Can I cut my GUI into "hotspots" using Java code?

I'm working on the GUI of my app. I learned how to do the GUI by having the frame, and dropping the necessarry components (i.e: buttons, text boxes, etc) onto the frame.
Well, my graphics-guy made me a nice looking skin for the application, and he already drew in the buttons, etc, so they look nice. Is it possible for me to "cut up" the graphic into 'hotspot' areas, sort of like you do with web pages, and to have the actionListener code from each of my buttons be 'attached' to that hotspot area on the graphic?

Don't know, whether it's possible to use "hotspots".
But what's about the possibility of invisible components placed over your graphic.
i.g.
JButton b = new JButton();
b.setBorder(null); // no border
b.setContentAreaFilled(false); // invisible Background
// and so on.You can hide nearly any part of any component but its still usable.
(Add listeners, edit text areas ...)
Use your graphic as background of (invisible?) Frame, the rest you've already done.
Only a suggestion, i don't know whether there is a more professional solution.

Ok, so there is a way, but it's not available during submission. You can use the findRequests api. From the result set, get the "Requests.Consolidated Data Value" value. In this information, you will get an xml formatted data. It provides the list of users on the request on the left side after submission. After the request is completed, this value is available. Upon completion, you could get the request information, get this value, and parse the information for user ids.
In the same adapter, use the following API:
formIntf.setObjectFormData(objInstanceKey, formHash)
The formHash is a hashtable containing the field name on your object form, and the values you wish to populate it with. You could create a textarea box on your object form and populate the userids for who the request is for.
However, this makes absolutely 0 sense. When you get a request, the list of userids are listed right there on the request.

Document theDoc = new DocumentImpl(theDocType);

I get the message "nothing to display" or "no region or audio file selected" After much research on the web, I believe this is a permanent bug. Does anyone have a good work-around for this type of work. We record live 16T band rehearsals constantly and would love to be able to break individual songs out of the large file and be able to use the sampler. Thanks in advance for your ideas! Cheers.

Another thing - if I copy one of the tracks to another track, then the sample editor works on the copied track. I don't want to have to copy 16 tracks to new tracks to be able to use the sample editor on a project. Thanks again.

Almost certainly. And they solved it too, given the document I'm looking at right now which is an e-ticket for an airline that has many barcodes and other generated images on it.

No issues.. you can use java code... in jsp struts
based framework..
SJYou can use Java code as scriptlets in any JSP, but that doesn't mean there are no issues.
I would say it's a bad idea for the following reasons:
(1) Scriptlet code is difficult to read when mingled with HTML
(2) You can't unit test scriptlet code
(3) It increases the chance that business logic will leak into pages where it doesn't belong.
Better to use a well-proven tag library like JSTL or the Struts taglibs and keep all scriptlets out of your JSPs.

I don't think there is any way to write .xls file directly. You'll have to use some Java API (iText etc.) to create an .xls file. However, you can write .csv file that can be easily converted into .xls at the target end. In MS, it opens as Excel file if delimiter is comma *,*.

In my application use will enter some set of Cost Centers in a table and submits request.
In return i will get a list of invalid cost centers which i need to display in a table with input field
In that table all cost centers will displayed, but invalid cost centers should be highlighted or background color should some other color. like red or yellow.

    declare a error message in message pool and declare a method say "checkCostCenters " and in this method, u can check whether it is a valid cost center .. if it is invalid cost center , then throw the erro message using the below code :
