Calling a subform inside loop

Hello Experts,
We have a requirement where we have to call a subform as many times as number of entries in an internal Table.
Here is the subform:
In the driver program, we have an internal table with 4 languages. I have to do mapping for those 4 languages so that the above subform appears 4 times, once for each language. Later on, if user wants to add or remove any entry, he can do it by using the Add and Remove buttons. Add/Remove buttons are working fine and the user can Add/Remove language details manually.
My question is, can we call this subform multiple times based on internal table entries?
Can you help me with this?

Hello Meenakshi,
The answer for your question, " can we call this subform multiple times based on internal table entries?", is  YES.
Process:
Expected: You are Passing the table as an Interface parameter to the form.
Please keep the Subform which need to be printed for each row of the table inside the Data Subform of the table.
Now you will get the subform printed for each and every line of the form.
To restrict the presence of the subform based on the Internal table entries, write a script to hide/display the subform inside the IndexChange event.
Please let me know if additional details required.
Reward if useful.
Cheers,
Sivanand Ala

    It would have helped if you had posted your code as CODE but as it is, I could hardly read it. My guess about what you are asking is, if you want a template to return a value, just write that value to the result stream inside the template.
    If that wasn't what you were asking, then please post your code in a readable format.

    create or replace package Rewards_Summary_Package as

    end;You've declared your type inside the package. You need to declare it as a SQL type, which is not part of a PL/SQL package.

  • Call a function inside a package from a stored procedure

    Hello:
    I am kind of new to the stored procedure. Does anyone know how to call a function inside a package from another stored procedure?
    I have a existing function (func_b) inside a package (pack_a) and it returns a cursor. I want to call this function from a stored procedure (proc_c) so that I use the data inside the cursor.
    can I do the following in proc_c:
    my_cursor1 SYS_REFCURSOR;
    begin
    my_cursor1 := exec pack_a.func_b
    end
    It will be very helpful if anyone can point me to any reading or example. Thank you very much for your information.

    Thank you for your information so far. I need some more help here. I was able to run the function in my stored procedure. However, I was not able to print the result on the screen to view the cursor result, although I am using dbms_output.put_line statement inside my stored procedure.

  • Call library function inside a conditional disable bug

    i'm trying to call a function in a dll using the call library function inside a conditional disable structure.
    one of the parameters is a pointer to a C structure.
    here is the prototype:
    short in myfunction(short in DevNum, void *pMetrics);
    outside of the conditional disable, LabVIEW allows me to wire the pMetrics parameter to a cluster.
    if i put the function inside the conditional disable, LabVIEW doesn't allow me to wire it.
    as a workaround, i put the cluster inside the conditional disable as well.
    any ideas?

    Simply create a constant of the cluster and and put it outside the disable structure. Wire this constant to all inputs (left side terminal) of the Call Library Node. A Call Library Node (CLN) set to Adapt to Type does need a valid datatype to adapt too. This works from the outside side (right side terminal) of the CLN only if the according indicator is inside the same data structure. In older LabVIEW versions you actually had to always define the left side by wiring a constant or a dummy control to it.
    This has to do with the algorithme that evaluates datatypes along wires. Making that algorithme go backwards (against the natural dataflow) inside one subdiagram without causing circular references or similar is already a challange. Doing that across diagram boundaries (case, disable, loop, etc. structures) is basically impossible without causing the entire edit operation to get very slow.

  • Avoid calling procedure in cursor loop

    Hi all,
    The following sample procedure written in cursor loop,The procedure is called each and every time until the cursor loop ends..
    procedure proc_main is

       proc_test(i.empno,i.ename,i.dname,i.loc) ;
       end loop;
    END;
    PROCEDURE proc_test (p_empno,p_ename,p_dname,p_loc) is
    begin
    select * into v1,v2,v3 ..
      from temp_tab
       where col1 =p_empno
    end;What would be the alternate methods to write the above procedure instead of calling the procedure inside the cursor for loop
    My idea is to use collections ..could you give me the sample code using collections to achieve the above criteria
    Thank You

    The ideal would be to gather all of the SQL logic and put as much of it into a single SQL statement as possible. It would also be ideal to determine what the final outcome of the procedure is and use that as a starting point for your SQL. For example, if the desired outcome is to UPDATE employee salaries where they have an entry in table x, you might find that you can avoid needing to split the logic between multiple procedures i.e. instead of
    procedure proc_main is
    DECLARE
    cursor c1 is
        select e.empno empno
               ,e.ename ename
               ,d.dname dname
               ,d.loc   loc
        from emp e,dept d
        where e.deptno = d.deptno ;
    BEGIN
      for i in c1 LOOP
       proc_test(i.empno,i.ename,i.dname,i.loc) ;
       end loop;
    END;
    PROCEDURE proc_test (p_empno,p_ename,p_dname,p_loc) is
    begin
    select * into v1,v2,v3 ..
      from temp_tab
       where col1 =p_empno
        UPDATE
            emp e
        SET
            sal = v2
        WHERE
            e.empno = p_Empno;
    end;You could simply have
    procedure proc_main is
    BEGIN
        UPDATE
            emp e
        SET
            sal = ( SELECT
                        t.new_sal
                    FROM
                        temp_tab t
                    WHERE
                        t.empno = e.empno
        WHERE
            EXISTS
                (   SELECT
                        NULL
                    FROM
                        temp_tab t
                    WHERE
                        t.empno = e.empno
    END;Even if your logic is more complex than this, you're likely to find that you can merge together many of the statements that you'd be executing in a loop and replace that loop with a join.
    Given the specific structure of what you have posted though, instead of calling the procedure in a loop, you could simply pass the cursor c1 as a parameter to proc_test i.e.
    procedure proc_main is
        lc_c1   sys_refcursor;
    BEGIN
        OPEN lc_c1 FOR
        select e.empno empno
               ,e.ename ename
               ,d.dname dname
               ,d.loc   loc
        from emp e,dept d
        where e.deptno = d.deptno ;
       proc_test(c1) ;
    END;
    PROCEDURE proc_test (p_Cursor sys_refcursor) is
    begin
        LOOP
            FETCH ....
            ...DO SOMETHING...
            EXIT WHEN p_Cursor%NOTFOUND;
        END LOOP;
        CLOSE p_Cursor;
    END;But I would strongly recommend that you consider trying to merge as much of your SQL together before you consider the cursor approach.

  • Calling a function inside a symbol?

    Hi there,
    I'm one of those flash-devs that are trying to get Edge Animate to do what I usually do in Flash, so I might be doing this the wrong way, but I've got a symbol with a function "inside" on my stage, and I wanna call that function from the stage.
    I've been trying to use sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("symbolName").functionName(); but it doesn't work.
    I don't have any problems manipulating the symbol itself by calling .play() or .hide() so I know the path works....can anyone show me the right syntax to call a function inside a symbol?
    Thx in advance

    Hi Abnesher,
    An important principle to grasp is that symbols (and the stage is one of them) lies in parallel, despite the fact of instances of different symbols being nested one in another (and all in fine nested in the stage).
    The consequence is that from inside your nested symbol you have no direct visibility of the function defined inside the stage symbol !
    Inside the Stage symbol, in the document.compositionReady event handler :
    sym.yourGlobalFunction = function( firstParameter)
      // your stuff
    Inside another symbol, in one of its events handlers :
    sym.getComposition().getStage().yourGlobalFunction( 5);

    if ((myFile = new File(fileString)).exists()) { ...instead?
    Winston1) Same thing I put (except change the name "f" with "myFile")
    2) you could get a never-ending loop with your answer (depending on the body)
    3) The previous answer by Encephalopathic would NOT give a never-ending loop unless there was a never-ending listing of files with the name:
    "Foo" + fileCounter + ".txt"; where "fileCounter" is incrementing (as done in his code)

  • Calling a Function inside a procedure

    Can you call a function inside a procedure?...if so....how?

    Not all built-in functions can be used directly in an assignment.

  • Calling abstract method inside constructor

    what will happen if you call abstract method inside a constructor ?

    AMARSHI wrote:
    Then wat is the purpose of that object then.
    When u create an object then the control will move to the default constructor,If there is one. Not all classes have default constructors. Some c'tor will be called though.
    inside the constructor u r having an abstract method.
    But theere are 2 cases now:
    1 the top-level class is an abstract class
    2 the abstract class is an inner class.
    1. for case 1 , u cannot create an object ,so no need of having the constructor.Yes, you can create an object. You can instantiate a concrete subclass. The abstract parent's constructor is still called, and that c'tor may call an abstract method, which will be implemented in the concrete subclass, or some class between it and the parent.
    2.for case 2 u cannot have an object like:
    outerClass obj = new innerAbstractClass()I have no idea what you're talking about here.

  • Call Stored Procedure inside a db trigger

    Is that possible to call stored procedure inside a db trigger ?
    I User this code:
    Create Or Replace Trigger Sale.Send_Auto_Email_Trg
    After Insert
    On Sale.Sale_Technical_Support
    --Referencing New As New Old As Old
    For Each Row
    Declare
    Pragma Autonomous_Transaction;
    vn_count         Number := 0;
    vn_msg           Number;
    vv_exec          Varchar2(5000);
    Begin
      If Inserting And :New.Ticket_Status = 2 Then
       Begin
        Begin
         Select Count(*)
           Into vn_count
           From Sale_Technical_Support
          Where Sending_Flag = 1
            And Support_Type = 2;
        Exception When No_Data_Found Then
         vn_count := 0;
        End;
        If vn_count >= 1 And :New.Problem_Desc Is Not Null Then
         Technical_Support_Mailing('[email protected]',  -- To
                                   '[email protected]',
                                   '[email protected]',  -- Bcc
                                   '[email protected]',  -- From
                                   'رموز وصلاحيات',
                                   2);
        End If;
       End;
      End If;
    End;
    /No errors but the procedure doesn't executed !!!!!

    1) If you are using autonomous transactions for anything other that writing log data that you want to preserve even if the triggering transaction fails, you're probably doing something wrong. There is no reason to use an autonomous transaction here.
    2) You don't want to send email from a trigger. You don't want to do anything non-transactional in a trigger. Oracle will, for example, rollback and re-execute parts of a statement for write consistency. If you send email in a trigger, you may get multiple emails for a single update. You may also get emails for updates that were never committed. And if the email server happens to be down, your transactions will fail.
    3) If you use an autonomous transaction, the trigger will have a completely different transaction context from the parent. So when you query the table within the trigger, you won't be able to see any of the uncommitted changes including the changes that caused the trigger to fire. My guess is that you are assuming that the row that you inserted is visible to the trigger.
