Calling struts project from ADF Project

Just wondering if deploying Struts Project as ADF Lib Jar can allow to use as part of ADF Project, just like you can do with ADF View Controller project ,
Is it possible?
Thanks,

I bet it's not working. Different controller fro struts and adf.
An adf library is a jar with some special info about the context the lib is running on.
You can try to deploy a struts part as adf lib and see what happens ;-)

    Hi
    I am migrating oracle 11g application to ADF. I would like to call oracle reports from ADF application.

    There is nothing similar to forms-reports integration, but you can invoke rwservlet url.

  • Calling an EJB from multiple Projects, Attn: Shay

    How can an EJB Session Bean in a seperate project be called from another ADF project web application in another project. This is in JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0. The session bean needs to be called as a non-visual object, so no link as a data control, it is just used to get security information and determine what is displayed or control navigation.

    The embedded OC4J can't run two applications at the same time.
    The simplest solution is to just add the project that contains the EJB to your current application as well.
    Another way is to use a stand alone OC4J and deploy both your EJB and the View layer to that instance.

  • Creating ear file from ADF project

    Hi All,
    I have an ADF project which can be built and deployed using jdeveloper. And I have few ant tasks which I can use to deploy not create. Now I want to create an ear file for this project , are there any ant tasks available, if not , what should be my approach ?
    -Thanks

    Hi,
    JDeveloper 10.1.3.x does not have Ant tasks that allows you deploy projects deployment configurations from a command line. This is planned for JDevelopepr 11

  • How to call a process from another project

    Hi;
    How to calling a process from another process in another project? Which activity that i need or web service, direct binding? I use 11g

    Hi Tulasi ;
    I have wsdl of the process i need to call. Also wsdl address on the server. But CALL activity can't use to service call. CALL activity can use only to reusable process call.
    I think, this operation must make on composite.xml. But I have a same problem with this method and it don't work.
    I create a base process that looking at below. It's include a direct binding. Is it include a direct binding?
    [Base Process|http://d1201.hizliresim.com/t/s/21wqu.png]
    Then i create a process that call to base process:
    [Caller Process|http://d1201.hizliresim.com/t/s/21wqx.png]
    I paste to base process' wsdl address on the server. Then i select port type (BaseProcessPortType) and a warning has occured that you see the picture above. Base Process contain Oracle SOA Composite Type. What's the wrong? It happened for Callback Port Type.
    And second question is what's the Address? (under Reference Binding Setails option).
    I think, i create the this direct binding correctly, i call to base process into my caller process via service activities.

  • Duplicate class definition error while invoking EJB from ADF project

    Hi,
    I am using Jdeveloper TP3 and facing the following problem.
    I have built an EJB project and am ran them successfully in the embedded OC4J via a standalone java program.
    Now I created another project with ADF capabilities and when I tried to ping the EJB i get the following exception
    The application named, current-workspace-app, could not start due to an error.
    duplicate class definition: javax/faces/context/FacesContextFactory Invalid class: javax.faces.context.FacesContextFactory Loader
    This is happenning due to class conflicts between javaee.jar and trinidad-impl.jar/adf-richclient-impl.jar.
    Is there any way of bypassing this class loader issue?

    Hi,
    actually I didn' try the JNDI lookup but used resource injection instead
    In a JSF managed bean I use
    @EJB Ejb30SessionFacadeLocal myLocalInterface;
    public SortableModel getTableModel() {
    List rows = new ArrayList<Employees>();
    rows = myLocalInterface.queryEmployeesFindAll();
    this.tableModel = new SortableModel(rows);
    return tableModel;
    Its a EJB 3.0 session bean that accesses a Local interface. However, if the remote is on the same server then I would think that using @EJB Ejb30SessionFacadeRemote myRemoteInterface; does similar

  • Creating a new RH9 HTML project from legacy project

    Hello,
    I am contemplating creating a new project from scratch from the monster that my current RH9 HTML project has become. I would appreciate advice on whether this is the best approach and if so, how to proceed. Here is background:
    I have an RH9 HTML project with 3500+ topics. This project was created with the first version of RoboHelp, back in the Blue Sky software days, about 15 years ago. Each time the RH software was sold to a new company, we ran into major issues with conversions and upgrades. The project kept growing and several times we ran into problems that had to be escalated to the top levels of support with the current owner of the software. Many times the best we could do is create workarounds. The number of files created over the years for this project has become enormous and I'm sure there are many which could be safely deleted but I'm not sure how to find out which ones without lots of trial and painful error.
    The most recent issue that came up was the sudden disappearance of all links between map IDs and topic titles for my context-sensitive topics. I posted here but eventually went to Adobe Support. After long and involved conversation and testing, we determined that one of the topics was corrupted and I was advised to start deleting topics and adding them back until the bad one was discovered. It was a very time-consuming process, and is an example of the other problems encountered, usually one major meltdown like this per year, give or take.
    The project was first created in MS Word 97, with lots of fancy formatting and frills. Eventually I was convinced by members of this forum to switch to RH HTML, so most of that formatting went away, but sometimes not in a nice way.
    So bottom line, I have way too many files, lots of them are messy, and I want to make a nice, clean project and have an easier life.
    What do you experts have to say?
    Thank you.
    Carma

    Good luck?
    The problem with something like this is that it sounds like the topics have built up some horrible code along the way.
    Would you like me to take a prima facie look?
    Contact me via my site if you would.

  • Is it possible to call OAF Page from ADF Page

    Hi,
    Is it possible to open E-Business suite OAF page from ADF ??
    Our requirement as follows:
    In ADF page have the Order Number as hyper-link, if user click on hyper-link we have to pass Order_Id and open OAF page of Order Management in E-Business Suite. This OAF Page has has the corresponding Order Line for given Order_Id.
    If this is possible, how authentication/security works between ADF and OAF. Is the user which as logged into ADF will authenticate in OAF Page also ? How it works ??

  • Call struts action from javascript?

    Hi all
    I'm having problem already discussed here quite a lot, but I have idea to solve it different way. And need to know is it possible or I'm doing mission impossible here :(
    I have JSP with 2 drop down lilsts, where the second is populated according to selected value from first - that's basically my problem.
    Is it possible to somehow only call my struts action which will return all needed values using javascript and onchange event handler?
    I dont have any experience with javascript, and I'm trying to avoid it as much as possible at the moment.
    Thanks in advance

    well as far your requirement is concern if at all you are planning to implement AJAX try to use the below link which might be of some help...
    http://www.it-eye.nl/weblog/2005/12/13/ajax-in-struts-implementing-dependend-select-boxes/
    However,I somehow feel there are few loopholes in the author's approach...
    i advice to use XmlHttpRequest.reponseXML property there.
    However, i've mentioned a sample code snippet for you reference.
    XML Response Pattern :

    </dropdown>Sample.jsp:

  • JDeveloper - ADF Faces projects - calling a jspx from another project

    I have an ADF Faces project which has a jspx file and a backing bean. The jspx file is called 1.jspx and the backing bean is called 1.java. Navigation within the page and outside of the page is controlled by the faces-config.xml.
    However, I want to be able to navigate to another jspx in another project. Let's call this jpx, 2.jspx. How would I be able to make this call without losing the current context in my first project? Please note I do not want to have to copy the 2.jspx and 2.java files into my current project.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi,
    according to the JavaEE specs, a J2EE context demarks the scope of a session, which means that as soon as you call out to another application, you start a new session, loosing all the information of the other session. So if you don't want to deploy this all in one application, then you have to find a way of persisting context information (e.g. using a shared database instance)

  • Calling Web services from ADF and JSF Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1

    Hi I need some examples/documentation about building a ADF application (user interface JSP pages) using only web services calls, instead of EJB or any other entities.
    For example, one web service would give details for a customers (parameters ID, Name,etc), another web service return all orders for a specific customer (parameter customer ID), and so.
    Somne advice, tutorial??
    Thanks!
    John.

    Thanks... I already saw this demo, very good, but uses web service input parameter in one page and result in another,
    But in my case I have to do next:
    1.- In one page 1 the result of web service method 1, (customer list) with option to select one of them and view his orders (page 2).
    2.- Page 2. list of customer's orders (result of web service method 2). This method should be called from page 1, with parameter = customer id selected.
    I have Web service data control, buit page 1 and page 2 (OK), but I dont know how to link and pass customer id parameter to invoke web service method 2...
    Any idea, help?
    Thanks.
