supported and GUI-supported interfaces can be used by external programs to call function modules in SAP systems, and execute them in these systems. Likewise, ABAP programs can also use these interfaces to use functions supplied by external programs.

    am doing same thing for my current SRM implementation.I am taking data to SRM server from another R/3 server .
    This is solution I have used
    1) First of all I have made ABAP connection in SM59 .
    Go to SM59 .In ABAP Connection creat ABAP connection with system with which u want communicate .
    Eg I am connection with Systems PB1.
    So i developed Connection call PB1CLNT800.
    2) In my requirement I have taken data in my context from another r/3,
    I have give called RFC in my supply function of node.
    Call to RFC is as usual.
    In my case,
    CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_MATNR'
    DESTINATION 'PB1CLNT800'

  • With Scanning call RFC of create TO and confirm TO W/O SAP WM confg--------

    Hello expert,
    We are using SAP WM functionality. Client is using scanning device for scanning a bar code. Can I integrate scanning with SAP WM to create TO and confirm TO with RFC? We do not want to use RF transaction/SAP RF configuration. Is it possible to call RFC with scanning? If yes how?
    Thanks
    Milind

    Hello,
    With my understanding .....For any pick in WM with RF, will be using the functional module "L_to_confirm" for confirmation of picking. In general WH worker scans first the TO bar code/Ship bar code/any bar code that directs him to go to the bin location with the RFGUN based on his que and use to scan the bin location verification bar code and make sure that that is the right location and picks the qty's that shows in the TO and then confirms immediately.
    Now coming to your process you said in the last reply that "TO is already created and worker reaches the place and scan barcode". This is a standard way of doing pick with RF. You said once "he reached the place" it means he should know by scanning pick lable or reading pick sheet a person goes to the location and then you said scan the bar code i.e bin verification barcode and then he confirms the pick. If i understand some thing else.. i don't know... only i know is you need to have a Zprogram thriugh config the RF menu Tcode and that RF screen program will guide you to confirm the TO with GUN.
    thanks... tkreddy

  • Calling RFC in BPM

    Hi ,
          My requirement is to create a background Job in XI using a set of function modules
    BAPI_XMI_LOGON
    BAPI_XBP_JOB_OPEN
    BAPI_XBP_JOB_ADD_ABAP_STEP
    BAPI_XBP_JOB_CLOSE
    BAPI_XBP_JOB_START_IMMEDIATELY
    BAPI_XMI_LOGOFF
    I am calling these function modules in BPM
    the problem I am facing when I call RFC in BPM it is creating new session, the second RFC reads the global data that is created by first RFC, since each RFC is creating a new session, for second RFC the data created(Global table updated in the function pool)  by first RFC is not available.
    Is there any way to solve the problem
    With Regards
    K.Varadharajan

    Hi Vardharajan,
    see your RFCs are related to eachother....by BPM it will be difficult because you will have a RFC conn made for each RFC call - so creating a new session in each call..........
    i suggest a workaround for your problem......create a single RFC which will have all your above RFCs......then you can get the data of second RFC in first RFC as all rfcs will then be in a single RFC............call this RFC from BPM.......

  • The webdynpro/ABAP (WDA) calling RFC enabled FM of other ECC systems

    The webdynpro/ABAP (WDA) has problem calling RFC enabled FM of other ECC systems.

  • FM to call RFC dynamically

    Experts,
    I have a set of RFC's which has to be called dynamically. All RFCs have different set of input parameters. Is there any standard FM with which i can call RFCs with variant? similar to what we do for report using submit <progname> with selection-set <Variant>.

    Hi
    There is way
    One Question
    does the Input Parameters differ in the FM...
    Please do one thing you can cal lthe RFC Dynamically using the Tables Parameters..
    Using the tables parameters , pass this using Dynamic internal table..
    Inside the FM read this..
    do not use the Importing Parameters here

  • Calling RFC placed in PI from Portal

    Dear All,
    We have a scenario where we have RFCs in ECC and it has to be called from Portal through PI.
    Please suggest the possible and easiest ways.
    Please note these RFC are already being called from Portal to ECC directly. So we need to change it be called from PI.
    with regards,
    Ravi Siddam

    Hi Ravi,
    You can do it in either any one of the below ways.
    Use PI Http Url to push the data to PI and from there you can call RFC.
    Plz check below link: Sender Synchronous HTTP Adapter
    Or you can use Web sevice to push the data to PI and then you call RFC.
    Plz check below link on Web service scenario:/people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2007/11/07/walkthrough--soap-xi-rfcbapi
    But before going for above solutions. Please have a looku2026 on below info and decide whether to go for it or not.
    SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 Usage Scenarios: When NOT to use SAP PI
    User Interface Integration scenario: This is a common scenario faced by the development team u2013 the Webdynpro application is developed on the SAP J2EE application server integrated with the portal. The business data has to be fetched from the SAP ECC backend.
    The User Interface would demand a quick response from the backend for fetching data and conducting the transaction. This is a synchronous scenario, and it would also be conducted with high usage every day. Hence, it is recommended to have a direct integration between the source application (WebDynpro application) and the target application (SAP ECC6) without using SAP PI. It is also recommended to expose the backend functionality as standard services.
    For example, integration between SAP Portals (containing SAP BPM, SAP CAF, SAP WebDynpro) and SAP Suite (SAP ECC, SAP CRM, SAP SCM, SAP SRM etc.) should be conducted without the usage of SAP PI; the services should be exposed from the SAP suite as standards-compliant enterprise services.
    Web Service interface of backend application: Many times, the target application in SAP/Microsoft/Java/Legacy is available as a standard web service. In such cases, the web service interface can be easily consumed in the source application. In such scenarios, SAP PI adds no value for transformation or backend integration.
    In conclusion, SAP PI usage is usually not recommended for User facing applications where the backend application is available as a standard web service. SAP PI is almost always suitable for integration between backend applications not requiring human intervention.

  • Help for Calling RFC in B2C application.

    hi,
    We had written one RFC and all java classes related to that.
    we are able to call RFC in b2c application.we are calling RFC on loading of JSP.
    now my requirement is to call same RFC in other JSP but muliple times(in a for loop).But how can i do that?
    one thing is sure we cannot calll this RFC on loading of new jsp page.we have to call inside jsp page(in a loop).
    there is any way?
    please help me out.
    thanks in advance.
    jayesh talreja

    Two things I would like to say here:
    1) Calling RFCs directly from JSP is not supported so we need to use interfaces and backend classes.
    2) Calling an rfc is java code and in jsp we write java code along with html to make it dynamic...so dynamic
    call is also possible.
    ie. suppose we want to call our rfc for fetching some data from the backend based on the data entered at item level once the user clicks on update button on order creation page.So we can write the code like below
                                  <%--   messages --%>
                                       <%@ include file="/b2b/itemErrMsg.inc.jsp"%>
                                       <% } %>
                                       <%-- ui.showItemDetailButton() --%>
                                       <% } %>
                                       <%-- ui.isBOMSubItemToBeSuppressed() --%>
                                       <%--Start of addition by Arshid --%>
                        <!-- From here our custom rfc call is starting-->
                        <%
                             String arg1[]= {"crm~isa~isacore~resources_en"};
                             if((JspUtil.removeNull(item.getProduct()).length()) !=0 && !(JspUtil.removeNull(item.getNetValue()).equals(WebUtil.translate(pageContext,"yourcompany.order.minimumValue",arg1))) )
                                  String baseUOM = "";
                                  int enteredQuan= 0;
                                  double minOrderQuan = 0.00;
                                  double roundingValue = 0.00;
                                  BusinessObjectManager isaBOM = (BusinessObjectManager)userSessionData.getBOM(BusinessObjectManager.ISACORE_BOM);
                                  User user = (User)isaBOM.getUser();
                                  Shop shop = (Shop)isaBOM.getShop();
                                  String distrChannel = shop.getDistributionChannel();
                                  String sod = shop.getSalesOrganisation();
                                  Z_CustomBusinessObjectManager customBOM = (Z_CustomBusinessObjectManager)userSessionData.getBOM(Z_CustomBusinessObjectManager.CUSTOM_BOM);
    //Z_prodInfoValue is a bo that will hold the data returned from rfc call
                                  Z_prodInfoValue z_prodinfo = customBOM.getZ_prodInfobo().getProdInfo(Zeropadding.productInfoNoPadding(item.getProduct()), sod, distrChannel);
    <!-- Call ends here and this piece of code is called for every item on clicking on update buton -->
    Although this is not a good code design as instead of making multiple calls to the backend we can get the above thing done in a single call also.I wrote this code just to give an example .
    This clearky proves we can have dynamic calls to the backend through jsps also.
    But Jayesh, your question is not very clear to me.
    If its about for loop, where you want to call the backend for multiple times with different set of values than i would rather suggest you to create lists of these different datasets and send these in a single call to the backend and fetch the data similarily in tables in a single call.

    Arshi

  • Calling RFC from custom connector

    Hi,
    I am developing a custom connector for UWL to get tasks from 3rd party system.
    I need to call a RFC from backend SAP system to complete Input data for this 3rd party provider.
    I assume that I have to make an RFC call from getItems() method of connector.
    Any idea how to call a RFC from UWL custom connector code?
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amey

    Hello Karri,
    Yes, I am aware of two ways of calling RFCs from Java code.
    Normally, I use following approach to call RFCs from my other Portal Components (JSPDynpages): -
    IPortalComponentRequest request = (IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
    IPortalComponentContext myContext = request.getComponentContext();
    IPortalComponentProfile myProfile = myContext.getProfile();
    String sapSystem = myProfile.getProperty("SystemIdentifier");
    ISystemLandscapeWrapper landscapeWrapper = (ISystemLandscapeWrapper) UMFactory.getSystemLandscapeWrappers().get(0);
    ISystemLandscapeObject systemLandscapeObject = landscapeWrapper.getSystemByAlias(sapSystem);
    IJCOClientService clientService = (IJCOClientService) PortalRuntime.
    getRuntimeResources().getService(JCO_CLIENT);
    request.getNode().putValue(LOCALE_NODE_KEY,     Locale.ENGLISH);
    IJCOClientPoolEntry poolEntry = clientService.getJCOClientPoolEntry(sapSystem,request);
    JCO.Client client = poolEntry.getJCOClient();
    client.connect();
    IRepository repository = JCO.createRepository("repository", client);
    IFunctionTemplate functionTemplate = repository.getFunctionTemplate(Z_BAPI_EMP_GBU_GET);
    JCO.Function function = new JCO.Function(functionTemplate);
    JCO.ParameterList importList = function.getImportParameterList();
    importList.setValue("US", "OBJTYP");
    importList.setValue(request.getUser().getUniqueName(), "USRID");
    client.execute(function);
    JCO.ParameterList outputList = function.getExportParameterList();
    gbuCountryBean.setGbu(outputList.getString("GBU"));
    gbuCountryBean.setCountry(outputList.getString("COUNTRYCODE"));
    gbuCountryBean.setPersArea(outputList.getString("PERS_AREA"));
    gbuCountryBean.setCompanyCode(outputList.getString("COMPANYCODE"));
    When I tried implementing same in UWL custom connector, I am not able to get instance of 'request' object.
    Any hints/ideas on this?
    Hence as an temporary alternative, I wrote following to successfully execute RFC.
    mConnection = JCO.createClient(sapclient,  sapuser,
    sappassword,  "EN", saphost, sapsysnumber);
    mConnection.connect();
    mRepository = new JCO.Repository("GetLeaveRequestFlag", mConnection );
    IFunctionTemplate ftemplate = mRepository.getFunctionTemplate(Z_BAPI_CHECK_LR_TO_APPROVE);
    myFunction = new JCO.Function(ftemplate);
    JCO.Field OBJECT_TYPE = myFunction.getImportParameterList().getField("OBJECT_TYPE");
    OBJECT_TYPE.setValue("US");
    JCO.Field USERID = myFunction.getImportParameterList().getField("USERID");
    OBJECT_TYPE.setValue(p_userID);
    mConnection.execute(myFunction);
    JCO.Field leaveRequestFlag = myFunction.getExportParameterList().getField("FLAG_LEAVE_REQUEST_RECORD");
    mConnection.disconnect();
    But only catch here is that I need to create & maintain SAP logon credentials for a particular user manually.
    It is not possible to single sign on connector user into SAP system (like its done above).
    Any thoughts on this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amey

  • New JAAS Logon Module that calls RFC

    I want to build a new logon module that extends AbstractLoginModule.
    I want to call an RFC in ECC using JCA in this logon module. The purpose of this RFC call is to read the users roles in the backend, if they have a certain role I will dynamically assign them a portal group using the UME API.
    which method in the Logon Module (AbstractLoginModule) should I make the call to the RFC?  (initialize(), login(), commit(), etc.)
    Does anybody have any examples of how to make the RFC call from a custom logon module using JCA?

    Hi K,
    I tend to put the bulk of the logic for my login modules in the login() method - although usually this is for checking authentication rather than assigning roles/groups.
    Have you thought about using UME type ABAP to map ECC roles to Portal Groups? If you then need to write a login module to handle, say, LDAP authentication, then at least it is doing what it should be - i.e. authentication, and the heavy-lifting to do with JCA, roles, etc is handled by SAP-standard code.
    For sample JCA code, there is some in the [Universal Worklist Wiki|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BPX/DeveloperStudioProject+Files] - just download and extract the Devlopment Component there (don't forget to remove the .gif extension - a hack I used to get a Zip file into the Wiki).  The file SapRfc.java gives you a user-friendly way of calling RFCs using JCA. To see it in use, see AbsenceApproval.java - the method getWorkitemDescription() is a good example to look at.
    The only downside of the SapRfc.java library is that the constructor takes a IPortalComponentRequest object as an argument (allowing you to use a Portal System Alias), and you don't really have access to one of those in a JAAS module. You will have to modify this code to take a set of ConnectionProperties instead (see the documentation [Using the SAP System Connector|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/89/8a185c148e4f6582560a8d809210b4/frameset.htm]).
    Really, the component you want to develop might be better deployed as a Portal component. Your users would access this component first of all, and when it completes it would forward them on to the Portal proper.
    Hope this helps,
    Darren
