Call sever-side ActionScript from CFC ?

Hello,
I have two services in a same directory : serv1.CFC write
with ColdFusion and serv2.asr write in Actionscript Server-Side.
So I want calling a function in serv2.asr directly from a
function in serv1.CFC
The standard
createObject("component","flashservices.serv2.asr") fail and so
with type java, webservice.
How create a direct call between a component CFC and service
.asr
Thanks.
Sébastien

I have tried such thing in past and i know it works. There is nothing like its takes only strings or parameters are passed as "string".
I just again tried passing variable which is assigned string value and could successfully trace it on Server-side application.onConnect
Basically you can pass any type of value in nc.connect() - say if you are passing numbers, you can just do conversion of it to number using Number() on SSAS.
Can you trace your variable value just before you call nc.connect on client side and see whether assignment on client side has happened fine. Also which version of FMS are you using and is it possible for you pass me your client and server-side code snippets.

  • Calling server side procedures from forms

    Hi
    I am trying to add a server side procedure to a form. The procedure is held in a package which resides on a remote database and I have set-up database links to this database.
    When I run the form, calling the procedure, the oracle forms runtime session closes without displaying any error messages.
    I have successfully called the procedure from database triggers in different databases.
    Does anyone know whats going on?
    I am using forms 5.0 with a oracle 7.3 database
    Thanks!!

    Check out the method:

  • How to create/call dynamic XML feed from CFC - HELP PLEASE!!

    Hi All,

    Am I correct in outputting it in this way?  What if I output as a string instead......would others be able to consume it?

    Hey Dan....thanks for the prompt reply.
    I added the wsdl and this is what I get when I call the service from this cfm page: http://www.prevu.tv/xyzTest.cfm
    Have never seen output like this.  Is this correct?
    The web service I'm writing is also for some .net developers so it may be that I need to output as string also - this discussion has not taken place yet.

    Hi Timo,
    In Soap ui we are not getting any error. We are generating a webserviceproxy out of the wsdl. After creating proxy we right click the wsdl and do a test webservice.
    Then we are getting the below error.
    "invalid namespace for prefix ns1. The operation cannot proceed"
    Just wanted to check with you can webserviceproxy be created of the wsdl which contain multiple schemas?
    Thanks Timo.

  • Calling CFM from CFC

    Greetings to all
    I not enough work with ColdFusion.
    My question: How I can receive function parametres in *.CFM file  from a *.CFC component?
    OR
    How I can calling functions in CFM from Flex Application?
    For example:
    In CFM:
    <cffunction>
    <cfreturn HelloVariable>
    </cffunction>
    How I can recieve HelloVariable in my Flex Application?
    Sorry for my English

    In your cfc, add a cfinclude to the cfm file and then you have access to the function.

  • How do I tell FMS to only serve a section of a file using server-side ActionScript?

    We have a bunch of mp3 files on our server and we'd like to serve only particular sections of particular files to users.  For example, hello.mp3 might be four minutes long, but when user 1 tries to play it, he should only be able to play the section from 0:30 to 1:00, whereas user 2 should be able to play the whole thing.
    I'm coming from a background using Wowza Media Server, where this is fairly easy to achieve: http://fmsguru.com/showtutorial.cfm?tutorialID=78.
    Wowza doesn't require any change to the player (it doesn't call any special methods), so I'm looking for the same here.
    I've been fiddling around with the main.asc file and the "Server-Side ActionScript" API to try and achieve something similar.  In particular I've found the Stream.play method, which seems relevant.  But I can't figure out how to attach a handler to a "play" event; all the examples I've seen only attach to Application.onConnect, which doesn't seem to include a connection to a particular file, which I need in order to determine the section that can be played.
    So I'd like to do something along the lines of this (this is completely made up and doesn't follow any of the APIs; it's just an illustration of what I'm trying to achieve):
    application.onConnect = function(client) {
       client.onPlay = function(stream) { // Client.onPlay doesn't exist; what should I do here?
           var section = getStreamSection(client, stream);
           stream.play(section.start, section.end);
    var getStreamSection = function(client, stream) {
       return { start: 30, end: 60 }; // Return value is based on the user's credentials and the file they're trying to stream

    You can find the documentation for Plug-ins here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/plugin_apiref/index.html
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashmediaserver/devguide/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11a0d662434 -7ff6PluginAPI.html
    Basically you need to concentrate on E_PLAY event and two fields F_STREAM_LENGTH & F_STREAM_POSITION. I am pasting below some code which you need to paste in your sample Auth Plug-in which you can find in : <installdir>/samples/plug-ins. You would have paste below code in case E_PLAY section in MyFmsAuthorizeEvent::authorize() function and compile it. You would basically get AuthModule.dll which you need to place in modules/auth and restart FMS.
    // Set the Stream to be played back only for 10 seconds starting from 10 th second
                                  // Stream will play from 10th Second to 20th Second
                                     float fValue;
                                  char buf[1024];
                                  if (getFloatField(m_pAev, IFmsAuthEvent::F_STREAM_LENGTH, fValue))
                                            float fLength = fValue; // in seconds
                                            sprintf(buf,"Original Stream length value passed from player %f\n",fLength);
                    m_pFmsAuthServerContext->log(buf, IFmsServerContext::kInformation, false);
                                            fLength=10.0;
                                            sprintf(buf,"Modifying Stream length value passed from player %f\n",fLength);
                    m_pFmsAuthServerContext->log(buf, IFmsServerContext::kInformation, false);
                                            setFloatField(m_pAev,IFmsAuthEvent::F_STREAM_LENGTH,fLength);
                                  if (getFloatField(m_pAev, IFmsAuthEvent::F_STREAM_POSITION, fValue))
                                            float iPosition = fValue; // in seconds
                                            sprintf(buf,"Original Stream Position value passed from player %f\n",iPosition);
                    m_pFmsAuthServerContext->log(buf, IFmsServerContext::kInformation, false);
                                            iPosition=10.0;
                                            sprintf(buf,"Modifying Stream length value passed from player %f\n",iPosition);
                    m_pFmsAuthServerContext->log(buf, IFmsServerContext::kInformation, false);

  • How to call a SAP service from adobe flex

    Hi experts,
    I need to call a webservice create from SAP BAPI  my URL is: http://xxxxxxxxx:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DD90E166ACE1B1F18AD8001B789FF0AD/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=200, with this URL I can test the webservice from WsNavigator.
    The operation is ZimrfcVerifOtUbica and the input structure is:
    ZimrfcVerifOtUbica
    > PiNumeroAlmacen (input parameter)
    > PiOTransporte (input parameter)
    The output structure is:
    ZimrfcVerifOtUbicaResponse
    >PoMessage (output parameter)
    I've created a view with two inputfield (one to PiNumeroAlmacen, one to PiOTransporte), one button and one label (to put the result value).
    but I don't know how to call the WS, I tried with this code:

    and I get this error: [RPC Fault faultString="Could not load WSDL" faultCode="Server.NoServicesInWSDL" faultDetail="No <wsdl:service> elements found in WSDL at ."].
    I tried with actionscript and runtime library but I get this error: java.lang.Exception: Unsupported element in WSDL file: UnknownExtensibilityElement
    I tried put in Data--> Import Web Service and I put the URL and I get Unable to load the WSDL.  Specify another URI.
    Other thing is for this webservice I've created a logic destination, and this webservice is used in a webdynpro aplication and works correctly. But now I need to use the same webservice in flex.
    Could you help me to call to this webservice?
    Thanks in advance.

    Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume)  or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call.

  • How can I call a stateful webservice from a user-defined XPath function?

    I'm calling a stateful webservice from a BPEL process using a PartnerLink which implements Custom Header Handler classes to handle the session state, storing the cookie as a property of the PartnerLink.
    I'd also like to call this same stateful webservice, in the same session, from a user-defined XPath function enabling me to call this from an XSL Transformation.
    Is this in any way possible? Can I access the cookie and attach it to the webservice call made by the user-defined XPath function?

    Actually, as long as the servlet returns valid javascript, you can indeed "call it" from the client. It will initiate a request and return the result to the browser.
    This example uses Perl, but it could be easily modified to go to a servlet instead.
    Note that it is only supported in DOM browsers (IE6+/NN6+/etc)

  • Calling a Web Service from Mobile - UI options

    Hi Team,
    I have a scenario where the backend SAP functionality is exposed as a web service and we need to call it online from a mobile handheld device (Symbol with Pocket PC client 2003, IE browser 4.0). Is it possible to call this web service from the handheld? Do we have to write the web service call on the J2EE stack using NetWeaver developer studio?
    Also, what UI technology is recommended for showing the data from the web service call. The idea is to get some user input on the handheld, and then post a transaction via the web service on SAP. I discussed with some of my colleagues and they recommend to use JSP/Servlets for this. Does anybody has a better idea, (the JSP/Servlets does not seem correct). Should we use native XSLT or something else.
    Please note that the Mobile Web Dynpro has limitations on the UI side and the "onEnter", "setFocus" does not work, specifically on the netweaver 2004s release. The backend ERP system we have is 2004s and I'm trying to make a web service call from a NW 2004 client.
    Any ideas or pointers will be appreciated and points awarded. Thanks for your time.

    Hi Sanjay!
    Yes, To call a WebService you will have to write your Own Application using NWDS.I donot have any specific recommendation for the UI Technology to be used.
    Usage of "OnEnter" and "SetFocus" with NW2004s has certain limitations below.
    "OnEnter" is not a supported feature as of now especially for WD applications on Handheld Devices.
    "SetFocus" will work on IE6.0 Standard Desktop Browser with WAS7.0 SP06 and i believe it will work in hand held devices if your using WAS7.0(NW2004s)SP8 and you are using the latest Symbol Device that has Windows Mobile 5.0 OR Windows CE.NET 5.0.I understand that there could be some limitations with the OS and the IE you are currently running in the device.
    Let me know your views.
    Thank You

  • Calling Java Android code from XSLT

    I am trying to get an XSLT stylesheet to work that invokes Java code at certain points during execution (used to parse RDFa). You can find a very simple example of such code below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <stylesheet
    xmlns:xsl ="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0"
    xmlns ="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
    xmlns:xalan="http://xml.apache.org/xalan"
    xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/xalan/java"
    exclude-result-prefixes="java" >
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <value-of select="java:android.xslt_test.XSLTTest.testing()"/>
    </xsl:template>
    </stylesheet>
    Although this XSLT calls the specified method for a Java desktop application, it doesn't do anything in an Android application (no methods are called and the transformer simply returns the original document). After I configured the Transformer instance with a custom ErrorListener subclass instance (via aTransformer.setErrorListener()), I get a NullPointerException (packaged as a TransformerException) when the above XSLT code is parsed. This error does not occur for "normal" XSLT sheets (these are parsed correctly on Android).
    Any ideas on why this doesn't work? Do I need to use another prefix / namespace for Android applications? I've spent quite some time looking online for a solution, but couldn't find any..
    Thanks,
    William

    The question really comes down to "can I call a server-side object from the client side?"
    The answer is "not directly". You can call a client-side JavaBean from JavaScript (e.g. when you use <jsp:plugin/> to embed a JavaBean in the HTML, you can call that from the JavaScript on the client-side.) You can call a server-side JavaBean using server-side code only.
    You can probably set up a framework to cause a function on the client to submit to a servlet which changes the bean on the server, but you can't just call it directly.

  • Calling packaged stored procedure from Java

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to call a stored procedure from Java but I'm having
    problems with registrating the output parameter. I'm getting
    the error: Conflicting parameters.: sqltype=2003
    This is the stored procedure which is located in a package in
    the Oracle database:
    package Pack_GetAgencyInformation as
    Type InfoType is record ( agen_code varchar(3), agen_designation
    varchar(30), agen_adresse varchar(60), agen_tel varchar(12) );
    function GetAgencyInformation( P_AGENCE VARCHAR )
    return Pack_GetAgencyInformation.InfoType
    end Pack_GetAgencyInformation;
    This is the Java source from where I'm calling the procedure:
    //DriverManager.registerDriver (new
    oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
         Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection
    ("jdbc:oracle:thin:@164.48.69.125:1521:ventes", "system", "*****
    // @machineName:port:SID,
    userid, password
    CallableStatement cs = conn.prepareCall("{ ? = call
    Pack_GetAgencyInformation.GetAgencyInformation( ? )}");
         try {
              cs.registerOutParameter( 1,
    oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleTypes.ARRAY);
         } catch (SQLException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
         cs.setString(2, "001" );
         //ResultSet rset = cs.executeQuery();

    I think it has to do with the type InfoType which is created in
    the Stored Procedure. I'm absolute no Oracle expert and I
    prefer not to make changes to the Oracle database. So any
    solution in Java is welcome!
    BR, H.Rietman

    I managed to get it to work only by changing the stored
    procedure. I have changed the return type record to a Ref
    Cursor type (had to change alot of code for this). It seams
    that Oracle JDBC drivers DON'T support the Record type as a
    return type.
    So the next question is: is it possible to typecast a record
    type to a ref cursor type in Oracle. In this way I can easily
    change the return type for the stored procedures.

  • On making call to Oracle procedures from Java, Value becomes null on oracle

    We are using some user defined Oracle data types in my Java/J2EE application
    and some of them are Oracle collections(ex. VARRAY).
    We are making a call to Procedures/Functions from Java, there are some
    parameters of user defined data types declared in the
    procedures/functions, from java the values are properly setting to these
    user defined data type parameters and sending to Procedures.
    We are not getting any exception at Java side and Oracle side and values
    are becoming blank/null at oracle procedure side for the parameters of
    user defined data types.
    But when do the count of collection of user defined data type then it is
    properly giving the size of collection(VARRAY).
    When we are trying to read the values from the collection(VARRAY) it is
    giving blank/null value and there is no exception.
    Please let me know if you have any suggestion on this?

    I have a form created on windows environment (.fmb/.fmx). This form accepts a parameter in a text field and calls another Oracle Report. Now my questions are:
    1. If windows forms are not compatible with UNIX environment, then how these are converted to be compatible with UNIX/Linux (without re-creating them on different platform)?
    2. Can I call the same form from UNIX shell with input as a shell script input?
    3. And if answer to the second query is no, then can I invoke Web deplyed froms (on application server) using shell? and how..
    I w'd appreciate your help!
    Regards.

    1. If windows forms are not compatible with UNIX environment, then how these are converted to be compatible with UNIX/Linux (without re-creating them on different platform)?you need to generate fmx on server side. this is character mode. use : f60gen yourforms.fmb username/password@tns > a
    yes you can call it forms use : f60run forms.fmx username/password@tns
    report : rwrun60c yourreportname.rdf username/password@tns destype=file desname=a.lis
    but always use HOST command inside the forms, also to send to the printer name that is configured to your server.
    host ('rwrun60c /dsk8/ciame/rcption/wagih/reportname xxx/xxxn@xxx batch=yes destype=file desname=$user_output/'||to_char(:blk1.office_emp_no)||'.lis tty_office_no='||to_char(:blk1.office_no)||' tty_emp_no='||to_char(:blk1.office_emp_no)||' tty_rcpt_no='||to_char(:blk2.rcpt_mst_receipt_no)||' tty_rpt_type=0;
    lp -d $lp01 -c $user_output/'||to_char(:blk1.office_emp_no)||'.lis',NO_PROMPT);
    and if you call another form then you can use open_form,call_form,,... inside the form. Be sure you add in the library your wroking folder.
