Can anyone explain the difference between these 2 versions?

I don't understand why Version 2 works and Version 1 does
not. Both are on the main timeline, however Version 2 nests one
clip inside the other. They both display correctly, however
mouse-dragging only works on the Version 2. The events don't get
fired for Version 1. Can anyone explain what's up?
Version 1:
this.createEmptyMovieClip("thisClip",getNextHighestDepth());
thisClip.loadMovie("man.swf");
thisClip.onPress = image_press;
thisClip.onRelease = image_release;
Version 2:
this.createEmptyMovieClip("thisClip",getNextHighestDepth());
thisClip.createEmptyMovieClip("man",
thisClip.getNextHighestDepth());
thisClip
.man.loadMovie("man.swf");
thisClip.onPress = image_press;
thisClip.onRelease = image_release;
The handlers are defined as simple calls to
startDrag/stopDrag:
function image_press() {
this.startDrag(false);
trace("man press");
function image_release() {
this.stopDrag();
trace("man release");

handlers applied to a movieclip (like your thisClip.onPress
handler) is removed when that movieclip is the target of a
loadMovie() statement. when loading is complete you can assign an
onPress handler that functions as you expect. or you can use
version 2 to target the child of a movieclip and assign handlers to
the parent.

  • Hi, can anyone explain the difference between the models A1457 and ME432B/A of the iPone 5s. Thanks

    Hi, can anyone explain the difference between the models A1457 and ME432B/A of the iPone 5s.

    Hi Gary,
    Model # A1457 designates that it's the European market model, which I believe works on EE, Vodafone and O2 in the UK.
    ME432B/A is the part # that, in your case, I believe, desginates a 16GB Space Grey Unlocked version...
    Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that

  • Can someone explain the difference between these to kerberos AFP listings

    I have been doing quite a bit of digging to solve a widespread AFP idle disconnect issue, and while comparing settings among multiple servers, I noticed a kerberos recond variation that I don't understand.
    Most of the servers under the APF settings list a record like this:
    afp:kerberosPrincipal = "afpserver/[email protected]"
    One in particular, lists a record like this that is comepletely different from the other servers:
    afp:kerberosPrincipal = "afpserver/LKDC:SHA1.F4848D1138AE9704A1A67C3F2F25AE98465D6465@LKDC:SHA1.F4848D1138AE9704A1A67C3F2F25AE98465D6465"
    Can anyone explain to me why the difference and what it means?

    Basically it's the Local Key Distribution Centre ostensibly used for peer to peer file sharing and Access Control Lists etc as compared to SSO in a Networked Directory environment such as OD, AD, eDirectory, OpenLDAP etc. Wikipedia explains it fairly well if you're interested?
    https://dreness.com/wikimedia/index.php?title=LKDC
    In practical terms I have seen it cause confusion sometimes when authenticating file shares. It usually happens when File Sharing has been started prior to configuring DNS Services properly and starting PM and/or OD. The AFP server preference file appears to be 'locked' with the LKDC info instead of the server one and networked users fail to authenticate when accessing a share. It's a rare-ish occurence (I've seen it happen a few of times) but can take a while to troubleshoot because defining shares and applying ACLs in the GUI shows no problems.
    However this may not be the case with whatever problems you may be having? It's easy to 'fix' though, simply unshare whatever you've shared, stop the service, remove the preference file, reboot the server, restart the service. Check the information in the preference file is what it should be.

  • Can someone explain the difference between width, maxWidth, explicitWidth, explicitMaxWidth?

    Can someone explain the difference between width, maxWidth,  explicitWidth, explicitMaxWidth of the UI component? I read the API and I  have no idea what do they mean.

    Width is the current width.  ExplicitWidth is set if you give an component
    an explicit width vs a temporary width via setActualSize.
    MaxWidth and minWidth factor in either the measuredMax/MinWidth or one set
    explicitly.

  • Can someone explain the difference between TIER_WEB and TIER_WEBDEV

    Hi All,
    We have two sets of values in Context file as below.
    <TIER_ADWEB oa_var="s_isAdWeb">NO</TIER_ADWEB>
    <TIER_ADFORMS oa_var="s_isAdForms">NO</TIER_ADFORMS>
    <TIER_ADFORMSDEV oa_var="s_isAdFormsDev">NO</TIER_ADFORMSDEV>
    <TIER_ADWEBDEV oa_var="s_isAdWebDev">NO</TIER_ADWEBDEV>
    Could you explain the difference between
    TIER_WEB and TIER_WEBDEV
    and
    TIER_ADFORMS and TIER_ADFORMSDEV

    These values in a shared APPL_TOP system. Pl see ML Doc 745580.1 (Apply Patches in a Shared Application Tier File System Environment) for an explanation.Not necessarily in Shared APPL_TOP, even in traditional multi-node installation you will find these values in the application context file.
    I never came across any document which describes the difference between TIER_WEBDEV and TIER_WEB, I just can say that these variables always have the same value.

  • Whats the difference between these versions of photoshop?

    First of all to make things clear I want to mention this first that I lives in Pakistan and Adobe doesn't support my region so in order to buy the Adobe Photoshop CC I have to contact the authorized resellers, after contacting them and asking for a invoice proposal for Adobe Photoshop CC, they send me several invoice proposals (per user team liscense). But I just got in a trouble as these proposals are offering Photoshop CC different versions so its like kinda making me double mind, i am just confused which to buy as prices are differ too and kinda noticeable. As for making my intentions clear I also wanna mention that I am looking for Single App Liscense i mean i just wanna buy Photoshop CC thats it. But for sure its not gonna be that photography version nor student one. Also i wanna know that whats the difference between these two versions and also tell me the pros and cons.
    So please help me choose which one is better for me as I am really confused with it.

    I've attached screenshots too

    The features in both of the Photoshop CC are identical, there is a difference in price because, the higher priced is the original Photoshop price, the less priced is the promotional priced Photoshop CC eligible only if you have CS3 or later version of Adobe creative suite product.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • Can anyone tell the difference between USB 3.0 and 2.0?

    I have both a 8GB flashdrive 3.0 and 2.0. I got the 3.0 at office depot for $8.00 and 2.0 for the same price at best buy. I honestly can't tell the difference between the two. They both seem to be the same in speed. Is there really a difference?

    This is an interesting subject, I just recalled a MacWorld podcast I was listening to when the 3.0s were first hitting the market. A guest on the podcast was saying to think of it like a 'bottle neck' not so much as speed. With the 3.0 you can push more information through at any one time. So in the case of the hd movie senario, if you had multiple movies transfering at one time the 3.0 would be a lot faster than a 2.0.

  • Can u explain the difference between album book calendar icloud in iphoto

    In iphoto u have some different options to group photos, can someone tell me the difference between albums books calendar icloud and slideshows, i don't know which of them to use to group my photos.
    Thanks

    Albums are arbitrary collections of photos. You decide what photos go in what albums. In your list these are the only items for grouping photos.
    Books are exctly that. Books you design based on templates and buy in printed from from Apple. Ditto with Calendars
    iCloud is an online syncing service offered by Apple. In terms of iPhoto you're thinking of Photostreams. See

  • Can anyone explain the difference ...

    We are encouraged to buy movies through iTunes to put on our iPods. But doing so results in: one copy on our computer under iTunes, one copy on the iPod/touch, and if we're fastidious, one copy on whatever device we use to perform routine backups. So we pay once and have THREE copies. Syncing makes sure at least two are always present. No one complains - Apple, the movie studios, the government.
    But if we buy a DVD, then rip it onto our computer and sync a copy to the iPod everyone is up in arms. But what's the difference? In both cases one purchase has been made (either through iTunes or the DVD), and two copies are generated (if you have the new Apple time capsule, maybe 6 copies are made!)
    One seems fine, the other forbidden - why? I know the legal position on DVDs, but the net result is the same, no?

    Hey!
    I would assume that any Backup/Mac/iPT version bought from iTMS would be DRM'd.That to me is the only way they would allow you to make Backups.
    Interesting the comment from Fox Studios CEO in the Keynote.....you buy the official DVD and hey,you get a Digital version for your mac/PC FREE!
    Only, not really.... cos you've just shelled out £14 for the DVD!Hahahaha you gotta hand it to 'em!

  • Hello, can someone explain the difference between........

    The mailboxes that are "on my mac" and ".mac"
    I would like to know the difference. Will both sync to iPhone/other mac computer using mobileme (.mac)? Or do only the ".mac" mailboxes sync to all devices?
    Thanks
    Steve

    On My Mac literally means the email that is on your Mac's hard drive, while .Mac (MobileMe) is a mail service from Apple, completely separate from your Mac.
    The MobileMe service offers syncing ability of email to other enabled devices, such as an iPhone, or other Macs, when connected to the MobileMe server. Any other email is not synced to any other device, unless that service provider, such as Google Mail, offers IMAP mail service and you choose to read the same mail over and over again from the server.

  • Can someone explain the difference between a downloaded podcast episode and a "saved" episode?

    How is one different from the other? I assumed my downloaded episodes are "saved" on my computer but there is a separate "saved" tab in iTunes and they don't both match. Please help this is driving me crazy. I am not using the podcast app for iOS or syncing to any other device.

    Both saved and downloaded episodes are saved in files.  There are no apparent differences in file names, file permissions, or other file attributes between "saved" versus just "downloaded" episodes.
    The only significant effect I see of setting an episode to "saved" is a change a in the behavior of the iTunes delete operation.  Specifically, when a saved episode is deleted, its status changes from "saved" to "downloaded", but the file is not deleted.  When a downloaded episode is deleted, the file is deleted at the OS level (to the Trash).  Another minor effect is that saved episodes are removed from the "feed" display list, whereas downloaded episodes remain in the "feed" display list.
    It is possible that a saved episode is treated differently with respect to the "Delete Played Episodes" setting.  I've not looked into this, since this setting takes effect after 24 hours, and I don't feel like waiting around to find out.
    It is annoying in the extreme that Apple's software documentation has become woefully lacking compared to years past.  It's particularly annoying in the case of iTunes, given its myriad quirks and obtuse behavior.
    With all the money Apple spends on corporate image, it's rather surprising that they don't  better document and explain their products.   For example, devoting a few staff positions to answering questions on their own discussion sites could relieve a great deal of customer frustration.  Perhaps they're concerned that doing so might cut into their Apple Care profit margins.  Whatever their reasons, Apple's behavior in this regard is absolutely infuriating to me, and I suspect to many others who'd prefer not to search message boards, often unsuccessfully, for answers to questions that Apple could themselves very easily provide.

  • Can someone explain the difference between Boot Camp and Fusion 3?

    I just purchased a 13" MBP. I here users are installing Win7 on their MBP. I've read Apple has not offically said they are supporting Win7. Some people tell me that you can run Win7 in a Window while running MAC OS. Other people tell me you can boot to either Mac OS or Win7. So my question is...is Boot camp the same app as Fusion? Why would you run Win7 in a Window under MAC OS? Do you have to install all your Win Apps within the Win7 window?
    Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I've been a PC user for most of my career life. This is the first time I've ever purchased a Mac. First it was the iPhone, not the MAC.
    Thanks,
    --jeff

    is Boot camp the same app as Fusion?
    No.
    Why would you run Win7 in a Window under MAC OS?
    To switch between the different OSes very easily.
    Do you have to install all your Win Apps within the Win7 window?
    They need to be installed inside Windows.

  • Can someone explain the difference between photos app and iphoto for iphone?

    I recently downloaded the iphoto app to my iPhone 4s. I am hoping to clear up some space on my iphone and I deleted some pics from what I thought was the camera roll within iphoto. I noticed later that while attempting to change my wallpaper, I noticed that pics I thought I deleted were still on the phone as evidenced by their availability to be used as wallpaper. I checked that I had selected cameral roll and not photostream, where it would make sense the photos would still be there. When I left settings I noticed that I have iphoto and the phots app on my iphone. Do I need both? And if i want to delete photos, do I need to delete photos from the cameral roll within iphoto AND the photos app???? I really need someone to make sense of all this photo business!

    The "Photos" application is built into the phone and is meant only for viewing and making small edits (crop, auto-enhance, etc.) to photos in your Camera Roll and other photos synced onto your phone via iTunes.
    iPhoto for iOS is a new application which is meant to allow you to organize your photos, share them via sideshows or "journals" and make mode substantial edits (contrast, brightness, sharpness, photo effects, etc.)
    Keep in mind that iPhoto or any other app from the App Store does not have the ability to delete photos from your Camera Roll. What you did is probably hit the x icon which hides the photo from your iPhoto library but it remains in your Camera Roll. To delete photos, they must be deleted from the Photos app. Oce they are deleted from your Camera Roll they will no longer show up in iPhoto.

  • Can anyone explain the main differences between CRM 2007 and CRM 7?.

    Can anyone explain the main differences between CRM 2007 and CRM 7?.
    Does CRM 2007 use the WebUI?.
    Jason

    My fault for not putting my question forward correctly.
    I have worked with CRM 7 a few times now, but my experience has jumped me from CRM 5 straight to CRM 7, having never touched CRM 2007.
    I now have an opening to work on CRM 2007 so I was intrigued to know what it physically looked like. I assume it does not use the WebUI interface?.

  • Can anyone explain the functionality of FM f4ut_parameter_get_values ?

    Can anyone explain the functionality of FM f4ut_parameter_get_values ?
    This is used in search help to retrive values from screen.This doesnt seem to work for me

    hi,
    check this
    F4UT_PARAMETER_VALUE_GET
    Short Text
    Standard search help exit for determining contents of a srch help par.
    FunctionalityBy calling this module in a search help exit, you can find out the current contents of a search help parameter . To do this, you must pass the name of the parameter in PARAMETER.
    You must distinguish between the parameter contents that are used in the selection process of the input help process and the parameter contents that are determined by the selection process and the user selection.
    Parameter contents that are used in the selection process are default values of search help parameters, values that are included in the input help process by attaching the search help to the screen from field contents of the screen or its module pool, and possibly complex restrictions made by the user in the dialog box for restricting value. Such parameter contents can also be included in the input help process by the search help exit itself.
    The contents of the specified parameter used in the selection process are stored as complex restrictions in SELOPT_TAB after the call. If exactly one value is defined by these complex restrictions (for example if the restrictions have exactly one row and if SIGN = 'I' and OPTION = 'EQ' for this row), this unique value can be found in VALUE.
    Parameter contents that are determined by selection process and user selection are the parameter contents that are shown in the dialog box for displaying the hit list or returned on the screen. They are managed by the F4 processor in RECORD_TAB.
    This module enables you to transfer the information about the specified parameters from RECORD_TAB to RESULTS_TAB in edited form.
    Pass the name of the field of RESULTS_TAB that should contain the contents of the parameter to the function module in parameter FIELDNAME. If the row type of RESULTS_TAB is elementary, pass the value '*' in FIELDNAME. The rest of RESULTS_TAB is not changed. The values are copied row by row. By removing rows at the end or by adding intiial rows you can make sure that RESULTS_TAB has exactly as many rows as RECOD_TAB.
    Example
    You can find an example of the second kind of use of the module in the search help exit SAPBC_GLOBAL_F4_SFLIGHT of search help SFLIGHT.
    Both types of use can be found in the search help exit SAPBC_GLOBAL_F4_SFLIGHT_MIN_FR of search help SFLIGHT_MIN_FREE .
    Notes
    1. Parameters OFF_RESULT and LEN_RESULT should not be used any more since there are basic problems when using UNICODE. The contents of these parameter are still analyzed when parameter FILEDNAME is initial for compatibility reasons.
    2. Only the dialog box for restricting values can normally produce complex restrictions for a parameter.
    3. If VALUE has the value SPACE, this means that either there are complex restrictions for the parameter or the unique contents are SPACE. SELOPT_TAB must be evaluated in order to determine which of these is the case.
    4. If the search help does not have any parameter with the given name, the exception PARAMETER_UNKNOWN is triggered.
    5. Only parameter contents for the search help displayed in the hit list or the EXPORT parameters of the search help are first managed in RECORD_TAB. If the specified parameter does not satisfy one of these conditions and if parameter RESULTS_TAB is specified in the call, the exception PARAMETER_UNKNOWN can also be triggered. This is not true, however, if results were already entered for the parameter with function module F4UT_PARAMETER_RESULTS_PUT or if space was reserved for the parameter in RECORD_TAB with function module F4UT_PARAMETER_ALLOCATE. The parameter therefore should only be defined if information about the parameter contents are really required.
    6. The header lines of the specified parameter are also transferred from RECORD_TAB to RESULTS_TAB.
    7. The other parameters of this module must be defined as the parameters of the search help exit having the same name, but they are not changed by this module.
    8. RESULTS_TAB should be a standard table.
    9. The contents of the specified parameter in RECORD_TAB are copied to the specified field of table RESULTS_TAB with a MOVE of the correct type. If this is not possible, the target field is assigned the initial value.
    10. If RESULTS_TAB has no field with the name specified by FIELDNAME, only the number of rows of RESULTS_TAB is adjusted to those of RECORD_TAB as described.
