Calling JSP from HTMl

Hi,
I want to call a JSP file from HTML. Is it possibel? How can it be done.
Thanks.

download a standalone server like tomcat or jswdk. tomcat is recommended.
if you know how to write html then make a form with your action forwarding to your jsp page and use a post or get method. actually just look here.

  • Calling JSP from Forms and going back from JSP to Forms

    Hi,
    We are calling JSP from Forms 6i using show_document
    I'd like to go back to tha calling Form from the JSP.
    How can I construct the URL that would lead me back to the same Form and Forms session where the JSP was called from?
    Thanks,
    Arpad

    Thanks Shay,
    works for me too...
    Now:
    when I use the "Back" button of my IE to go back from JSP to the Forms session, it works for Jinitiator 1.1.8.19, but if I use Jinitiator 1.3 I got hung...
    Any ideas how could I make it work from Jinit 1.3?
    Thanks again/

  • How to call jsp from bpel

    Hi,
    My application is to call jsp from bpel and connect to database is it possible?
    Thanks,
    A

    Your requirement really has very little to do with BPEL.
    Every BPEL process is also a web service. So what you want to do is call a web service from a jsp.
    The steps would be:
    1. Use Jdeveloper to build a web service proxy class around the BPEL process wsdl. (the WSDL tab for the BPEL process exposes the WSDL to you)
    2. Call the methods in the web service proxy class from your jsp.

    Neil.

  • Pass data to JSP from HTML?

    I can pass the data in a HTML form without problem if the form is in the same jsp file. I have no problem to pass data from one jsp file to another one. But when the jsp file has to take the data passed from calling HTML file and has to receive the data from the same jsp file, then the data from other HTML file will be null the first time runing the code, then second time will be passed right. If I shut down computer run the code again, same problem until the second time. Please tell me why if any of you know!

    yes. The first part is HTML file which use the form to pass v_progname, the second part is a jsp file, it suppose to get the data in v_prgname, but the first time to run this code always get null, then the second time get the right data?

  • Newbie: Trying to 'call' JSP from CFML (example doesn't work)

    Hi,
    I am (really) just getting started with CFML, so I got ColdFusion 8 Developer deployed onto a GlassFish 3.1.1 server.
    I put a copy of a small hello.cfm into the <GF_DOMAIN>/applications/cfusion/ directory, and when I point a browser to http://<host>:8080/cfusion/hello.cfm, I get the "Hello world".
    So next, I'm trying to 'call' a JSP from a CFML page, and I found this example:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/8/htmldocs/help.html?content=Java_6.html
    I put a copy of the CFML at cfusion/hellojsp.cfm:
    <cfapplication name="myApp" sessionmanagement="yes">
    <cfscript>
    Request.myVariable = "This";
    Session.myVariable = "is a";
    Application.myVariable = "test.";
    GetPageContext().include("hello.jsp?name=Bobby");
    </cfscript>
    and also created a cfusion/hello.jsp per the above link:
    <%@page import="java.util.*" %>
    <h2>Hello <%= request.getParameter("name")%>!</h2>
    <br>Request.myVariable: <%= request.getAttribute("myVariable")%>
    <br>session.myVariable: <%= ((Map)(session.getAttribute("myApp"))).get("myVariable")%>
    <br>Application.myVariable: <%= ((Map)(application.getAttribute("myApp"))).get("myVariable")%>
    In other words, in the <GF_DOMAIN>/applications/cfusion directory, I have:
    hellojsp.cfm
    hello.jsp
    However, if I point the browser to either http://<host>:8080/cfusion/hellojsp.cfm or http://<host>:8080/cfusion/hello.jsp, I get a 500 error.
    In the GlassFish server.log, I get the following:
    INFO: 03/13 21:17:24 Error [http-thread-pool-8080(5)] - coldfusion.jsp.JspWriterIncludeResponse.getStatus()I The specific sequence of files included or processed is: C:\glassfish3\glassfish\domains\domain1\applications\cfusion\hellojsp.cfm, line: 6

    Hi,
    Sigh ... I thought I had this solved, and, in fact, I do get a correct output webpage now.
    However, if I use that small .cfm, with the .forward(), whenever I access it, I get an error/stacktrace:

  • How to call JSp from Servlet??

    Hello,
    I want to call JSP page from servlet.I am using Visual Age For java 3.4. What is wrong in my code??
    if (userExists) {
    f.setErrors("userName","Duplicate User: Try a different username");
    getServletConfig().getServletContext().
    getRequestDispatcher("/jsp/forms/retry.jsp").
    forward(request, response);
    I am not able to get the o/p. Pls help.

    I can't see anything obvious, but did you take any steps towards doing output before this code (like openning an output stream)?
    Not clear what f.setErrors does - presumably stuffs the error message in an attribute of the request.

  • How to call jsp from web dynpro app.

    Hi Frndz,
    How can I call a JSP from my web dynpro(and here i don't want to redirect to JSP ),I want to call a JSP which can show a message window as alert on top  of WDP view.
    Here am using CE 7.2 SP1, and my requirement is to call the model(back end) for every minute interval and need to give alert that how many new records r added.With WDP java i haven't find any option to give alert r notifications about new records added, so am thinking to call JSP where I will pass the parameter which can show a alert r notification(like FACEBOOK n outlook notifications).
    Please share any ideas ti achieve this,
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    If your application should open in a new url, then you can use link to url action to open jsp.
    You can also use EPCF navigation api to call any pcd page as well external links
    i.e
      WDPortalNavigation
          .navigateAbsolute("link",[parameters]);
    Since your passing parameters, you build url in both the cases.

  • Calling function from html tag in dynamic textfield

    Hi!
    Tried several approaches for making this happen, but can't seem to do it. I could really use an example of how to do this in my particular case, since I'm not exactly a code - guru.....
    I have a sprite menu which populates a dynamic textfield  with textlabels as users click individual items in the menu in addition to ordinary actions(gotoAndStop).
    As these labels appear in the textfield, I want to be able to link them to the frames assosciated with the menu - item frames. As you can understand from this, I am working with the timeline.
    By enabling  html rendering of text in the textfield, I have been able to link these output labels via a  a href - tag, but I am not able to call a function from this html. The function I am trying to call uses a switch statement to take the appropriate actions according to which label is being clicked, but the only effect I get is the html opening a browser window...... Unfortunately I do not know how to explain this any better, but here is my code for the following:
    Main Timeline, frame 1, actions layer:
    [AS]import flash.display.*;
    import flash.events.*;
    import flash.display.Stage;
    var buttonTrace:TextField;
    var sectionNames:Array = new Array("Frontpage","Introduction",
    "Designparadigm", "Tooling", "Maya & c++ API", "Geometric Vectors","Lindenmayer systems","Artificial Life",
    "Projects","Litterature","Disclaimer","Site credits","Newsletter & Rss",
    "Blogging","Plugins","LINKS");
    var sectionCount: int = sectionNames.length;
    var menu:Sprite = new Sprite();
    menu.x = 452;
    menu.y = 172;
    this.addChild(menu);
    buildMenu();
    function buildMenu():void {
    for(var i:int=0; i < sectionCount ; i++){
    var item:MovieClip = new MenuItem();
    item.labelName = sectionNames[i];
    item.targetClip = this;
    if(i<4){
    item.y = i*125
    menu.addChild(item)}
    else if (i>3 && i<8){
    item.y = (i-4)*125
    item.x = 125
    menu.addChild(item)}
    else if (i>7 && i<12){
    item.y = (i-8)*125
    item.x = 250;
    menu.addChild(item)}
    else if (i>11 && i<16){
    item.y = (i-12)*125
    item.x = 375
    menu.addChild(item)}
    }[\A]
    Then, for the movieclip called MenuItem, I have button placed on the first frame of the timeline, and this code in the actions layer:
    [AS]import flash.display.MovieClip;
    import flash.events.MouseEvent;
    import flash.display.Stage;
    import flash.text.TextField;
    import flash.events.Event;
    import flash.events.TextEvent;
    var buttonTrace:TextField;
    var labelName:String;
    var targetClip:MovieClip;
    clickButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick);
    function onClick(evt:MouseEvent):void {
    trace(labelName);
    targetClip.gotoAndStop(labelName);
    MovieClip(root).buttonTrace.appendText("\n" + labelName);
    MovieClip(root).buttonTrace.addEventListener(TextEvent.LINK,linkHandler);
      function linkHandler(linkEvent:TextEvent):void {
      switch (linkEvent.text) {
      case"Introduction":

  • Passing values to jsp from html..

    Hi all,
    I have a jsp containing a selection list and need to pass the value to the java segment of the jsp. When reserching this, I've found some info where an html page was created, an initial jsp was saving the info (or bean was used) and then a third jsp displayed the data (using buttons). This is too many steps and I'm needing a way for the same jsp to display containing the selected option (simulating a refresh with the post when the drop down list is used). Is redirecting while setting and getting attributes all at once feasible/possible or is there a better direction or work around for this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Geoff-

    I would think submitting the page to itself, and setting hidden fields to signal that it is a resubmission, may be the way to go. If the new information being displayed is minimal, JavaScript may also work, by setting up an empty <div> or <span> and setting the innerHTML or innerText properties. The advantage of the JavaScript solution is it would be quicker, having the client do all the processing, but it also browser dependant.

  • Call JavaApplet from HTML/Javascript/Php on the button click

    Hello guys!
    I have a JAR file, to establish telnet sessions. Everything is working with this simple piece of HTML code:
    <html>
    <body>
    <applet CODEBASE="."
    ARCHIVE="Telnet.jar"
    CODE="Telnet.Applet"
    WIDTH=500 HEIGHT=300>
    </applet>
    </body>
    </html>
    But there is something more. :)
    I wan't to make a network topology with MS Visio , click on the Router, Switch or on the Firewall icon , and just then run that Java applet.
    I can't find any good example how to achieve this. Maybe this is possible by running Java Applet from Javascript ? Etc. "onClickButton" ?
    Thank you for your time and your answers.
    Any help is highly appreciated!

    Dear programmers,
    could you take a look there, this is a real world example.
    login there with username: test12345 and password: test12345
    http://e-learning.nil.com/
    Then go there, and press "start lab"
    http://e-learning.nil.com/C1257448003E0C9B/ep?readform&pid=lab&code=PA8VVMC3MNT
    Click on the router icon, telnet application will show up.
    If not , go to profile-> devices access, choose " use java applet".
    How this is done without JNLP? Without downloading JNLP file? Java applet shows up like an application, and not in the new browser window?
    Thank you very much for your time!

  • File Not found error when calling Form Post Method to a JSP from JSP Portlet

    I have built a set of JSP forms using post method to call other JSPs. Normally, the code looks like
    <form name="MyForm" action="MyJsp.jsp" method="post">
    I migrated the calling form containing this code to a portlet, but not the MyJsp.jsp. When I submit the form, I get a file not found in Jserv.log
    Exception:javax.servlet.ServletException: java.io.FileNotFoundException: D:\servlet\RegisterCompany.jsp (The system cannot find the file specified)

    I notice that launching the calling jsp from a portlet, my opriginal context that uses ../Apache/Apache/htdocs is not being searched for the JSp. Why is this? Moreover, I try to set up an Alias in httpd.conf file to the this director and use it with the jsp in the action tag, but still get an error that my jsp servlets/Myjsp can't be found. Why is it insiting on looking at servlets context instead of htdocs.
    I have none of these issues outside of Portal30 using IAS.
    regard

    Initially, I couldn't do this unless I moved tghe jsp's up to the root directory of IAS, i.e ../Apache/Apache. Nomrally, htdocs is my doc directory for IAS. I could not do http:\\myUrl\htdocs\myJsp. If I tgried this, I got an error in Apache error logg that said can't find file ..\htdocs\htdocs\MyJsp.jsp.
    If I just tried the the URL http:\\myUrl\MyJsp.jsp with Jsp file in htdocs, I would get an error in the Jserve log that file d:\oracle\isuites\apache\apache\MyJsp.jsp could not be found. Once I moved the file MyJsp to Apache/Apache directory, it could be found using http:\\myUrl\MyJsp.jsp. Later, I delted these files and kept the ones in htdocs and they continued to work.
    I'm confused why launching pages through portal isn't consistant with Apache Standards. Where is the documentation that tells me how to configure context and aliases for pages launched from portal pages?
