Calling single action from multiple buttons

Hi All,
i want to call a common action assigned to 2 buttons. the action will have a flag. depending on button click i have to execute method with flag as true/false.
i think i can do this by getting the ID of the button. please let me know is there any method to get the ID of the button clicked or do u have any other solution for this???

Just enter "ID type string" as a parameter above to the code of the action.

P.S: Another way to solve this problem is to use parameter mapping for events of ui elements.

Then enter 1st quotation number & click on COPY or Selection list. Then click on Copy .Then all line items which belong to quoation1 copy to order.
Then,
Click on Sale document and select Create with reference
Then enter 2nd quotation number & click on COPY or Selection list. Then click on Copy .Then all line items which belong to quoation2 copy to order.
Then,
Click on Sale document and select Create with reference
Then enter 3rd quotation number & click on COPY or Selection list. Then click on Copy .Then all line items which belong to quoation3 copy to order.
Now save the sale document.

I once asked a question Re: Calling a Procedure from a Button? & that problem was resolved when i was working on the online ApEx.
On my application, requirements have changed a bit: I have one form based on two tables. One table contributes two fields (name & surname) to the form while the remaining fields are contributed by another table to make a total of 17 fields on the form.
My process is in such a way that a user enters an id number & clicks Search button, if the apllicant exists then both name & surname corresponding with the id number will be retrieved from the database. If the applicant does not exist then an error message will be displayed inline with the id number field. Here's the PL/SQL anonymous block to that:

NB: On my application, there’s already Automated Row Fetch & Automatic Row Processing (DML) processes for one table. Furthermore, there is also a javascript for verifying the validity of an id number. As a result, I decided to include Automated Row Fetch & Automatic Row Processing (DML) processes for the other table. When I click a Search button the javascript is activated even though I did not specify a URL target for the button - because this is a simple button among region items – it does not have Optional Url Redirect section.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here - any help is appreciated.

Sorry for causing confusion with my post - it's just that I was asking the same question (with different constraints) as I had asked before so I didn't feel like going to details was necessary because in my post I included a link to the previous thread. Interestingly, I was working on apex.oracle.com when I posted the original thread - the only problem came to be when I started to move the solution to my application on my machine.

I have a client application which will prepare number of source files and some meta data information (in .XML) which will be used in header/footer. Is it possible to put a run time generated DDX file in the watch folder and use it in Process. If possible how can I pass the file names in the DDX. Any sample Process will be very helpful.

If possible, make use of Assembler API in your client application instead of doing this using watched folder. Here are the Assembler samples : LiveCycle ES2.5 * Programming with LiveCycle ES2.5
Watched folder can accept zip files (sample : Configuring a watched folder to handle multiple input files and write results to a single folder | Adobe LiveCycle Blog ). You can also use execute script to create the DDX at runtime : LiveCycle ES2 * Application Development Using LiveCycle Workbench ES2

The combine files feature isn't available when you're using Reader for iOS. However, you can log on to the web interface at Adobe Acrobat.com using your Adobe ID and credentials, and use the Combine Files feature there.

To have single delivery from multiple Sales Orders you have 2 waysto do it.
The prerequisites are,
A. All sales orders should have same ship to Party
B. Delivery due dates should be same.
C. Incoterms should also be same.
D. Shipping Point should be same.
Once this is ensured, you can either
1. Go to Tr. Code VL10A and execute the delivery document creation for the list of sales orders
Or,
2. Go to VL01N. Give 1st order no. enter into the overview screen
Here, go to main menu, Outbound Delivery ---> Collective Processing- Del. Creation
This will also take u to the same VL10A screen.

OBIEE can join multiple data sources to make a single data model, but it's not a cube in the multi-dimensional sense like Essbase or Oracle OLAP.
To be able to join datasources together they need to have a common dimension or FK relationship depending on what the source is and what you want to do with it.

Possibility of calling standard actions from a java program

Hi ,
I am working for a project where customer wants to have option of saving orders as draft only and later convert to order if need be. However since we do not want many drafts to reside on server there is a need to delete these at a specified time. For draft orders I am using order templates since they stay in the database without getting converted to orders. Now I do not know how to go about the deletion part.
i need to write a program that would run on the server and which would fetch the templates (drafts) that have been created till a particular time and call the delete action of the template. Now the question is how do i call these actions from a java program where this java program will have to run on the server end (ie will be a backend process).
Please suggest.

hello roopali,
you can create a separate thread that will run your
code that will check for stale drafts and delete them.
it is just like a session management program but here
we will be looking over the drafts and not the session
objects.
now if you want the invocation of the action from another
program, a socket program would suffice but opening ports
will cause you network connections thru firewall.
if you can make use of HTTP servlet as your service
provider e.g., you can then just pass some action params
to invoke it.

Calling a Procedure from a Button?

I'm using Oracle Application Express 11g & I'm currently working on an application. One of the requirements for this particular application is that a user has to be able to enter an applicant's id number (in the id textfield) & if a user clicks a button then they should be able to check in the db whether the applicant exists or not. If the applicant exists then name & surname textfields should be populated with values from the database corresponding to the id number & all these three textfields should be read only. If the applicant doesn't exist then the user will be directed to a page where he/she will fill in new applicant's details.
So, I wrote the following procedure to do that:

Calling System.exit() from multiple threads

Why would calling System.exit() from multiple threads cause all the threads to block?

Thanks for your replies.
I made further tests and the problem is actually not as I described it first.
I'm using a shutdown hook that would stop all running threads if the program is stopped externally (using ctl-c for example) (I'm not using Thread.stop(), but setting a boolean value to false that would make the thread exit a while() loop in run()) .
One of the running threads would call System.exit(-1) just before it would exit run().
This thread is getting blocked if it is stopped by the shutdown hook.
I know that this is a bad coding practice, bout would still appreciate an explanation to the reason why the thread is actually blocked by System.exit().

I am surprised by the degree of no replies. I have solved this by using asp redirects such as:
Response.Redirect("test.aspx?UserName="&user)
My formulated solution contains a page with a manually built interactive report. I have a number of bind variables at the top of the reoprt where users can query the information they want based on desginated database columns for this particular report. Once they have the "manual" interactive report displaying what they want, they click a button where a asp script is called with parameters passed that calls a Java based Crystal Reports plugin with the called correspnding report displayed with passed parameters.
Works like a charm!
This solves our reporting needs without having to resort to Bi Publisher (much too expensive) and other third party applications that kinda indicate it can work with apex but provide limited help or best form for doing so.

Calling java script from a button

Hi,
I have a Form and I would like to let the end-user to confirm some action that was initiated by pressing a button. The best way would be to call Java script, but the button is an 'item' button and not a 'region' button - i..e it is placed between items and not above the region, like Save, Cancel etc.
In case of 'item' buttons I do not have 'Optional URL Redirect' field where to place the javascript call.

You can try this..
Instead of using button
Edit the Item to which you want to associate a button.
Go to Element tab
Under Post Element Text enter
 <a href="#" -onclick=call_me() class="t20Button">Click me</a>Note : you need to change class="t20Button", i'm using theme 20 and in that the look and feel of button is derive from t20Button.
remove the hyphen before onclick ..

I found this code somewhere on the net. I should be able to delete a folder with file inside of it.
I need to call this when a button is clicked.
