Calling COM object from an Applet

Hi,
Can an applet communicate with Microsoft COM object?
Thanx

Check out some software called JIntegra (commercial). Also, I think there used to be some sun stuff... but it got dropped... and then got picked up again... but I don't know what the status is on it.

  • Invoking COM objects from Weblogic EJB

    Hi,
    I am searching the BEA site on how best to call COM objects from
    a EJB deployed in Weblogic. I find rmi over iiop, articles on ObjectBridge
    which are confusing. Is there a sample where a COM method is called
    from EJB server ( I only see example the other way round)
    Thanks,
    Harish.

    http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/examples/com/examples.com.ServerSideDLLClient.html
    This shows use the WebLogic COM compiler to generate and RMI wrapper
    around a COM DLL and invoking it remotely. Unfortunately, the example
    appears to be a little out-of-date (e.g., it is using the old RMI Naming
    style of doing the lookup)...
    Be forewarned, WebLogic COM is not supported in WebLogic 6.0 (due to the
    inavailability of a Microsoft 1.3 JVM implementation).

    Actually I tried out the 'beeper' sample but still have many doubts.

  • How can I call a COM object from a PL/SQL CODE

    Hi everyone,
    Does anyone know how to call a COM object from a stored procedure in oracle.
    a sample of code
    please help,
    Hilaire

    Are you familiar with external procedures? Basically, you can expose functions exported by a shared library (i.e. a DLL on Windows) to the Oracle database. My assumption is that you'd probably need to write a wrapper DLL around the COM object, since I believe you can only pass fundamental data types back and forth (i.e. no object references). You'd expose the method(s) of that wrapper DLL to the database via external procedures.

    You can use Call Library Function node to call that dll file and use it in LabVIEW. Read the help and you will get more details.

    Use separate Apple IDs for each family member and use Family Sharing features of those things (if any) that you do want to share. https://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/

    Archi,
    Take a look at the following link:
    http://technet.oracle.com/products/ids/daily/jul12.html
    You can use J-Integra, one of JDeveloper's Extensions, in your Servlet to call any MS COM objects.

    Sun has released a beta product - its a COM bridge that you can use
    to connect a Java2 JVM to a COM object with. I havent tried it yet
    but I probably will soon.

  • Getting hold of browsers document object, from an applet

    Well, at least that's how i think the problem will be solved.
    The purpose is to insert some text into a hidden field on a form in the html where the applet is embedded.
    so that this can be submitted along with the rest of the information that is entered through that page.
    i've been looking at the AppletContext but i don't think this will provide what's necessary.
    an alternate way of solving this would be to make an http-post with the information, since i prefer using our webserver to perform this.if this is the only way, is there a http-post object i can use for this, from an applet?

    One way is to move the entire form into your applet so that it can do a post and send all the data itself (or vice-versa; avoid using the applet).
    Another option might be to do it in two steps, have your form on one page then post all the details to the next page which contains the applet.
    The only other option I can think of is to use JSObject to call a javascript function. Look at this link http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.2/docs/jsobject.html

  • Security exception when trying to call a DLL from an applet

    Hi all,
    I really hope someone out there can help me. I'm trying to call a windows DLL from an applet but always get some error when the call to the DLL comes. If I run it on the command line (calling a dummy main function that only calls the dll) I don't get any error. However, with the -Djava.security.manager, I get an ExceptionInitialiserError. When running it in a browser, I seem to get any of three errors, the above, securityAccessControlException (as I was expecting) and even NoClassDefFoundError.
    I realise of course that this has to do with the permissions in effect but nothing seems to happen when I change the policy file, so I have to feeling that I'm chaning the wrong file. The one I'm using is the one the JRE entry in the registry is pointing to, Java Runtime Environment->CurrentVersion...
    I even tried giving everything in the applet's directory AllPermission.
    So what I'm wondering is this. Is there any way to check if your policies are actually working and when you update the files, what do you need to do to make the changes take effect?
    Best regards,
    Gsli

  • Calling a WebService from Java Applet

    Hi all,
    In my application I have 3 projects:
    1. server - for all the business logic.
    2. view - for web app.
    3. swing - for applet.
    In the view project I wrote a WS, and I want to call it from my applet. So I created a WS using the Jdev (10.1.3.2) wizard in the view project (I tested it and it worked fine), and in the swing project I created a proxy for this WS, tested it and it worked fine. Then I created a JAR containing the swing project with the WS proxy classes, opened the Applet and find out that I have some classes missing, so I started adding all the relevant Jars and ended with a ~13MB JAR containing all the swing project jars that in the class path for a simple Applet.
    I know that I'm missing something but I dont know what. Do I really need all those Jars. Is there a simple way to call to a WS via Applet?
    This is the list of all the Jars:
    activation.jar
    commons-logging-api.jar
    commons-logging.jar
    ejb.jar

    wsserver.jar
    xdb.jar
    xml.jar
    xmlparserv2.jar
    xsdlib.jar

    Try this:
    1. open the webService data controll in the Data Controls section and drag the method from the webService onto the method call activity in your task flow. This will overwrite the current method property (the one which pints to your bean, make a copy of this entry if you can't reproduce it by hand). This too will create an entry in the pageDef of the method call activity.
    2. reenter (or paste) the original value in the method property, so that it again points to your bean. The entry in the pageDef will remain!
    3. now in the bean method you can access the method via its binding like you access any other method from the binding:
    // GET A METHOD FROM PAGEDEF AND EXECUTE IT
    // get the binding container
    BindingContainer bindings = BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    // get an Action or MethodAction
    OperationBinding method = bindings.getOperationBinding("YourMethodActionNAME");
    if (method == null)
    // handle method not found error...
    // if there are parameters to set...
    Map paramsMap = method.getParamsMap();
    paramsMap.put("param","value")  ;
    // execute the method
    method.execute();
    List errors = method.getErrors();
    if (!errors.isEmpty())
       // handle errors here errors is a list of exceptions!
    // no error resume normal workTimo

  • Procedure to Call Workflow Object from ABAP program in Se38

    Hi All,
    I have one scenario like i have to call one Workflow object from ABAP program in SE38.The scenario is like below.....
    I have to select some records from database table.For example there are 100 records in the internal table.
    For all that records i have to invoke Workflow for getting approval from the authorized persons. Once Approval has come to program, It will post one document in SAP and process ends.
    Please suggest me how to move forward with this scenario.
    Regards
    Manas Ranjan Panda

    Hi,
    So you want to start a workflow from an ABAP, if an event exists for that particular workflow then the best way is to use fm SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT,
    to start a workflow from an ABAP you can use fm SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW.
    Kind regards, Rob Dielemans
