Calling an Portal iView from Webdynpro - Error

Hi,
I have two iViews in a page in my Portal. Both of them are WebDynpro iViews.
The iView on the Left hand side consists of links to different WebDynpro iViews in the same Portal.
I have used LinkToAction UI element, on event of click
i am executing this piece of code.
onActionClick (com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent)
WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute("ROLES://portal_content/folders/X.Iview", WDPortalNavigationMode.SHOW_INPLACE, (String)null, (String)null, WDPortalNavigationHistoryMode.NO_DUPLICATIONS, "Called iView Name", (String)null, (String)null);
I have picked up the iView name from the Portal(exact PCD location).
This is not giving me consistent results.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Had some permission issues in the loading iView, got that sorted. Now it works fine.

I would like to call a portal page (any type) from a WebdynPro ABAP application. I have the PCD location of the page.
Which call shall I make :
Absolute Navigation
Relative Navigation or
OBN.
Also, can anyone send me short code snippet on the following.
The package SWDP test examples are not working.

Above it, the examples of SWDP will not work if you test them from SE80-ABAP WAS...I suggest you to create a WDA IView in Portal and test it in Portal itself.

My intention is to refresh the browser and call the first page of the portal after the portaluser pressed a button in an WebDynpro application.
For this purpose i create a portal application with an JSPDynPage and an JSP how call the JavaScript Method "top.location.reload();".
My question:

1)Creat one action method "ReactPortalEventing" with the parameter dataObject and write the code in wdDoInit method as

Execute a portal iview from VC

Hi,
I am trying to find a way to call a portal iview from VC. Here is what I have, I have an iview created in the portal that I want to call from a VC model through a button on a form. Is this posible?

You can call an portal iView from anywhere with in portal (not only with VC) using relative navigation target, but for VC you have to:
assign system action to the button as Hyperlink and provide the relative navigation target url of the iView that you want to open like:
'/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role/com.sap.portal.eu_ws/com.sap.portal.portal_information&NavMode=3'
NavMode can be as follows:
mode 0 for internal window,
mode 1 for external window with content,
mode 2 for external window with full navigation,
mode 3 for external headerless window
Note: "ROLES://portal_content/every_user/general/eu_role/com.sap.portal.eu_ws/com.sap.portal.portal_information" should be replaced with your iView path.
Check System Administration -> Support -> Navigation -> Navigation Types for more options on you portal.

Calling xRPM standard iView from custom WD ABAP iView

Hi,
We have an issue regarding - calling xRPM standard iView from WD ABAP Application.
Here are the details.
When xRPM 4.0 application is displayed by clicking the Portfolio Management role,
the item dashboard gets displayed. On the leftside, tabs for Reviews, Reporting Cockpits, Colections etc.
are displayed. Below these tabs, we have a custom tab that navigates to custom WD ABAP applicaiotn.
On click of this custom tab, WD ABAP application gets launched in same window instead of Item dashboard iView.
Everything works good till this point.
The requirement is - an event on this custom WD ABAP applications should navigate to standard xRPM iView (like Item Create or Item overview iView)
we tried Object based navigation & firing a Portal event. But no navigation takes place. It stays on the current page.
Is there any Portal setting need to be done for navigation between custom WD ABAP application and standard xRPM iView?

We could resolve the issue to certain extent.
We used the following.
Interface - if_wd_portal_integration
Method - navigate_absolute
and a PCD location of Item Creation page is passed as a parameter navigation_target.
This opens standard xRPM Item Creation iView.
Similarly we tried opening Item Overview iView by passing ITEM GUID in Business_Parameters parameter.
This opens the Item Overview iView but does not refer to the Item GUID passed and throws following error.
An exception with the type CX_SY_MOVE_CAST_ERROR occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
CX_SY_NO_HANDLER CL_RPM_OBJ_MANAGER============CP CL_RPM_OBJ_MANAGER============CM01Z 1
CX_SY_NO_HANDLER CL_RPM_OBJ_MANAGER============CP CL_RPM_OBJ_MANAGER============CM01Z 46
So I need to either pass the ITEM GUID parameter through navigate_absolute method or somehow set ITEM GUID in xRPM context so that when Item Overview iView is displayed, the iView will refer the ITEM GUID.

Trying to opn SAP Transaction IView from Webdynpro

I need to open a SAP Trancation Iview from Webdynpro (on click of some button) and pass some values to the screen fields,
I am using the code below(which I found in many threads):

In IView application property, I wrote:
CRMT_SEARCH_LOC-CARD_NO=<Request.number>
(L.H.S is the screen field name)
then I got following exception at portal:
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : pcd:portal_content/<Iview path>
Component Name : com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction
Exception in SAP Application Integrator occured: Unable to process template 'CRMT_SEARCH_LOC-CARD_NO=<Request.number>', because 'number' is an invalid terminal property of context 'Request.'..

Calling a Portal Service from within a Web Dynpro DC

I am trying to call a Portal Service from within a Web Dynpro development component without sucess.
Can anyone give me some hints on the necessary steps in order to accomplish this task?

Hi Diz,
I tried doing the same thing by following the steps as mentioned by you. Just to re iterate,
1. Created a DC "Portal Application Standalone" project by the name myservice.
2. Created a portal service inside myservice by the ame AmitsService.
3. Exposed IAmitsService.class in the public part.
4 Build and deployed the DC on server and tested it through an abstract portal component and it worked FINE !!
Now..
5. Created anoter DC of type WebDynPro
6. Added SAP_JTECHS -> epbc.prtapi._api as a "Used DC" with dependency build time and runtime
7. Specified the sharing reference in the properties as PORTAL:sap.com/myservice
8. Tried to reference the service using the following code..
IAmitsService portalservice=(IAmitsService)WDPortalUtils.getServiceReference(IAmitsService.KEY);
9.Build and deployed the DC.
10. When I run the application I am getting the following error
Processing HTTP request to servlet [dispatcher] finished with error.
The error is: com.sap.engine.frame.core.load.SAPNoClassDefFoundError: com/sapportals/portal/prt/service/IService
Exception id: [000D6008418B005C0000002C00000D200004163CE6719E1D]

Has anyone created Iview from Webdynpro Java component in CE7.1.
Because the wizard that appears for creation of Iview has only "Webdynpro ABAP"
component.There is no option to create iview from "Webdynpro Java" component.
Althought in portal content--->Template folder i can see there is also
another template for "SAP Webdynpro iview" which i think is for the Java scenario.
But issue is, its not coming in the wizard.Can anyone tell me how to make it appear in the wizard ? It will be of great help to me.

Hi Ashis,
your deployed webdynpros are published under "web dynpro applications". just copy the webdynpro from there and paste it into the portal content section.

Hi Hassan,
a portal component can be called directly through URL.
The general syntax to call the portal component (iView, page) is as follows:
<http/https>://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/<pcd_path_of_iview_or_page>
Replace all ":" in the pcd path by "!3a". Also replace all "/" by "!2f" in the pcd path in the URL.

Calling a Report/Transaction iview from Webdynpro..

          Our first issue is we have a scenareio, where we need to execute reports(ABAP Program) from webdynpro. Is it possibile to execute a standard report from webdynpro? using JCO. Also tell me how to pass the input/output parameters.I am not allowed to create RFC.I can use only standard BAPI.
          Our second issue is we created one transaction type callable object, and we want to call this transaction callable object from webdynpro, in another callable object in GP. Is this Possibile in webdynpro. We tried using portal navigation, but it is working for normal webdynpro iviews only, not for url iviews also.
          Does any body know the answer for the above issues. please let us know.

hi,
1) it is not possible in web dynpro to call abap reports, what you can do is creating wrapper of Remote enabled FM around the report. But you dont have authorisation to create BAPI, so gotta take use of standard BAPIs.
