Calling Oracle Reports with paramters

it would be great, if it is possible to call an oracle report9i with a paramter. The call of oracle report works well, when the button with the URL (for example: http://oas-haj02.hlf.de:7779/reports/rwservlet?CR_FORMULAR) is pressed. Now i want to pass the value of an item of a htmldb-page to the reports as a paramter. How must the URL look like, that it work?

Jochen,
sorry for my last post, I was too hasty.
It was the right answer for the wrong question ;). My solution addressed a report, not calling the url from a button.
This is a bit difficult, since you cannot really add attributes to the hyperlink of the button (or additional handlers to the html button).
So I guess you have two options:
1) create your own button template and code the anchor tag with the attribute target="_blank".
2) use javascript in the url:
javascript:popupURL('http://oas-haj02.hlf.de:7779/reports/rwservlet?CR_FORMULAR');BTW, why don't you want to use javascript? It is used by HTML DB all the time.

    What is the best way to call the reports from the form ??? pls help...
    Thanks in avdance.

    You can use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT with CACHE type, and WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT to view the document on the screen.
    In the Forms help you should find examples.
    If you have access to Metalink, have a look at Note:207396.1.

  • Oracle Reports with XML output showing data as asterik character

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create an Oracle report with xml output. Here is the issue I'm having some of the columns in my report are of datatype number. When I run the report and generate xml file the values for those columns(datatype number) are showing as (*) character, other columns are showing fine. But when I run the report as text output then data is fine. I don't understand why this is happening.
    The property of column is Column Type - Database Scalar, Datatype - Number , width 0,-127.
    Does the width has to do anything with this?
    I'm using Report Builder 6.0.8.11.3, DB version 10g.
    Can anyone please help me with the issue I'm having.
    Thanks

    If the links in your example report1 and report2

  • Use Oracle Reports with Jdeveloper 11

    Hi,
    My next question. How to use Oracle Reports with jdeveloper 11. I have more oracle reports (used with a existing forms application) and i need to migrate this application to web-adf application. I think that is very powerful to use this oracle definition reports but i not know ho to do it.
    thanks,

    Read the publishing reports manual of Oracle reports to see how to Web enabled your Oracle reports. You can then invoke them from an ADF application either by calling a URL or using a Web service interface.

  • Regarding tutorial of how to call Oracle Reports from APEX

    Hi,
    I'm trying to call Oracle Reports from APEX using this tutorial.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/howtos/howto_integrate_oracle_reports.html
    But in the step of 'Create the Oracle HTML DB Application', 'OE' doesn't appear in the LOV of Existing Schema, even though the sample schema exists in the schema and they are unlocked. And when I type 'OE' directly without using LOV, and press Next, the message 'Schema is reserved or restricted' appears.
    How can I create the workspace based on OE schema?

    Hello Shohei,
    I know your following the tutorial, but if you want to call oracle reports from apex it is quite easy though if your working with oracle reports 9i or higher. Just create an html region and put in the source the html code for referencing an url like to_report
    Or reference the same url from a button placed on the HTML region
    (you can create a package that would create the whole URL and returns it as a string, easier for scalability)
    Hope this can help you to (tutorial is good but try and learn from scratch is also good ;-) )

    Hi,

    This application used to work until two days ago. Right now, it is giving this error for some reason. Could some one let me know if I am missing something. Thanks,

    Hi SriLakshmi,
    How are you calling the Oracle Report. Because the error you are seeing is from Oracle Reports and not from HTMLDB.

    no special logic is required
    If u want to use
    RPUAUDOO IN THE ZREPORT.

    ex: In zreport after certain process reacedu want to call then use
    submit rpuaudoo and return.

  • Integration oracle reports with ADF

    Hi All,
    I am getting error-
    REP-110: File spare_request.rdf cannot be opened. REP-1070: An error occurred while opening or saving a document. REP-0110: File spare_request.rdf cannot be opened
    As per Sameh Nassar: Call Oracle Reports From Your ADF Application  & Sameh Nassar: Call Oracle Reports From Your ADF Application (Hide Report Parameters From URL), I have created application. But it is not working Please let me know what mistake I did.
    1. I have created testreports.jsp
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich" prefix="af"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f"%>
    <f:view>
        <af:document title="reports" id="d1">
            <af:form id="f1">
                <af:inputText label="Label 1" id="it3"/>
                <af:inputText label="Label 2" id="it4"/>
                <af:commandButton text="Run Report" id="cb1" action="#{ReportBean.runReport_action}"/>
            </af:form>
        </af:document>
    </f:view>
    2. then,I have created OracleReportBean as per blog and ReportBean.java backing bean in the following ways
        public String runReport_action() {
            OracleReportBean reportBean =
            new OracleReportBean("172.30.1.9", "8888", null);
            reportBean.setReportServerParam(OracleReportBean.RS_PARAM_DESTYPE,"cache");// which will be one of the [cashe - file - mail - printer]
            reportBean.setReportServerParam(OracleReportBean.RS_PARAM_DESFORMAT,"PDF"); // Which will be onr of the [HTML - HTML CSS - PDF - SPREADSHEET- RTF].
            reportBean.setReportServerParam(OracleReportBean.RS_PARAM_REPORT,"spare_request.rdf");
            reportBean.setReportParameter("P_WTYPE", "CSH");
            reportBean.setReportParameter("P_WNUMBER", "13400181");
            reportBean.setReportParameter("P_EQ", "0.40 WM");
            reportBean.setReportParameter("P_Req", "40267");
            reportBean.setReportParameter("P_JOB", "WI");
            reportBean.setReportParameter("report", "spare_request.rdf");
            String url = reportBean.getReportServerURL();
            System.out.println("URL"+url);
            reportBean.openUrlInNewWindow(url);
            return null;

    Well, the message comes from the reports server which is telling you that the report definition can't be found. Check hte name and path to the file on the report server.

  • Call oracle reports from MENU in oracle ebs

    is it possible in oracle ERP EBS R12
    how to call oracle reports from menu [any screen] in oracle ebs erp r12??
    please help

    you may do a few things from menus and by adding buttons, but this is not really standard.
    You may add button on the form or web page that after a certain action or event. You'll have to do personalization / extension and everything is present in oracle for normal report submission.
    Why this is not done thru normal submission ?

  • Hide number (or format number) on Oracle Report with Barcode

    Hi al !
    i have done a example about print Barcode on Oracle Report
    with help link :
    [http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/html/B10602_01/orbr_barcode.htm|http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/html/B10602_01/orbr_barcode.htm]
    However
    I want to hide number under Barcode images or Format number !
    Ex:
    |||||||||||||| --> images barcode
    1234567 --> number barcode
    i want : hide : "123456" or format it : "123.456"
    Thanks !

    Hello,
    The Image is generated by the java code in oraclebarcode.jar
    It is possible to "hide" a part of the image by puting an object ("rectangle" for example ) over the part of the image you want to hide.

    If you are using parameters in the report create a url using ASP variables and concatenate the same to produce a link that invokes the report.

  • CPI-C calling a report with long report name

    Hi there,
    we are communicating to a SAP System with CPI-C.
    My question:
    How can I call a report with CPI-C which has a name with more than 8 characters?
    (I am using SAP_CMLOGON2 of CPI-C SDK for C++)
    I want to use namespaces and 8 Characters are too short for this.
    Any Ideas?
    Thx,
    Andi

    Hi Scott,
    According to your description, you want to call the report which contains subreports in asp.net.
    Based on my research, when we call the report which contains subreports in asp.net, we should attach a handler to the SubReportProcessing event of the report. For more information, please refer to the similar thread: Running
    Reports SubReports and parameters from Asp.net. Besides, you could also refer to this
    article to render the main report and sub report in ReportViewer control.
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
