Can I input a square wave using 6534 DIO card?

Can I input a square wave using 6534 DIO card?
I'm trying to read in a square wave using the
6534 DIO card. It seems like a easy enough task.
But I not having any luck yet. Any helpful hint
from experienced user? I'm using an HP square wave
generator.
Thank you,
Van

what you need is the example for digital input.
at high enough speed and enough samples to see the voltage swing.
the output of the waveformgen should be between 0 and 0.4 volt to see a zero and above 1.8 volt to see a 1.
normally on a scope you see plus and minus but here you have ttl like inputs.

  • I can not read Analog input (a square wave)

I am programming with Labview 7.1 on FPGA. The hardware is PCI7831. With CB-68LP connector, I connect analog input (a square wave generator) to AI0+(68) and AIGND0(67). I try to read it with waveform chart. But I can't get a square wave on the screen. I did check the square wave generator's output. It is correct. The connector CB-68LP connected with PCI7831 on analog port.
I am runing the program on emulation, not on real FPGA.
    Thanks

Signal generator I used is 3010 function generator for BK precision. It is an old instrument. I probed output signal from this generator on oscilloscope with signal generator output conected to oscilloscope probe (+) and signal generator ground to probe (groud). It is a square wave.
I suspect the teminal I used for I/O port to PCI7831. Because my coworkers installed the hardware for me, he is absent recently. The terminal is CB-68LP  from NI with numbers ( 1 to 68) to specify each connector on it. And I got a SCB-68 Quick Reference Label sheet on my desk to specify numbers correspanding I/O port (for example, 68 -- AI0+). I suspect if this SCB-68 Quick Reference Label sheet matches the terminal CB-68LP?
I will talk to my coworkers next week.

  • Hello, i am wondering if there is any way i can expand my ipad memory y using an SD card,

Hello, i am wondering if there is any way i can expand my ipad memory by using an SD card, i would like to put some pics but mainly music onto it to free up alot of my memory space and even APPS if that is possible, i am aware u can use Camera Connection kits, to that my question would be can i also store music on there, i also am away u can get an external wifi hard drive but id like to steer away from that as it is a shared WIFI unit and im sure id upset alot of people if i was to take that option

Last of my questions, will any wireless flash drive be compatible with my ipad or no??
That's a broad question - it's possible that other wireless flash drives may work, but it is doubtful that all of them will. I am mostly familiar with AirStash, and it has been around for a long time. There are also portable wireless hard disk drives such as the Seagate Wireless Plus or SSDs such as the Kingston Wi-Drive. You have plenty of options to consider.

  • HT201209 Can I sign up to Itunes using a gift card?

Can I sign up to Itunes using a gift card or do they have to have a credit card?  I gave my little sister my Itouch and a gift card but I do not want to give her my credit card.  What can I do for her to get Itunes?

    Yes you can!

  • Can i create apple id without use the credit card?

can i create apple id without use the credit card?

I'm getting the same thing. I created a new Apple ID via the Internet (appleid.apple.com) When I go to my device to try to use it, I have to review it first and in that process, I'm asked for a credit card or iTunes gift card. There is NO 'none' option.
I work in a school district and we'd like employees to use their own apple ID for free apps which will allow them the freedom to explore apps without weighing down our tech dept with myriad requests for random apps. I deal with a broad demographic and many users are suspicious of putting personal credit card info on an Internet-based account.
However, it appears they are locked out of the store unless they have some form of payment on file. Even if they enter a gift card, what happens when it's used up? Will they get locked out of the store if they don't have a balance?
Anyone have a work around? If not ... APPLE Please update your support materials to explain this, or fix the bug.
    Thanks!

  • How can I output a square wave to control a stepper motor using 7332 controller?

I have the following system configuration for testing a linear actuator (LA):
    LabView 7.1
    NI FlexMotion 7332 Motion Controller
    NI Flex DMM 4070
The LA is a stepper motor with Step and Direction of Rotation inputs, as well as some discrete I/O for Power Enable and other functions.
The LA specification only requires that I send a 50% Duty Cycle square wave signal with frequency less than 300 Hz to it in order to make it step.  The LA has it's own power source.  I only need the 7332 to generate the drive signal and the DOR signal to the LA.  Using some of the example VI's, I can get the LA to work, but I will need to incorporate the functions in to a custom application.
How can I weed through the numerous advanced functions the 7332 offers and only generate a DOR signal and a step command at a user-defined frequency.  How do I set up the controller for this?
    Thanks

    Hello,
All the VIs that you can use to create a pulse train and digital I/O from your motion controller are found in the "Analog & Digital I/O VIs" sub-palette in the "Flex Motion" palette. Use "Load PWM Duty Cycle" and "Configure PWM Output" VIs to create the square wave. Use the "Set I/O Port Direction", "Set I/O Port MOMO", and "Set I/O Port Polarity" VIs to create digital output. I hope you find this information useful. You can learn about the specifics of these VIs and their inputs/outputs in the NI-Motion VI Help.

  • How can i output a square wave from one of the digital lines of NI 9401

    hello,
i m very much new to the LABVIEW environment and NI. please help me guys. i am using cDAQ 9172 and NI 9401 which i believe is a digital I/O device. i want a square wave of amplitude 4 to come out of it so that i can use that to control the speed of a DC motor by pulse width modulation technique by varying the duty cycle. how do i output a continuos square wave?
    Thank tou for reading.
hoping for a reply at the earliest

The DIO ports on a MIO will not satisfy your needs (unless you move to LV RT).
They do not support buffered outputs.
Your update rate (how often you can set the port and clear it) is going to be limited by how fast (a-hem slow) windows will let you iterate,
    and,
    be non-determinstic.
    You could use,
    1) LV RT with the existing board, or
    2) FieldPoint PWM module, or
    3) Arbitrary waveform generators, or
    4) HS DIO board, or
    5) use the analog output of your baord where you que-up a 0 -5V waveform of the proper shape (i.e. make sure that the duty cylce fraction of the update values are high, the rest low).
This is just to get a PWM signal out.
Now there is another issue. Determinism. How often do you plan on reading your inputs and making a change to you
r PWM? If you plan on doing more often that 10/second, write your code to handle windows going out to la-la land when you expect it to be working.
Can you tell I like LV-RT.
I hope my ramblings have helped.

  • Why do i get ringing when i am generating Square Wave using PCI 4461 DSA Card

    Hi,
when i generate square wave form DSA card PCI 4461 i am getting ringing effect as per my observation of waveform generated in CRO.Can anybody tell me why is this effect seen and how can it be rectified and removed from the signal in LabVIEW.
    Regards,
    Sneha

The analog outputs on the 4461 (and the analog inputs, for that matter) are band-limited by digital lowpass filters. These low-pass filters have a brick-wall response in the frequency domain, which results in Gibbs-phenomenon ringing in the time domain. See this discussion, among others:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibbs_phenomenon
The ringing will be excited whenever there is significant signal power near the abrupt band edge, because the abrupt cutoff will result in signal power being located just below an absence of power in the spectrum. Whenever signal power appears in spectral isolation like that, you can expect ringing in the time domain response. Your square wave consists of a series of harmonics at frequencies below, near, and well beyond the digital filter's cutoff. When the digital filter cuts off the higher harmonics, the ringing is created.
To prevent the ringing, you must create a waveform mathematically that is bandlimited already. The result will be a square wave with slower rise and fall times, but no ringing.
    Hope this helps,
    Ed

  • I am a US citizen in school in Montreal and I was given a US Apple Store gift card. How can I buy the new iPad using my gift card and with a school discount?

I am a grad student from NYC and at a university in Montreal. I was given a 500$ gift card as a gift to put towards a new ipad. BUT, I apparently cannot use the US gift card in Canada. So, what do I do? I have no time to head back to NYC to get it. I want to order it, but not sure they will ship to montreal...? And was thinking of sending it back to my parents and then have them buy it and mail it to me, but I I think them having to pay tax on this is ridiculous. On top of that, I should be able to garner the ed discount but I dont think the US recognizes Canadian schools in their system and visa versa. SO if I do buy it in the US, I can use my gift card but I can't get the discount. Or if I buy it here in MTL, I can get the discount but I cannot use the gift card..
Can anyone suggest a solution? all bright ideas welcome.

You can only use a gift card in the country it was issued in - no way around that as the Apple Store does NOT offer currency exchange with gift cards.
Nor can you order from the USA online store and ship to any address outside of the USA - again, no way around that as the online stores do NOT ship internationally.
You could send the gift card back to someone in the USA, to use to purchase your item for you, and then once they receive it, they could ship it to you.  Canada customs will hold it until they collect any import fees and taxes levied on imported consumer electronics though.
Either that or buy it in Canada with the discount, and use the card later when you get home again.

  • How to pay for icloud? I no longer trust apple with my credit card. How can we pay for icloud without using a credit card?

Having had recently a problem with my credit card with itunes (the only place I ever used that particular card), and several fraudulent charges, I no longer wish to give my credit card information to itunes or any other apple outfit. Can we pay for icloud by cheque, or money order, or some other way, perhaps a bank account where I would leave just enough money to cover the payment. This would be the only I would pay for icloud. Please let me know. thanks.

  • How can I verified my appleID without using a credit card ?

Hi ! I registered to an AppleID. Now, I need to verified my account, but I do not want to verified it with a credit card. How can I proceed to solve this problem ? (Without a verified account, I can't use any services provided by iTunes Store...)

    Hello,
    Does this link help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
Basically it explains that if you create a new Apple ID you can select 'None' for Payment Options.
If you already have a Apple ID there is another link in the page above which explains how you can do it.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can i pay off a balance using itunes gift card?

i have a balance of about 16 dollars, and i got a 15 dollar gift card, how can i use it to pay off the balance?

If you tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores on your iPad and log into your account, does your balance show at the top of your account's screen (mine shows above the 'Apple ID' line at the top).
If it doesn't show there then have you tried logging out and back into your account, and have you checked your account's purchase history (e.g. you didn't have any pre-orders or auto-renewing subscriptions that were due) ? On your computer's iTunes you can view it via the Store > View Account menu option, on your account's page you should see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it, click on that and you should then see a list of your account's purchases. On your iPad you can only view a cut-down version of your purchase history via http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If you can't find where it went then try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can help with what happened to it : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Can't buy Keynote for Mac using iTunes gift card

    Hello there fellas.
I have an iTunes account with $21,20 credit that I got from a gift card.
For a couple days now I've been trying to buy the Keynote for Mac with no sucess.
After clicking the buy option at the App Store it opens a window to check my billing info, even thou my account has no credit card information. I confirm everything without entering any credit card info and it asks me again for my password. As I enter the password it asks for the billing info again and I can't buy the app at the end.
Have this happened to anyone else? What am I doing wrong here?
    Why I can't buy a $19 app when I have $21 as credit?

this is not the first app I bought, and all the past ones didn't have any hidden fees or taxes applied after the purchase
Taxes and fees are not applied AFTER the purchase. They are included in the total price.
They are not "hidden"...  refer to the terms and conditions link I posted previously.
Pages is $19.99 at the U.S. app store.
You need to consider whatever the tax rate may be for the state you live in, add that to the $19.99.
but can not get it using my prepaid credit.
    There's not sufficent funds available.
