Calling Multiple BAPI's - LUW problem

Hi All,
I am calling multiple BAPI's in a program. After Executing First BAPI - the database is updated after the commit work . but for the second BAPI the database is not commited.
Any Suggestions.

Hi,
1) Are you getting any error messages after the second call?
2) Are you calling the COMMIT WORK BAPI after each call, or just once after calling the BAPI twice?
3) Is the second BAPI call dependent on the first BAPI call in terms of data?
Provide more info on the BAPI you are calling and a code snippet of the program structure, the more information you provide, the more information you will get back from the forum.

Problem with call to BAPI when the data contains spaces

Hi everyone,
I've a table in R3 that has 2 fields which is consulted via BAPI from XI. The Bapi call run correctly while the data don't contain spaces preffixed but when for example the data is ' A31' the BAPI call doesn't return nothing.
The table structure is:
CODE             DESCRIPTION
values:
' A31'               'Desc A'
'A30'                'Desc B'
When I call the bapi with A30 value the Bapi return me Desc B, but when I try it with the value ' A31' the Bapi doesn't return any value.
Could anyone help me?

Are you able to get expected results while testing the BAPI with data containing spaces?
I have seen some cases where you get correct results when you test the RFC in SE 37, but the same data when passed from XI does not get the desired results. It was coz. when testing the RFC in R/3 some user exits are called and the data fets populated in the correct way. Check this.

Multiple BAPI calls in RFC Adapter

Hi, Dear Friends!
I have asynchronous scenario File to RFC(BAPI).
File contains raws. For each raw I need to execute BAPI.
With the help of each raw I need to construct one document in R/3 database with the help of BAPI.
But now my scenario provide only one document (only one BAPI is executed).
I read file to xml structure. This structure contains elements. The elements represent raws of file. But BAPI is executed only for the first element.
How to explain to XI that I want it impement BAPI N times - as number of raws in file (or elements in xml structure).
So how to implement multiple BAPI calls. Have you any idea?

Problem with special charecter while calling a BAPI from Webdynpro JAVA.

Is it possible to compose XML in BPM from responses of multiple BAPI calls?

Hi guys!
I want to send into BPM an XML document, which will be parsed and it will call some BAPIs more times. And I need to get response. Is it possible, to compose an XML document from these BAPI return codes to be sent back as response? Concretely I will use SOAP->XI->SAP and response SAP->XI->SOAP... I will use it as asynchronous call..

It depends:
- what kind of bapi is it? (does it have some sort of number?) like delivery number or something else?
if not you'll have to add something
so you can correlate your bapi with bapi response
if you want to know which response corresponds to which bapi call
but you can do it with a bapi wrapper

Call multiple screens from LSMw

Hi
i want to call multiple screens from lsmw
I need to call a three transaction from LSMW wich are subzequent steps for data entry.
1) first tcode to be called is eprodcust which creates some master data and using this master data and some fields of data creatd i need to call two more tcodes first iq01 to create meter and save then eg31 tcod to feed data.
Please suggest where in lsmw can i give options for suc hscnerio and call of subsequent screens.

we have few options to handle such cases , to avoid Locked Problems what you can do is
-->write BDC program within LSMW to create installation ( this will be created within step of 11 Convert Data ).
-->Based on the above BDC results ,run another BDC within LSMW to create Device.( this will be created within step of 11 Convert Data ).
-->third BDC records , let SAP do it thru LSMW or can you do it convert data step itself.
this approch needs lots of codes , so in worst case and if you dont want to break the loadings the follow this.
*Better to find any BAPI which will do creation of installation ,devices

Thing is how can i call multiple records at the same time using the SOAP
adapter i.e i need to make a request to BAPI and in the BAPI response
based on the fields, i need to send to different records....it is Sync call
Can any explain me how to implement this scenario ?

Finalize() method being called multiple times for same object?

I got a dilly of a pickle here.
Looks like according to the Tomcat output log file that the finalize method of class User is being called MANY more times than is being constructed.
Here is the User class:

Every time a User object is created, a static counter variable is incremented and then when an object is destroyed it appends the current value of that static member to the Tomcat log file (via System.out.println being executed on server side).

It really does seem to me like finalize is being called multiple times for the same object.
That number should incremement for every instantiated User, and finalize can only be called once for each User object.
I thought this was impossible?

I am already thinking of ideas to limit the number of threads.
Unfortunately there are two threads of execution in the servlet handler, one handles requests and the other parses the collection of User objects to check for out of date timestamps, and then eliminates them if they are out of date.
The collection parsing thread is currently a javax.swing.Timer thread (Bad design I know...) so I believe that I can routinely check for timestamps in another way and fix that problem.
Just found out too that Tomcat was throwing me a ConcurrentModificationException as well, which may help explain the slew of mysterious behavior from my servlet!
The Timer thread has to go. I got to think of a better way to routinely weed out User objects from the collection.
Or perhaps, maybe I can attempt to make it thread safe???
Eg. make my User collection volatile?
Any opinions on the best approach are well appreciated.

Error while calling BAPI_PARTNEREMPLOYEE_CREATE BAPI using JCO

Hi All,
Our requirement is to create and update customer contact details from java application. For this purpose we are trying to call BAPI_PARTNEREMPLOYEE_CREATE BAPI for create contact and BAPI_PARTNEREMPLOYEE_EDIT for updating contact information. As these BAPIs are of online version, error is coming while calling these BAPIs.
So is there any way to call these BAPIs through JCO or are there any alternative BAPIs available for same purpose?

Hi,
All the bapi or function module available in SAP to create contact person will internally do a call transaction to VAP1 and VAP2 tcodes in order to create or change contact person respectively.
We had a similar problem when we were creating and updating customer contact person using inbound idoc. We then created a bdc recording for the same and then created two function module with name Z_CREATE_CONTACT and Z_CHANGE_CONTACT. In your case you can make this function modules as RFC enabled FM and call them using JCO I guess.

Calling a BAPI in R3 from CRM

I called a BAPI to retrieve information in R3. However, I encountered a problem when our R3 is in the downtime period. It raises a short dump for my program. Is there any exception that I can catch to prevent or other solutions to prevent this short dump.

Generic Data Source is calling multiple times in RSA3

I have the requirement to get data from Generic Data Sources with function Module,
after finishing the FM I have checked in extact checker(RSA)
in the internal table I_T_DATA is displays 281 records,
but in RSA3 it shows 112560 records, I found that the FM is calling multiple time by executing one time in RSA3.
1.what would be the problem
2.where is the porblem is it in FM coding or any other places to check.

Hi Savita,
I don't understand clearly from your reply regarding flow you transported and what all you transported.
You need to first transport objects in R/3 and import them.
Then transport Infoprovider, Datasource in BI assuming depenedent Infoare Infoobject, application component already transported.
Then transport your Infosource, Update rule, Transfer rules, Infopackage.

BAPI parameters mismatch problem

I have been assigned to object wherein i need to insert bapi BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE in function module ZQM06_FM_TASK_GOODS_MOVEMENT. The problem is that i need to fill the structure that i can pass it to BAPI but the import parameters of FM ZQM06_FM_TASK_GOODS_MOVEMENT contain structure that is mismatching. I mean to say that the FM is importing VIQMEL data and from that data i need to fill up structure that would be paased to Bapi BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE .
As of now i am not able to map data into structure from VIQMEL so is there any FM or BAPI available for which i can pass VIQMEL data and it returnns me sales order data which in turn i can pass it to the specified bapi BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE ?

Hi Parag,
There is no any such function module to pass the data from Bapi to normal function modules.
If the structure of the Function modules are different, only way is finding the matching fields of the both function modules.
Check what all are the matching fields and populate internally after calling the Bapi BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE fm. within the function module code itself. Then commit your work. It will definitely work.
But increases the program overhead for you populating and checking all the fields. It is the way to solve this issue.
Because BAPI structures some times will not match with standard structures.
First you try to populate the Item data, with structure BAPI2017_GM_ITEM_CREATE. if this is done correctly you can handle the rest.

Using tiles - servlet filter called multiple times

Hi I have an application in we have 7 filters defined.
Now in a jsp page, I have a loop that inserts a TILE. The loop iterates about 7000 times. Every time the tile insert is called, even my filters are called. So my 7 filters are called 7000 times. Now this makes my page rendering really slow.
setting flush="false" (in the tile insert) does not work
setting buffer="2700k" autoFlush="false" does not work.
I have to use tiles. I cant skip the filters. What do I do? Is there any way I can not call the filter when my tiles are inserted.

Yes,you are right. In iAS6.0 SP4 When multiple requests arrive,and the Servlet's init() method has not returned yet for the first request, the application server calls init()multiple times. This problem is resolved in iAS 6.5.
There is no kregedit magic that will solve this problem.
Right now the workaround is any of the solution you proposed. Or use iAS6.5. I have tested it with fortune.

Oracle Object Type Constructor Called Multiple Times

I have an object type with a custom constructor. In SQL, when I reference the attributes the constructor is called multiple times in Oracle 11.2.0.4.
Why is the constructor called multiple times?
How do I stop it?
My current work around is to reference the attributes and use the /*+ materialize */ hint.
