  • How can I convert a Database Handle from TestStand to LabVIEW?

I want to use a Database Handle (already created in TestStand by an Open Database step) in a LabVIEW-VI (called from TestStand) to connect it with the "Connection Reference" input of the "Easy SQL.vi"? If I use a directly connection via the "TestStand - Get Property Value (Number).vi" I get back the error message 4101 in LabVIEW. How can I convert the Database Handle?

The TestStand database step types use the CVI SQL Toolkit to talk to databases. The handle that you are referencing is an internal memory location and not a actual handle that you can directly use. Currently as implemented the handle that is stored in a numeric TestStand property for the connection and the SQL statement are the handle values returned from the CVI SQL Toolkit. So for the connection handle, you could call the CVI SQL Toolkit function
    DBGetConnectionAttribute (
    int Connection_Handle,
    tDBConnectionAttr Attribute,
    void *Value);
and get the CVI CAObjHandle reference. With this you could then call the CVI ActiveX function
    CA_GetInterfaceFromObjHandle(
    CAObjHandle Object_Handle,
    const IID *Interface_Id,
    int Force_AddRef,
    void *Inte
    rface_Ptr,
    int *Did_AddRef);
to get the actual ActiveX interface reference. This would have to be converted into a LabVIEW reference.
You may want to consider just using LabVIEW to open a new parallel reference only using the toolkit.

  • Keep getting failure msg saying can't convert file containing XFA forms. help

I just purchased the adobe convert program to convert this one file I need now and it won't work!  it says it can't convert XFA forms. Help! How do I do this?

You can't. What it says is true, and it doesn't really matter what an XFA form is except that you have one.
But let's go back a step. Why do you need to convert? What is the problem you want to solve? XFA forms are designed to be filled in, printed, and have their fields exported - that's all, and all most people ever need too. Converting forms to other formats almost never solves the problem people think they have.

  • Can BI Publisher call stored procedures?

Can BI Publisher call stored procedures,no matter how?

    Hi,Chris
"Stored PL/SQL procedures can be called from data Templates and Oracle Reports."Really? It is a great news for me.
Currently I am working on a poc.
There is a problem about calling Oracle stored procedures directly thru BI EE or BI Publisher.
Our customer has a lot of stored procedures in their previous system, they strongly hope our BI EE can call these sp directly.
All of these sp return the result set to the cursor, then the applications operate the cursor.
As there is no way can BI EE working with Oracle stored procedures or cursor,I am wondering whether can I call the sp from BI Publisher.
Can BI Publisher call sp or pl/sql?Can data template using pl/sql not only pure sql statements?
I have try write some pl/sql in data template, but it failed. It seems that the data template can only operate on some returned result sets. But sp won't.
If sp can be called thru data template, everything will be ok for me.For I can use pl/sql to opereate the returned cursor.

  • How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database(MSSQL)?

    Dears,
How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database such as MS-SQL?
I have a third party system based on MS-SQL 2000.
Now we want to make a integration between SAP R/3(Oracle) and SQL server.
When my user releases the purchase order in R/3, the application we coded will convert the releated data to the temp database on the SQL server.
But i don't know which tools will help me reach the purpose.  BAPI, LSMW, IDoc... ???
Would anybody tell me which way is better and how to do?
    Thanks a lot!
    Kevin Wang

    Hello Kevin,
The question to use which method depend on your detail requirements. If you use BAPI, you need to find which Bapi can provide the data you want. Bapi normally use as a function called by external system. So you need to develop an external program like VB/Java to call this Bapi and move it to SQL. LSMW is use when you want to upload data from an external system to SAP. So it does not serve your requirement. Idoc can be use to export data to an external system. Again like Bapi, you need to find what Idoc can provide the data you want. However, it does not any programming from the external system. If I were you, based on your requirements, I think writing an Abap program that read the data you want and download it to NT/SQL server will be faster and easier.

  • How can i convert data from DBF to oracle database 10g?

    Sir,
How can i convert data from DBF to oracle database 10g?

I assume you at least know how to dump the contents of foxpro dbf file into CSV format.
Regarding SQL*Loader, hope this demo makes it a bit clear to you...

I agree that it is an old web page (references Oracle 8.0.5) but basics remain the same.
If it is still unclear to you after referring above link, then get an Oracle consultant.

  • Can i convert logical standby database to physical standby database

    Dear All,
Can i convert a logical standby database to physical standby database?
If yes, what are the steps to follow?
    Thanks
    Mahipal

I never needed or tested something like this, but below maybe usefull -
    Transient Logical Standby
Users can convert a physical standby to a transient logical standby database to effect a rolling database upgrade, and then revert the standby to its original state as a physical standby database once the upgrade is complete - using the KEEP IDENTITY clause. This benefits physical standby users who wish to execute a rolling database upgrade without investing in redundant storage otherwise needed to create a logical standby database.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/htdocs/DataGuardOverview.html
But opposite is documented - http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14239/create_ls.htm#BEIGJCAC
    best regards.

  • Odbc connection test success but can't link the database to oracle with 1013 call failed error.

i am using my MS Access 2013 to connect with my oracle database. I created the odbc link and successfully have connection test pass. However i can;t link the database with my MS access. When i am using different software (mapinfo), i am able to connect to oracle database. The error is"1013: user requested cancel of current operation"

In MS access, i open the external data and select odbc. Select my odbc link created previously, enter the password and after a while the error message pop up.
But if i am using another tools, such as SQL Developer or Mapinfo, i will able to connect to oracle database using the same odbc link.

  • How can I convert MPEG files (stored on a PC) to use in iMovie on my Macbook Pro?

How can I convert MPEG files (stored on a PC) to use in iMovie on my Macbook Pro?

Get a free app called MPEG Streamclip.
    Available here.
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
Drag your clip or clips into MPEG Streamclip. Then use FILE/EXPORT TO QUICKTIME to export the clips in Apple Intermediate Codec.
Sometimes, MPEG2 clips also require that you install the Apple QuickTime MPEG2 Playback Component. MPEG Streamclip will tell you if you need this. This is available from Apple for $20.

  • How can I convert a DSS dictation file to mp3?

Am new to using a Mac and my last place of work I used a PC with Speechexec dictation software.  I need to convert some of the old dictation files to play on either QuickTime or iTunes etc.  Anyone any idea?

I would like to validate and recommend the solution mentioned by Mark Dachille. I, too, have conducted extensive Google searches to find software which can convert Olympus DSS audio-formatted files to mp3, only to discover that there is no such animal out there. NCH Software offers Switch, but if you check out the list of formats supported by Switch, you will learn that while Switch is supported for Windows, Switch is incapable of converting Olympus's proprietary DSS audio files to any other audio format. Any attempt to do so will reveal a message that the file is empty, no data is found, etc. But if the Finder shows that your DSS does have data, then all Switch is saying, in effect, is: "Hey, I can't see anything in this file," which would be a more honest and a more accurate message, instead of using misleading language about the file itself.
(As a related issue, which I will not elaborate upon here, I have a problem with NCH Software. I detest their software upgrading policy;  I find their technical software abominable; and I caught them lying in a recent Google search, where their AdWord at the top of the page alleges that Switch "Easily convert dss audio dictations to wav or mp3 on a PC or Mac. Works on Windows and Mac." Don't believe this marketing hype. It is a blatant lie. I wrote them a letter, and I published it as an open letter in the record for Switch at MacUpdate.com, for anyone wanting further details.)
As far as converting DSS files to mp3, I have found no direct route. As Mark points out, the most elegant option is to use the Olympus DSS Player software. Fortunately, version 7.5 works with Mavericks; I just tested it out once again to confirm that. The Olympus web site provides downloads to the previous versions of DSS Player, which accompanied the purchase of an Olympus recorder, but it may not allow downloading of the original application itself to which you can apply those upgrades. However, if you do a deep Google search, you may get lucky and locate the original application.
Once in DSS Player, you import your DSS file(s). After they are listed in file window, you can export them to AIFF files. From there, you can either use Switch or any other audio converter which can convert AIFF files to mp3 files.
I happen to use Switch, because I bought a license years ago, and it does the job quite well, while also working in batch mode to convert many files at one go. But that does mean I recommend buying Switch, for the reasons I discuss in my comments at MacUpdate.com. Be careful dealing with this software company: have your eyes open before you purchase.
NCH Software has had years in which to empower Switch to work on the Mac, but they either cannot code the program to do this, or they do not want to. Either way, they should not lie about saying their program CAN do in their Goggle AdWord, while admitting on their website, if you probe before you buy, that Switch can NOT convert DSS to mp3 after all. I have a bias against liars.
I find it interesting that NCH Software is not above slamming Olympus for having developed, in NCH's opinion, an inferior audio format for recording dictation. Whether that is true or not, I cannot comment for it is a technical matter beyond my expertise. However, I can say that setting your Olympus recorder (in my case, model DS-2, which has worked flawlessly for me for years), allows you to record many more messages before the storage capacity (of about 68 MB on my device) is reached. So, there is an incentive, in my case, to use DSS on the device, but to convert the source DSS files later on to usable formats on my Mac.
My calculations indicate that when you convert a DSS file to an AIFF file via the DSS Player, your file size will increase about 13 times, meaning that a 1 MB DSS file will convert to a 13 MB AIFF file. Converting that AIFF file via Switch reduces that file to about 9 MB, which means that an mp3 file is about 9 times as large as an original DSS file. The vast difference in the file size allows me to record up to 22 hours at DSS (at 200 - 3,000 Hz) vs 1 hour at Stereo High Quality mode, which delivers an AIFF file (at 100 - 17,000 Hz).
I like being able to choose the quality settings, and I like the ability to call upon the DSS setting to record long conversations, interviews, or dictation, without fretting that I will run out of storage space. The ability to convert those DSS files, via the DSS Player, to AIFF, then to mp3 gives me the flexibility of choice.
The key to the whole process of converting DSS files to other audio formats is the Olympus DSS Player software: it is the essential intermediate step for a Mac user, without which you are stuck, unless you want to run the Windows version of Switch. I don't.

  • How can I convert a space from ABAP to CSV data?

    Hello guys,
how can I convert a string like
    "This is a%test%"
    to
    "This is  a test "

I try to with   REPLACE ALL OCCURRENCES OF '%' IN string_above WITH space,

I read some posts that CSV will ignore space.
But which kind of symbol in CSV represents space?
    Thanks for any suggestion!

  • Problem Converting standby database from snapshot to physical

Any help willl be greatly appreciated...
I am trying to convert a standby database that is in "snapshot" mode back to "physical" standby and I am encountering problems in the process from the "DGMGRL" command line.

So, here is the status now....with a little background...
After my original post, I started to read the manuals and I found the sql command to convert the database back from snapshot to physical standby (sb).
That worked fine and I had my snapshot sb back to physical sb.
So when you posted the suggestion, I already had my db in physical sb mode. I said no problem, I will convert it back to snapshot and then back again using dgmgrl instead of sql+
Well here is how my listener is configured now.
    SID_LIST_I11G1 =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = I11G1.MHOST)
    (ORACLE_HOME = c:\app\mmj\product\11.1.0\db_1)
    (SID_NAME = I11G1)
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = I11G1SB.MHOST)
    (ORACLE_HOME = c:\app\mmj\product\11.1.0\db_1)
    (SID_NAME = I11G1SB)
    (SID_DESC =
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME = I11G1SB_DGMGRL)
    (ORACLE_HOME = c:\app\mmj\product\11.1.0\db_1)
    (SID_NAME = I11G1SB)
Then using dgmgrl I tried to change the db from p-sb to s-sb and the results are not good....

Not sure if the following (notice the typo in the service name) in the parameter (log_archive_dest_2) definition on the standby d/b has anything to do with this. I did not get this error when I initially converted to s-sb.
also I checked all my session notes, I did not type the command to set this parameter on the standby d/b and so it was not a typo on my part. However, it seems to have come from the rman script supplied with the obe. This script is supposed to clone the primary d/b to a standby db and in the process replace the string /i11g1/ with /i11g1sb/.
    SQL> show parameter log_archive_dest_2

Given all this, the archive logs seem to be shipping correctly to the sby d/b.

I am tempted to start all over again, but I'd rather use this opportunity to debug this issue (as a learning exercise). I can always start from scratch. That brings up another Q: What do I need to do to blow away all traces of the stand by database (including all the archive logs etc...) keeping my primary intact. I'd also like to blow away all snapshot and archive logs for the primary as well.

  • Can I use logical databases in a WebDynpro ABAP program?

can I use logical databases in a WebDynpro ABAP program?
I need to build a WDA screen that is similar to the SAPDBPNP selection screen (user can find the personnel number based on several criteria, such as last_name/first_name of the employee).  So it seems that the existing logical databases have already many nice features already built (like the selection screens, the logic behind the screens etc). So I was wondering if/how I can use them in my WDA application.

    Hello, Tiberiu.
You cannot use LDB directly within your WDA programa. BUT, you can fetch results from this LDB by using FM LDB_PROCESS. This function module can be called anytime from any kind of ABAP program. But you will still have to create the screen, as it only processes data, not screens.
    Regards,
    Andre
PS: Pls reward points if it helps.

  • Can i use single database connection in a hole java application?

can i use single database connection in a hole java application?.I have so many forms to use database connection.

Theoretically you can. Not only theoretically. I've seen lots of application which only uses one database connection (they were using, oracle or mysql)
The first reply given here assumed that the answer to
your question depends only on the design of your
application. That is not true.Yes it's true. Nothing in the original questions says that you aren't allowed to open or close the single connection that you have. It's looks more like the OP is interested in sharing a connection (i.e having a singleton or a connection pool with only one connection)
It does also depend on the behaviour of the database
    in the background.
Most databases have a time out for connections that
are idle Not a problem. Most implementations of connection pools and applications which keeps a connection open have a timer which calls e.g. select * from dual (if you are using oracle) when the connection has been idle for X minutes.
(some, like db2 on z/OS, even cancel
connections, that are not idle, if they are open a
certain amount of time or have reached a given limit
of cpu seconds.)You would also have that problem if you had a connection pool with several connections.
In essence: If you have no control over the time
your application runs (and therefore your connection
is open) or over type or the configuration of the
database you are accessing, you can't do it.See above.
The closest thing to what you want would be using
PooledConnections, iif those are supported for the
database you want to access. Not true.
