Can i create a property node of a property node?

hello - i made a small vi that im attaching to visiualize what i am wanting to do. i have two modes in my vi - one with automation on and the other off... in manual control mode.
in automation mode...i am reading a sensor (hall effect) and when the boolean is true, then the property node of a stop motor event is automatically executed.
if i want to be in manual mode, i don't want that property node to execute whenever the boolean reads true. i only want to be able to press the stop button manually.
so i tried creating a property node of a property node, and chose the "disabled" property wiring a 1 constant into it which should be "disabled".
anyway - i don't know if this is even possible cause i am getting an error. can i make this work or how can i turn automation off and therefore turning the property node to the stop motor off too?

Don't overcomplicate things!
You don't need a property node of a property node, that would make little sense. Simply place the property node inside a case structure so it only executes under certain conditions.

Yes. You can create different Coherence nodes in the same cluster with defferent cache-config.xml files as long as you use the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file. But you cannot store the cache data in the different nodes (started with different cache-config file). In other word, a node only create caches in their own's modes which are started with the same cache-config.xml file.
See the following demo:
I start a cache server using the cache config file examples-cache-server.xml. Then I start a storage-disabled cache console (cache client) using the cache config file coherence-cache-config.xml. Both of them using the same tangosol-coherence.xml file and the same tangosol-coherence-override.xml file.
The cache server uses a cache service PartitionedPofCache. But the client side is using the Distributedcache service. The cluster address is same 224.3.5.2.
The cluster name is also samme. They know each other.

how can I use this list ? how can I conert the text to a list
that director will understand?

from a text
member you could do something like ...

Can you create a property node automatically when placing an xcontrol

I have an xcontrol that always has an input and an output. The xcontrol is always implemented as a control to comply with data flow paradyme, and a property node is used as the input connection. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to automatically create the property node when the xcontrol is placed on the front panel.
I have noticed that a blank menu item in the xcontrol, will generate a property node. Is there a way to specify which property node to generate. And is there a way to insert into the menu for the control on the block diagram instead of the pane.

My "merge-control" is just a merge vi, as attached. However the trick was to insert it into the controls palette (insert vi, view all files, select the merged vi instead of the xcontrol). Merge VI's on the controls palatte seem to be automatically set to "explode/un merge" on use.
To explain the use, this xcontrol is used to allow interuption of logic data flow. This one is to simulate a switch that is used as an input to a PLC. Thus standard simulation logic determines the normal (simulated real world) operation and is wired to the "In" parameter. The xcontrol displays the simulation value on the front panel as the light on the left. The middle switch is to either pass through the simulation value, or use the value input to the right led button. The block panel control would then be wired out to connect to the PLC. The objective of the control is to allow simulated operation, and forced faults to fully test PLC logic. Hence I needed an xcontrol with both an input and output on the block diagram and a front panel object. As we may have over 1000 of these in a project, I wanted to eliminate having to click on the block icon, select create, property node, In, and also turn off the label (to minimise space usage).

I found in the function modul BAPI_RECORD_ADDELEMENT no entry for the creation of a model node. Only the instance and the structure node can create by this function modul.
So, does anyone know a solution to create a model note?

But you can do that by using directly the Records API. How to use this is demonstrated in the report 'SRM_RECORD_API_HOWTO'. Search there for the subroutine 'fillrecordelement'. There a record element for insert is created and its type is set. You can set the type there to 'IF_SRM_SP_RECORD_ELEMENT~TYPE_MODEL'. Of course your POID then may not be an instance POID.

If you right click on an empty container or a container with an object in it, it has the same available choices to select. However, if you create a blank property node on the block diagram, and wire up the .net object to it, you will see a much different list of properties.
So, the property node created from right clicking a .NET container will be for that container, even if there is an object inside. To create a property node for the object, you must wire the .NET object to an empty property node on the block diagram.

Check Rachit's reference article and code in the referenced website where in the Execute method of the custom decode pipeline you can add/create new property to the message's context. Actual code to do the same is

But what made you to doubt this functionality in decode stage? Do you have any requirement which made you raise this question?

How can I make a "property node" for a VI?

If I add a boolean button on the FP then I am able to make a property node for that button in the Block Diagram. But how can I make a property node for a VI? I have several VI:s an that together is one program. What I need to do is to verify what kind of VI some of my VI:s is. I need to verify if it is .exe or .vi-file, and if it is .exe then I want to disable run, abort, run continuously bottons otherwise not. I have hard that this is possible to do programmaticaly but I can´t figure out how. I am aware that I could do that manually in the File->vi properties->customize->windows appearance but theese choises makes it last forever.
I want to be able to stop and run and everything if it is a .vi file, but if it is .exe-file then all those buttons should be disabled.
Anyone have an example on this?
In an other message at this Forum I read "You can use the `Front Panel Window. Allow Runtime PopUp`" property to disable run-time shortcuts menues programmaticaly, but still I dont know how to create this property node.

You really shouldn't open a new thread. If you don't understand something, ask and we will explain it.
Like I said in the other thread, you can check if you are running in LV or an EXE by using the Application>>Kind property. To get it, place a property node (from the Application Control palette) on the diagram, click it and find the property.
To set the properties for the VI, place another property node, right click it and select Select Class>>VI Server>>VI. You should have the properties you want under Front Panel Window.
To learn more about LabVIEW, I suggest you try searching this site and google for LabVIEW tutorials. Here and here are a couple you can start with. You can also contact your local NI office and join one of their courses.
In addition, I suggest you read the LabVIEW style guide and the LabVIEW user manual (Help>>Search the LabVIEW Bookshelf). I believe chapter 17 of the user manual explains about programmatic control of VIs.

Can not create the node in Repository

Hi, 
I am trying to create a content node in BEA repository. But BEA is throwing following error:
Error creating Node: NODE NAME. Please verify the Node name size is within the Repository limits.
 
I have no idea why I am getting this error. I am creating node whose name is well under the size which is allowed by CM_NODE's node_name column. Have any one come across these kind of errors? Is there any place in portal administration where I can check for minimum/ maximum limits?

Hi All,
After wasting significant amount of time, I finally found the real cause of the problem. In our application, we have some indexes on CM_NODE table. Those indexes were in unusable state. So instead of giving that error, weblogic server was giving some other error as mentioned in the previous post which resulted in lot of wastage of time. But after looking at jdbc.log file, things got cleared up. So once we fix the indexes, every thing worked fine. Too bad that portal administartion tool could not throw that exact error in debugging console.

Hello all,
Can we change the property of the elements of an array. For example:
I have an array of combo-boxes. Can i have such a scenario that different combo-boxes of the array will have different items to select an item.
I am able to set the different "values" in different combo-boxes bu using "to be more specific class" property node.
But i could not set the different item list in different combo-boxes.
Please give me the solution.

I have learnt a very new and innovative thing...
I just wanna ask you one more question in the above context.
Can i have listbox or combo-box in a table just like in an excel sheet where we can have listbox by using "data validation" property for different cells having different list.Can i have this in labview. Because for this i have to super-impose the combo-boxes on the table and treat them separately.
We have to take those combo-box values and put in table and then store it.I have attached one VI to show the scenario.
And this is the alternative solution of the array problem which u have already given. So please suggest me between the two or any alternative solution.

SAP RM: How can I create a Node when the node is not visible for the user

is it possible to create a instance node when the model not is not visible for the active user?
I looked in the CL_SRM_XML_REC_MODEL but every methode I used gave me no results with the special user.

Hi,
here an example.
When I use the method CL_SRM_XML_REC_INSTANCE->IF_SRM_XML_POID~GET_ALL( POID_TAB COUNT_USER_REST COUNT_POID_AUTH ).
When I used the user with no right for viewing the invisible nodes I get no elements in the tabelle POID_TAB and 38 in the value COUNT_USER_REST.
So did any one know a solution you can I create a nodes and change the restriction for the new node with the normal user?

How many server nodes can you create per instance

Hi,
Very often the bottle neck in a java installation (NW04s) is the heap size. In order to increase the heap you simple create new server nodes.
My question is:
How many server nodes can you create per instance?
Is there an upper limit before you have to create a new dialog instance (with a web dispatcher)?
I can imagine that when you create a new server node you also have to increase the heap and max therad of the dispatcher. Is there any upper limit of the heap size of the dispatcher node ?

I may be very late but just updating this forum for benefit of everyone who visits this.
In addition to all the points above one must also consider following things if one decides to add more server nodes to one dispatcher
1.Garbage collection time
2.Dispatcher would keep on sending request to node S2 if it is not completely bad and there by impacting all the servernode so you might end up restartiing the entire cluster.
3,Debugging also becomes diffculy as you are not sure on which server node you are within the cluster.
4.If you have something like F5 which does hear beat monitoring even one server node goes bad F5 will not report anything.
So in my view one server node per dispatcher is an ideal configuration.
Over All Dispatcher does not consume more resouces (Disk Space + CPU + memory ) at the same time it will give you maintenance flexibility.
Nothing is right or wrong ,all these things are based on how your infrastructure set up is.

How can I create a drop down menu from an array

Hello all,
I am attempting to create a subvi that allows the end user to add a part number to an .txt file, and assigns that part number a value than can be used to select one of two modes of communication to be used to write to a EEPROM. I am using the "write key.vi" and the "read key.vi" to create and read the .txt file. What I would like to do is is use "get section names.vi" to read all of the part numbers and dump them into a drop down menu after the end user generates the file using the subvi.
I guess my question is how do I dump a 1D string array into a drop down menu.
I have attached some semi-functional .vi's to give an idea of what i am attempting to do.

Place a Ring control on your front panel, then create a property node on the block digram. You can wire the output array of "Get Section Names" to populate the Strings[ ] property of the Ring.
Retrieve the specific string selected by the operator by wiring the Ring control to the Index Array function.
