Can i reuse my WD Java applications developed in NW7.0 in CE 7.1

Dear SDNs,
I have developed a MDM related Workflow applications using WebDynpro Java in NetWeaver 7.0 version and now we are switching to NetWeaver CE 7.1 version. in that case how can i reuse my WD applications in NW7.0. will the direct redeployement work in CE 7.1 server?
Please confirm me.

Java application development on Mac OSX

Does anyone do Java application development on a Mac? I know that Mac has their own version of Java and I was wondering if there were any difficulties of Java development on a Mac. I'm considering a switch from Windows to Mac and want to evaluate how it will impact my Java development. I currently use Eclipse 3.2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of Java development on a Mac?

I'm no Java3d expert but i'm quite sure java is slow on macs, as the java for mac technology is quite bad. Even 2d games with few sprites go slowly on my mac, it's a shame. However this might change as Apple is working quite hard on getting java to work properly, ( mainly because if java becomes popular the macs will lose their incompatibility problem! )

How can I create a scheduled java application/task?

Being a complete newbie to the Java language, I hope I am forgiven if the above is blindingly obvious.
I have a java application which I have developed that when run from the command prompt (java xyz) selects a bunch of records from my database, then creates a text file with the results. Pretty simple stuff.
My question is, how can I automate this process? I would like it to run every night at midnight. Will I have to create a batch file? If so, how? Help!!
Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Scheduling a task is a very Operating System dependent operation. It does not exist in some OS's without some kind of addin. Things of this sort are usually not done exclusively in Java, unless you want to have your application running all the time and simply perform some operation at a specific time (see Timer). Otherwise look on google.com for 'scheduler' and 'windows 98' for example.

Can we call a simple java application from ESB

Please let me know how this can be done by using a ESB. The application jar exists on the host server. How we can pass parameters etc and receive results from this application.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if I completely understand your question, but you can certainly try following ways:
- call your java application via WSIF. ESB with JAVA wsif is available in 10.1.3.3.1 only (it is not supported in 10.1.3.3 very well).
- you will have to include this jar file in server.xml or bpel/system/classes so that it is available to the SOA jvm.
- You mentioned it is simple java application, but if your java API has complex (object) input and output, you will need some work

with a cheapo installer so you didn't have to pay

ok, this's not a bug.
I'm install eioffice(Yongzhong office, a chinese office software) and test it, and i have to set AWT_TOOLKIT=MToolkit (Running eio with compiz).
That's the problem.
unset AWT_TOOLKIT
no errors.

MySQL has VERY thorough documentation. In addition to being online, it will also be packaged with your download. Go to http://www.mysql.com/doc/en/Installing.html for detailed instructions on how to install MySQL on your platform.
You'll also want the latest JDBC Driver. Go to http://www.mysql.com/downloads/api-jdbc-stable.html and download the appropriate file for your platform.

IE11 compatibility of application developed using webdynpro java in NWDS7.01.12

I have a webdynpro java application developed using NWDS 7.01.12 with jdk1.4. This portal application is not working when accessed using IE11 browser. The action on buttons and selection from a drop down list in this application is not responding in IE11. Its working well with mozila fire fox vrs 31. On click of action the following error is encountered:

Similar issues are also pointed to popup_ie6.js files at "window.attachEvent("onload",sapPopup_init)" and
"window.document.attachEvent("onmousemove",resetMouseOver)".

Java application problem in my 6021

Dear.
I read from user guide for 6021, that this mobile is enabled with java technologyu. but when i try to get Java application from bluetooth, it says as invalid file format. what is the remedy for this issue? shall i update my mobile software?
When am trying to download directly from my bank websie, it says as File is too large. But it is just 151kb, also i have enough memory.
Please refer the jar file in attachment in .txt extension.

Try using latest version of PCSuites for your phone, and install java application that is specifically compatible to your phone model by this. Java applications developed for a particular model, will not work correctly or not at all. There's misconception about java appl(portability), yes it can be easily ported to another device, but have to be recompiled because of hardware differences like displays size, max resolution etc.

If you have developed the PAR file in NWDS then you can deploy the PAR in the server with NWDS ( [Check Required Settings |NWDS 7.0 does not deploy PAR;) or in server directly (system administrator > support >> portal runtime >> administration console)

APEX application integration into Java application

Hello,
I'm working on a new APEX application and I would like to integrate that application into an existing Java application.
The integration should be invisible for the end-users. Our application will have the same look and feel as the Java application.
The existing menu of the Java app will be extended with a new link. This link will then call our application.
Visually I was thinking about using an Iframe to display the content of the APEX application inside the Java generated xHTML.
This is however not the biggest issue.
We are working in a secure context and we thus need to make sure that our APEX application doesn't create a backdoor on the
security mechanism provided by the Java app.
Some options have come to mind, but the one that look best is this:
We keep the java application as the single point of entry for our end-users and make sure that the apex application is "hidden".
We could do this by means of some re-routing code in the java application so that the incomming requests there are send to the correct server (java or apex).
Then we will need to capture the response of the APEX application and place it inside the Java generated xHTML. The combined content is then send to the client.
Or we could place a reverse proxy server that does this for us.
The goal is thus that we can rely on the existing java application to cover the security and the navigation structure.
Any ideas on this ?
