Calling a popup from a report

I would like to open a popup window by clicking a value in a report. I am using the following Java Script:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
function customerPopup2 (sold_to_org_id) {
var url;
url = 'f?p=&APP_ID.:7:::::P7_SOLD_TO_ORG_ID:' +SOLD_TO_ORG_ID;
w = open(url,"winLov","Scrollbars=1,resizable=1,width=700,height=400");
if (w.opener == null)
w.opener = self;
w.focus();
</script>
and my select statement looks like this:
SELECT a, b, c ,
'<a href="javascript:customerPopup2('''
       || sold_to_org_id
       || ''');">'
|| HTF.escape_sc (customer_name)
|| '</a>' sold_to_org_id
FROM table
Everything works. I am able to open the page but the value I want to pass to the item on that page is showing:
[object HTMLTableCellElement]
and not what I would like to see - my "sold_to_org_id".
I was trying to do it differently, by using the column link to pass the value of the #sold_to_org_id# to the element of my popup page. That works but in that case the page doesn't open as popup - it opens in the full screen mode.
What am I missing?

Hi,
APEX_UTIL.PREPARE_URL is PL/SQL function, and you can not use it on URL target.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14373_01/apirefs.32/e13369/apex_util.htm#insertedID60
Try following:
Change your report query have one extra column
SELECT ...
APEX_UTIL.PREPARE_URL('f?p=&APP_ID.:11:&SESSION.::NO:11:P11_PERSON_ID:' || PERSON_ID, NULL, 3) AS URL_FOR_JS
FROM...In report attributes set this new URL_FOR_JS column hidden
Then change link column URL target
javascript:popUp2('#URL_FOR_JS#',800,700);Regards,
Jari

    So far I haven't found a way to use something link "target=_blank"One way would be to use a Dynamic Action to apply the <tt>target="_blank"</tt> attribute to each link, or convert them to use APEX pop-ups or a jQuery lightbox like fancyBox.
    Create an example on apex.oracle.com if you need more assistance.

  • Calling a proxy from ABAP Report

    Hi All,
    Can any one gimme some idea about calling a XI proxy from ABAP Report.
    I need to gather data in my internal table and after that i need to trigger a proxy which is going to do a outbound processing.
    Thanks in advance.
    Tnx,
    Joe.

    Hi Meetjoe,
      We have to design the required interface in PI ,that is used to hold the report data when tigerred a proxy and generate the proxy based on the interface if the Proxy is based on the Outbound side its called client proxy  or if the proxy is genereated on Inbound interface we call it server proxy.
    need to gather data in my internal table and after that i need to trigger a proxy which is going to do a outbound processing.
      In your case its gonna be the client proxy refer the follwing links for your better understanding

  • Calling Stored procedure from portal report

    I have a simple portal report. ie.
    select empname
    from emp
    where dept = :dept
    The users can customize the portlet and change the value of the bind variable (:dept).
    On the Additional PL/SQL section of the report I need to call a procedure and
    pass the value of the bind variable. Since the portlet is not being called from
    another, p_arg_names and p_arg_values will not give me anything. In the above example I would
    need to pass the value of ":dept" to the procedure. How do I get the value?

    Hi,
    Have you tried the 'get_value' function?..The syntax is
    declare
    l_dept number(5);
    begin
    l_dept := get_value('dept');
    /* further process */
    end;
    where 'dept' is name of the bind variable.

  • Calling a popup from FPM button

    Hi All,
    The scenario is from SRM (7.0).
    1. I click on a button in the FPM Identification Region lets say - Create PO.
    2. When I click on the button Create PO, it creates a PO in the back ground and gives me a confirmation pop up saying that the PO is created.
    Now my requirement is such that I need to populate the header/ Payment terms texts in the PO.
    As the button being clicked is in FPM frame work, how do I call a pop up and pass the texts in to the PO.
    Best Regards,
    Basha

    I hope someone has an answer to this. I am looking for a similar solution. I do know the Web Dynpro Component for that screen is FPM_OIF_COMPONENT, the view is CNR_VIEW, the "Create Purchase Order" button is OTHER_FUNCTIONS_22 and the method ONACTIONBUTTON_PRESSED controls all of the other buttons (ie. Print Preview, Close, etc.). However, I can't find what happens when the Create PO button is pushed.
    Edited to Add: The Web Dynpro info only applies to the RFx Response screen. Probably not what you are looking at.

  • How can we call a transaction from a report?

    hi
    experts can u help me for this

    check this:
      CHECK sy-ucomm = '&IC1'.
    CASE sy-ucomm.
        WHEN 'MATNR'.
          READ TABLE it_final INDEX selfield-tabindex.
          IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
            SET PARAMETER ID 'MAT' FIELD it_final-matnr.
            SET PARAMETER ID 'WRK' FIELD it_final-werks.

    In this case, if ur report has material code(matnr), plant(werks), storage location(lgort), batch(charg) as the output fields and u click on the material, then it will display the details of that material for the T- code MMBE.

  • Calling SAP transaction from Webi report?

    Hi experts,
    With BI/BW query, we can retrieve data from R/3 source system via report-to-report interface. For instance, from a Purchasing query with data aggregated by Vendor, the user can trigger the R/3 transaction ME2L by clicking on a row.
    Is there a similar feature in BOBJ Webi report? For instance, can we use hyperlink or some other means to do this?
    Any idea will be much appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Linda

    Hi Stratos,
    Really appreciate your advice. Following your suggestion of using blank cell, the server is determined dynamically for the hyperlink.
    However, there're still some issues with defining a hyperlink for table columns. For instance, I have 2 columns in the table - Cost Centre and Cost Element. SAP transactions KS03 and KA03 are to be launched respectively for these 2 columns. The value of the clicked column (Cost Centre, Cost Element) is to be passed to the SAP transaction.
    I've created the following hyperlink for the Cost Centre column:
    http://[[MyServer]]?sap-client=([Client])&sap-language=EN&~transaction=KS03
    with Tool Tip = [[L01 Cost Center Key]]
    The link is not working immediately, so I adjusted the formula as follows via the formula editor (by adding double quotes for <MyServer>):
    ="<a href=\""[[MyServer]]"?sap-client="URLEncode(""[[Client]])"&sap-language=EN&%7Etransaction=KS03\" title=\"\" target=\"_self\" nav=\"web\">"[[L01 Cost Center Key]]+"</a>"
    Clicking the <tick> button does not return any error.
    When I click on the Cost Center column, the SAP transaction is launched successfully. However, there're still a few issues:
    1) The Cost Center Key is not passed to the SAP transaction. Is Tool Tip the way to go?
    2) When checking the hyperlink (via right-click > Hyperlinks > Edit Hyperlink), I found the Tool Tip (L01 Cost Center Key) has disappeared
    3) After I've clicked <OK> to exit the Edit Hyperlink window, I got the error message 'Invalid character '[[MyServer]]' at position 14. (Error: WIS10080)'.
    -- It seems correct syntax in the formula editor is considered invalid in the hyperlink editor.
    Do you mind commenting on what could have caused the above issues?
    Thanks again for your time.
    Linda

  • Calling a form from a report

  • Calling custom Infotype method from ABAP report

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on an application where i need to call a method of a custom defined infotype.
    I have done this -->
    1. Create a custom infotype 9111
    2. SAP creates a class of that infotype ZCL_HRPA_INFOTYPE_9111
    3. Inside this method there are few inherited method which provide me functionality of insert , update , delete
    i want to call methods IF_HRPA_INFTY_BL~MODIFY,
    IF_HRPA_INFTY_BL~INSERT
    However when i call these method from abap report this method does not work.
    where as when i try to insert an entry using PA30 transaction it works.
    Does anyone know why does this happen and what is the solution?

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/43/21d2254bba2bebe10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    The funny thing is that the WHOLE logic executes without any error messages or dumps or anything. I have now debugged almost every line of code that these methods call. PA30 works just fine. HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION does not .. that's a whole differnt story.
