• Not enough memory & can't fire events messages

I get these messages opening a document or trying to save.

The message has nothing to do with low disk space.
There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, the memory chips on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the startup volume.) That activity is relatively slow and causes the whole system to be less responsive. It can happen for two reasons:
A long-running process with a memory leak (a kind of bug)
Not enough memory for your usage pattern
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if it's not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The process named "Safari Web Content" renders web pages for Safari and other applications. It uses a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider it a prime suspect.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet4" or "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing software. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. Empty the print queues in the Printers & Scanners preference pane (which has a slightly different name in each recent version of OS X.) If you don't use an HP printer, remove the software. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
The System Memory tab of the Activity Monitor window shows how physical memory is being used. "Wired" memory should be a small part of the total. That memory is not swapped, but it makes less physical memory available which may then result in swapping. If you have a lot of wired memory, that's usually an indication of a memory leak in a third-party program that modifies the operating system at a low level. Ask for guidance in that case.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

• Fire event in web dynpro java

Hi,
I want to fire events in code e.g. sorting of table columns. I'm sure I cannt call event handler with null parameter here.
Can anybody please help here?
Thanks in advance.
Rgds,
Atul.

Hi Kishan,
I think I'm confusing you. i do not have any controller usage.
below is my event handler method:
public void onActionSortTableColumn(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
TableAccessories Accessories = wdContext.currentcontextElement().getTableSorter();
Accessories.onTableEvent(wdEvent);
I just want to anyhow call this method, without wdEvent being null.
Is there any way I can fire the event and this method get called OR to create wdEvent to call this method directly?
Rgds,
Atul.

• Form Code Execution

Hi,
Is it possible that we can execute the Oracle Form code on the fly, like PL/SQL Code using the Execute Immediate.
Scenario
Declare
lv_block_name Varchar2(100);
lv_item_name Varchar2(100)
Begin
lv_block_name := :System.current_block;
IF lv_block_name = 'XYZ' Then
lv_item_name := :system.current_item;
end;
I have store this sample code in the database, and I goona pass this code to the Oracle Form library and want it execute in the Library..... Any solution or idea...
Thanks,
Edited by: Mohsin on Feb 22, 2011 1:18 PM

There is no such thing like "Dynamic Forms PL/SQL" or whatever you want to call it. Dynamic SQL is executed on the Database Server, and thus the Forms Builtins cannot be executed as the Database doesn't understand them.
However; even if you just want to store Database PL/SQL in Tables I wouldn't dare to go down that road.
First of all it's a nightmare to maintain as a recompile of your forms won't fail when you change your objects which would brake your code but as it's all dynamic nobody can tell. Also have fun debugging your dynamic routines when you search for bugs (yes, you will have bugs, no one writes error free code). Second is that it's a unnecessary overhead (retrieve the logic from the database, parse it and execute it again) leaving alone that you most certainly will trash the Shared Pool of the database. Your solution will seriously suffer from performance and will never scale, that's for sure. And of course you will have a serious security issue. The day someone get's access to your table where your code is stored is the day your database will start to behave abnormal and you most certainly will loose data.
So don't think about implementing such a silly approach no matter how cool you think it is: it's not. It's a nightmare and a risk from every single point of view.
Storing PL/SQL in the database is already invented: it's called stored procedures. Storing somewhat generic Forms PL/SQL is also already invented: it's called Library. Don't try to reinvent things which already exist as your solution most certainly won't work as good as the one already provided by oracle.
cheers

• Useful Code of the Day: Button fires events while held

Have you ever been making a GUI application with Swing and used some JButtons? Fun, right? Have you ever wanted to have the button fire action events while the button was being held down? Well, if you just stick a plain JButton in your application and press and hold the mouse button on it, you'll see it doesn't do anything except sit there looking pressed in. Insolent button!
RepeatButton (code below, couldn't think of a better name) is a JButton subclass which contains a timer that is set when the mouse button presses the button, and after a slight initial delay (configurable), fires action events to all registered action listeners repeatedly (with another configurable delay between events) until either the mouse is released or the mouse moves out of the button (it starts up again if the mouse moves back over without releasing the mouse button) or the button is disabled. The event modifiers are passed on as well, so you know if the shift or control buttons (or whatever) are being pressed at the same time.
There is also a method to disable the repeated action firing while holding. This, in effect, turns the button into a normal JButton, if needed.
There is a main method for testing which will show a button in a frame and print out the action command for each action event fired.
import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
import java.awt.image.*;
import javax.swing.*;
import javax.swing.event.*;
*
RepeatButton
is a
JButton
which contains a timer
* for firing events while the button is held down. There is a default
* initial delay of 300ms before the first event is fired and a 60ms delay
* between subsequent events. When the user holds the button down and moves
* the mouse out from over the button, the timer stops, but if the user moves
* the mouse back over the button without having released the mouse button,
* the timer starts up again at the same delay rate. If the enabled state is
* changed while the timer is active, it will be stopped.
* NOTE: The normal button behavior is that the action event is fired after
* the button is released. It may be important to konw then that this is
* still the case. So in effect, listeners will get 1 more event then what
* the internal timer fires. It's not a "bug", per se, just something to be
* aware of. There seems to be no way to suppress the final event from
* firing anyway, except to process all ActionListeners internally. But
* realistically, it probably doesn't matter.

• Can anyone provide the javascript code for a master form

I like to know how I can set up a master form on acrobat standard? My issue is that I would like, as I fill the master form, to be able to have the rest of the forms fill in automatically. Please help me with this issue!
Thanks,
Raul

Take a look at http://www.jotform.com. You can create as many forms as you like here for free and they don't contain advertising.
You could also try Google docs, so go to http://www.google.com and log into your account or create one and then go to settings and the docs section. It is free an you can create as many forms as you like and there isn't really any advertising to speak of.
Other than this, it is easy to create your own form using html.
If you are publishing to MobileMe, then you can do it, but you need to enter <Form action Mailto:, so all the info opens in the clients e-mail and is e-mailed directly to you.
If you are using an external server such as GoDaddy, then you can use form mail and enable this on your server, so the result is e-mailed to you.

• Can I extend the width of auto-complete beyond form field itself?

I have a form field that has a width of about 30. Often, the information entered is longer than 30 characters.
I use auto complete on my forms option.
Is it possible to extend the drop down of auto-complete-saved information beyond the 30 characters of the form-field itself? Sometimes the first 30 characters of more than one previously entered answer are the same.
The only way to know if I selected the right one is to just guess and then go to end and see if I picked the right one.
Thanks in advance.

There are a few extensions that allow you to "drag" a '''textarea''' larger than what the web page specifies, but AFAIK those extensions only work with multi line textareas not with '''''single line''''' form textareas.
I have used this extension in the past, but it has been problematic in Firefox 3.6 versions. IIRC it didn't ever work with single line textareas, like in forms.
Never tried this one.
Have a thread which sleeps a certain amount of time and when awakes raise 'my event' and sleeps again, and so on.
Now, how do i create 'my event' and how do i raise 'my event'.
On the other hand, i need a listener to 'my event' and i need to put methods so objects can register as listeners of 'my event'.
The events in awt are, of course, raised by a GUI element, such as a button or combo box, for example. But i need a thread (that has nothing to do with the awt package itself) to raise my event. Can i do that?
So, i need an infrastructure around my 'my event' problem:
1.Make a class called MyEvent which the thread will send
2.Create a mechanism for the objects to register themselves as listeners of 'my event'
3. And i think that's all
What do you say?

Yes, you can do that. You'll need to create a class to represent your event, and you'll need to start a thread to raise the event. It's fairly straightforward programming. Here's a very simple example of a class that can register listeners and fire events to those listeners. Code very similar to this is used in the Java libraries to register listeners for AWT components, etc.
import java.util.Enumeration;
import java.util.Vector;
public class EventfulClass {
private Vector mListeners = new Vector();
protected void fireEvent(MyEvent ev) {
for (Enumeration enum = mListeners.elements(); enum.hasMoreElements(); ) {
MyListener listener = (MyListener)enum.nextElement();
listener.myMethod(ev);
public void addListener(MyListener listener) {
mListeners.addElement(listener);
public void removeListener(MyListener listener) {
mListeners.removeElement(listener);

• Call Menu Event from code

Good Day
Experts:
I would like to call a MenuEvent from code in one of my forms. A Sub in my Main.vb class called MenuEvent handles which form to open:
MenuEvent(ByRef pVal As SAPbouiCOM.MenuEvent, ByRef BubbleEvent As Boolean)
I cannot figure out how to call that MenuEvent from in my form code. So far I have:
Project.Class.MenuEvent(test, True)
test is defined as:
Dim test As SAPbouiCOM.MenuItem
test = "AddOper"
When I run the code to try and call this MenuEvent, I get an error "Unable to cast object System.String to type SAPbouiCOM.MenuItem"
Does anyone have an feedback that might help me call a MenuEvent from my form code?
Thanks,
EJD

Thanks for the Response Ad
I did not explain well. The MenuEvent Sub I have here refers to a Menu that I am loading as an AddOn. From that menu I am loading forms/screens that were written in VB.Net. Here is the code for a few of the forms/screen calls in my MenuEvent sub:
Public Shared Sub MenuEvent(ByRef pVal As SAPbouiCOM.MenuEvent, ByRef BubbleEvent As Boolean)
Try
Select Case pVal.MenuUID.ToUpper
Case "Test_WO"
Dim WOForm As New Test_WO
BubbleEvent = False
Case "Test_AddOper"
Dim WOAddOperForm As New Test_AddOper
BubbleEvent = False
End Select
Catch ex As Exception
HandleException("Event Handler - Menu Event Handler", ex, False)
End Try
End Sub
I want to make a call from this MenuEvent while inside a form/sceen. This way the User does not have to go back to the Menu list and click on it. So, I need to call Public Shared Sub MenuEvent(ByRef pVal As SAPbouiCOM.MenuEvent, ByRef BubbleEvent As Boolean) from inside a form/screen. I canot figure out the syntax to make the Case "Test_WO" fire from inside my form.
Can you help?
Thanks,
EJD

• Proper method to fire off some code to create a default set of detail data.

Greetings, fellow nerds. First, I'd like to thank the folks that have helped me out in the past. I don't always return back to the topic to give kudos, and sometimes I even figure out my problem before anyone says anything. And I try to find reference to my problem by doing a search on it beforehand. Which often works.
Anyways...
I've got a mater/detail form that I set up using the wizard. Every time a new master record is created, I'm gonna want to set up 62 generic rows of detail records to be associated with it. The detail section defaults to an 'add row' button, which may actually be used, and even the delete function. But, I don't want the user to have to enter 62 rows.
I've created a table of the generic rows, and have written the sql to populate the details table, using the bind variable that is the id of the master table/row.
If the user is looking at the master table 'report', and clicks create, it fires off the add process for the master table. No details. Filling in the various master fields, and clicking create, a master record is created, and the page stays there with no re-direct back to the 'report'. And the options are now 'apply changes', and 'cancel'. Cancel takes you back to the 'report', with no details created. At the same time, the details become available for this new master record. But again, with the option to add a single detail row.
At what point should I fire off the code that will generate the 62 rows of template detail records? Do I just add a button beside the 'add row' button, that will fire off the code, and return them to what they are looking at, with the 62 rows staring back at them to edit? Do I hook it to the 'create' button on the master portion of the page? If so, I'd want it to fire after all of the validations for the master data, and the master record was in fact inserted.
I'd like to do this the 'correct' way.
Thanks in advance,
Clayton

I can't say anything about a correct way of doing this. Your descriptions doesn't
point to any critical issues if doing it this or another way. What I can say is that
this looks like a perfect case for utilizing collections.

• Can't pass event from WebDynPro to JspDynPage - why?

I Created JSP project and embedded in main page script (in its title),
which subscribes to event by EPCM API,
EPCM.subscribeEvent("urn:ru.intertech.common.wd.component", "save",   go);
and created WebDynPro page that fires event using, when pressing on some bution:
WDPortalEventing.fire("urn:ru.intertech.common.wd.component", "save", navUrl);
but first code newer receives that event...
why so ?
for test reason I tested firing EPCM event on same JSP page,
and it was received,
also
I tested receiving Portal event "urn:com.sapportals:navigation", "Navigate"
it was received on same JSP page.
both iViews is not URL isolated according their properties.
WebDynPro package is:
package ru.intertech.common.wd.component;
note from else people expirence:
Does it important that receiving and firing side must be in same package? as written there:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/thread?messageID=462647
"The problem was that I created the Sender Application in package "com.sender" and the Receiver Application in "com.receiver".
I created them in the same package and it works."
What means domain for JSP page or WspDynPro component?
Does it important?
=================
JSP code is (changed script formattin to be able to post here, and removed else business content):
[hbj_content  ]

function go[ evt ]

your reply is worth.
what is the domains for views on one page?
where to see it?
Also, standard SAP MDM controls which we are using not working under any other browser except IE,
I tested on FF and Google Chrome, they do not erform dynamic part of the controls.
Despite this, debugging of scripts is important thing, so every piece is worth.
One more detail:
Also, two such a controls do not receive events from each other,
but ony within self..
why so ?

• Can't remove event listener from Image

I'm clearly missing something and would appreciate some help. I'm trying to run an event handler when an Image completes loading, then remove the handler so that it won't run again should the image be reloaded later.
The problem that I'm having is that the event handler simply wont' go away, despite calling removeEventListener on the Image object.
The following example demonstrates the problem (the example doesn't actually do anything useful...it's just the shortest example to demonstrate the problem). (To run the app, you'll have to provide any ol' JPEG file named "myImage.jpg" in the "src" directory of your project).
What I expect to happen is :
1) on startup, the image loads and loadComplete() runs.
2) loadComplete removes the event Listener so that subsequent re-loads won't re-fire the handler. I only want the handler to run once.
3) "loadComplete" shoudl be displayed in the Debug console.
4) A button click should display only "Changing Image" in the Debug console
What I get instead is that the loadComplete handler isn't removed, and every time I click the button, loadComplete runs when the image is re-loaded (i.e., every button click results in both "Change Image" AND "loadComplete" being displayed in the Debug console).

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute">
<mx:Image width="655" height="181" source="myImage.jpg" id="myImage" autoLoad="true" scaleContent="true" complete="loadComplete()" x="100" y="100"/>
<mx:Button x="100" y="341" label="Button" click="click(event)"/>
<mx:Script>

private function loadComplete():void
trace ("loadComplete");
myImage.removeEventListener("complete", loadComplete);
private function click(evt:Event):void
trace ("Changing Image");
myImage.load("myImage.jpg"); // Reload same image; it's just an example

</mx:Script>
</mx:Application>

Hi,
You can remove only event listeners that you added with the addEventListener() method in an ActionScript block. You cannot remove an event listener that was defined in the MXML tag, even if it was registered using a call to the addEventListener()method that was made inside a tag attribute.
Check this page for reference.
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=events_05.html
You can modify the code a bit a get it working
<mx:Image width="655" height="181" id="myImage" scaleContent="true"
x="100" y="100"
creationComplete="myImage_creationCompleteHandler(event)"/>
private function myImage_creationCompleteHandler(event:FlexEvent):void
myImage.addEventListener("complete",myImage_completeHandler);
myImage.load("myImage.jpg");
private function myImage_completeHandler(event:Event):void
myImage.removeEventListener("complete",myImage_completeHandler);

• Want to fire event receiver before workflow is execute while adding File in Document Library.

Hi,
I have Event receiver and workflow attached to same Document
Library.
Is it possible to fire event receiver before Workflow is
executed ?
Regards,
Milind

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want fire event receiver before workflow is excuted.
If the workflow for a list is set to auto-start, it will always execute before event receiver by default.
Here is a similar thread for your reference:
http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/3147/execution-order-of-event-receivers-and-workflow-on-a-list
As a workaround, you can set the workflow start by manually. Then , after executing the event receiver, you can start workflow using code at the end of event receiver.
Here is a demo for your reference:

• How to fire event to generate insert message for the child objects?

We are in process to integrate CRM On Demand and existing Microsoft SQL DB.
We have the following problem:
For ex., we have CRM Object_1 that already synchronized with the SQL DB. CRM also has independent Object_2 and its child Object_2.1
We dicided that we want to connect the Object_2 as child to the Object_1.
The question is how to fire event to generate insert message for the Object_2 and Object_2.1?
What is the best technique? Is it possible to do it by workflow configuration or it needs to be done programmatically?
Thanks,
Dmitry
Edited by: 955827 on Aug 29, 2012 11:57 AM

Hi,
integration events can be generated only via worklow. You will need to create separate workflows for each record type (regardless if it is child or parent) because a workflow for the parent record type will not trigger when a child record is created/ associated. Also, the association workflows will trigger only when the specific event occurs.
There is not way to generate the integrtaion events programatically. They are generated by workflows and are read/ interpreted by a code extension.

• InputField fire event problem in webDynpro

I have one validation or Fire Event problem with respect to Inputfield in web Dynpro.
I have one Input filed and created the context varible for that, then i mapped the context varible to the InputField, and i changed the context varible type as date.So , when i run the view , it will show the calender near to the text box to select the perticular date. On select of the perticular date. It will populate selected date in to the inputField.
On selection of the perticular date. Based on the date i want to generate the next 12 months date at runtime in different text boxes. But the only event available for the InputField is only "onEnter". This is not useful in my case, bcz on selection of the Date , the user may not use the Enter key. so , how can use the other events like onSelection or onChange events in the InputFields to reach my needs.
Any one give me the idea to solve this problem.
