Calling a WebDynpro

Hi experts, I'm new with portal and I'm trying to call a custom webdynpro from the portal using the function call_browser but seems that this fucntion only works in sap gui and not in portal.
Can you explain me step by step what I've to do to call my custom webdynpro?

This has been discussed many times in several forums.
Please check the method CL_WD_UTILITIES=>CONSTRUCT_WD_URL, to create a runtime url for your WD Application and call this URL.

Calling a WebDynpro application from a SRM Badi

Hi - I will like to call a WebDynpro Abap application from Badi/method IF_EX_BBP_SC_MODIFY_UI~SC_MODIFY_SCREEN in SRM. The purpose is to force certain users to put in som "standard" values to be used in the following steps in the purchase procedure. As it not possible to use ordinary Abap POPUP functions modules I have made a small WebDynpro program to do the wanted function. But when I start the url with CALL FUNCTION 'CALL_BROWSER' or CALL METHOD CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>EXECUTE the return code indicates a frontend error from ITS.
Is there any way that I can get over this error and start my WebDynpro from a Badi in SRM?
Or is there maybe another way to send a POPUP for information to the internet user?

Have used fm WDY_EXECUTE_IN_PLACE to start my application. Bu I still get errors as shown below. Do you have any idea of the problem?

Calling A Webdynpro Application From Another Webdynpro Application

i want to call a webdynpro application from another webdynpro application with sending parameters.
i used this method,
CALL METHOD cl_wd_utilities=>construct_wd_url
    EXPORTING
      application_name = lv_webapp
    IMPORTING
      out_absolute_url = lv_url.
CONCATENATE lv_url '?param1=' lv_param INTO lv_url.
data lo_window_manager type ref to if_wd_window_manager.

but this method shows the parameters on the address bar.
is there a method to send the parameters to another webdynpro application without show the parameters on the address bar?

I've used a server cookie before. This was built for BSP, but it is really usable anywhere. It just writes the data temporary into the database. This way you can just pass one meaningless URL parameter - like a GUID and use this key to read the data (the server cookie) upon initialization of the new application. I generally serialize all the data that I want into one server cookie by serializing a class. I can then restore whatever attributes of the class that I want on the receiving side.

Not getting values for HR_READ_SUBTYPE while calling from Webdynpro appl

When we pass infotype,begda,endda and other required parameters and run this FM in standalone we are
getting values however when same FM is called through Webdynpro ABAP application it is not returning values.
I tried debugging and i found out that some buffer issue is there.
But still my problem is not sloved.
can anyone tell me what can be the reason?

Can you tell me how much entries you are getting in return when you run FM standalone.
there may be possiblility of huge amount of data returnning.

Hello,
You would probably want to use UWL in the portal. From UWL you can launch tasks from portal, and with proper configuration (for example with the help of transaction SWFVISU) you can easily start web dynpro applications from UWL.
I suggest you go trough the SAP documentation about UWL. Start for example here:

How to call my webdynpro on a link of KM?

Hi everybody.
I need to know, How to call my webdynpro on a link of KM?
1.I did my webdynpro and I deployed on SAP EP, then my webdynpro are in the repository of Webdynpro on SAP EP
2.I create a navigation squeme on KM for my proyect. (I create my groups and roles, the navigation is correct)
3.I create a carpet on pcd for my proyect, this carpet contain only the iviews of Webdynpro Java Applications.
4.I create a link to my webdynpro and i add the correct roles to my webdynpro.
But when i access, with the corresponse user to see my webdynpro SAP EP display this:
"it couldn't display because you don't hace permision or the access are no link with KM"
I know that I have to set up PCD as a repository for KM, but i don't know how can I do this configuration?
Could anybody help me?

CALL A WEBDYNPRO JAVA FROM ABAP

From the abap code of the transaction BBP_BID_INV i want to call a webdynpro java that shows a table´s content, that is the main problem , anyone has any experience with this?
Can i use portal eventing with epfc?, or bapis? maybe badis? object navigation though the pcd?
Whatis the best option?

And as you said it Java Webdynpro application, it should be possible to generate the URL for the Application at runtime.
I also haven't tried, but it should work. Please let me know if LinkTOURL doesnt suffice, we can try and check if it works.

When I uncheck the enabled property of the Interactive From in the Page of the WebDynpro I am able to execute the application successfully.But the Adobe form behaves as a Static Form when I uncheck the enabled property.
So kindly provide your valuable suggestions to avoid the above error when I am calling a Interactive adobe form from Webdynpro ABAP.

Hello, are you sure you have your ADS credentials configured correctly and valid? I guess you know that is the only difference between clicking enabled on true or false. If you are not sure, you can use SE38, search for FP_* and pick some reports to check the licencing. The names of the reports are good enough to recognize the right one.
Or maybe that is a security problem? Have you checked the ADS_ERROR string? Did you use the ADS trace?

I ve a similar kind of issue at my end. I am trying to call BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 from a Webdynpro application(A2C/000) and using commit work. A new doc_number is very much created, even commit work returns no error.
But surprisingly i dont see this new record in the same destination (A2C/000).
this BAPI is already remote enabled (SE37)

About call a webdynpro program in R/3 report program.

i am searching a report program which was written by my colleague who have left my project.
there is one button displayed on the ALV tool bar of this report program.when i push this button,a message are sent to protal and displayed in tasks,then i log into portal,double click the message,a webdynpro program will be called and used to further process.
i really want to know how i can decide to use which webdynpro program to be call and used. for example,now the R/3 program use the webdynpro program named AAA, i copy BBB from AAA,and want to replace AAA by BBB in this program, how?
i don't know how to meet this simple requirement such as upwards and confused about it. hope anyone can show me some information.

It is not that simple :).
Actually there is a workflow involvedi n this. On clicking the alv button a workflow gets triggered and the task appears in the SAP Inbox which anyway displayed in the UWL of the Portal.
just try changing the SWFVISU transaction entry for that particular task and change the applicaiton name to your new application name and re-register the system in the UWL Admin Pagem, i hope it works.
If you did not find any entry in SWFVISU, the developer might have exported the XML in UWL Administration page in the portal down load it identify the old applicaiton name nad replace it with your new application name and upload the XML

I have a function module in R/3 which returns data in PDF format(Binary). I wish to create a webdynpro application which can call this function module and open the data in acrobat.
Has someone done this or can someone guide me to an eg. where this is done.

How To Create a URL Call in WebDynpro

i want to call a URL (WWW) directly from a WebDynpro-Application. But i found no stuff how to do this.

I have tested both and it is ok !.
If i want to use the "external Link" in my Window, i have know thte Problem.
I use the LinkToURL-Control with the Propertie "_SELF" and allways a new Browser Window come up! Where is my fault ?
I have tested it with the following properties "_SELF, _PARENT, _TOP".

RFC call having problem while calling from webdynpro

I am facing a strange problem .In my webdynpro i have a RFC function module . the structure is like this.
Loop.
<GET current system>.
TRY.
call <RFC FUNCTION MODULE> DESTInation <own system> .
ENDTRY.
ENDLoop
With in the Function module we have created a BDC seesion.
Here the loop is running for 10 times .for the first time it is the rfc call is perfect and a session is created in sm35.
For the second loop run the system is going to hang.and when i checked sm35 the next day 1 session is created (for the second loop)
Like this the session are created in different days .And the session created times are like00:00:04,00:00:08 etc.
I have checked if any hold time is there for the session but there is noting like this .
And i digged more and checked in SM50 there the call is running in background and it is connected some other system though i have given the target system as own system.
please advice me about this and how to find the root cause for this.

Now teh problem is why the sessions are not created at the same time i executed it.ie,on 11:06:2010.
so,please let me know why is call is taking that much long time .(it is very rare for RFC call for such a long time ).

Calling a webdynpro URL in new window from BSP

Hi experts,
i am calling a URL from BSP application by creating a link and on the 'onclick' event of the link ,using following code
navigation->goto_page( URL = l_wd_url session = 'NEW' ).
My problem is ,i have to open this page in a new window(the Page is basically a webdynpro URL) ,so far it is only opening in same window.I have tried different other options.
navigation->next_page( URL = l_wd_url session = 'NEW' ).
CALL METHOD runtime->server->response->redirect( url = l_wd_url ).
navigation->call_application( URL = l_wd_url ).
I tried using call_browser FM also but it is dumping.
href tag will not work in my case as i have to capture the event and write some code inside that event..
Please suggest what i can do now?

I using java script to get that.
After that I don,t know how to assign that java variable to ABAP variable. the
Insted of calling the WDA using the following way

is there any other way to call WDA from BSP based on some action.
