mv.setDataSourceName("MVDEMO");
mv.setBaseMapName("CUSTOMER_MAP");
mv.setMapTitle(" ");
mv.setImageFormat(MapViewer.FORMAT_PNG_URL);
mv.setDeviceSize(
new Dimension(256, 256)
mv.setCenterAndScale( 0, 0, 25000000);
mv.setMapRequestSRID(new Integer(8307));
mv.run();
The error message i get is:

Thanks,
I think so, Could you please let me know how I can check if the deployment is done correctly?
Also is MapViewer mv = new MapViewer("http://localhost:8888") a correct declaration?
Thanks,
M

  • Call ejb from browsers

    Hello Developers!
    I deployed my ejb to OAS4081. I call that
    from JDeveloper so it good. But when I try
    to call from applet in IExpl5 I can't
    instantiate the ORB. I've got a com.ms.security.SecurityException : oracle.oas.orb.CORBA.ORB.init
    I coded the CLASSPATH(oasoorb(yoj),client,
    ejbapi...) perfectly, I think.
    If anybody could help, please...
    Thanx!

    Hi there,
              I saw someone on this group had a problem to locate proper classpath
              to call EJB from JSP. I thought if you call EJB from classpath, you are
              calling the bean. But you loss all the EJB functions. To be able to utilize
              EJB features like object pooling. You need to call it from Weblogic server
              using url/jndi, not from the jar directly.
              Any comment? Am I right?
              BTW, my question about calling EJB from JSP means calling through URL,
              not a local path.
              Thank you

    Hi,

    Dont know why it shows error that either the file is not a supported file type or because the file is damaged.
    Please suggest way to solve this error or some other way of calling xml report from OAF page.

  • How to: Call a Report (9i) from JDeveloper

    Hi,
    how can i call a Report from JDeveloper and how can i create a PDF File from an available report.
    I have created both, a jsp file and a rdf file.
    Thanks
    Achim

    Hello Achim,
    You do not need to create multiple files:
    - you can create a single file from the Builder and specify 'Paper anfd Web Layout'
    - save the files as JSP
    In this case the JSP file contains the both layout Paper and Web, in this case you can:
    - edit the web source (JSP) from JDeveloper
    - use Reports Builder to edit the Paper Layout -that you can format as PDF-.
    Regards
    Tugdual

  • Error in Running map from Jdeveloper Weblogic -MAPVIEWER-05523--06036

    Hi,
    I have deployed Mapviewer.ear on an integrated weblogic server and loaded mvdemo sample dataset into my db, and made required changes in map_data_source in mapViewerConfig.xml.
    Now, I am able to run all the demo apps and tutorial. However, when I run the map code(basic map) in a jspx from Jdeveloper, I am getting the below error in a pop-up in the browser.
    "[MVGlobalVariables.getMapCacheConfig]*MAPVIEWER-05523*:Cannot process response from MapViewer server.(MVDEMO.DEMO_MAP:MAPVIEWER-06036: MapTileServer is not read. Please try again later.)"
    In the log, error is "<CacheInstanceConfig> <loadCacheStorageDef> Invalid cache root directory:/scrtach/mvdemomaps\. Cache root directory will be set to default root directory."
    I am using Jdeveloper version 11.1.1.4.
    What could be the issue, esp when demos are running successfully on the same server.

    Ok, so the error comes cause the application is trying to get the tile layer from the server while the Mapviewer server is not ready.
    So make sure you run your application once mapviewer server is up and running.
    Now, for the problem that you get a blank page it is propably a javascript error as mapviewer gives no errors.
    I have made a mistake in the previous post in the HTML section of my code. Give it a try now.

  • Calling Stored Procedure from JDeveloper

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to call a Java or PL/SQL Stored Procedure from JDeveloper ?
    can someone give me some code examples?
    HAPPY NEW MILLENIUM
    Rj

    One way, using jdbc against a stored function ( you need to set up the connection... search earlier postings ):
    try
    Statement call= OpenDBConnections.myJdbcConnection.createStatement();
    ResultSet rset=call.executeQuery("SELECT getCustomerName('"+
    tmpCustomerNumber+
    "') AS CUST_NAME FROM DUAL");
    rset.next();
    customerName_tf.setText(rset.getString("CUST_NAME"));
    rset.close();
    call.close();
    catch (SQLException esql)
    System.out.println(esql.toString());
    For a stored procedure returning a resultset:
    setCursor(Cursor.getPredefinedCursor(Cursor.WAIT_CURSOR));
    try
    CallableStatement call =
    OpenDBConnections.myJdbcConnection.prepareCall
    ("{? = call CRR_GET_PART_HISTORY(?)}");
    call.registerOutParameter(1,OracleTypes.CURSOR);
    call.setString(2,partNumberHist_tf.getText().toString());
    call.execute();
    OracleResultSet rset=(OracleResultSet)call.getObject(1);
    /* use caching result set cuz it is non scrollable stored proc result */
    model = new CachingResultSetTableModel(rset);
    history_tbl = new JTable(model);
    historyStatus_tf.setText(history_tbl.getRowCount()+" matching records found.");
    jScrollPane1.getViewport().add(history_tbl, null);
    rset.close();
    call.close();
    catch (SQLException esql)
    System.out.println(esql.toString());
    On the stored procedure side one sets up a ref cursor... you'll need to define a
    type sqlcur is REF cursor;
    end;
    Again... do a search on this group and you'll find a wealth of info ( and gotchyas ).

  • Calling Ant script from Jdeveloper

    Hello Gurus,
    I am trying to call Ant script from Jdeveloper.
    I am able to call it when i don't use any javac in ant script.
    But as soon as i include a javac command
       <javac srcdir="${src}" destdir="${build}"/>
    I get below error
    C:\ant\windows\svn\AntJava\Project1\build.xml:20: Unable to find a javac compiler;
    com.sun.tools.javac.Main is not on the classpath.
    Perhaps JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK.
    It is currently set to "C:\Oracle\jdk160_24\jre"
    Needless to say i already have implemented all the steps mentioned in the internet.
    I have my JAVA_HOME correctly set in my PATH environment variable.
    I have tools.jar in the CLASSPATH
    Please give a solution from JDeveloper perspective and not a generic one as i am done with all the steps provided in internet.

    any one?????

  • Call Report Builder from Jdeveloper 10g with parameters

    hello , how are you
    i am in oracle forms for long , today i am work in jdeveloper 10g, i want some questions
    1- how call oracle report builder from oracle jdeveloper 10g with parameters
    2- if there aren't call from jdeveloper 10g, what is good report tools?
    thanks.

    I'm assuming that what you want to do is actually run a report from a JDeveloper application.
    To do this you can use the various ways that Reports offer to invoke reports with the report server - including URL & Web Service interfaces.
    More information on these in the Oracle Reports - Publishing reports manual.

  • Call operating system services from Jdeveloper

    How can i call operating system services from Jdeveloper ?
    null

    We do not use JDeveloper but use external procedures/routines called from the database. Then you can call a database procedure to an operating system task.

  • Calling Oracle Developer Report from JDeveloper

    I am using Orale JDeveloper 10.1.2. I can't seem to find a way of producing reports. I read that Oracle Reports developer can be integrated with Jdeveloper. How can I do this? I want to be able to generate reports from Jdeveloper.
    Thanks.
    Lucas

    If you want the Reports integration inside JDeveloper - you need to install the Oracle Developer Suite - the JDeveloper version that comes there has the reports integration.
    For more questions on this try the Reports discussion forum:

  • Using MapViewer from PL/SQL vs Java

    Hi group!
    The MapViewer User's Guide has this to say about using MapViewer from PL/SQL:
    "The usage model for the SDO_MVCLIENT package is almost identical to that of
    MapViewer JavaBean-based API" etc etc .. "For usage and reference information about specific functions or procedures, see the description of the associated JavaBean-Based API. methods and interfaces in Chapter 4"
    If I don't misunderstand the basic concept, in a Java Web App (using the MapViewer Bean) you create a MapViewer object for each HTTP-user-session, like so:
    MapViewer mv = new MapViewer("http://my_corp.com:8888/mapviewer/omserver");
    ... which you would then store in the user's session object, so that the MapViewer Bean conveniently holds the map's state on the user's behalf.
    To do the equivalent in PL/SQL, the User's Guide suggests:
    "connect scott/tiger
    call sdo_mvclient.createmapviewerclient(
    'http://www.mycorp.com:8888/mapviewer/omserver') ;
    The preceding example creates, in the current session, a unique MapViewer client
    handle to the MapViewer service URL"
    Does "current session" refer to the HTTP-user-session? While I've used PL/SQL before, I've not used the PL/SQL Web Toolkit. Is the session handling implicit here (and invisible?) or should the sdo_mvclient be subsequently stored in the PL/SQL equivalent of a (J2EE) HttpSession object?
    YT

    Part of the answer will depend on how you plan to deploy the application. If you have a few, local clients you could go with the traditional client/server model. If you have a lot of clients and/or they are spread out over a relatively large area (like a campus setting), a web front-end will save you a lot of hassels down the road when it comes time to upgrade.
    Regardless of the the front end, I can tell you that I have been greatly impressed with the throughput you can get by moving most of the code to PL/SQL packages. A few years ago we reworked a VB/Oracle app by moving a lot of the code out of VB and into packages, leaving the client to essentially call procedures and format the output. We had more than a 3x performance increase on the same hardware and our network utilization decreased noticably.
    I am now in the process of replacing the client code with Java servlets/JSP, primarily because of the maintenance hassles I mentioned earlier. There are some limitations with an HTML page but most of these have been cosmetic so far.
    We are still relying heavily on PL/SQL packages. The servlet code basically gets a request, calls a package to get the data, then hands the results to a JSP page. The JSP then formats the output and sends it to the client. We are little more than halfway through the re-write, but it appears performance will increase again. Not as noticably as before, but I will take what I can get. As you have seen, once something is rolled out it always ends up getting used more than you anticipated. Better to over-engineer now than have to patch it once it is live.
    HTH

    It looks like it's not picking up the datasource yet it works fine via the local oc4j. From my understanding the datasource is picked up from the connections in Jdeveloper but i've tried adding a datasource.xml to my "Model" tier within the "META-INF" folder but the error is still being generated.
    I've amended the J2SE version to 1.4.2_02 on both the ViewController and Model project properties as recommended within the Jdev 10.1.3.4 documentation. I've also just read the following but i'm not sure how relevant it is as the error seems to be that it can't find a datasource not that the password is not being read.
    "Data-Sources Password Handling and Application Server 10.1.2
    It is important to note that deploying an application that uses connections defined in data-sources.xml developed using JDeveloper 10.1.3 that is deployed to Application Server 10.1.2 will result in a deployment failure. One example would be an application that uses an EJB to connect to a database. This is due to differences in the way Application Server 10.1.3 and Application Server 10.1.2 interpret password indirection. We are expecting a patch for Application Server 10.1.2 to be made available that will allow deployment of these types of applications to Application Server 10.1.2."
    I imported the project datasource files from my old project that were developed in Jdev 10.2.3 rather then creating the connection via Jdev 10.1.3.4 but this still hasn't cleared the error.
    I've spent a few days on this so far so any help would be most appreciated.
    Thanks.

    "Not really. You can exclude the data-sources.xml from the EAR file and rely on the setup of the Global Datasource, created before deployment.
    --olaf"
    Thanks. Yes I did try this but when I setup the datasource via the datasources tab within the console I still received the error. This may have been due to an error on my part but I can't be sure as i've tried all sorts of different approaches over the last few days. I initially didn't have a datasource.xml so there wasn't one to exclude (via the deploy properties in Jdev) I had relied on Jdeveloper to setup the datasource via my connections. I read somewhere that Jdev does this fduring deploy and indeed it works fine for my embedded oc4j and when deplolying from Jdeveloper 10.1.2 so it would seem odd that the same approach doesn't work for Jdeveloper 10.1.3.
    Surely the release notes regarding the password issue is the reason why I can't deploy from Jdev 10.1.3.4 to app server 10.1.2?
    The release notes say that a patch is due to fix the issue with password indirection, Olaf do you know where I can get this?
    Also how do I setup Jdev not to write the datasources during deployment? If I don't have a datasources.xml then there is nothiing to exclude. Is there a setting somewhere in Jdev 10.1.3.4?
