Calling built-in submenus in Forms 4.5
Is it possible to call any built-in submenu in the Main menu although it's deactivated?
Thanks for any help.
I don't really understand the question - do you want to call the PL/SQL code that is coded into the menu item in the submenu or do you want to display the submenu even though it's disabled?
If you want to call the code, then you put the code in a trigger rather than the Menu item, then use EXECUTE_TRIGGER to call that code either from the menu or from elsewhere.

Hi Expert,
I want to call a report from a form.My problem scenario like, a user is login to his account and there is a option called ADMIT CARD(Push Button).Now when he pressed the button a report will generate.I want that when he pressed the button the user id of the user will passed to the report and the report will generate corresponding to his details which was stored in the database.This scenario is like any online admit card.
Suppose I want a details report of employee whose employee_id=100.How could I pass this value(employee id) to report which will generate a report details.
Thanks,

Calling Report from Menu (Oracle Forms 11g)
I'm trying to call a report from a menu item in a menu (that is attached to a form) in Oracle Forms 11g directly and I'm having some difficulty. I know how to call a report from a form and everything works perfectly.
But since in a menu there is no item called "Report" to attach like there is in Forms, I followed on route which is to attach the "rp2rro" PL/SQL library on the menu file (mmb) and I also even did it on the form itself. Then when you convert a menu using the Forms Migration Assistant, it will comment out statements like "ADD_PARAMETER" and replace with calls to packaged procedures/functions from the package "rp2rro". I set all the parameters
RP2RRO.SETOTHERS('PARAMFORM=YES');
RP2RRO.SETDESTYPE('CACHE');
RP2RRO.SETDESFORMAT('PDF');
RP2RRO.SETCOMMUNICATIONMODE(SYNCHRONOUS);
then made the call to the report:
RP2RRO.RUN_PRODUCT(REPORTS, 'MYREPORT', SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, param_list_id, NULL);
but all i get is the error "FRM-41219: Cannot find report: invalid ID."
The Oracle documentation for integration reports in forms is for when you execute the report within a form not a menu item (that is attached to a form). Any clues?
My environment is:
Oracle (Database, Fusion Middleware) 11g - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
Web Browser - Internet Explorer 7 on Windows XP Professional

Hello,
One option is to use the Web.Show_Document() built-in, with the complete Report Server URL inside. Of course, you can hide some information (connection string for instance) by calling a section of the /reports/conf/cgicmd.dat configuration file.
FrancoisI tried it using the code below
DECLARE
c_relative_path CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := '/reports/rwservlet/?server=';
c_rep_srv_name CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := 'rep_wls_reports_calgf3_asinst_1';
c_rep_name CONSTANT VARCHAR2(30) := 'copy_detail.rdf';
c_desformat CONSTANT VARCHAR2(10) := 'htmlcss';
c_destype CONSTANT VARCHAR2(10) := 'cache';
v_username VARCHAR2(100);
v_password VARCHAR2(100);
v_db_instance VARCHAR2(40);
v_connect_string VARCHAR2(300);
v_rep_srv_params VARCHAR2(200);
v_rep_url VARCHAR2(400);
BEGIN
v_username := LOWER(get_application_property(username));
v_password := LOWER(get_application_property(password));
v_db_instance := LOWER(get_application_property(connect_string));
v_connect_string := v_username || '/' || v_password || '@' || v_db_instance;
v_rep_srv_params := '&report=' || c_rep_name ||
'&desformat=' || c_desformat ||
'&destype=' || c_destype ||
'&userid=' || v_connect_string ||
'¶mform=yes';
v_rep_url := c_relative_path || c_rep_srv_name || v_rep_srv_params;
web.show_document(v_rep_url, '_blank');
END;
and I get a new tab in the browser opening up (which is good at least) with the Oracle Reports Services page saying:
Error
No such Web command ().
Now I've tried putting a URL of a Oracle's website (http://www.oracle.com) and that works perfectly. Another question is, where would the default directory be if I wanted to say call an HTML file? Would it be in the directory of FORMS_PATH where all my fmb, fmx, rdf, pll, etc...files are stored?
Thanks, -
How to call jsp web report from forms 9i
Dear fellows,
How can i call a jsp report from forms 9i.
Thanx
MochooUse web.show_document instead of Run_Report_Object. If the jsp contains a paper layout you can still use Run_Report_Object, but you have to specify the filename extension .jsp along with the filename.

I have uploaded my form to the app server and compiled to Linux. I have copied my RDF file to the reports_path/demo directory. I can run the report via a link from our portal using the URL as follows:
/reports/rwservlet?report=IndRpt.rdf&desformat=pdf&destype=cache&userid=' target="_blank"
That opens the report in a separate window, which is what we want. So far, so good.
I can run the form via a link from our portal as well using the URL as follows:
/forms/frmservlet?config=bsc_ind
The config section hides all the form parameters very nicely.
In the portal, I created a Report Server Access portlet, REP_OMHAST2_MIDTIER, and use the following set_report_object calls in my form:
repid := find_report_object('IndRep');
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTYrepid,REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE,BATCH);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTYrepid,REPORT_COMM_MODE,SYNCHRONOUS);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_DESTYPE,CACHE);
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_DESFORMAT,'PDF');
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTYrepid,REPORT_SERVER,'rep_omhast2_midtier');
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,ls_param);
v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
rep_status := REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS(v_rep);
WHILE rep_status in ('RUNNING','OPENING_REPORT','ENQUEUED') LOOP
rep_status := report_object_status(v_rep);
END LOOP;
IF rep_status = 'FINISHED' THEN
/*Display report in the browser*/
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('http://omhast2.omh.state.ny.us:7777/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||
substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1)||'?'||'server=rep_omhast2_midtier ','_blank');
All that comes right out of the white paper.
Now here's the weird part, I have never seen this before. When I click my "Show Report" button in my form, the report seems to be running, but then I get a very strange dark grey, square icon superimposed over my mouse pointer. The icon has a small yellow "starburst" pattern with a tiny red exclamation point inside. The report does not appear on screen.
Incidentally, all of this works correctly when I run the same scenario on my workstation using the call to rwserver as: rwserver server=rep_omhast2_midtier. But when we port it to the app server, it does not run. I think it has to be in the way the form calls the report because the report will run as a stand-alone object.
Anything apparent to anyone out there?Well, it looks like I stumped the band. And with good reason. Sorry for the error. The problem was that the user running the form and the report had a pop-up blocker that was blocking the report. The form and the report ran from another machine. I allowed pop-ups from the report's URL and that enabled the report to appear.
So, here we have another example of how to call a report from a form. Again, I am sorry for any angst this may have caused. -

URGENT!!! calling crystal reports from oracle forms 10g
Is it possible to call crystal reports from oracle forms 10g?
Can someone help to answer how, if there is a solusion, to call crystal reports from oracle forms 10g.
Please provide codes with details showing step by step.
Thankshi
try something like this.
DECLARE
charWinHandle VARCHAR2(50);
numWinHandle NUMBER;
BEGIN Set_Application_Property(Cursor_Style,'BUSY');
charWinHandle := Get_Item_Property('Control.Rep',Window_Handle);
numWinHandle := To_Number(charWinHandle);
:Item('Control.CrystalReport1').OCX.Crystal.Crysta lReport.WindowParentHandle
:= numWinHandle;
:Item('Control.CrystalReport1').OCX.Crystal.Crysta lReport.WindowState := 2;
:Item('CONTROL.CRYSTALREPORT1').OCX.Crystal.Crysta lReport.Connect
:= 'DSN=;UID=' || Get_Application_Property(UserName) ||
';pwd=' || Get_Application_Property(password) || ';dsq=;';
Crystal_CrystalCtrl.ReportFileName( :Item('Control.CrystalReport1').interface,
'C:\Sample_Rep.Rpt' );
Set_Window_Property( Forms_Mdi_Window, Window_State,Maximize );
Set_Window_Property( 'MAIN', Window_State, Maximize );
:reptitle := 'Report Preview Window';
numWinHandle := Crystal_CrystalCtrl.PrintReport( :Item('Control.CrystalReport1').interface );
Set_Application_Property(Cursor_Style,'DEFAULT');
END;NOTE: Change the report name and path according to your required file name and path in
the "Crystal_CrystalCtrl.ReportFileName" method call. Also, the connection string shown
assumes that you will use the current USER and PASSWORD for the Form.
- To make the above Form generic so that you can run any Crystal report from it, then create
a parameter for the report name and pass it to the Form using CALL_FORM from any other Form.
Then just replace the file name with the passed parameter.
-. Run the Form
If its correct/helpful please mark it thanks.

Calling web service in offline form.
Hi,
I m trying to call web service in offline form with java script.
How can i pass request parameter? How can i get response?
Is there a sample java script code to do it?
Regards.>>I m trying to call web service in offline form with java script.
after you create the webservice dataconnection, drag and drop the WS into layout area. it will create the input fields related to the request parameters and output textfileds corresponding to response parameters.
>>How can i pass request parameter?
using javascript, you can fill those inputfields with the values of request parameters and use the method xfa.connectionSet.WSName.execute(0) to invoke the webservice.
>> How can i get response?
After successful execution of webservice call, the response values will be populated in the response textfields.
>>Is there a sample java script code to do it?
you can see some of the docs:
