With Scanning call RFC of create TO and confirm TO W/O SAP WM confg--------

Hello expert,
We are using SAP WM functionality. Client is using scanning device for scanning a bar code. Can I integrate scanning with SAP WM to create TO and confirm TO with RFC? We do not want to use RF transaction/SAP RF configuration. Is it possible to call RFC with scanning? If yes how?

Hello,
With my understanding .....For any pick in WM with RF, will be using the functional module "L_to_confirm" for confirmation of picking. In general WH worker scans first the TO bar code/Ship bar code/any bar code that directs him to go to the bin location with the RFGUN based on his que and use to scan the bin location verification bar code and make sure that that is the right location and picks the qty's that shows in the TO and then confirms immediately.
Now coming to your process you said in the last reply that "TO is already created and worker reaches the place and scan barcode". This is a standard way of doing pick with RF. You said once "he reached the place" it means he should know by scanning pick lable or reading pick sheet a person goes to the location and then you said scan the bar code i.e bin verification barcode and then he confirms the pick. If i understand some thing else.. i don't know... only i know is you need to have a Zprogram thriugh config the RF menu Tcode and that RF screen program will guide you to confirm the TO with GUN.

I know how to change the description of a material using ALE Change Pointers.
I will give the following few steps
1) Tcode BD61---> check the change pointers activated check box
        save and goback.
2) Tcode BD50---> check the MATMAS check box save and comeback.
3) Tcode BD51---> goto IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01 select the checkbox save and comeback.
4) Tcode BD52---> give message type : matmas press ok button.
   select all what ever you want and delete remaining fields.

Got new miniMac servers with 2x750GB drives. How to setup and confirm RAID mirror?

Literally just got shiny new miniMac Server with the dual 70GB internakky hard drives/disks with
OS X 10.7.$ LION pre-installed. What a nice machine in a super cool box!
Seemed to bootup and run fine!
Now my issue (there will be more for this MAC newbie):
A. How to setup AND more importantly (item B below) CONFIRM that a RAID MIRROR is working?
Want nothing fancier than 2-nd drive is exact duplicate of 1-st drive at all times.
That is, an 'active and full up-to -the second" backup of the main 1-st drive.
I have done nothing to 1-st drive as it came from APPLE.
When I try to setup RAID set using DISK Utility, I get message about system(1-st drive) can't be used in a RAID or such.
yet I can add 2-nd drive to what I tink is a RAID set and then 'Enable' it.
It seems to add another entry to thr left-side of drves list panel but not sure that 1-st and 2-nd drives are BOTH in the new
"RAID SET' or that the set just consists of the "single" 2-nd disk?
B. I don't think that 1-st drive data is actually being duplicated to 2-nd drive.
For instance, how do I know that it was 'caught up' to match 1-st drive AND then is
staying caught up?
C. A 'RAID UTILITY' Icon brings up a not-available message, but I think that is because I don't
have HARDWARE RAID controller, just software RAID, correct?
D. What is 'Time Machine' and how does it play into this? I do assume that somehow/someway I need to
have off-machine backups also to be truly protected? How would a 2-nd identical miniMAC server be best
deployed to back each other up, in addition to their own internal RAID-ed disks that items above address?
My whole point of buying 2x750GB disks was to have mirror RAID set and
(foolishly) assumed that factory would set it up that way.
Please help me get setup right so when the inevitable crash happens,
I have some chance of recovering from it.

A. What are you adding to the RAID: a partition or a hard drive? You can only add hard drives to a RAID. RAID Utility should confirm that your RAID is working
B. No, I don't think so
C. It's because you haven't got RAID hardware.
D. Time Machine is a backup system in external drives. If you want, you can do backups in a external hard drive.

BC4J with Struts using EditAction's create method.

I am using BC4J with struts and using the EditAction and UpdateAction classes provided by BC4J.
When i want to create a new row in the database the documentation asks me to call EditAction's create() method and then UpdateAction's execute() method to do it. But even when i just call UpdateAction's execute() method I am able to create a new row. So WHY should I call EditAction's create() method ?????

EditAction's create() method is something you would call in the action before rendering the empty form for the user to fill in.
It creates a row, and then marks the row as having STATUS_INITIALIZED using the Row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED) call.
By setting the row to STATUS_INITIALIZED, this makes BC4J "forget" that it's a new row that needs to be inserted. In effect, it makes that new row a throwaway row used only for the purpose of rendering the blank form. An important reason you would want to do things this way is to pickup entity-level default values in the attributes of the new row.
For example, in the toy store demo, why is it that when you register as a new user the "Country" poplist defaults to "United States" ? (it's not the first entry in the list).
The answer is that, since the EditAction (or in this case my custom subclass of that) creates the blank row, the fact that the "toystore.model.businessobjects.Account" entity object declares that its Country attribute has a default value of "US" makes the blank row created in the "toystore.model.dataaccess.Accounts" view object have a default value of "US", and that default value in the blank row causes the <jbo:InputSelect> tag that renders the poplist to mark the corresponding "United States" option in the list as currently selected (as it's the display string associated in the poplist with the value "US").

Run time error while running BDC for production order creation and confirmation:

Dear Gurus,
We have a situation, where the users are trying to do the entries creation of order or confirmation (through manual and BDC). But, if there is any kind of a deficit quantities in consumption or GR quantity, then it is going to run time error and Dumps are coming in program SAPLCORB
and the transaction code is coming for CO11N.
How to avoid this error to run the production system in smoothing way...Any flash lights on this will be great full

Expert Caetano has rightly point out. Refer Note 1840705 - RAISE_EXCEPTION short dump if running CO11N in background
Cause
The short dump is triggered because SAP transaction CO11N contains new GUI elements that cannot always be dealt with in a background process,
such as the confirmation texts.
Resolution
SAP recommends that the standard production order BAPIs, such as BAPI_PRODORDCONF_CREATE_TT, should be used to post a confirmation in background.
If this is not feasible, the following workaround may be uses:
Define a confirmation profile in transaction OPK0;
In the detail areas, remove the area "Confirmation text";
Set this profile as standard, so that it is chosen automatically by the system when a batch-job
is started;
Assign this confirmation profile to the batch user with transaction SU3 using parameter CORUPROF.

Call RFC with DLL created with DCOM CONNECTOR

I try to call a RFC with a DLL that i created with the SAP R/3 DCOM CONNECTOR (Release 4.5.B):
My external soft calls the DLL, which calls the RFC, which calls a transaction (Call Transaction Mode N, Update S)...
When i test the RFC in SAP (SE37), it's OK.
But when i call the RFC with my soft (and with the DLL), the Call Transaction returns sy-subrc = 1.001 (the methode "AdviseRfcGuiSink" included in the DLL allows me to launch the debugging with my external soft).
I found no SAP notes about this problem.
If you met the same problem, could you help me ?

As discripet in the post before - first I've got an error in the Method "CreateNewRow()" where the Method wants to return "return new byte[]()". Well I don't know why the .Net-Connector creates that code - but it looks strange to me.
The origin Code is:

            return new byte[]();;
With Changing that method I've got the same Error as in the post before:

Does someone has found a solution for that kind of Problem?

RFC calls with SAP JCO and IBM resource adapter for SAP - basic tuning

Hi experts,
we are working on a java portal connected to a backend system SAP by calling RFCs.
On our first integration tests, it appears to be quite slow fetching data from SAP by calling the remote functions from the custom portal. We are using SAP JCo 3.0.6 and IBM resource adapter for SAP 7.0.0.3 to integrate SAP with our portal.
Is there any basic tuning to achieve to improve performances or any hint of where to tune in SAP ?

Hi Jamal,
I understand you have already checked performance issues in the SAP Server. We had some problems with certain RFC calls and it turned out to be a badly developed ABAP sentence.
I'd recommend you to use httpwatch or another tool to check the response times from the browser, so you can point accurately where the is.

How to call rfc with byte[] parameter?

I am building a middleware using SAP.NET connector but Im having a problem with a particular rfc. I am using C# and my problem basically is abut PIDs( persistent instance id, call list id). PIDs are composed of 32 characters(hexstring), 16 bytes in hexadecimal format. (e.g. A42103E78DCAD54A9EB09D5921C76F06). The rfc crm_call_list_get_calls requires a PID input of byte[] datatype (byte[] Iv_Call_List_ID). I've tried converting the hexstring into an array of bytes (C# format) for the said rfc (A42103E78DCAD54A9EB09D5921C76F06----> byte[] PID={0xA4, 0x21, 0x03, 0xE7, 0x8D, 0xCA, 0xD5, 0x4A, 0x9E, 0xB0, 0x9D, 0x59, 0x21, 0xC7, 0x6F, 0x06} but ive been getting the following error:
System exception thrown while marshaling RFCTYPE_XMLDATAto .NET type.
Unhandled Exception: SAP.Connector.RfcMarshalException: System exception thrown while marshaling RFCTYPE_XMLDATAto .NET type. ---> System.Xml.Xsl.XsltException: 'Byte[]' is an invalid QName.
Also a part of the generated code for the same rfc returns an error for missing array initialization.

HP Photosmart 5525 problem with scanning and copying

Hello Everyone,
I bought a new HP Photosmart 5525 few months ago and it was working fine with everything but suddenly it stopped scanning and copying. while copying it doesnt do anything and while scanning it gives the error message
" Scanner communicatioon cannot be established. Ensure your product is powered on, check the connection, and ensure your network is functioning properly"
i tried everything but i couldn't fix it. i would really appriciate any sort of help.

I would personally think that there could be a "Scanner failure" with your printer, and would like you to check out a post from my colleague @RnRMusicMan below and follow the guide he suggested to someone else with the same issue. RFC hangs with a call to function module SSFC_PARSE_CERTIFICATE

We are working on BI 7.0 SP9 .
When we try to test the RFC connection from the WAS Abap to the portal ( WAS JAVA ) using SM59 , the test is hanging but we can read in the bottom of the screen 'Connexion bcv51sf2... OK' !!!
The test connection works sometimes .
But when its not working , with the debug mode , I can see that the program SAPLSSFG/LSSFGU19 is hanging in the function module SSF_GET_PARAMETER with a call to the function SSFC_PARSE_CERTIFICATE

As i said in the first post , the RFC test is hanging sometimes but now it seems that it's not hanging everytime at the same line of the abap code , if i can trust the debugger !
...and after another RFC test , now all the RFC to the portal are working ...
It seems that when it's hanging , it's at the end of the functions ( SYSTEM_CALLSTACK
or CONVERSION_EXIT_ISOLA_OUTPUT or SSF_GET_PARAMETER ) .
A memory or OS problem ?

Call RFC from ECC and display the values in AET

Hi ALL,
I had an RFC in ECC ( Z_CRM_SPEC_DATA) this should be called into my AET Fields in getter method.
In getter method of tat AET field what code should i write?
Plz help me on this.

1) Call the RFC(Z_CRM_SPEC_DATA) from ECC and display the values as mentioned in below AET fields.
AET FIELDS :    zzfld00000M    zzfld00000N
Description :    Budget Quan    Forecast Quan
values         :    (--5.0)(6.0--
2) (Fetch Budget and Forecast data from ECC ),you would need to pass Material Number(MATNR) as well as Ship to party info to fetch the budget and forecast data as one material may be assigned to 2 or more SH with specific budget and forecast data for each.
