Can I prevent a web browser on my computer from adjusting to tablet/mobile views??

So, I would like my responsive project to only use the primary viewport when it is being displayed on a desktop computer. I don't want to use the tablet/mobile layouts unless on a tablet or phone. Ideally, like most websites, if you make the browser window small enough the horiz/vert grey scrollbars kick in and I would like this behavior when on a desktop. Right now as I decrease the size of my desktop web browser the project changes from primary to tablet to mobile.
So can I "lock" the primary viewport if on a computer?? Thanks in advance!!

The only examples i've seen need the likes of jQuery, i suggest having a look on Stackoverflow. Its a very bad idea though to restrict the user like that and i would recommend you not do it, with responsive design you need to appreciate that the user will view your content in the way that best suits them.

    how can i restore safari web browser on my mac book pro?

    Backup your system/data then start up holding down Command + R and select to reinstall your OS X. You have not mentioned which OS X you are using. If you have somehow deleted the Safari App for some reason, you need to reinstall the OS X to reinstall Safari properly. You should not lose any data, but if you do, then that is what the backup is for.

    Can you get a web browser or apps for apple tv?

    In short, not on AppleTV itself.
    The only way to use other apps/browsers is to use Airplay from an app/browser on an iPhone/iPod Tocuh/iPad.

  • How can i delete genio web browser?

    how can I delete Genio web browser from my mac pro?

    Disable the extension from any web browsers you use.
    Go to Macintosh HD -> Library -> LaunchAgents
    Delete anything that starts with com.genio
    Repeat for Macintosh HD -> Library -> LaunchDaemons
    Repeat for username -> Library -> LaunchAgents
    Repeat for username -> Library -> LaunchDaemons
    Restart.
    That should do it. Don't download any programs to uninstall it, as they're likely to be additional malware-type programs.
    BTW I think it's spelled Genieo, so check for that too.
    I knew I had seen this somewhere - more detailed instsructions here:

  • How can I connect my mobile web browser using my computer connection

    I want to know if there is a way to connect to the internet mobile browser using my computer bluetooth, Its not my mobile connecting the internet for my computer its the other way around. I want to connect the net mobile phone through the bluetooth computer bandwith.

    One day with no response and you're whining? That's pathetic.
    And, you have likely received no response because the 'internet sharing' technology you are looking to employ is not explicitly supported by Mac OS X. It is not widely understood by users, as well. Some developers, notably Mark/Space, have written routines to enable internet sharing with selected smartphones, but they do not support conventional mobile handsets.
    If you use a Palm device or a pre-Windows Mobile 5 device, you can enable this technology by installing the appropriate Missing Sync package. Internet sharing is not supported by Windows Mobile 5 or later, or by the Blackberry OS.

  • Can applet close the Web browser window it embedded in?

    I know that a link or button in the Web browser can close the browser window. But I really don't if the applet can also do it.

    This site does have a search function you know, and if thats too much trouble there is google:

    This should point you in the direction of a thing called JSObject
    Here is some code since I have this in my archive anyway:

  • E90 - How can i set the web browser not to be iden...

    Hey guys,
    Just got my E90 and loving it... Posting this from bed, yay!
    I'm wondering if it's possible for the browser on this phone to automatically identify itself as... not a phone?
    I'm on an unlimited data plan, in a city with pretty much 3.5G coverage. Yet it's a little frustrating that most sites I'm visiting get displayed in the stripped down 'mobile format'.
    A big reason for buying this phone was to have full internet access, so I'm a little disappointed on that side so far.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Unfortunately, the HTTP_USER-AGENT value that the browser sends cannot be changed. It is fixed, and web sites who use it to determine what pages to deliver, may often refuse access to "full" web pages, even if the browser could handle it.
    You can try to use another browser like Opera or Opera Mini, or you could also contact each web site's administrators and ask them to make a more (or less, as it may be) "intelligent" web site.

  • Firefox cannot be launched code: -0661. I do not have another web browser on my computer. computer is old 10.4.11 How can I get firefox up and running?

    When I turned on my computer today, Firefox had a circle with a line through it. Clicking on it I got an error message which reads "Firefox cannot be launched - 0661". I am running an old powerbook G4 OS 10.4.11. There is no other browser on my computer. I have a desktop with internet access. How can I get my laptop up and running?

    Disregard the above since Firefox 10 (or any version after Firefox 3.6) won't work on Mac OS 10.4.11. You will have to download Firefox 3.6 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html and copy it to your old powerbook G4 OS 10.4.11

  • How can I restore my itunes on a new computer from an external hard drive without a back up?

    How can I restore my itunes on a new computer?
    I use an external hard drive to store all my information i.e. music / apps / movies but my current laptop has just blown up so now using a temp laptop.
    I am looking to try & restore my itunes & all of its information like my playlists / apps & everything else from the hard drive but it does not have a back up in the programmes to restore from that.
    Currently running Windows 7.
    All I want to do is have my itunes back without the pain of looking & reloading all my info which will take me an age.
    Any hints tips or advice that has worked for you would be greatly appreciated.

    Did you store the media library files on the external drive as well?
    If so press and hold down shift as you start iTunes, use the choose option, and connect to the iTunes Library.itl file on the external drive.
    If not you will need to start a new library and import the content into it. Do you have any devices that might hold ratings and playlists that could be recovered? If so see the second and third entries from the bottom of the table of recovery tools in Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device, and read the rest of it if you have any iOS devices.

  • How can I launch a web browser from my Java application?

    I've reed about this at Question of the Week (http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/qow/archive/15/index.html). It doesn't work for me. I'm running win2000 and trying:
    try {
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("start iexplore http://java.sun.com");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println( e.getMessage() );
    I get:
    CreateProcess: start iexplore http://java.sun.com error=2
    What's wrong?

    This function will launch the default browser under Windows.
    public static void displayURL(String url) throws IOException   {

        Process p;
        try  {
            String os = System.getProperty("os.name");
