  • How can i create a new camera roll?

How do you create a new roll in the photo app on an iPhone?

    You cannot.
Camera Roll is temporary storage for pis taken with iphone.  They should be imported regularly to your computer as with any digital camera.  From there you can sort them however you like and sync them to the iphone.

  • We can't get to the camera roll right now

I have a dell Latitude 10 table with Windows 8.1 RT. Last week I decided to unload all the pictures from the camera roll to my PC and I did it without a problem, but in the process I removed the camera roll folder under the public pictures library. Since
then, the camera app is not working and it gives me the following message: "We can't get to the camera roll right now". I've re-created the folder, set the default save location and public save locations to the Public Pictures folder but the error
keeps popping up every time I open the camera application. If I try to shoot a photo or a video it tells me that it couldn't be saved. How do I set the camera app to use the new folder?

I had the same Problem, and all experts could not help. I even dowloaded tools that say thy would fix the problem. Anyway as a matter of fact it still is a computer, no magic.
I found a way: Open regedit, search for "User Shell Folders".
    Then check all the directories.
In my case one of the directories refered to the one I deleted. I just changed it and restarted my computer.
On my iconia it saves into this key:
I changed it | Keep the Name of the folder "Camera Roll" depending on your language it will rename the folder in the Explorer library automaticly. (in Germany to Eigene Aufnahmen)
    {AB5FB87B-7CE2-4F83-915D-550846C9537B}
    D:\backup pics\Camera Roll

  • How can I manually set the Camera Roll to start at an arbitrary image number, i.e., IMG_0553.JPG?

I have an iPhone 4s, currently with iOS 5.1. I use it with my desktop computer which runs Windows Vista (and has the latest iTunes installed 10.6), and my laptop, which has Windows 7 and the latest iTunes. I use iCloud and Photo Stream primarily with the desktop computer.
Since receiving the iPhone on launch day, (Nov...14?, 2011), I've had to "Set [it] up as new" twice, most recently this morning.
After setting it up as new, the Camera Roll starts over with pictures at IMG_0001.JPG. That means, that, after my first picture after this latest reset, I'll have three pictures all initially named IMG_0001.JPG, and instead, I'll have IMG_0001.JPG, IMG_0001 (1).JPG, and IMG_0001 (3).JPG in my photo library. This robs me of the ability view my photos sorted by name, which is often the default sort order in my photo folders, and still see them chronologically. I can, of course, sort them by Date Created, but it would be more flexible if I could do either one.
Therefore, I'd like to set Camera Roll to start numbering its photos starting with whatever the next number higher than all the rest in my library would be, in this case, IMG_0553.JPG.
I can't just use Windows to go into the iPhone's Camera Roll and rename the first photo I take to be IMG_0533.JPG. The iPhone just doesn't allow tampering with the filename that way. Can I even count on Camera Roll to note the presence of the highest numbered file in its folder and then just name the next picture taken the next higher number?
Since I have no reason to believe that I won't have to reset the phone again, I'd like for whatever method I find to be one that I can use to set the Camera Roll to start at whatever other number I need when the time comes.
    Suggestions welcome...
I have an idea that I'm about to try...I'll report back if it succeeds...
UPDATE: So what I tried to do was, with an empty Camera Roll, I uploaded a picture with the filename and number that I wanted (IMG_0533.JPG) into my Photo Stream, then saved that picture to my Camera Roll, hoping it would retain the file name, and then Camera Roll would just use the next number. That didn't work. It saved into Camera Roll as a brand spanking new IMG_0001.JPG.

To bring the solution into this thread, here are the consolidated solution bits from the other thread:
I installed i-Funbox and found the file referenced in that other thread ( iPHone / Raw File System / PhotoData / MISC / DCIM_APPLE.plist ).
That file has a section that I'm replicating below that is the part that that original poster edited, and is the part that needs to be edited for my problem also:
              <key>DCIMLastFileNumber</key>
              <integer>5</integer>
That other thread's original poster wanted his photos to start with 0001, so he set his "DCIMLastFileNumber" to 0.
I wanted my next picture to be IMG_0553.JPG, so I edited my file's 5 to 552.
I did that editing by first copying the file to my laptop (using the Copy To PC command), then opening it up in a text editor. I did the edit, then saved it.
After that, I used i-Funbox' "Copy From PC" command to copy the edited file back to the same location, hoping that the program would take care of any permissions, etc.
I had to do the Copy From PC twice.
On the first try, it seemed to copy just fine, but, for whatever reason, the copied file was empty when I opened it for verification. But I tried again, and that seemed to work (opened for verification, and it was as expected).
I then unplugged it, copied a picture from the Photo Stream to the Camera Roll, then plugged it into my laptop to verify the filename. It was exactly as I wanted: IMG_0533.JPG. Then, for fuller verification, I unplugged it, took a new picture, then replugged it in, and confirmed that the next pictures (I had HDR on) were IMG_0534.JPG and IMG_0535.JPG.
...and that's where I am. Nothing has crashed yet, too, which is all to the good ('course, I haven't done anything else with the phone yet).
    Fingers crossed!

  • I can't send photos from camera roll iphone4 to a email address. It just stopped sending photos.

i can't send photos from camera roll iphone4 to a email address. It just stopped sending photos.

    iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Accounts ->
Delete and recreate your email settings.
It's only difficult if you get all emotional over tiny things and don't stop to look for answers first. I find Macs very simple to use.

  • Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files?

Is there any way I can view / remove pictures from Camera Roll on the iPhone, on a Mac, without actually importing the files? I just want to view / delete files without importing them.
For instance I have 1200 photos on my iPhone Camera Roll. Some of these are shots, that I've taken multiple times, some good, some bad. I just want to clean up my Camera Roll, but going through the pictures on the iPhone's small screen is tedious. I'd much rather look at the camera roll's photo's on my Mac, and then decide which files I'd like to keep, and which to delete.
I don't want to import the files, as when I import the files, and delete them from Camera Roll, now the Photo's are not on my phone, and the only way to get them back on my Phone is to Import them back in using iTunes, and then they go into the Picture Library and not the Camera Roll.
In the same way as I can view Pics from my digital camera's SD card on a Mac without having to actually copy them to my computer, is there any app out there that will let me view my iPhone pics without importing them.

    The short answer is yes.
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
    Open Image Capture application.
Click on the 4 little squares at bottom to view them as photos, not a list.
Select the photos them click the No Entry icon at bottom to delete.

  • Can I create a shared photostream from my pc?

I know I can upload photos from my PC to My Photostream, but I want to create a Shared Photostream (album) with photos from my PC.  It seems I cannot create an individual Shared Photostream album on my PC, and upload pictures to it.  I can only create a Shared Photostream from my iPhone, and upload photos to it from my iPhone.  Am I doing something wrong?
The problem with My Photostream is the photos there will get bumped in time, with pictures taken by my iPhone.  I want to keep the photos in a Shared Photostream (album) so as to play them on my Apple TV.
    What can I do?
    Thanks!!!

Thanks so much.  I clicked the New photo stream link at the top and was able to make an album of photos to display on my Apple TV, just as desired.  Only problem now is that the Random Theme selection in Apple TV does not rotate amongst the various themes, it just sticks on one, unlike the Random Theme selection in Ken Burns or Classic selection choices at the bottom of the list which does rotate.  If you know anything about this, please let me know.  Meanwhile thanks again to set me straight on the first tip!

  • Which can I delete...camera roll or photo stream?

Which can I delete...camera roll or photo stream?

    Hello cleofigaro
You can delete from both places if you want. All you would need to do is view the photo that you do not want and then tap the trashcan icon in the lower right hand corner. If you want to do more photos at once, when looking a multiple photos tap the Select button in the upper right hand corner and then tap the photos and videos that you want deleted and then hit the trashcan to remove them

  • 4G mobile dongle, can it create a shared modem signal for my family?

I have a 4G mobile dongle, can it create a shared modem signal for my family's individual laptops when I am in a holiday house with no wifi?

Your assumption is breathaking. I use a Mac. Ihave done so since 1987. And my previous wifi dongle enabled me to share the connection. I have been sold 2 new dongles by EE, one for the general connection which we can use in the holiday cottage which has no wifi and one for the car, yes a car based wifi connector. We shall see.

  • HT4890 Can you move photos from camera roll to photo stream?

Can you move photos from camera roll to photo stream?

Photos taken on your device (which are saved to the camera roll) after enabling photo stream are automatically added (when connected to wifi, the camera app is closed, and you have at least 20% battery power remaining).  If you want to add earlier photos you'll have to either email them one by one to yourself, then open the email and save them back to your camera roll (which will now upload to photo stream because it is considered a new photo), or you can send them all at once using an app like PhotoSync.  With this app you can transfer them wirelessly to your computer, then delete them from your camera roll on your phone, the send them back to the camera roll from your computer (which will again cause them to be seen as new photos).  (iTunes will not transfer photos to your camera roll so you can't just import them and sync them back.)

  • Photostream overly complicated, can't save photos to Camera Roll

For those of us who like to manage our photos manually, why is it so overly complicated to manage images between Photostream and Camera Roll?
First, I just want to save photos from my old iPhone, which I added to from iPhoto to my Photostream because it seemed to be the only way, to my Camera Roll. This is not possible though. When I go to Photostream and select photos then select "Add To" it shows Camera Roll but it does not allow me to select Camera Roll and add them. The only option I can select is to create a new album within Photostream. If I just select an image in Photostream and then hit the share button, it also does not give me a save to Camera Roll option.
I only want to use the Camera Roll, yet even with Photostream turned off, photos I take on my iPhone still show up in the Photostream.
I just don't understand why this is so complicated. I've seen forum discussions that say it's easy to save Photostream photos to Camera Roll, but I've tried every way mentioned but it never gives me the option of saving to Camera Roll.
    Help please. Thanks.

Create an album for your old photos.  Connect your phone to iTunes on your computer. On the phone's summary page tap the Photos tab. Check the Sync photos from checkbox. Click the button next to the checkbox.  Navigate to the folder on your computer where the pictures are located.  Add them to your album.
Doing this in reverse is the only way to get these pictures back off your phone.
I agree iCloud / Photostream for photos is way to complicated and useless, but it is locked down to keep people from trying to use it to share commercial videos and music via the shared photostream. At least that is my guess.

  • How can I delete photos from camera roll but not from another album??

When I create a new album and copy some pictures from the camera roll to the new album, they stay on the camera roll, and when I delete one of the copied ones from camera roll it also gets deleted from the new album, how can I avoid this???

You can't. The way that I consider it to work is that you are effectively just creating a pointer to the photo in the new album (I don't think that the total number of photos on the device increases when you 'copy' them into new albums), so if you then delete the original photo you will also delete all the pointers to it.

  • I can not send project to camera roll

I have a 14 minute project in Imovie (ipad) that I can not move to camera roll or upload to any sharing website.  I was able to move the project to Itunes (windows XP), but I can not do anything with the .imoviemobile file.  The project was shot with Iphone and GoPro camera.  All GoPro footage was first converted to Ipad friendly files so they could be used.
I would like to get this project shared to youtube, but I am stuck.
I have uninstalled imovie and reinstalled the app and then project.
    I have restarted to Ipad
I have tried re-sending the project to camera roll and still, the app crashes.

  • Can I create a shared calendar on iCal from the New iPad?

My company just gave out iPads for use to all field employees. My coworkers and I currently have an Outlook shared calendar that we utilize for scheduling our work. We can not access the shared calendars on our iPads, therefore I would like to create a shared calendar in iCal that we can all access for sharing our schedule as we were doing on Outlook. Is this possible?
NOTE: The idea is that I would like to use the iPad as the sole resource, instead of carrying our laptops around just to access the shared outlook calendar/schedule. The laptops are outdated junk that requires roughly 20 mins of time just to power up, connect and sign in to our servers...very inefficient.
    Thank you!

I have a bluetooth 2 keyboard from Brookstone, will it work with the iPad?
