Calling portal JavaScript from dynamic pages

Where is the Oracle folder where all the JavaScripts are located? I want to use some of these scripts in my dynamic page.
Thanks,
Marcelo

Bob,
You have variables in your procedure like l_status, p_alternate_status which you do not have in the form. Are these IN or OUT variables ?
If these are IN variables, this proc will not work because you do not have any variable in the form. So from where does it get the values? There is not any default declared too. You have to explicitly define IN or OUT variables.
Have you also given execute permission to public ?

  • How to call a procedure from dynamic page?

    I am trying to submit a form (dynamic page) to a procedure but keep getting the generic page not found error.
    I have the following dynamic page (bind variable works properly):
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Example</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <oracle>
    declare
    v_job_id number := :job_id;
    begin
    htp.p(v_job_id);
    htp.formOpen('http://mssdiscovery.ssc.nasa.gov:7777/pls/portal/portal_public.buy_off', 'post');
    htp.formHidden('JOBID', v_job_id);
    htp.formSubmit('submit', 'Buy Off');
    htp.formClose;
    end;
    </oracle>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    This form should submit to a procedure called "BUY_OFF", defined in the PORTAL_PUBLIC schema as follows:
    Create or Replace PROCEDURE PORTAL_PUBLIC.BUY_OFF
    (JOBID IN number)
    as
    begin
    update portal_public.components_jobs_syn
    set
    status = 'COMPLETE'
    where job_id = JOBID;
    /* add code to redirect */
    exception
    when others then
    null;
    end;
    I have granted PORTAL and PUBLIC execute privileges.
    I have never been able to submit a form in a dynamic page to a procedure... it never works... someone please help me out! What am I missing?

    Nevermind... I changed the submit button name from submit to NULL and it works fine now. I guess the name flipped it out for some reason.

  • Calling Portal event from ABAP class

    Hi Experts,
    I need a following clarificatrion, Please help,
    1. Is it possible to call a webdynpro method from a normal ABAP class?
    2. If no, we need a functionality of a class 'CL_WDR_HTTP_EXT_MIME_HANDLER' having method 'DO_DOMAIN_RELAX_HTML'.
    Is there any alternative method which can be used in ABAP having the same functionality.
    3. Is there any ways with which we can call portal event from ABAP class?
    Thanks,
    Shabir

    >1. Is it possible to call a webdynpro method from a normal ABAP class?
    I wouldn't necessarily recommend this approach. You shouldn't try to trigger events or any of the standard WDDO* methods from outside the WD Component itself.  That said, you can pass the object reference (like the WD_COMP_CONTROLLER object reference or the View Object Reference) into methods of normal classes.  Be careful if you are finding yourself calling a lot of your added methods from outside WD.  This is probably a sign that these methods should be in the Assistance Class or some other Class functioning as a Model Object.
    >2. If no, we need a functionality of a class 'CL_WDR_HTTP_EXT_MIME_HANDLER' having method 'DO_DOMAIN_RELAX_HTML'.
    Is there any alternative method which can be used in ABAP having the same functionality.
    What exactly do you want to do here?  Do you just want to get the relaxation script?  For what purpose?  You should never need to inject the relaxation script into WDA.
    >3. Is there any ways with which we can call portal event from ABAP class?
    To what purpose.  Do you just want to delegate the triggering of the event that is inside WD Component to be called from a class?  If so you can pass the portal API object reference into a class from the WD Component.  However this only works while running within WD.
    How is this class used?  Are you running in WD?  Are you trying to generate some HTML code that runs in the portal independent of WD?

  • Problem calling Procedure with parameter from Dynamic Page

    I received an error saying the Page not found
    here's how to reproduce the error.
    1. Create procedure in portal30 schema.
    Create or Replace PROCEDURE PORTAL30.ADD_TWO_VALUES
    v_one IN NUMBER,
    v_two IN NUMBER,
    v_result OUT NUMBER)
    as
    begin
    v_result :=v_one+v_two;
    end;
    2. Create Dynamic Page with following code
    <ORACLE>DECLARE
    v_total NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    ADD_TWO_VALUES(:v_one,:v_two, v_total);
    htp.p('The total is => ');

    ADD_TWO_VALUES.show_parms', 'Re-Execute Procedure');
    END;</ORACLE>
    3. I clicked on Customize Link and entered 2 numbers as values for v_one and v_two.
    4. Got "The page cannot be found" error in I.E. or "The requested URL /pls/portal30/PORTAL30.DYN_SAMPLE_ADD.show was not found on this server." on Netscape
    However when I subsitute "ADD_TWO_VALUES(:v_one,:v_two, v_total);" in the dynamic page for "ADD_TWO_VALUES(3,2, v_total);", it runs just fine.
    What's wrong here? Can I not use a parameter from a dynamic page and call a procedure with it? Help is needed urgently and will be greatly appreciated.
    -Ahsun

    Hi,
    I tried with your code with few changes ,please try with them.
    Create or Replace PROCEDURE <myschema>.ADD_TWO_VALUES
    v_one IN NUMBER,
    v_two IN NUMBER,
    v_result OUT NUMBER)
    as
    begin
    v_result :=v_one+v_two;
    end;
    I created the procedure in <mySchema> and granted that to <application_schema> and made some changes
    <ORACLE>
    DECLARE
    v_total NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    <procedure_schema>.ADD_TWO_VALUES(:v_one,:v_two, v_total);
    htp.p('The total is => ');
    htp.p('<input type="TEXT" VALUE='||v_total||'>');
    htp.para;
    htp.anchor('http://<your_host>/pls/<portal_schema>/<application_schema>.DYN_FOR_OTN.SHOW_PARMS', 'Re-Execute Procedure');
    END;
    </ORACLE>
    Hope this helps.

  • Passing value from dynamic page to form.....

    I have a portal page that has a dynamic page where I've created an html form. Also on this same page in different regions are three other forms which were created by the form wizard. From the dynamic page form I want to pass a session value to the other forms on the same page. Is this possible? I know it's possible from form to form using session apis. I've search the forum and have not found what I'm looking for. Can anyone be of any help on this topic?

    Melissa,
    It seems we have the same type issue.
    Session variable how to's are what I need also.
    There is a site with more information on it...a continuation of the Portal Handbook by Vandivier and Cox at home.covad.net/~idbexperts called an "Unpublished Case Study" - I don't know if it'll hit your needs on the head, but it may help to see it.
    I believe I am trying to hold session variables over til users complete a 4 part form across several pages (may be a space problem we have). Do you know how I start this?
    I don't know how to put p_session variables together, when or where the parameters are necessary and whether a procedure is necessary or not!!!
    If you would like to correspond offline, I am at [email protected] and would appreciate your insights.

  • Pass parameter from dynamic page to form

    I have a report that uses a link to pass a parameter (projno) to a dynamic page. This dynamic page calls a procedure which, using the projno, pulls information from four tables. Depending on who the user is and what phase the project is in, each heading can be a link to a form so that the proper user can update the project. For instance, the projetc manager can update the progress table during phases 2-9. So I want the Progress Heading to be a link to a form so that the project manager can update the progress for a specific project number. I tried to put the link in the procedure like this:
    if iPhase in (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) then
              htp.p('<TD><a           href="/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=6803259033&p_arg_names=projno&p_arg_values='||projno||'&p_arg_names=_projno_cond&p_arg_values=%3D&p_arg_names=_sessionid&p_arg_values=" target="_blank"><FONT FACE="VERDANA" SIZE="2">Progress</FONT></a></TD><TD width="10"></TD>');
         else
              htp.p('<TD><FONT FACE="VERDANA" SIZE="2">Progress</FONT></TD><TD width="10"></TD>');
         end if;
    But it brings up a blank form... no parameters are passed. Help!?

    when I use :projno I get a "bad bind variable" error. But really, I don't think that's the problem. Using the code in my last message, I can mouseover the link and see the correct information:
    http://spring.ous.edu:7778/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=6803259033&p_arg_names=projno&p_arg_values=14&p_arg_names=_projno_cond&p_arg_values=%3D&p_arg_names=_sessionid&p_arg_values=
    When I actually click on the link however, this is the URL now displayed in the address field:
    http://spring.ous.edu:7778/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwa_app_module.show?p_sessionid=2592
    It strips the url of the projno information.
