No you can not use it.  Your mac uses DDR3 1066, not 1333.  You need this type of ram:

What's the year and model number? If you go under Apple menu->About This Mac->More Info->System Report, you can find the model number - something like "MacBookPro8,3".

    Mike,
That's your opinion, but it is pretty much contrary to any research that's been done. And, there are different reasons for RAM to be cheap. One is not having a manufacturer's lifetime warranty. I never recommend buying RAM that is called economy RAM if it does not come with a manufacturer's lifetime warranty. I never recommend buying RAM from a vendor whose return policies may be questionable or unfavorable. I also never recommend that people only chase after bargain basement priced RAM.
If you read any of my other posts along this line you will know I always recommend OWC and DataMem.
EDIT: FWIW, I've read many complaints about RAM not working that was bought from Crucial.

  • Can I use this ram for my MacBook?

    I want this ram,
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231154
but I was wondering if my computer can support it.
    Here are my current Specs:
    Hardware Overview:
    Model Name: MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBook4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.1 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
    L2 Cache: 3 MB
    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 800 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MB41.00C1.B00
    SMC Version (system): 1.31f0
    Serial Number (system): W8839*5HS
    Hardware UUID: 8C8AC0B2-FA96-5B70-A207-53D62FFC2AD2
    Sudden Motion Sensor:
    State: Enabled

    From your manual:
*Your computer has two memory slots that you access by removing the computer’s*
*battery. Your MacBook comes with a minimum of 1 gigabyte (GB) of 667 MHz Double*
*Data Rate (DDR2) Synchronous Dynamic Random-Access Memory (SDRAM) installed.*
*Both memory slots can accept an SDRAM module that meets the following*
    specifications:
*- Double Data Rate Small Outline Dual Inline Memory Module (DDR2 SO-DIMM) format*
    *- 1.25 inch or smaller*
    *- 512 MB, 1 GB, or 2 GB*
    *- 200-pin*
    *- PC2-5300 DDR2 667 MHz Type RAM*
*For best performance, fill both memory slots and install an identical memory module in*
    *each slot.*
Whether or not the memory that you provided a link for will work is between you and the supplier. I usually deal with macsales.com where they test the memory for Mac models and guarantee them to work.

  • Can i use older ram on a newer macbook pro

    I have a MACBOOK PRO 15' LATE 2011 2.2 GHz intel core i7 4gb 1333 MHz DDR3 can I use an 8gb 1066 MHz DDR3 on it???
    please need help??
    Thank you

It may work, but the performance won't be the same and it's risky. If you have checked that everything except the RAM speed meets the requirements of your Mac, that memory should work, but your Mac will use 1066 MHz instead of 1333 MHz.
I recommend you to buy new 1333 MHz memory to guarantee the compatibility and save headaches in the future if the 1066 MHz memory doesn't work

  • You can't use this mobile for Nokia Music Unlimite...

I have just purchased a Nokia 5130 XpressMusic mobile phone which came with music.  I have previously had a similar phone which came with music which for the last year I have been using.  That unlimited downloads has now expired.
So I have plugged in my new phone, which I have not used to purcahse any music with through my old unlimited downloads, and it is saying:
You can't use this mobile for Nokia Music Unlimited edition mobile.
Can someone please tell me why not?  The phone is capable of playing music (it is an XpressMusic mobile).  I have specifically gone and purchased this phone for the unlimited downloads and will not be very happy if I am unable to activate it.
    Many thanks,
    Tania

    Hi Tania,
Like @petrib mentioned you should be able find local Nokia Care details behind that Contact us -link up right in this page (or if you tell which country you are in I can check the details for you).
You could also update to latest Nokia Music Player which has just become available e.g. here http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/nokia-music-support and see if activation would work with that.

  • Why can't I use my mid 2010 macbook pro with 8GB memoir and NVIDIA GEForce GT 330M 256MB to run 3D in photoshop CC?

Why can't I use my mid 2010 macbook pro with 8GB memoir and NVIDIA GEForce GT 330M 256MB to run 3D in photoshop CC?

    3-D is very memory intensive.
    System requirements | Photoshop
    Mac OS
Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
    Mac OS X v10.7, v10.8, or v10.9
2 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended)
3.2 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on removable flash storage devices)
1024x768 display (1280x800 recommended) with 16-bit color and 512 MB of VRAM (1 GB recommended)**
    OpenGL 2.0–capable system
Internet connection and registration are necessary for required software activation, membership validation, and access to online services.*
** 3D features are disabled and some Mercury Graphics Engine enhanced features may not work with less than 512 MB VRAM. Read the Help article.
Bottom line, you don't have enough VRAM

  • You can't use this version of the application "logic pro" with this version of os x

After installing all of Logic Studio (i.e. install dvd, audio content 1-3, jam packs 1-3), my laptop concludes that everything is installed successfully, however, when going to open to Logic, error icon appears and says:
'you can't use this version of the application "logic pro" with this version of os x'

Thank you! I found that just after I entered the question. I reinstalled everything two times, updated software, but was still having issues. But, I specifically updated the 9.1.8 (which was supposedly included in my standard software update). Guess I needed to give it some extra attention and affection.
P.S. - Why do I feel like the more I upgrade versions of OS X, the worse off I am getting or am? Isn't it supposed to be opposite...isn't it supposed to make things better...come on, mac...where you at? mt. lion or mavericks. I'm downloading Snow Leopard to make some programs run. (um, yeah).

Can I use Dell AOI 922 printer with MacBook Pro?

    Cisco:
Very helpful!   My set up was Mac/ Lion trying to Print off a Dell Photo A10 922
Lion does not store any Lexmark, nor dow Apple, but I went to the lexmark site, and found this-
    http://support.lexmark.com/index?productCode=LEXMARK_X5270&page=product&locale=E N&userlocale=EN_US#1
Downloaded that, then hooked up the printer, Cmd-P, and the Mac found the drivers I had loaded.
Works fine.  Now when I go to my sisters, I can print!
byw, I'm probably just a Level 2  "GIYF"er, but your the only one ( of MANY folks) who thought to search Lexmart. I've seen posts by MANY geeks saying a Mac could not print to ANY Dell printer.
    Nice job,

  • Can I use an USB disc with my macbook pro bought in 2005.  What capacity will it take 2.00 or 3.00?

can I use an USB disc with my macbook pro bought in 2005.  What capacity will it take 2.00 or 3.00?

The first MacBook Pro's were not released until the beginning of 2006, and they had USB 2 ports.
Anything available new in 2005 would have been a PowerBook G4 and they also had USB 2 ports.
A USB 3 disk will just transfer data slower then it could do, if you plug it into a USB 2 port though, so you can buy either.

I don't see a way of using FT just for audio.  There is no way of turning the video streaming feature to off.  If you disable the camera, facetime won't work at all.
