i'm using oracle forms 10g,
in my application the users can upload any type of files (doc,xls,pdf,avi ,.. etc) and any user can download and open any of these files.
i implement this using client_host and including the path of winword.exe or AcroRd32.exe ,...
in many cases i don't know where these exe files are installed in the client side or whether it is installed or not.
i tried this command : client_host('calc.exe') it works and show me the calc without including the path of this exe file.
what i want to do is to just call the target file(doc,pdf,avi,..) in the client_host without having to precede this with the exe and path like the calc.exe example.
if you go to start->run and write for example c:\ahmed.mpeg , windows automatically call the real player or any other video software installed and open the movie.
can we implement this in oracle forms? and how?

That depends on your OS and the version of Reader that you have installed... Also, it's possible the path was changed during the installation process.
By default, Reader XI on Windows 7 is installed under:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader
And the main executable file is called AcroRd32.exe .

Everything goes fine, but the behaviour of the .exe file is not the same. I mean when i run the commands

the behaviour is not the same. What goes wrong.

But to load the xml file I need to create a File objectIf this is true then you will not be able to load the XML file, since a jar entry is not a File object and cannot be represented as one.
However if you get rid of whatever it is that loads your XML file and replace it by more standard JAXP processing, you should be able to parse an InputStream that reads from the jar entry. You know how to get that so it should not be a problem.

I downloaded a 7-zip file from CNET and it didn't do what I wanted and so I uninstalled it. However, all the "exe" files on the computer are now not accessible. I can get to Firefox thru a "shortcut" on my desktop for the local newspaper. The e-mail is working thru my yahoo account only. I purchased PC MightyMax and that didn't do anything for me. I found the file but when I added it to the list for the Data Execution Program to ignore , I received a message that the Program.x86/itunes file must have the DEP on in order to run. Anyone else having this problem ?

Installing it is no great difficulty, the subscription is the issue. If you are using this Adobe ID for anything else, you cannot split off the subscription, and cannot share the Adobe ID. Volume licensing (with team management) is only available for the full Creative Cloud subscription.
