Call transaction in Netweaver Business Client from WD ABAP

Hi all,
I have a third party web application that feeds me with a sales order number through a link. Is it possible to get this sales order displayed in a Web Dynpro Application that has been embedded in NWBC?
A solution where the transaction VA03 opens directly in NWBC, can also be used, if that's easier.
Kind regards
Jonas

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for the quick reply, though i'm still not quite sure what to do, so i will give a thorough description of my problem, just to make sure we are on the same page.
I know that when i use a standalone WD app in a browser outside the portal or NWBC, i can call it with parameters from a different web application by appending the parameter name and value, at the end of the URL. This causing the app to refresh with the data corresponding to the incoming parameter. But how can i make it do the same when the WD app is embedded in a portal or NWBC.
The scenario is that multiple users are looking at sales orders in a web application developed in php. This application is creating a link to the WD app for each sales order, with the sales order number and user ID as parameters. So when the user clicks the link, the WD app in NWBC "refreshes" with the data. But of course only in the specific user's NWBC session, so that other users can use the same WD app to view different sales orders at the same time.
Am i wasting my time trying to figure this out, or is it actually possible
Regards
Jonas

  • CALLING BUSINESS OBJECT FROM AN ABAP REPORT

    Hi friends,
               I have a business object to which a Custom Function Module is assigned in one of its method.This Function Module calls a Bapi to update a Service Order.I need to capture the status of Idocs regarding success or failure from the function Module in the ABAP Report.I would like to know if there is any way to call this business object from my report and get the status of IDOC.
    Regards,
    Dev Reddy

    sorry I think i was not clear in explaining .I am calling a BAPI to update 'Priority' field of service orders in a custom function module(remote enabled) and I have assigned this bapi to a custom business object. Also I have developed an ALE interface thru BDBG transaction which automatically generates custom basic idoc type,messsage type ,Ale i/b and o/b function modules.
    Actually my requirement deals with a report where we have list of service orders in an internal table and pass each service order to update Priority field.
    Is there any way to create an IDOC from the report and update the priority field and pass back the status of IDOC.
    I have tried calling ALE O/B function function module generated thru BDBG transaction in my report but as a result i am unable to get any of the message whether idoc is created or not.
    Here is my report code.

  • WSConfig problem when connecting to Portal with Netweaver Business client

    Hello everybody,
    I am trying to connect to an existing portal (7.0) with the new Netwevaer Business client. On one system, it works - on the other, it doesn't.
    The client tries to call the url:
    http://<host>:<j2ee-port>/NavigationWS/NavigationWSConfig?wsdl=binding&style=document
    on one system (where it works), the response contains a wsdl xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <!--             Generated by WSDLDefinitionsParser
      -->
    - <wsdl:definitions xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" name="NavigationWSWsd" targetNamespace="urn:NavigationWSWsd" xmlns:bns0="urn:NavigationWSWsd/NavigationWSConfig/document" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/">
      <wsdl:import location="http://iwdfvm2160.wdf.sap.corp:51000/NavigationWS/NavigationWSConfig/bindings?wsdl&style=document" namespace="urn:NavigationWSWsd/NavigationWSConfig/document" />
    - <wsdl:service name="NavigationWS">
    - <wsdl:port name="NavigationWSConfigPort_Document" binding="bns0:NavigationWSConfigBinding">
      <soap:address location="http://iwdfvm2160.wdf.sap.corp:51000/NavigationWS/NavigationWSConfig?style=document" />
      </wsdl:port>
      </wsdl:service>
      </wsdl:definitions>
    on the other system (actually the one I need to work!) the server returns error 404 the ressource does not exist.
    Now I think it may be a webservice configuration problem, but I have little experience in this area.
    What is this URL to ../NavigationWS/NavigationWSConfig ? How can I activate it or check if it exists ? Where to look on the system ?
    Can anyone help?
    best regards,
    Johannes

    Hi Johannes,
    We are facing the same question with our 7.0 Portal (SPS 13). It seems that the application "NavigationWS" does not exist, there is not even an application alias defined at the HTTP provider of the J2EE engine.
    What Portal version are you using? Is there a difference to the Portal that has no problems with providing the wsdl?

  • Requirement: Open Transaction code in SAP GUI from WD ABAP application

    Hello All,
    I have a WD ABAP application which is accessed from SAP GUI and Portal. In SAP GUI, there is report which calls the application URL.
    In the WD application, I need to call a transaction code. At this juncture, I made use of the ITS url. But,, the SSO does not work in SAP GUI.It works only in portal.
    As a solution,we identified the entry point i.e. SAP GUI or portal. Then, based on entry from SAP GUI, we tried to call the transaction code using call transaction statement. But, that replaced the wd application. We instead wanted it as a popup or atleast another session.
    Now, how do we open a transaction from WD screen in another session?
    Also, can we setany configurations in the system to make sure the SSO works for all the transactions i.e. ITS used in SAP GUI.?
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Sharath

    Hi,
    This question gets asked many times.
    Depending on the circumstances, this can be achieved with varying degree of success
    So here is some code that might help you.
    This can (does) load a Windows GUI.
    Some things to consider.
    1. Browser settings can get in the way a bit, asking the user if they want to open a ".sap" file
    2. The user may have a SAP session open so consider adding a "/o" to the system code.
    3. The Custom variable might want to contain a [Options] section for "Re-use"
    4. The SAPLogon_ID may be required if using SSO (SNC)
    I have modified the code below, but you will get the idea.
    JS
    * Create the shortcut contents
      call function 'SWN_CREATE_SHORTCUT'
        exporting
          i_system_command        = lv_com
          i_saplogon_id           = lv_logon_id
          i_sysid                 = sy-sysid
          i_client                = sy-mandt
          i_user                  = sy-uname
          i_custom                = lv_custom
        importing
          shortcut_string         = lv_string
        exceptions
          inconsistent_parameters = 1
          others                  = 2.
    * Convert to xstring to execute....
      call method cl_http_utility=>if_http_utility~encode_utf8
        exporting
          unencoded = lv_string
        receiving
          encoded   = lv_xstring
        exceptions
          others    = 1.
    * Now call to open the shortcut.
      lv_file_name =  'mytrans.sap'.
      lv_mime = 'application/x-sapshortcut'.
      call method cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response
        exporting
          i_filename      = lv_file_name
          i_content       = lv_xstring
          i_mime_type     = lv_mime
          i_in_new_window = abap_true.

  • Calling Enity Bean's business methods from a session bean in EJB 3.0 specif

    Hello everybody,
    Happy to be a member with you in this forum.
    This is my first participation in this forum.
    I have some problem to start with EJB 3.0 specification, I have created an entity bean with some business methods that access a mysql datbase, then i want to create a stateful session bean to provide the client an interface to consume business methods in Enity be
    Please can someone you help me with an example

    @Vladimir Pavlov
    I did not understand what you are trying to convey...
    Whenever an attribute of this bean is modified we want to access that latest value.... Is there any way to know, when the attribute is modified? Just with get/set we can not know, when it is modified... am i right?
    We want to achieve this without modifying the existing source code of the EJB....
    @ Ivo Simeonov
    As of my knowledge, to use interceptors we need to modify the EJB source code, but we do not want to touch the source code....
    All this has to be achieved dynamically when the application is deployed in the production.... is it possible???

    Regards
    David Cortes

    Hi David,
    I am leaning towards SSL.  We are not using SSL in our environment and I believe that by default in a NW7.3P5 portal the WSConfig (?) services require SSL.  When doing a security trace from within the portal via NWA I am receiving:
    "POST /ConfigurationWS/ConfigurationWSConfig?wsdl&style=document&mode=standard HTTP/1.1
    content-type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
    accept-encoding: gzip, deflate
    user-agent: NWBCClient v1.0"
    "process()
    [EXCEPTION]
    com.sap.engine.interfaces.webservices.runtime.ProtocolExceptionExt: SSL required for this call. For details see log entry .
    at com.sap.engine.services.wssec.srt.protocols.ProviderSecurityProtocol.logThrowable(ProviderSecurityProtocol.java:1204)"
    Unfortunately I don't have a NW7.3 system pre SP5 to see if it was a support pack change or the default in a NW7.3 system.
    Looking at the service definition for ConfigurationWSSI in the Configuration and Security Tabs you can see the transport protocol is defined as HTTPS.   If I can change the ConfigurationWSSI and the NavigationWSVi (?) to HTTP protocol it gets past the SSL check but then I receive other exceptions.  Unfortunately I don't have the time to investigate further.

  • Is netweaver business client necessary to record web dynpro app script?

    thanks and best regards,
    Anders

    Hi Anders
    NWBC is not necessary to record the Webdynpro application.
    Just select the webdynpro command from pattern functions in eCATT editor and record the application.
    To do this you need to know the URL of the screen you need to automate and the configuration id.
    You can get the config id and the URL if you know the package name of the application. Once you have the package just go to SE80 and enter the package and traverse to the web dynpro application node and you can get the desired details there and also you can launch the application from there.
    you have to setup the RFC containing the http or https connection with the right port no.
    Once you have those select the command WEBDYNPRO from pattern and enter the URL and the config id there.
    There are few limitations in eCATT tool right now to record a WEBDYNPRO screens such as recording of the pop ups which comes in between which has URL (Object based navigation) and the pdf forms etc. Tool development is working continuously to solve those issues and will be fixed soon!
    Best Regards

  • How to initiate a Lync call on mobile client from desktop?

    Hi All,
    I've go Lync 2013 enterprise voice setup and working lovely. Also have Lync mobile clients working great too.
    I want to get rid of my desk phone, well, because it'd be cool and save the company money of course.
    I want to be able to initiate calls on my Lync mobile client from my Lync desktop client. Is that possible?
    Cheers
    James

    You can't really, as the mobile client can't be paired with better together. There are some instances where you kind of can, such as when starting a conference call you can have it call out to your mobile number, but this isn't really initiating a call.
    You can still get rid of your desk phone, I'd just suggest using your desktop client to make the call with a headset.  I will occasionally just use my iPhone headset, there are cheap 2.5mm headset to PC adapters out there.  And of course you can
    initiate the call with your mobile, but the experience isn't as smooth is all.

    Huff. Sad times. Oh well. Surely someone at Microsoft has thought of this scenario too?
    I didn't ever find that GSM gateway unfortunately. We migrated from Avaya IP Office so could have used that but decided to go full Lync and accept the additional cost of the mobile calls.

  • SAP GUI - SAP Business client - Portal Comaprison

    Hi ,
    We would like to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of NW Business client over portal and normal SAP GUI in all the aspects such as development,performance .
    what is the general/rule of thumb difference between development for SAP BC and Portal ?
    How easy can developments be transferred from Portal to SAP GUI and vice versa ?
    Are there any language specific implications for these objects ?
    Are there any differences for development objects that are developed for SAP GUI and SAP BC ?
    Are there any security related implications when using code that is created for SAP GUI on SAP BC and vice versa ?
    Are there any additional security flags that need to be checked when switching from one to the other ?
    While I cannot have more than 1 active SAP BC session (using the local installed version) can I run more than 1 with the web based SAP BC?
    Thanks

          You may need to copy the transaction code "KKBB" and go to SE93 again, enter the tcode for "KKBB" then click display, now you may see the program name is "RKKB1000".
          Hope this answer your question.

  • Call transaction using bdc tab and also skip first screen??

    Hi,
    Please help.
    I want to call transaction PA30 fill it with values which are determined only at runtime and then skip first screen.
    The screen doesn't have parameter fields so i cannot use 'set parameter id'.
    I also cannot create a transaction with parameters as I only have these at runtime.
    Anyone done anything like this???

    hi,
      you might be populateing the itab bdc_tab with the corresponding values fronm the recording.
    while doing the recording go until to the screen wher u want to finsih.
    and populate the bdc_tab wit the ok code,screen number and the value.
    this will do.

  • CALL TRANSACTION 'MIR6' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN .

    Hi all,
    i hope there is someone that can help me.
    My problem is: in an ABAP custom report in a FORM user-command my code is
      CASE ls_selfield-sel_tab_field.
        WHEN 'ITAB-BELNR'.
          IF NOT ls_selfield-value IS INITIAL.
            SET PARAMETER ID 'RBN' FIELD ls_selfield-value.
            CALL TRANSACTION 'MIR6' AND SKIP FIRST SCREEN .
      ENDCASE.
    When i click on output field of my report, not skip first screen but only call MIR6!!!
    How can i solve this problem?
    Regards.

    Hi,
    First of all Please don't use all Caps for Subject Line
    Test Following Sample Code it will solve out your problem,

  • Skip first screen when calling transaction via  BDC

    I need to use BDC to call transaction FD32 and suppress the first screen. Do I need to set BDC_OKCODE? However, when I set BDC_OKCODE to '/00', this error occured, "System error: Error in routine DYNPRO_ERSTES_BILD".
    Here is my code:
    CLEAR ls_bdcdata.
    ls_bdcdata-program  = 'SAPMF02C'.
    ls_bdcdata-dynpro   = '0100'.
    ls_bdcdata-dynbegin = 'X'.
    APPEND ls_bdcdata TO lt_bdcdata.
    CLEAR ls_bdcdata.
    ls_bdcdata-fnam = 'RF02L-KUNNR'.
    ls_bdcdata-fval = gs_data-kunnr.
    APPEND ls_bdcdata TO lt_bdcdata.

    opt-defsize = 'X'.
    CALL TRANSACTION 'FD32' USING lt_bdcdata OPTIONS FROM opt.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
    Try this..This is working fine for me..
    CLEAR ls_bdcdata.

    APPEND ls_bdcdata TO lt_bdcdata.
    CLEAR ls_bdcdata.
    ls_bdcdata-fnam = 'BDC_OKCODE'.
    ls_bdcdata-fval = '/00'.
    APPEND ls_bdcdata TO lt_bdcdata.
    CLEAR ls_bdcdata.
    ls_bdcdata-fnam = 'RF02L-KUNNR'.
    ls_bdcdata-fval = gs_data-kunnr.
    APPEND ls_bdcdata TO lt_bdcdata.

  • What are the parameters in Call transaction method?

    Hi ABAPER'S,
        Please give me what are the parameters in call transaction method?
    Thanks,
    Prakash

    Processing batch input data with CALL TRANSACTION USING is the faster of the two recommended data transfer methods. In this method, legacy data is processed inline in your data transfer program.
    Syntax:
    CALL TRANSACTION <tcode>
    USING <bdc_tab>
    MODE  <mode>
    UPDATE  <update>
    <tcode> : Transaction code
    <bdc_tab> : Internal table of structure BDCDATA.
    <mode> : Display mode:
    A
    Display all
    E
    Display errors only
    N
    No display
    <update> : Update mode:
    S
    Synchronous
    A
    Asynchronous
    L
    Local update
    A program that uses CALL TRANSACTION USING to process legacy data should execute the following steps:
    Prepare a BDCDATA structure for the transaction that you wish to run.
    With a CALL TRANSACTION USING statement, call the transaction and prepare the BDCDATA structure. For example:
    CALL TRANSACTION 'TFCA' USING BDCDATA
    MODE 'A'
    UPDATE 'S'.
    MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.
    IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
    <Error_handling>.
    ENDIF.
    The MODE Parameter
    You can use the MODE parameter to specify whether data transfer processing should be displayed as it happens. You can choose between three modes:
    A Display all. All screens and the data that goes in them appear when you run your program.
    N No display. All screens are processed invisibly, regardless of whether there are errors or not. Control returns to your program as soon as transaction processing is finished.
    E Display errors only. The transaction goes into display mode as soon as an error in one of the screens is detected. You can then correct the error.
    The display modes are the same as those that are available for processing batch input sessions.
    The UPDATE Parameter
    You use the UPDATE parameter to specify how updates produced by a transaction should be processed. You can select between these modes:
    A Asynchronous updating. In this mode, the called transaction does not wait for any updates it produces to be completed. It simply passes the updates to the SAP update service. Asynchronous processing therefore usually results in faster execution of your data transfer program.
    Asynchronous processing is NOT recommended for processing any larger amount of data. This is because the called transaction receives no completion message from the update module in asynchronous updating. The calling data transfer program, in turn, cannot determine whether a called transaction ended with a successful update of the database or not.
    If you use asynchronous updating, then you will need to use the update management facility (Transaction SM12) to check whether updates have been terminated abnormally during session processing. Error analysis and recovery is less convenient than with synchronous updating.
    S Synchronous updating. In this mode, the called transaction waits for any updates that it produces to be completed. Execution is slower than with asynchronous updating because called transactions wait for updating to be completed. However, the called transaction is able to return any update error message that occurs to your program. It is much easier for you to analyze and recover from errors.
    L Local updating. If you update data locally, the update of the database will not be processed in a separate process, but in the process of the calling program. (See the ABAP keyword documentation on SET UPDATE TASK LOCAL for more information.)
    The MESSAGES Parameter
    The MESSAGES specification indicates that all system messages issued during a CALL TRANSACTION USING are written into the internal table <MESSTAB> . The internal table must have the structure BDCMSGCOLL .
    You can record the messages issued by Transaction TFCA in table MESSTAB with the following coding:
    (This example uses a flight connection that does not exist to trigger an error in the transaction.)
    DATA: BEGIN OF BDCDATA OCCURS 100.
    INCLUDE STRUCTURE BDCDATA.
    DATA: END OF BDCDATA.
    DATA: BEGIN OF MESSTAB OCCURS 10.
    INCLUDE STRUCTURE BDCMSGCOLL.
    DATA: END OF MESSTAB.
    BDCDATA-PROGRAM = 'SAPMTFCA'.
    BDCDATA-DYNPRO = '0100'.
    BDCDATA-DYNBEGIN = 'X'.
    APPEND BDCDATA.
    CLEAR BDCDATA.
    BDCDATA-FNAM = 'SFLIGHT-CARRID'.
    BDCDATA-FVAL = 'XX'.
    APPEND BDCDATA.
    BDCDATA-FNAM = 'SFLIGHT-CONNID'.
    BDCDATA-FVAL = '0400'.
    APPEND BDCDATA.
    CALL TRANSACTION 'TFCA' USING BDCDATA MODE 'N'
    MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.
    LOOP AT MESSTAB.
    WRITE: / MESSTAB-TCODE,
    MESSTAB-DYNAME,
    MESSTAB-DYNUMB,
    MESSTAB-MSGTYP,
    MESSTAB-MSGSPRA,
    MESSTAB-MSGID,
    MESSTAB-MSGNR.
    ENDLOOP.
    The following figures show the return codes from CALL TRANSACTION USING and the system fields that contain message information from the called transaction. As the return code chart shows, return codes above 1000 are reserved for data transfer. If you use the MESSAGES INTO <table> option, then you do not need to query the system fields shown below; their contents are automatically written into the message table. You can loop over the message table to write out any messages that were entered into it.
    Return codes:
    Value
    Explanation
    0
    Successful
    <=1000
    Error in dialog program
    > 1000
    Batch input error
    System fields:
    Name:
    Explanation:
    SY-MSGID
    Message-ID
    SY-MSGTY
    Message type (E,I,W,S,A,X)
    SY-MSGNO
    Message number
    SY-MSGV1
    Message variable 1
    SY-MSGV2
    Message variable 2
    SY-MSGV3
    Message variable 3
    SY-MSGV4

    Error Analysis and Restart Capability
    Unlike batch input methods using sessions, CALL TRANSACTION USING processing does not provide any special handling for incorrect transactions. There is no restart capability for transactions that contain errors or produce update failures.
    You can handle incorrect transactions by using update mode S (synchronous updating) and checking the return code from CALL TRANSACTION USING. If the return code is anything other than 0, then you should do the following:
    write out or save the message table
    use the BDCDATA table that you generated for the CALL TRANSACTION USING to generate a batch input session for the faulty transaction. You can then analyze the faulty transaction and correct the error using the tools provided in the batch input management facility.
