Can I use jsp in jspx file
is it possible to write HTML and JSP in the JSPX file, I know some tricks using jsp and I don't have any idea how to implement them in jspx files
you can use jsp:include tag.. or <af:declarativcomponent> tag.. with viewId
<af:declarativeComponent id="dc0" viewId="/includes/myIncludeFragment.jsff" />

How can WLS use JSP pages in a Web Application (either a .war file or a war directory structure) without a java compiler?
I suspect either the JSP specification is flawed (i.e. it doesn't take account of servers using just a JRE), or BEA's implementation is broken.
Production servers do not have a JDK installed. They only have a JRE. Therfore a java compiler is not present on the machine that the Web Application is deployed onto.
On the development machine, when the server is requested to load the JSP it creates a tmpwar directory within the Web Application directory structure. This is then included in the resultant .war file thus:
D:\war>jar -tf gmi.war
META-INF/
META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
gmiService.jsp
WEB-INF/
WEB-INF/classes/
WEB-INF/classes/com/
WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/
WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/
WEB-INF/classes/com/bt/gmi/gmiService.class
WEB-INF/getList.xsl
WEB-INF/getListByConnection.xsl
WEB-INF/getListByDistrict.xsl
WEB-INF/getListByDistrictConnection.xsl
WEB-INF/lib/
WEB-INF/source/
WEB-INF/source/build.bat
WEB-INF/source/gmiService.java
WEB-INF/web.xml
WEB-INF/weblogic.xml
tmpwar/
tmpwar/jsp_servlet/
tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.class
tmpwar/jsp_servlet/_gmiservice.java
When deployed on the production server with the web.xml file set to use the following values (note XML stripped):
weblogic.jsp.pageCheckSeconds
-1
weblogic.jsp.precompile
false
weblogic.jsp.compileCommand
javac
weblogic.jsp.verbose
true
weblogic.jsp.packagePrefix
jsp_servlet
weblogic.jsp.keepgenerated
false
And in the weblogic.properties file:
weblogic.httpd.webApp.gmi=war/gmi
I've also tried with the .war file, but that insists on creating another tmpwar directory outside of the .war file.
Then, although I have set pageCheckSeconds to -1 (don't check and don't recompile) ter production server still attempts to recompile the JSP's:

The default Java compiler from sun lives in the tools.jar that comes with
the JDK. Just add that to your set of JARs which are deployed in production
and you should be fine. No need to install the full JDK - just make the
tools.jar available to WebLogic.

How can I use an old XMP file on a new set of images??
I have an older XMP file that contains settings used to retouch some previous images in a particular way. I'd like to apply those same settings to a new set of images. How can I use that older XMP file on a new set of images in Lightroom?
The contents of the XMP file are as follows:

</x:xmpmeta>I’m pretty sure Adobe NEVER intended for someone to copy an XMP file from one photo to another outside of LR as a way to replicate settings. You can make a preset from a photo, as discussed, or if you don’t want to do that, copy-paste the settings from a representative photo that you initially select to one or more new photos. You could have a special LR folder that holds standard photos to copy/paste from. Of course creating a Develop preset from the representative photo is the “normal” way to handle such situations, but maybe you have hundreds of different situations to copy settings from and don’t want to create presets for each one, but I’d argue that you could create a complex folder hierarchy for your presets and still have them findable without that much problem.
As far as the mystery about why some photos show Reset and some show From Metadata, is the Process Version (down in Camera Calibration) of the photo before reading the settings the same between the two situations? And in general, are these virgin photos newly imported into LR or have some been modified in LR, already? Does an XMP file already exist for any of these, where that XMP is being overwritten by your external-to-LR copying? Or do you have auto-write-XMP enabled and your hand-copied XMP is getting overwritten by LR, automatically, before you have a chance to read in anything? -
I want to transfer files from a functioning hard drive in a nonfunctioning MacBook Pro to an external drive. I have an IDE/SATA drive adapter. The files won't fit on the drive for a working computer I have. Can I use it to transfer files to the external drive?
Good luck and you are welcome.
Like I said, I bought one of their inexpensive enclosures and now can use the hard drive just as a source for the files that are on it...my external drives are much larger and faster so I just plug that drive in when I need something from it.
This one is on sale for $16 http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/ES2.5BPU2S/ -
To test how can we use the opt 'logical file name' to name the file based
Hi Sir/Madam,
to test how can we use the opt 'logical file name' to name the file based on the selection made in the dtp run for extracting data as flat file.Hi Vishali,
In the DTP select the file location as application server and give the logical file path. The actual file and logical path can be created using transaction "FILE" and "AL11".
Rest of the process is same as that of extraction from local file.

Durgesh. -

Can I use my own sound files as contact ringtones?
yes - you can use GarageBand for this.
Open GarageBand
Create a new project
Insert the song file from iTunes. (Go into the Finder, select ~/User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Library and find the song you want.)
Drag that song into Garageband.
in Garageband - click the Share menu, and Send Ringtone to iTunes.
You will then have to select which 40 second portion of the song you want. It will create it, and send it to iTunes automatically.
In iTunes
Select Preferences. Click on the General tab, and make sure that Ringtones has a checkmark beside it so that you see it in the list on iTunes.
When you hook up your iPhone, you will be able to select the ringtone(s) you want to sync. -

How can I use JAVA to copya file from a location to another location?
Hello all,
I am planning to design a web page (let say an HTML has a form that post fields to a jsp page) that allow me to select a file and then copy it to another location like what we see in email attachement.
Is the any related java class that i can use for this matter or ready JavaBean?
Thanks in advance
YahyajspSmartUpload
look for package named com.jspsmart.upload.
Very easy to use to pull a file from a person's pc up to where the form is posted to. You will need to setup your form to type to be multi-part form. Use an input type of file to generate the file browse button. -
Can I use JSP as a Controller in MVC
Hi,
I'm new to MVC architecture, here I am using the servlet as a controller in my project. I have a doubt about that, Can I use the jsp file to act as a controller. It is feasible, if it is not what is the reason to avoid that.
Thanks in Advance..
bye,
Muralidharan.KYou can use JSPs to handle the controller and view of the MVC and then use standard javabeans to represent the model. Simply use a JSP as the controller and have it populate a set of javabeans (the model) with the appropriate values and then let another set of JSPs use these values to render the view back to the client.
It is just as feasable to continue to use the servlet as the controller if that suits your needs. Use JSPs as the view and a set of javabeans as the model. -
Hi
I was assigned a task in which a file has to be downloaded from a server. Right now, the code was already there which is written using applet. That is file is downloaded to local directory then it will get opened. Why cant I code in the following way.
1. Reading the file from the server and writing it to a local directory.
2. Opening the file from that directory using Desktop.getDesktop().open(file)
Since I am a newbie to java i could not understand the difference between these two things.
can anyone please explain me so that i can proceed with the right way.
Thanks in Advance.Dinesh wrote:

So what do you want to code differently? And WHERE do you want to run this code? There must be a reason why it is right now an applet. Are you talking about a web environment like servlets/JSPs? -

I have some interfaces where I need to pick the file from a directory. The name of the file will have Data<i>time stamp</i> as the naming convention. Can I use *.xml to pick up my files from this directory?
The help.sap.com documentation says that we can use this naming convention.
<b>
● File Name
Specify the name of the file that you want to process. The name can contain placeholders (*, ? (placeholders for exactly one character)) so that you can select a list of files for processing.
</b>
I tried using *.xml for my file name in the communication channel, XI is not picking up this file.
Please let me know if you have the solution.
Thanks
KalyanMurthy,
Thanks for the reply.
I am using GuildFTP tool as my FTP server. In this tool, all the permissions were given for the file to pick up.
The status of the file is good.
Where in the file adapter configuration I have to select 'Read-only'?
The file adapter is working perfect with the exact name of the file.
Thanks
Kalyan
