Can Director 11 Launch APP on a Mac?

Question

Hello,
I'm trying to launch an self extracting executable type
program using Director 11.
Everything works just fine on the PC side, but on the Mac
side when you click the button it does nothing. I'm really new to
programming for the Mac side so any help would be great!
Here is the code I'm trying to use;
on mouseUp me
cursor 0
puppetsound 3, 0
If the platform contains "windows" then
open the moviePath & "APP_Installer.exe"
else
open the moviePath & "APP.pkg"
end if
end
I have two different APP's, each specific for their platform,
and both work just by clicking on them outside of director so i
know they are working.
Again any help would be great. :o)>

I didn't realise you could do that. Trying it on my system though caused some problems.
I tried
open _movie.path with "Finder.app"
and not only did it fail to open the folder but it made Finder disappear when I tried to command-tab out of Director.
open _movie.path with baFindApp( "MACS" )
is more reliable.
I tried
open _movie.path & "Test.pkg" with "Installer.app"
and Installer crashed as it tried to launch.
open _movie.path & "Test.pkg" with baFindApp( "xins" )
worked without a problem.
