Yes you can send via email from your phone to printer. Or download the iPrint app to print over your local wireless network.
Launch Android Market on your Android phone.
    Select the Apps tab
    Search for HP iPrint Photo
    Select HP iPrint Photo
Then select the Install button. HP iPrint Photo will start downloading immediately.

  • Printing wirelessly on officejet pro 8600 plus

I have recently purchased an e printer (Officejet pro 8600 plus).  I have set it up on my laptop as well as mobile phone.  I have printed photos from my phone, emails from my phone, emails from my laptop, word documents and excel documents from my laptop.  It will only print sometimes.  I think it may have to do with the printer going to sleep.  On my mobile phone, I get a message saying ePrint job delayed  because the printer is turned OFF or not connected to Internet.  Well, it is on.  When I actually go to the room where the printer is located, if I touch the screen and press Apps, sometimes, the printer says "connection error", unable to connect to the server.  Other times when I have done this, it does make the connection.  It seems that if I wake up the printer, I can eventually get something to print.  But that defeats my purpose of the wireless capability.  Can you help?

I will need some more information in order to help out. What make and model of router do you have?  Does it ever  fail regular wireless jobs sent from the computer to the printer? Or is it just ePrint jobs that it fails/delays? Also what is the IP address for the printer?

Hi @Benking116 and welcome to the HP Forums
I'm sorry to hear you've been having issues scanning from your Officejet 8600 to your Mac running OS X 10.10 but I will absolutely do my best to help!
If you open HP Scan on the computer, are you able to scan from there without issue (please refer to this Scan from OS X With the Full Feature HP Software document to see how to open the HP Scan software)? If so, I believe you just need to Enable Scan to Computer within the HP Software. Please have a look at this Re: Scan Definition post and it will advise where to go in the HP Utility to choose Enable Scan to Computer. After that is done are you able to from the printer to the computer?
If you're UNABLE to scan via the HP Scan software, the issue could just be communication itself. In that case, please try the steps within this Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection document.

  • Printing custom sizes on HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus from Macbook Pro

I am having trouble setting up a Word Document (Word for Mac 2011) to print in a custom size on my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  I'm using a Macbook Pro running Yosemite.
I would like to print on a card stock that is 4.5 in x 13.5 in.  I have tried under Page Setup to create a custom size under Manage Custom sizes, however, I'm hitting a brick wall.  The printer gets the job but can not feed the paper.  I've also tried to set my default paper size under my System Preferences/Printers and Scanners to be this size...still not working.
    Please help!

    Hi @klinecard
It is important to ensure the paper size you are selecting is a supported size, and make sure the weight is supported too.
Printer Specifications for the HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Series Printer Series
    Please look under paper handling.
If your desired size and weight is supported, you might find the following helpful; Create Custom Paper Sizes in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X
Truthfully, since you are not getting an error message, I suspect you have correctly setup the custom size, this issue is most likely the printers inability to feed the paper you are using.

  • Printing photos from cell phone on a wireless HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

My wife sends photos to the printer from her cell phone, but not jst the photo gets printed, but also a lot of area outside of the photo gets printed in black ink - very wasteful.  How do you set up the printer or the phone so that only pictures get printed and not a lot of non-photo outside space?

Another option that you can try is using the Hp ePrint app for iPhone or the Hp Home and biz app for android devices. This may eliminate your problem.
Let me know how it goes.

  • Problem printing wirelessly with OfficeJet Pro 8600 on a Macbook Pro running OS 10.7.4

I just bought this printer. Setup when perfect, my Mac sees it and when I print, it starts fine, until... it looses contact.
I re-installed everything twice, and I even got the latest installer from HP's web site.
ePrint works fine, so I know docs make their way to the printer.
The router is a Linksys Wireless-N Broadband Router, model WRT160Nv2, with firmware v2.0.02
    Please help!!!
I even make a clip showing the problem.... http://youtu.be/Qlep8ZK8Dv0

Verify the router is on the latest firmware.  If not, upgrade it.
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 1...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
You should use WPA2-AES and reset your TV and all your other wireless devices as it will ask for a new password/paraphrase.
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • Can't scan using front panel of HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

I can't scan using front panel or laptop.  I can't find the set up disc that came with the printer that I purchased almost 2 years ago.

Hello @Pierre1 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are having issues scanning. I'd like to help!
I'd recommend starting with a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Unable to start "Printer Assistant" Officejet Pro 8600

Printer Assistant and my 8600 have worked well for over a year.  Now I can't start "Printer Assistant".  This may have been triggered by an update to Win 8.1.  Others on the Discussion Board have been told to uninstall all HP programs, reboot, and then download the "full feature" package from the HP site.
I've done all that.  Installation works fine.  Print, fax, and scan all work fine when tested.  A shortcut was installed on the desktop.  But I cannot start the "Printer Assistant" either from the desk top, the start button, or from the program file.
I used Trouble Shooter to try and find the problem.  From the trouble shooter I was able to open "HP Scan - HP Officejet Pro 8600".  From there I could initiate a successful scan.  But the only route to this page that I have found is through the Trouble Shooter.
Printer Assistant is loaded on my computer: File Ver 28.0.1315.0; 5.16MB; Date Modified 10/17/12.
    Got any ideas?

    Hi Sticks10,
Thank you for your response, I appreciate the clarification. I still think the patch is a good idea to try.
If it still does not work, try the following in this order:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Disable any antivirus programs. Turn Windows Defender on or off. (This will work in Windows 8.1).
Disable any firewalls. Turn Windows Firewall on or off. (This will work in Windows 8.1).
Create a new user account. Create a user account.
Re-install the software using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
Hope this works for you, and have a great day!

  • Does the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 support e-print? I am running on Win 7 Pro 64 bit

Can you please tell me: does the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 support e-print?  I cannot seem to find or generate or figure out how to create an e-mail address for this printer.  Thank you.
    This question was solved.

    Hello BoPeepLamb,
The OfficeJet 8600 Printer does support ePrint. You can access the printers email address by enabling Web Services from the main display on the printer. The icon is located on the top left corner of the screen and looks like piece of paper with circles behind it. Before you can enable Web Services you must make sure you have a valid internet connection first.
Once you have enabled Web Services, you should have a mobile printing sheet print with a printer code and link to http://www.eprintcenter.com where you can create an account and customize your printers email address.
If you have any other questions feel free to reply to this post and I will try to find an answer for you.

  • Should I  be able to use a Lexmark Pro 205 wireless printer from my iPad 1?  My iPad can't find the printer.  Iveinstalled the Lexprint app on iPad and downloaded the Lexmark Listener on desktop computer. Still can't print from iPad.

Should I be able to use a Lexmark Pro 205 wireless 3 in 1 printer with iPad 1?  I have installed the LexPrint app on iPad, downloaded the Lexmark Listener on desktop computer but still can't print from iPad. My iPad cannot find the printer.  But I can print from desktop without USB cable. I upgraded the system on my iPad sometime ago.  Suggestions??

Here is the list of AirPrint printers, and you particular printer is not on it.  So that means you will need to use the Lexmark app, and print through your computer.
There is a Lexmark guy that hangs around these forums who may chime in with a response as well.

  • How can I print from ipad to non wireless printer?

How can I print from ipad to non wireless printer.
....been trying to save document to pc to print.... but cant find a way to do so.....?

Actually you can print to a non wireless printer if you have apps on the iPad and your computer that will do this and as long as you can set up a WiFi network or the iPad and the computer are already on the same network.
I Am running an old OSX version on my iMac at work (Tiger OSX 10.4.11) and I have an app on my iPad called Save2 pdf. I downloaded a helper app on the Mac called WePrint. I do not have WiFi at work, but I create a WiFi network using the Ethernet connection to the Mac that my iPad can also join. As long as I can send the file/text/document to the Save2pdf app, I can print it on my old HP LaserWriter1012 which is not a wireless printer. This uses the Mac as the print server and the WePrint app on the Mac sends the doecument to the printer.
It's not a very elegant solution, and it is a little convoluted, but it does work.
