Can I Edge up from Galaxy s5 to iPhone 5s, after 4 months?

Recently I went in to my local Verizon store and worked with my Mngr.,sales rep. "JEFF". I was and currently on the EDGE program. I am very dissatisfied with my wife's and my Galaxy s5. I have had nothing but problems lately with freezing, multiple screens popping up, weird error messages that apps have stopped working, etc. on both phones. The reason I went in to talk to sales rep. was to see if I could pay off our EDGE Galaxy S5's and EDGE up to IPhone 5S's. Which it clearly states if i'm not mistaken,"If you pay off the balance of your EDGE phone, you can EDGE up to any other EDGE approved smartphone". This is true even if it is a month after purchasing your current EDGE phone. Well I guess this is not true because with me being a long long time IPhone user, I was not allowed to pay off my Galaxy S5 in order to get IPhone 5S, I also produce, create and DJ House music in which IPhone is phenomenal for. My sales rep. called customer support to ask them if I could EDGE up and they told me no because I had a bad payment one month. I had my bill payed through my checking acct. in which it would not go through and yes there was plenty of money in there. Needless to say I withdrew the money and payed with cash. Well Verizon has held that against me and is now saying I cannot EDGE up to a new device if I pay off my current EDGE phone. Is this correct? Am I being lied to? Because if you pay off your phone you are eligible to EDGE up? Correct? I mean Verizon would be the ones making out in this whole thing, but why would they tell me that I cannot do so?

    Hi SYDETRAKK, I can understand wanting to Edge to a device that would be more suitable for your needs and uses and we do want to help. The Edge program  would be an installment program, so any history of a failed payment can have an impact on your eligibility. However, this eligibility is reviewed systematically throughout your service with Verizon. If you are unable to Edge now due to a previous payment concern, you may simply need to show good payment history for the next few months and we would be able to check for the Edge eligibility once again. Not to worry, you have not been prevented from Edging up entirely and you would be able to do so in the future.
