Can anyone suggest a way to delete a partner in a contract

Question

We are using BAPI_CUSTOMERCONTRACT_CHANGE to delete a partner say 'WE'. But it is deleting partner 'AW' also though we are passing only WE for deletion. This is being done internally by BAPI it seems.
Is there any other FM or BAPI which we can use to delete a partner from contract (va42).

Functionality
Using this method, you can change or delete contracts.
You can change header data, item data, schedule line data, contract data and configuration data.
In general the following applies:
1. Only enter fields that you want to change.
2. Mark the fields you want to change with an X.
3. Fill in the UPDATEFLAG field with a U.
4. Always enter the key fields when making changes, including in the checkbox list.
5. An exception is configuration. If you change this, you must fill it in completely.
6. Enter quantities and dates under schedule line data.
7. Possible update flags: U = change
                        D = delete
                        I = insert

1. Delete complete contract
2. Delete contract item
3. Changes to contract
4. Change configuration
