I am working on the subject code. The selection/parameter values are successfully passing to the screen (IW28), but the program takes to the first screen instead of executing directly.

the functionality of both idoc and bapi are same.
the main difference in BAPI is it is used for Third party application like JAVA, VB etc.
and IDOC is used transfer data from the SAP to sap or non-sap system.

and keep as session to process from SM37 to post in appropriate Transaction.
Call transaction method is to post the data directly into the Transaction from an Executable program.

Changes to sales order item not reflected if Call Transaction is used

I m updating another Sales Order item quantity and reason for rejection programmatically from another sales order.
The code is working fine and the quantity does get changed as well as the reason for rejection flag get set (if required). But if I go to the change log from the menu in VA02 for the order item which has been changed. It does not record the changes.
I have tried using both BDC call transaction method as well as BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE in neither case the change log for the order which has been changed reflects the programmatically made changes?
What m I doing wrong. Here is the code.

Hi Srikrisna,
This is a typical problem with BDC for updating QUANTITY and CURRENCY fields.
You need to create a character variable of the same length as your quantity field. Move your quantity value to the newly created Character variable.
Now use this new char variable in the BDC.
This correction should solve your problem.
NOTE: BDC RECOGNIZES CHARACTER FIELDS ONLY.

here is my questions with options below.
In which cases can the ABAP statement CALL TRANSFORMATION be used? (T/F)
-To transform as iXML document object into and ABAP data structure using
XSLT.
- To transform an XML document contained in a string into another XML
document
using and XSLT program.
- To get canonic XML display of an ABAP data structure.
- To transform an XML document contained in an xstring into another XLM
document using an ST program (Simple Transformation).
- To transform and ABAP data structure into an SML document using ST.
Kindly give me the expalnation to each statement with either True or False.

CALL TRANSFORMATION is a new language element in ABAP that we can use to call up the transformation.
The type of transformation:
XML to XML
XML to ABAP
ABAP to XML or
ABAP to ABAP is already determined by the two additions SOURCE and RESULT in CALL TRANSFORMATION.

BINDING.JCA-12510 JCA Resource Adapter - Cannot call rollback when using di

i'm facing a simillar issue with dbadapter while trying to insert a record.
The issue that I'm facing is: (BINDING.JCA-12563)
Exception occured when binding was invoked. Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'insert' failed due to: DBWriteInteractionSpec Execute Failed Exception. insert failed. Descriptor name: http://InsertEmployee.TestEmp. Caused by java.sql.SQLException: Cannot call rollback when using distributed transactions. ". The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception. Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution.
I faced the same issues that have been posted in this thread before but this is a new one I'm seeing.
Following are the configurations that I'm using.
WEBLOGIC ADMIN CONSOLE

General tab:

The general tab shows blank values for 'Native lib dir' and 'JNDI name' fields. Is this normal or I need to populate values into these.
Inside Outbound Connection Pools the javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory created an entry 'eis/DB/10gXE_DBCon'
following is the settings for dataSourceName property
dataSourceName java.lang.String jdbc/SOADataSource
I have kept the value for xADataSourceName as blank as giving the same value of 'jdbc/SOADataSource' throws error.
The JNDI value that I'm using while creating the database adapter from Jdev is eis/DB/10gXE_DBCon where 10gXE_DBCon is the database connection name.
Can you please tell me what is the issue and where I'm going wrong.

I followed your advice and did the changes, that error has gone but a new error is popping up.

The name of the table i'm inserting to is test_emp and it exists in the database.

I am not saying your question in this thread is inappropriate, because it is a good questions. We should just not post code and ask others to fix it here. As for you question about getting the sequence names for a sequence file that is not the currently running sequence file, you will need to open a reference to that sequence files and then use the API calls that I mentioned in my previous posts. You can use the Enigine.GetSequenceFileEx function to open a reference to sequence file, and you will need to close the reference with the Engine.ReleaseSequenceFile function when you are done using it. After you have a reference to this external Sequence File, you can use the example dll and sequence I previously sent you. I also attach a new sequence file (SeqFile2.seq) plus an updated GetNames.seq to illustrate how to use the above mentioned functions. I hope this helps. Have a great day!

How to catch errors in calling program when using SUBMIT ... AND RETURN ?

Hi ,
I am calling a report using submit and return statement from a function module. The report has select-options field for a date field. If user enters a date in low, which is greater than high, getting error message "Lower limit is greater than upper limit".
How to catch this error without endup stoping on selection screen of the report?
In the documentation, I read :
Programs called with SUBMIT ... AND RETURN or CALL TRANSACTION cannot propagate exceptions to the caller, because exception objects are bound to the internal mode of a program.
Is there any way to overcome this?
Also my aim is to write a validation on the date selection-option to have the date range not more than 20 days.
I am not sure of how to achieve this.
Is there a way to do validation of select-options data before submiting to the report ?
Is there any standard FM to achieve this task?

Hi Surya ,
In your function module's code validate the date .
If the low value of the date less than high and date period is not more than 20 then
call transaction and in else condition raise exception.
In your FM write like that - -
IF   date-low LT date-high AND
                       date_difference LE '20' .
CALL TRANSACTION   'transaction'.
ELSE.
RAISE ........... " Raise the invalid date exception
ENDIF.

here if itab is declared as bdcdata...first of all the screen attributes and values are stored in itab..since the transaction code is a collection of screens holding the values of itab..data is populated..
in the sense...
tcode(collection of screens) + bdcdata/itab(values of screen fields, names) --->data populated..

CVP Call Studio is using port 80

Dears,
I have a Call Studio application installed on a windows 7 machine.
Recently I have installed Xampp server on the same machine and everything was working well.
Suddenly the Apache server was down and after some investigation I found out that the call studio application is using port 80 which prevented Apache from starting.
Can someone please advise why suddenly Call Studio started using port 80? what should be done in this case?

I also have Call Studio 8.5 installed on my machine and it doesn't listen on any port. This issue occurred at a customer site two weeks ago and I want to know why suddenly Call Studio used port 80, what could have happened, was the application crashing?
Any idea?
Today I tried to execute the command "netstat -ano" and it showed that Apache process is now using port 80.

Click to Call on WinXP, using IE8 in a SharePoint ...

I'm testing a SharePoint website in IE8 on WinXP. Skype is installed on the machine. When I am signed in to the SharePoint site, Skype is appending the phone numbers with it's Click to Call icon. But, once I sign out, the Click to Call icon is no longer displayed, nor is it in the code.
Has anyone else experienced this? If I am on Windows 7 and using IE9, the Click to Call icon is present in both authenticated and annonymous environments.

A Skype Number does not work as you describe. Please allow me to clarify: a Skype Number is a fixed line telephone number. In either of the two scenarios, below, the call will be recognized as a Skype Number and the call will be routed to your Skype Account for you to answer the call (unless, of course, you have your Skype Number forwarded elsewhere, but that is not the subject of your question!).
Scenario 1:
Whether or not someone is using the Click-to-Call browser plug-in will not matter; the caller will be charged toll or long distance fees if applicable. If your Skype Number is a local call for the caller, then naturally they would not incur any call-related expenses. If working properly, Click-to-Call should recognize any telephone number.
Scenario 2:
If the caller places their call from or using their Skype account, seeing as a Skype Number is a land line number, they would need either to Buy Skype credit or purchase a Skype subscription in order to cover the cost of the call.

Call Excel SpreadSheet using OLE and set format = text

I am working on an object, where I need to call Excel SpreadSheet using OLE.
In SpreadSheet, I need to show data as text (Without Excel Internal Modifications).
i.e
if i pass 03/2007 as month in excel, it should show 01/2007 not jan-07.
I am trying to use the code as below.
call method of cell 'SET_FORMAT' = text.
set property of text 'CATEGORY' = 4.
this code is not giving me desired output.
Is there any other method i can call? or property I can set?
can somebody pls send me a document with list of all formattiong methods and properties. I will really appreciate the help.

Hi,
named queries are made for selects that return objects.
You might try to change your stored procedure to a function returning e.g. 1 (number) and call it with "select myfunc from dual".
If you really need named query support for PL/SQL consider to switch to eclipselink. They have extended PL/SQL support in their latest release.
