Can dw cs3 connect directly to sql server database without a testing server?

I'm new to dreamweaver but have used script tools that link
directly to my sql server database.
Not in dw, so far. As of this early stage, I don't have or
want to use a web server, and it's blocking me
without one. I just want to prototype without a testing
server, directly to my database. And while I'll try php
later, I didn't want to have to get into it or cold fusion,
etc. right away.
Can dw connect directly to sql server database without a
testing server?
I'm running XP sp 3 at this point, and don't see IIS. There's
probably some security issues
I'll have to tangle with. The goal is for my website to end
up on the company intRAnet, not the www.
fwiw, I can Build in Data Link Properties and get a
successful test to my sql server database via
Microsoft Data Link, but once I go back and try the test in
OLE DB Connection it balks on the testing server,
as I don't have one locally or otherwise. Isn't there a way
to link to db without a testing server?

Can OBIEE 10G connect to a SQL Server database (2005)?

We have Oracle BI running already. We have also a SQL Server database running. Now there is requirement that asks to connect to the SQL Server and directly send some SQL quires to the SQL Server and get result back and display it in answers. I know the normal process should be set ETL to load the data from the SQL Server to OBIEE and from there the report can be built. So I am not sure is this doable?

These is the steps I have done:
1. open Oracle BI administration tool
2. create a new repository
3. select import from database, and specify the ODBC (connection to the SQL Server). It asked me to choose tables to import. I then selected one table. Now I can see the connection pool and the table being created in physical. I saved it.
4. I then goes to BI interactive dashboard -> answers-> Direct Database Request. In the connection pool I entered the name of the connection pool in step 3. And entered some simple query and I got:
error : Odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW).

Can Airport Extreme connect directly to internet?

i would like to purchase an Airport Extreme but wondering if this is a router - can i plug my internet directly from phone line into this? or do i still need to purchase a router and plug the airport into that... if so can anybody recommend a good router - i will be on BT ISP in UK. thank you!

In the USA, broadband is dominated by cable using PPPoE and you are right it is common to have an Ethernet modem provided. However the original poster is in the UK and what seems to escape even Apple is that outside the USA things are very different and particularly in the UK with over 80% of broadband users having ADSL. The ADSL is delivered on an ATM network and the providers either offer a very basic USB modem that can not be connected to an Airport or a combined modem/wireless router that makes things messy when you want to use an Airport.
The trouble with using a combined ADSL router is that by default you end up with two routers connected to each other, because both the Airport and the ADSL router are NAT routers. Having two routers connected to each other is far from ideal as things like iChat AV and BAc to my Mac will not work.
You can configure the Airport as a bridge that eliminates the router functions so that the ADSL router is performing the router function and not the Airport. The trouble is the ADSL router does not automatically understand the iChat AV protocol which then involves advanced set-up procedures in the router for port forwarding to get AV working on just a single computer. All this is a bit much for most people to want to be fiddling with.
So the answer is to have an Ethernet ADSL Modem that is not a router. That way the Airport acts as the router and the modem just gives a link to the internet. The Airport being designed by Apple obviously fully understands how to deal with iChat AV so you can have video chats on all your computers without having to fiddle with any complex settings.
The trouble is there are very few Ethernet ADSL Modems and they are not generally sold in shops due to the lack of understanding of the issue by most retailers.

SAP ECC6.0 cannot connect to SQL Server Database after recreating DB server

We had a disaster with our ECC 6.0 Development system a few days ago. The system is called “DEV”. The SQL Server database server got wiped out and we didn’t have a backup. Luckily, we did have a backup of the database. Our system engineers rebuilt the server and our DBA reinstalled SQL Server and restored the database. The database came up fine, but when we try to start SAP, it fails. “R3trans –d” also fails. The database is SQL Server 2008R2 10.50.2769. The OS is Windows Server 2008R2.
We verified that the “devadm” and “SAPServiceDEV” accounts have permissions on the on the server. We set the following Environment Variables for the devadm account on the database server:
DBMS_TYPE = mss
MSSQL_DBNAME = DEV
MSSQL_SCHEMA = dev
MSSQL_SERVER = <database server name>
SAPLOCALHOST = <database server name>
SAPSYSTEMNAME = DEV
We also set the following Registry Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/SAP/DEV
Type:     REG_SZ
Value:   AdmUser
String:   <database server name>\devadm
We didn’t install any kind of SAP software on the database server.
Is there any kind of SAP components we need to install on the database server? Do we need to run the SAP installer on the database server to get everything setup correctly? I looked at another one of our SQL Server database servers and it has SAP Management Console installed and there is a C:\Program Files\SAP\hostcntl folder. I don't know what that is or it has anything to do with SAP being able to connect to the database.

Config of multiple SQL-Server databases without multiple gateways-possible?

Hi Guys
Can someone tell me if there's any way of connecting to different SQL Server databases (using Transparent Gateway) WITHOUT having to create multiple gateways?
I have read in various sources that I MUST create one gateway per target database. I was contemplating a workaround such as creating a sysadmin SS user (and using these credentials in the db link) and trying to access any one of the databases within the SS instance. As I'm sure you know, you can query a SS database via a sysadmin user like:
select * from my_db.dbo.my_table
I realise it was a long shot to execute this from Oracle select * from my_db.dbo.my_table@my_dblink and yes....it didn't work.
We have SS databases that are constantly dropped, recreated, renamed etc so we don't want to configure transparent gateway for a database only for it to be dropped 5 minutes later.

Connection between two SQL Azure Databases

We have a requirement to move data (partial data in a table based on policy conditions) between two SQL Azure Databases. Want to know the best possible way to do this.
We are not looking at Data Sync Framework - as this is only a Preview version and we have to use this in an ongoing basis in Production and the volume of data is quite high.
The option that we have currently is to use an on premise stored procedure - that will have two link servers to the source and target SQL Azure Databases and do the data movement in one transaction.
Are there any other better options to do this ? Any pointers will be helpful.

According to your description, if you just want to moving part of the data from a huge table between two different SQL Server database, you can use
SQL Server replication to sync the part of data via articles. However, in SQL Azure database, it does not support SQL Server replication, if you want to migrate database, as other post, you
can use Data-Tier Application Import and Export or other ways.
In addition, for just moving the part of data, you can also create two Linked Servers between local SQL Server database and two different SQL azure database. For example, you can get the changed data from the first Linked
Server and saved the data to Local database, then insert these data to the other azure database via the second Linked Server.

Connecting Discoverer to SQL Anywhere database via ODBC

I am trying to connect Discoverer to a SQL Anywhere Database using ODBC. I am using the following parameters:
Username: ODBC:DSN name
Password: I have tried every combination of username/password
Connect: Blank
The DBclient will launch, and I get an invalid username or password. Does anyone know the correct syntax and where I should be putting the username and password?

The ODBC driver manual should provide the configuration steps required.
The ODBC driver will use the username/password that was used when the database link was created to connect to SQL Anywhere.

How to see html code in a php file using CS5.5 without using testing server?

In CS5.5 when I open a page with php extention, DW does not show any html code in design view without me having to set up a testing server. In DW 8 it would open the same files and show me the html in design view. I have no need to test php code, I just need to alter the html. Is there a setting I can change to enable this in CS5.5? Thanks.

new page from a template and save it as html, design view still works, but

You restoring with offline backup or online backup.if your restoring with online backup.Check up to date logs are avaliable in test server.
If we want to restore the backup

after displaying successfully status type command

->db2 rollforward db SID complete
To check the status of rollforward

Cannot install exchange server 2010 without small business server 2011

we purchased Windows Small Business server 2011 for one of our servers and installed the software and setup exchange server for the office. We had some 3rd party software that would not work with small business server so we had to install windows
2008 r2 server. we still need exchange server 2010. Is there anyway to install without small business server? When I entered the key in exchange server for the small business server it is saying that it is an invalid key. We have a

SBS is indeed all or nothing. Breaking apart the individual components is not allowed. That includes exchange. If you want exchange without SBS, you'll need to buy exchange separately and exchange CALs. If you only have SBS CALs and aren't going to run
SBS, you'll need Windows CALs as well.

Changing Weblogic Server properties without restarting Weblogic Server

I have an application that requires a few things to be set at the start of the
Weblogic server (email addresses,criteria settings, etc.). These are contained
in a properties file that is referenced in the Weblogic properties file. The
problem is when I want to make a change in the application property file (change
an email address, increment a criteria) I have to "reboot" the Weblogic server.
These defeats the whole purpose of property files. Is there anyway to get Weblogic
to "recache" the properties files without a Weblogic server "reboot"?

I very much doubt that you would be able to refresh the WebLogic properties
file at run-time (is this WebLogic 5.1 or 6.0 you are talking a about?).
If you want to be able to update properties run-time (as opposed to
boot-time) then don't use WebLogic's property file - use either your own
properties file or store the properties elsewhere such as in the database or
in JNDI. You will of course have to implement your own refresh algorithm.
If you are using EJBs then a simple READ-ONLY entity bean with a refresh
period of a few seconds may suffice.

Can No Longer Connect to Azure SQL Databases

As of this morning, I am no longer to connect to any of my Azure SQL databases by any (apparent) means. I checked the configuration in the azure portal and my IP address is listed as an allowed IP, however:
I am unable to connect via SQL Server Management Studio
My request times out when attempting to visit https://{server_name}.database.windows.net
What might have caused this?

To resolve the issue you can try the following steps (in that order):
                Check the application’s connection string to make sure that it is correctly configured. For example, make sure that the connection string specifies the correct port
(1433) and the fully qualified server name.
Note You can follow these steps to obtain the connection string from the Azure Management Portal:
                      Log on to the
Azure Management Portal.
                      In the left navigation pane, click
SQL Databases.
                      Select your Azure SQL Database server.
                      Click
Dashboard.
                      On the right side, go to the
quick glance section, and then click Show connection strings.
                Make sure that TCP IP is enabled as a client protocol on the application server. For more information on how to do this, see
Configure client protocols. On application servers where you do not have SQL Server tools installed, you can check this by running cliconfg.exe (SQL Server Client Network Utility).

I created the DSN's and when I click test they says it OK
However if I use an application to connect to these DSN's it says generic:

I reused the script for local connections to work on a remote via the ODBC but it says the same as other applications when they try to hook up to the DSN

Does anyone see what I miss here?
