Can File store in the database?

Recently,I met a small project.
It is a problem about applying virtual space,A registered user can apply some quantitative space.And then upload the files.can the files uploaded be stored with database?

I would say it's a question of database type. For example Oracle supports CLOB and BLOB type of column, where whole file can be stored. Microsoft has simething like binary or image (I am not really familiar with MS) type for such a purpose. generaly.

  • What is the best method for saving the client sequence file revision in the database \ report?

    I'm trying to figure out the best way to store the sequence file Revision in the database. That is, if I have the Revision (SequenceFile.AsPropertyObjectFile.Version), where (e.g. what table / field) should I put it if I'm using the SQL Server schema that ships with TestStand?  How do I get it there?

    Ok LabBEAN,
    Here is my tutorial.  It is actually easier than I thought:
    Step 1: Configure>>Database Options and uncheck the Disable Database Logging.
    Step 2: Click the Data Link tab
    Step 3: Make sure the Connection String Expression is pointing to the right location.  Should be a public directory with a .mdb file if you are using TestStand defaults.  Click the View Data button to verify.  It should open the Database Viewer so you can look at the tables.  Leave the Database Viewer open.
    Step 4: Click the Schemas tab
    Step 5: With the Generic Recordset (NI) selected click the Duplicate button.
    Step 6: You should now see a copy of that schema.  In the Name box name it MyRecordset and make sure it is checked
    Step 7: Click the Statements tab and highlight STEP_SEQCALL.  NOTE: you must always do this before clicking on the Columns/Parameters tab
    Step 8: Click the Columns/Parameters tab
    Step 9: Highlight the SEQUENCE_FILE_PATH item and click the Copy Button
    Step 10:  Highlight the new entry and change the Name to SEQUENCE_FILE_VERSION
    Step 11: MOST CRITICAL STEP: Change the Expression to RunState.Engine.GetSequenceFileEx(Logging.StepResult.TS.SequenceCall.SequenceFile, 107, ConflictHandler_Error).AsPropertyObjectFile.Version  It is better to do it this way because you never now where a sequence file call will be made and not all sequence calls are made to the model client sequence.
    Step 12: Hopefully you left the Database Viewer open from Step 3. Go to it.
    Step 13: Right click the STEP_SEQCALL and select Add Column..  Name the new column: SEQUENCE_FILE_VERSION.  Basically you need a column that matches the one you created back in the Columns/Parameters tab.  Set it up with the same type and size.  NOTE: there is an alternate way to do this using the Execute SQL View in the Database Options but you need to create it.  You can create it from the Schemas tab back in TS by clicking the Build .sql File.. button.
    Step 14: Back in TestStand click OK to save and close the Database Options.
    Now run your sequence and you will see the new data in your database.

  • Error while reading file entries from the database

    Hi there,
    We are running a instance of xmii 12 in a VM (VMware) and after somebody shutdown the host machine without shutting down the VM (great idea isn't it?) we keep getting this message when trying to access xMII:
    "Application cannot be started.
      Details:   com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.ExceptionInfo: Error while reading file entries from the database."
    Any clue? Any suggestion on how we can recover from that?
    Thanks a whole lot,

    Well thanks for the hint. Actually, the DB was up but corrupted. I managed to solve the bug by re-deploying xMII (using the SDM tool) which kept all my data but redeployed both the config db of (x)mii and the class files.

  • Download of files stored in the database

    I am using FireFox and my users IE. Download of files stored in the database worked for me but not for my users. I recieve a choice of downloading the file or opening it with a full file name and file type. IE users have some strange behaviour - no name of the file and they can only save it to their local drive - some kind of weird microsoft security option. I was searching for it but couldn't find. Anyone here who would know where to search for it?

  • Best ways to view/display PDF/Excel files stored in the Database

    What are best ways to display/view PDF/Excel files stored in the Database? thanks L

    Thanks tom, sorry let me explain. Currently we have oracle forms screen, using webutil to store/view files into DB. client won't like the interface, they want us to make it more friendly, drag and drop if possible, load multiple files, as possible.. So I am exploring different ways to improve may be java (or jdev/any any other), different screen designs, different features for fileupload/download/view options.

  • Oracle reports to display PDF/Excel files stored in the Database

    can we use Oracle reports to view/display PDF/Excel files stored in the Database? Thanks Lalitha

    A document stored in the database can be easily retrieved in or via the browser using mod_plsql. Simplified:
    select content, mime_type
    into v_blob, v_mime_type
    from ...
    owa_util.mime_header(nvl(v_mimetype,'application/octet'),false);
    htp.p('Content-length: ' || dbms_lob.getlength(v_blob));
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    wpg_docload.download_file(v_blob);So, the link in your report should point to this database procedure.

  • Can not login into the database 9i

    I use WarehouseBuilder 9i's repository assistant to create new repository on a host.While the database is oracle 9i release 2 , the sysdba's name/password can't login into the database.But if the database is oracle 8.1.7 ,the sysdba's name/password can login.Why?
    If the oracle 9i doesn't support WarehouseBuilder 9i ?

    This is well known bug in OWH 9i.
    The thing is:
    1. Repository Assistant need to login under SYS and only SYS
    2. SYS are allowed to login to Oracle 9i only AS SYSDBA
    3. ... but Repository Assistant CANNOT correctly login by "SYS AS SYSDBA"
    Solution:
    1. Set Oracle 9i init parameter O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY=TRUE and restart database instance. This allow you to login as SYS (without SYSDBA) to Oracle 9i.

  • Can't connect to the database after 1-2 day, Named Pipes Provider, error: 40,Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 121

    HI
    I have a problem. I can't connect to the database. It said :
    An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.  When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider,

    When I restart the server, I can connect normally. But after 1-2 days, it can't be connected.
    How can I fix this?

  • STORE A COMPLETE FILE SYSTEM IN THE DATABASE 11GR2

    Hi everyone
    I have the following issue:
    I tried to store in an oracle database TABLE the completre file structure
    of a file system that includes the follwing:
    -Name of the file
    -Date of last modification
    -Location
    -The entire content of the phisical file BLOB datatype
    I have the following piece of code to archieve this, but i still have a
    problem...
    When i tried to add the records to the database by implememting all
    the connecttions stuffs, oracle and java classes required the program
    inserts a FEW RECORDS and after that:
    ¡¡¡hangs up!!!.
    The main problem is that i cant release the connection and get another new when i using
    JDBC POOL so the server full their available connections.
    Please tell me what is the best approach or programming practice on order to
    meet this goal.
    Thanks from Colombia - Latin America..
    HERE IS THE CODE:
    import java.io.* ;
    * A simple class to demonstrate a recursive directory traversal
    * in Java.
    * Error handling was left out to make the code easier to understand.
    * In production code, you should check if the arguments from the
    * command line are really file files or directories.
    public class RecursiveTraversal
    * Works on a single file system entry and
    * calls itself recursively if it turns out
    * to be a directory.
    * @param file A file or a directory to process
    public void traverse( File file )
    // Print the name of the entry
    //System.out.println( file ) ;
    // Check if it is a directory
    if( file.isDirectory() )
    // Get a list of all the entries in the directory
    String entries[] = file.list() ;
    // Ensure that the list is not null
    if( entries != null )
    // Loop over all the entries
    for( String entry : entries )
    // Recursive call to traverse
    traverse( new File(file,entry) ) ;
    else
    if(file.isFile())
    System.out.println( file.getParent() ) ;
    System.out.println( file.getName() ) ;
    else
    System.out.println("*** WRONG VALUE ***");
    * The program starts here.
    * @param args The arguments from the command line
    public static void main( String args[] )
    // Create an object of this class
    RecursiveTraversal rt = new RecursiveTraversal() ;
    if( args.length == 0 )
    // If there are no arguments, traverse the current directory
    rt.traverse( new File(".") ) ;
    else
    // Else process every argument sequentially
    for( String arg : args )
    rt.traverse( new File(arg) ) ;
    }

    Thanks for the reply, the implementation that you refer is useful for another type of application i need to stored the file system in a TABLE of a database
    in order to make a part of an information system integration and can use SQL statements to acomplish this.
    I follow the recomendation and post it in the SQL/JDBC forum because when i try to release de active connection i can't acomplish this.
    And i need to know how to use JDBC connection poolling to open a connection just once, release and use it again.

  • Can I load a LDIF file and initalise the database using iPlanet SDK?

    I know how to create a new context in the DS, initialise its database with a LDIF file from the console or using the LDAPModify.
    But would it be possible if I can create the context & initialise the database using the iPlanet SDK for Java?
    I'm developing a module that would allow an user to create a new organisation, thereby the need to create the database using the SDK. How can I go about to achieve this?
    Many thanks!

    I don't understand. If you know how to do everything using ldapmodify, it should be very straightforward to use java. What don't you understand?

  • Would you put XML and HTML files stored in the database as files?

    Hi,
    Basically that is my question. My criteria is that I will be given some XML files, I need to save the XML file somewhere for future reference. However I also have to store when it was registered and so on.
    Would you install this in the database? Or you would just store the path where it is deployed?
    Regards,
    Sim085

    Hi,
    Basically that is my question. My criteria is that I
    will be given some XML files, I need to save the XML
    file somewhere for future reference. However I also
    have to store when it was registered and so on. So the XML won't be changing unless the registration date is updated?
    A file modification time could give you the same effect.
    Would you install this in the database? Or you would
    just store the path where it is deployed?I'd favor the latter for the sake of an argument.
    If you put it in the database, you wouldn't be able to query for the XML except by ID or registration date. Not much point in having it there.
