Can i change my Exchange 2003 organization to NATIVE MODE if my Front-End Exchange server is Windows 2000 Server

I am planing to upgrade from exchange server 2003 to exchange server 2010. I understand 2010 can co-exisist with 2003, but my 2003 organization must be in NATIVE MODE, not a problem because i don't have anymore MS Server 2000 domain controllers, they
were decommisioned a few moths after we moved to AD. However my Front-End exchange server that sits on my DMZ is running Exchange server 2003 on Windows 2000 Server.
Can i change my Exchange 2003 organization to NATIVE MODE if my Front-End Exchange server is on the Windows 2000 Server OS? If not, will i have to setup a new Front-End Exchange server on at least Windows Server 2003 to replace the 2000 server setup?
It's been a very long time since these servers were configured so i may need help setting up a new Front-End server if it will be required.
thanks
B
Bobby

My apologies for the very, very late reply, is have made the change to native mode for my
Exchange environment, email is working fine, no problems. Thanks Cheng.<o:p></o:p>
I ran the Exchange 2010 Pre-Deployment Analyzer tool yesterday, and it showed that the
Active Directoy Forest is not Windows Server 2003 native. The domain forest
functional level showed the level to be "Windows Server 2003", is
just wanted to verify this.<o:p></o:p>
Our corporate AD has one Root domain, (I’ll call it, Corp.com) and one child
domain, (I’ll call it, na.corp.com). na.corp.com is functioning at Server 2003,
the Forest of Corp.com, as the analyzer found, shows a functional level of
Windows 2000. All Windows 2000 PDC have been off the network for almost 9
years, and were properly demoted and removed. I guess the one place is didn't
look was at the Forest level.<o:p></o:p>
I opened the AD Sites and Service mmc plugin on the corp.com server and did find the old
Windows 2000 PDC listed with the Servers. I drilled down into the containers
for the old server, deleted everything, and was able to delete the W2K PDC. I
still cannot raise the Forest level however.<o:p></o:p>
I also noticed that domain replication has errors, (8614, 1908, 1256, and 8606), so i
have a bit of a mess, and i am not sure how to fix it. I will post this on the
Exchange 2010 upgrade, and AD forums for assistance, but i wonder if i need
paid assistance.<o:p></o:p>
Thanks again Cheng

How can we change the assigned Family Organizer?

    Hi J. Stephen G.,
Great question! It is not possible to change the family organizer, however you can disband the group and restart it under a new organizer. For information on doing so, check out these resources:

  • Outlook 2010 appointment with exchange 2003 - organizer question

    Hi Sir / Madam,
I have a exchange 2003 server and containing confernece room mailbox. The conference room mailbox is
same as a normal user mailbox since exchange 2003 don't has resource booking feature. And I have following
issue need to be fixed and don't know if this possible for my environment.
Each user can create the appointment in the conference room's calendar but when they select conference room
as resource (location), when all other users open that appointment, then will see the organizer name is conference
room, only the creator can see the appointment was created by himself/herself. I found that if the creator leave
the resource as blank, all users can see the correct organize name.
Anyone know how to fix this issue? Thx
    Jeffrey

    Hi Jeffrey,
According to your posting, I noticed that each user can create the appointment or meeting in the conference room’s calendar. If so, please check if the Default Calendar permission of this room Calendar is set to Author or higher permission.
Generally, if the user creates the calendar items directly from a room’s calendar instead of creating meeting request and sending it to this room, the Organizer name would not be shown as the creator.
Therefore, it is not recommended to directly create meeting request in a room’s calendar. Please create meeting requests in the organizer’s calendar and add the room as a resource, then send the meeting request to the room and attendees. Now check whether
    the organizer is shown correctly.

  • Removing exchange 2003 organization from 2003 Domain

    Hello,
My company has fully migrated to Office365 (NOT Hybrid environment) from a local environment consisting of a single domain with a single exchange 2003 server.
Now I will be upgrading the domain to 2012, but I plan on removing the 2003 exchange organization first, before I upgrade domain to 2012.
Would this be the best approach?  Will this remove any needed the exchange attributes?
    Thank you

    Hi Robert,
After the migration is complete and you can retire your Exchange 2003, there are no any exchange attributes will be affected.
You can refer to the above link to remove the Exchange 2003 server from your organization.

  • Can i change assignment of sales organization/company code?

    Hi,
    I have
sales organizations SO1, SO2 assigned to company code CC1
sales organizations SO3, SO4 assigned to company code CC2
can i change this assignment?, for example:
sales organizations SO1, SO2 reassigned to company code CC2
    i.e.:
    before:
sales organizations SO1, SO2 assigned to company code CC1
sales organizations SO3, SO4 assigned to company code CC2
    After:
    sales organizations SO1, SO2, SO3, SO4 assigned to company code CC2
Of course, there is a lot of sales documents, delivery documents and billing documents in differents status.
Can i change this assignment?, I should change this assignment?,
what others activities i should to see?. Its a requeriment of our company, because will happen a fusion of companys.
    Thanks for replies in advance
    Javier

    Hi,
This is a kind of merger and  not an easy task as seen.. There are lots and lots of complications you have to handle. Recently we did this for one of our client and it was full 1 month project for 25 consultants.
Some of the complications are :
    1. All the documents (specially FI and MM) has to be taken care of.
    2. All the plant related data should have to be in synch
3, Warehouse and materials has to be see
    4. All sales related records, master data has to be extended.
    5. All the assignment you have to see
What i suggest you is, take this as a small project and follow the procedures and steps:
    1. First take back up of all the documents,
    2. Deassign the Sales org from the company code
    3. Reassign them to next company code
    4. Cutover the data again.
    5.validation
    Thanks,
    Raja

  • Can I change BDB's locking level (SQL api mode)?

Can I change BDB locking level ?
if so , how to change it ?
I am testing SQLite vs BDB with --enable-sql_compat (configure option)
I want to change it to Data base level , ( like SQLite )
    Edited by: 861245 on 2011. 6. 23 오후 6:54

    Hello,
If I understand your question you want to change Berkeley DB to
implement locking at a database level like SQLite. Please see
    the "Locking granularity" documentation at:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17076_02/html/programmer_reference/lock_page.html
With the exception of the Queue access method the Berkeley DB
access methods do page-level locking. The Queue access method
    performs record-level locking.
    Thank you,

  • Can we hide the tables and columns from subject areas in the front end

    Hi,
Is there any way to hide the tables and columns from the subject area in front end.I need to create a report with some tables which the user does not want to see.So after creating the reprot can I hide those tables and columns in the front end

    Hi,
Your question is not that clear to me...do you want to hide the entire table/column that dont want to show up in the front end then you could do in Presneation Layer in the RPD by going Permissions in the property of that object.
But if you want to hide the column in the report that can be visible in the subject Area: go to column properties -> Column fomat...thereis Hide option.
Can you please elaborate your question...what exactly you are looking for...

  • IPhone 4 (IOS 4.3.3) Exchange 2003 Contacts created on iPhone will NOT sync w Exchange

if a contact is created in Exchange (via Outlook or OWA) it will sync into the iPhone flawlessly. But if it is created on the iPhone, it WILL NOT go into Exchange. I sync to my PC; I make sure enough time has passed for a iPhone sync-still DOES NOT WORK.
    HELP PLEASE

This sounds very much like the sync is set to the wrong account when you have more than one email account you must set the correct account to be the one to sync to.... in settings mail contacts and calendars check to see which is the default account...  and ensure the exchange one is the default account if that is what you want to sync with ref contacts. Also do this in the calendars section at the bottom default calendar. i have this a lot with my directors they add entries into the iphone calendar and not the exchnage caledar and wonder why they are not syncing !!!! you can also see this in calendars itself their is a tab in the top left corner showning which calendars are being used, also each calendar entry will tell you which calendar it is using

  • HT1766 How can I change the location of my iPad backup to an external hard drive (I'm using Windows XP)?

    Hi Everyone,
My computer's hard drive isn't very big and it's getting quite full backing up my iPhone and iPad. I would like to transfer the back ups to an external hard drive but I haven't figured out how to do this. Also, I would also like to move the Apps folder to the external hard drive.
Although I hope to eventually purchase an Apple computer, for now I still have a PC running Windows XP. Does anyone know how to transfer these files to an external hard drive using Windows XP?
My iPad is the newest with retina display, 128 GB Wi-fi.
    Many thanks!

    Relocate iOS device backups
Assuming you're running Windows Vista or later you can use the following steps:
Open a command prompt by hitting the start button and typing CMD<Enter> in the search box that opens up.
To move the current backup folder from C: to D: type in this command and press <Enter>
    Move "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
Where <User> is your Windows user name.
To make iTunes look for the data in the new location type in this command and press <Enter>
    MkLink /J "C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup" "D:\Backup"
If your external drive has a different letter or you already have a folder called "Backup" then edit "D:\Backup" accordingly in both commands.
If you're still running Windows XP you can use Junction (cmd line tool) or NTFSLink (shell ext). In both cases you move the existing folder to a new location, create an empty folder where the old one used to be, then use the tools to get the operating system to link the two together and silently redirect any file operation on the old location through to the new one.
Note that while this method works for iOS device backups it cannot be used to redirect sections of the media library.

  • How can I change 'attach a file' back from classic mode to regular mode

I was having a problem attaching a file (it was the file's fault, not FF) and switched to the 'classic' mode. I prefer the 'regular', previous mode and cannot figure out how to switch it back. I'm hoping when I reopen it it will revert to 'normal', but I would like to go back to the regular mode. I went to the tools (gear) page and flicked the attach section back and forth to the 'show progress bar setting it was originally on but it didn't work. Help?

    Hi Prem,
You can attach this manually in the document tab of BP. Thats the standard functionality.

  • Can we change the background color of a native menu?

Is it possible? In Windows, the native menu background is
always gray which may not fit the color theme of the
    application.

No, this is not currently supported for native menus. (And it
isn't always gray -- it is the color set by the user for their
    desktop).
If you are using Flex, the MenuBar component can be styled.
To get stylable menu bars for Flash and HTML, you would have to
work something up from scratch or use someone else's component.

  • Steps to move application DB( MSSql) from windows 2003 server to windows 2008 server.

    Hi All,
I am new to DB. We need to move application's MSSQL DB(Currently used DB version is Microsoft SQL server 2008 R2)from windows server 2003 to windows
    2008.
Please advice steps to accomplish this task. How to make sure DB moved without any errors?
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hello,
As mentioned by Visakh, a side-by-side upgrade can be performed by using backup/restore and detach/attach methods.
Additionally, you can transfer logins from
one SQL Server instance to the other by using the following article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/918992
The following article may be useful about transferring not only the databases, but jobs, DTS, alerts, operators.
Consider scripting any existing linked server.
    Hope this helps.
