Can a PDF be imported in a Web Dynpro Application

Can a PDF be imported in a Web Dynpro Application than deployed into a New Archive and be able to displayed in the browser?  Instead of creating the PDF from scratch.

I am sorry, I did find the tool menu.
I did import it and created the datasources for the form.
And I get this error messege when I deploy:

  • ABAP Web Dynpro: Application Configuration vs Admin Personalization problem

    Hi,
    I created an application configuration for the application MT_ORDER_APP with a component configuration on RPLM_MT_ORDER_COMP.  I changed several Labels and UI Element visibility... and saved.
    When I test this application config for viewing an order of type ZX99, I don't see my changes.  If I right-click on the page, I see that the configuration Id used is MT_ORDER_ZX99.
    Why my Z config is overrided by this one???
    By testing in Admin mode, I discovered that I can personalize this MT_ORDER_ZX99 Config.... But then, the changes are visible to all users viewing ZX99 type orders.
    How to manage to make my Application Config highest in priority?

    Hi,
    how did  you  open in administrative mode?
    to open in adminstrative mode do as follows:
    In se80 ,i.e in the menu bar:
    Web Dynpro Application->Test->Test in Administation mode.
    i hope u can see the option "Settings for surrent config" .

    I have been looking for an option to open a web dynrpo abap application in a new tab in UWL which i created. I have been searching on SDN for this but i could only find the help docs which say how to open a task in web dynrpo abap application.
    But in my case i want to open a web dynpro abap application on click of a  new tab in UWL. The WD ABAP application doesn't have any workflow task.
    Also is it possible to restrict the tabs which user see based on their roles ?

  • ABAP Web Dynpro Application changes in Administation Mode no longer working

    Hi Gurus,
    To apply customizing to a standard SAP Web Dynpro application we used to simply run the application in administration mode. After we changed a parameter to allow for theme application this adminstration mode no longer works. Right-Click simply acts as if you are running the application normally. We have tried to remove our parameter but this had no effect.
    How can we "fix" this error without creating a new custom configuration which will cause the URL to change?
    Thanks,
    Garth

  • Can a pdf be imported to iMovie?

    can a pdf be imported to iMovie?

    Thank you!
    Info:  The screen capture in Preview (File/Take Screensho->From Selection) is much lower resolution than when you "Save As...JPEG".  You have to save every page as a separate JPEG.  If your iMovie is set to apply the Ken Burns Effect to incoming pictures, you'll have to edit the effect to see the whole page.

  • How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro & Database table

    Dear friend,
    I am a beginner of Web Dynpro. I want to develop my simple project like these:
    1. Create my own database table via Dictionary Project such as TAB_USER and have 3 fields: USER_ID, USER_NAME, USER_POSITION and I have already deployed & archived it.
    2. Create my own Web Dynpro Project, and create the input fields as User ID, User name, User position and icon 'Save' on the selection screen and I have deployed it already.
    For the process, I want to input data at the screen and save the data in the table, please give me the guide line like these:
    1. How can I set the data binding between Web Dynpro and Database table ?
    2.  Are there any nescessary steps that I will concern for this case?
    Sorry if my question is simple, I had try  to find solution myself, but it not found
    Thanks in advances,
    SeMs

    Hi,
    You can write your own connection class for establishing the connection with DB.
    Ex:
    public class  ConnectionClass {
    static Connection con = null;
    public static Connection getConnection() {
    try{
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/TSPAGE");
    con = ds.getConnection();
    return con;
    }catch(Exception e){
    return null;
    You can place the above class file in src folder and you can use this class in webdynpro.
    You can have another UserInfo class for reading and writing the data into the DB .

  • How can I call a java object from Web dynpro ABAP application?

    I made Web dynpro ABAP application and posted it to SAP EP.
    For certain business purpose, we need to call external 3rd party java object using 3rd party's java api in Web dynpro application.
    Is there anybody who experienced this kind of java interface issue?
    I know Web dynpro Java environment can fully support this kind of requirement. but regarding Web dynpro ABAP, I couldn't find any clue for this.
    Any comment or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Raymond, ABAP Consultant

    if you have jco configured, then you can make calls to java api from ABAP .

  • Can I Design a Forum with using web dynpro for java?

    Hi All:
        Can i design a forum with using web dynpro for java?
        I want to design an application like a simple forum which maybe has many replies.So if i use
    the UI technology "web dynpro for java", i will to create UI elements dynamically.How can i control this
    dynamical UI elements to keep layout ?

    Hi,
    yes you can do that....
    for exaple if you observe SDN...
    you can imagine like....
    A big Transparent Container(TC)....
    Inside that number of other TCs(depending upon the question nd its replies...)....
    In side each TC, again around 9 UIElements....
    one for menioning what is the question/reply?
    other for your description of question/reply...
    other for your name,
    displaing your fourm point... etc...
    So it will be
    for(loop till your (Question+No of replies))
    Create Transparent Container....
    Add Childs to the Container...
    Decide your layout....
    In case if you want to know how to create UIElements dynamically....

  • Can the role info be passed from portal to ABAP web dynpro application

    Hi,
    We have some roles in the portal. We call the ABAP web dynpro applications from the portal. Is it possible to pass on the role from the portal to the Web dynpro ABAP application so that we can use this role information in the application.
    Thanks,
    Pooja

    Hi,
    you can try to add the expression
      role=<IView.PCDUnit>
    as part of the Application Parameters in the iView. This will be the role in 99%. However not all iViews started in the Portal must belong to a role. You can start iViews using page navigation that are not part of a role. Therefore the PCD does not talk about roles but about "units" which is the superordinate term.
    the value will be the PCD path of the role - e.g:
      portal_content/myFolder/roles/myRole

  • How can I convert my Web Dynpro Application to Web Dynpro with GP Interface

    Hi experts
    I am trying to make my Web Dynrpo Application implement GP interface.
    I encountered a question .
    when I added GP interface controller, "Window" component also added automatically.
    But I have already had  a "Window" componet which contains alot of View settings.
    Do I have to Use newly added GP "Window" component?
    if  so, do I have to recreate "Window" Componet whenever I convert to my web dynpro application implementing GP interface ?
    Thanks in advance

    Yes you have to use the automatically added window.

  • Can not run web dynpro application

    Hi,
    im new in developing with web dynpro in java.
    I installed:
    SAP NetWeaver 7.1 Composition Environment SP03 PAT0000 (Netweaver Developer Studio)
    Build id: 200710302120
    and
    SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Java Trial Version (with the application server).
    The WebAS is running and i configured it in the developer Studio in preferences SAP AS JAVA.
    I already developed a little web dynpro application. I want to test this application now.
    I choosed deploy. After this, i clicked on "Deploy new archive and Run"  on the application (followed after the steps of a tutorial).
    After that step i am getting an error (in a popupwindow), which says
    "wrong parameter - http://dmhpnb34:-1/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/Welcome/WelcomeApp?SAPtestId=8" ?
    Does anybody know what this error means ?!

    Hello
    I already developed a little web dynpro application
    have you developed the application in another version or the same which you mentioned in your post
    if you developed in any other version , try to create everything from scratch in the newer version and then try to deploy again

  • Using EJBs in Web Dynpro Applications

    I have recently started to develop Web applications using the Web Dynpro framework. Coming from a pure J2EE world, I must admit that Web Dynpro has a few innovative features that I find interesting for user interface development. The use of component & view contexts, for example, is not unlike the ActionForms that one may find in a Struts application, but pushed a bit further. No complaints here.
    What I do have some problems with is the whole CommandBean paradigm that is put forth by SAP (refer to the document <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/webdynpro/using%20ejbs%20in%20web%20dynpro%20applications.pdf">Using EJBs in Web Dynpro Applications</a>).
    I do understand the usefulness of defining a model that will be used to generate and eventually bind to Context data structures. That's fine. What I do object to is the use of a so-called CommandBean to play that role. Again, coming from a J2EE world, I am familiar with the BusinessDelegate pattern - which would typically be used by a client application to invoke business logic on the server side. I would propose that a better, cleaner way of integrating EJBs with the Web Dynpro framework would be to use a BusinessDelegate for invoking business logic, and importing a separate and distinct ModelBean (instead of a CommandBean) to be used for defining and binding to Context data.
    I have built one Web Dynpro application thus far. Instead of using a CommandBean, I created a ModelBean that extends my business object DTO (Data Transfer Object) (which is quite appropriate for that role, given that it implements all the get & set methods that are required for the business data that I need to model). My Web Dynpro application also makes use of an independant BusinessDelegate that is packaged with my EJB DC - this is a standard best practice on J2EE projects. I have been asked by the people working with me to modify this architecture to bring it more in line with the SAP way of doing things. I am open-minded and willing to learn and accept new ways of thinking and doing things. However, I fail to understand the usefulness of merging structure and behaviour by resorting to CommandBeans:
    - <b>It violates the MVC paradigm</b> by having one object (the CommandBean) serve as both model AND controller as far as the Web Dynpro application is concerned. The CommandBean is obviously a model - since it is literally imported as such into the Web Dynpro application. It is ALSO a controller from the Web Dynpro's application perspective, since all calls to the back-end go thru the CommandBean via one or more of its execute_xxx methods. In contrast, the use of a business delegate by the Web Dynpro application clearly separates the model (the CommandBean... or rather, a more suitably named ModelBean) from the controller (BusinessDelegate).
    - <b>Doesn't carry its own weight</b>. In other words, I haven't yet been provided with any valid justification for going thru the extra effort of coding the CommandBean's execute methods. It's been proposed to me that it somehow serves as an abstraction layer between the Web Dynpro application and the business logic. I would argue that it is the BusinessDelegate's role to abstract away the back-end logic from clients. If one does have a BusinessDelegate available, I would argue there's no need to code execute methods in a separate CommandBean. To prove my point, I would simply point out that all of the CommandBean examples that I have seen so far, either in How-To documents, or in production code, all follow the same pattern....
    CommandBean.execute_doSomething() calls BusinessDelegate.doSomething()
    Not a heck of an "abstraction" layer... I would in fact argue that it is worse than useless. If some major change occurs in the business logic that requires changing the doSomething() operation, we expect of course to modify the BusinessDelegate. The Web Dynpro client will also presumably need to be modified - that's to be expected, and unavoidable. But then, we'll also need to go about and change the CommandBean's execute_doSomething() method - again, extra work for no apparent benefit. Adding and removing business methods has the same implication. All this for an layer that simply adds the prefix execute_ in front of all business method calls... Is this "abstraction layer" worth the cost of creating and maintaining it ??
    - <b>Unnecessarily complicates error handling</b>. I have been told that for technical reasons, it is recommended that all exceptions thrown by the CommandBean be of type WDException or WDRuntimException. But what if the client application needs to react differently to different failure scenarios ? When I create a business object, I might wish to provide the user with an error messages if connection is lost to the backend, and with a different error message if an object already exists in the database with the same attributes. In order to do that, I will have to catch the WDException, extract the cause, and continue processing from there... possible, yes, but clearly less standard and more labor intensive than the classical try/catch mechanism.
    To say nothing about the fact that SAP's own API documentation clearly states that applications using Web Dynpro can reference and catch WDExceptions, but THEY MUST NOT THROW OR EXTEND IT !
    - <b>Produces unnecessary DCs</b>. Page 6 of the aforementioned document presents an architectural view of a Web Dynpro project that uses a CommandBean. Why an extra DC for the CommandBean ?? I created my ModelBean class right inside the Web Dynpro project (in the Package view). That, to me, is where this class should reside, because it is created for no other reason that to be used by this particular Web Dynpro application. What is the benefit of placing it in its own independant DC ?
    - <b>Not a typical application of the Command pattern</b>. The well-documented command pattern (Design Patterns - Gang of Four) has been devised mainly to enable encapsulation of request as objects, thereby making it possible to:
    - specify, queue and execute requests at different times
    - decouple execution of a command from its invoker
    - support undo operations
    - support logging changes so that they can be reapplied in case of system crash making it possible to assemble commands into composite commands (macros), thereby structuring a system around high-level operations built on primitive operations.
    None of this applies to the way the SAP CommandBeans are being used. Not that much of an issue to people new to J2EE and/or OO development... but quite confusing for those already familiar with the classic Command pattern.
    At this point, I fail to understand the advantage of merging structure (model) and behaviour (execute methods) through the use of a unique CommandBean object. Am I missing something ?

    Hi Romeo,
    You would be disappointed, this reply ain't anywhere nearby to what you are talking about...
    I wanted to mail you, but you have not mentioned your email in your profile.
    I am really impressed by your flair for writing. It would be far better had you written a blog on this topic. Believe me, it would really be better. There is a much wider audience waiting out there to read your views rather than on the forums. This is what I believe. To top it, you would be rewarded for writing something like this from SDN. On the blogs too, people can comment and all, difference being there you would be rewarded by SDN, here people who reply to you would be rewarded by you. Doesn't make  much a difference.
    Anyways the ball is still in your court
    As far as I am concerned, it has still not been much time since I have started working on Web Dynpro. So can't really comment on the issue...
    Bye

  • Using CSS for Web dynpro application in EP

    Hi,
    I have some CSS (Style sheets) which I need to apply to the portal, so that all the web dynpro applications can have the same look and feel.
    I read something about Theme Editor in EP. Can I somehow use that to import the CSS contents into the EP theme?
    Any pointer to using CSS for Web Dynpro applications will be appreciated.

  • How to display the error message during the web dynpro application runtime

    hi,
        I'm a java developer,During i 'deploy and run ' a web dynpro application on server-1,if the application have some runtime errors. there are displayed many infomation about the runtime error,such as exception track,etc.
        But when i do the same on server-2,there just show something like:
                500   Internal Server Error
                                    SAP NetWeaver Application Server 7.00/Java AS 7.00
                Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.
    but the server-1 will stop the j2ee engine.
    how can do i make server-2 show detail error message as server-1. when i debug web dynpro application need these infomation.
    Appreciate your inputs...

    The Sap-Notes 962319:
    1. Check in the Visual Administrator, "Licensing Adapter" -> "General" -> "SystemType" !
    If it is set to "DEVELOPMENT_MODE", verbose error messages are shown.
    If it is undefined, proceed with the next step.
    If it is set to something else, only exception IDs are shown. In this case the only chance is to search for this exception ID in the default traces.
    2. If the system type is undefined, then in the Config Tool "Configurations" -> "webdynpro" -> "sap.com" -> "tcwddispwda" -> "Propertysheet default" -> "DevelopmentMode" is evaluated. If it is "true", verbose error messages are shown.
    3. If verbose error messages are required but still the short version is shown, you probably face an error message that is not raised by Web Dynpro but by other components of the NetWeaver. In the Visual Administrator set "Properties" -> "HTTP Provider" -> "DetailedErrorResponse" to "true".
    4. In addition to the error page shown in the browser or client, important messages - including error messages and stack traces - are written to the log and trace files, e.g. to the default traces usr\sap\<SID>\<instance>\j2ee\cluster\server<number>\log\defaulttrace.trc.<number>.
    a) In some cases, when an exception ID is included in the error message, the detailed error message can easily be retrieved in the log file.
    b) When no exception ID is given, you have to search for the detailed error message in the log specifying time stamp and/or user ID.
    Always consider restarting the system after making changes on the settings.
    It is not recommended to switch the "SystemType" to an inappropriate value just for viewing verbose error messages. The system type potentially affects framework, applications and licensing in an perhaps unintended way.
    In the past there was no distinction between different system types regarding error messages. For security reasons this distiction has been introduced. It is not intended to show stack traces in non-development systems in the future. SAP does not provide workarounds or patches to enable such a behaviour again.

  • Error message display in web dynpro application?

    Hi All,
    In my web dynpro application I am displaying error messages but the focus does not go to the field where error occured and also if I click on the error message it does not lead to the place of error.
    And also when I navigate to another view the error message does not go.
    Below is my code:
    *    report message
          DATA err1_text TYPE syst-msgv1.
          err1_text = wd_assist->if_wd_component_assistance~get_text( key = '002' ).

    Hi,
    I got your point.. in the BIND_TABLE( set_intiail_elemts = abap_true) change this to ABAP_FALSE.
    Because of this you are gettng the intiial values. Eventhough your table has no BALNK/space records.
    bind a single element
      node->bind_table(
        new_items             =  lt_year_list
        set_initial_elements = abap_true ).
    change as
    bind a single element
      node->bind_table(
        new_items             =  lt_year_list
        set_initial_elements = abap_false ).
    You can use this code - I have tjhe dropdwon for projects event I'm doing the same.
    navigate from <CONTEXT> to <PROJECT> via lead selection
      lo_nd_project = wd_context->get_child_node( 'PROJECT' ).
    ***Gets the selected project id from drop down
      if lo_nd_project is not initial.
        CALL METHOD lo_nd_project->GET_LEAD_SELECTION
          RECEIVING
            ELEMENT = lo_el_project.
    get all declared attributes
        if lo_el_project is not initial.
          lo_el_project->get_static_attributes(
            IMPORTING
              static_attributes = ls_project ).
    change your code to
    lo_nd_year_list = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_year_list ).
    ***Gets the selected project id from drop down
      if lo_nd_year_list is not initial.
        CALL METHOD lo_nd_year_list->GET_LEAD_SELECTION
          RECEIVING
            ELEMENT =  lo_el_year_list .
