Can include sort tags by calling subtemplate?

I have some sort tags which will be used in multiple reports, so I want to have them in a subtemplate and call them from each main template. When I do this I get:
XML-22047: (Error) Invalid instantiation of 'xsl:sort' in 'xsl:template' context.
If I put the sort tags directly in the main template, everything is fine. So is there a correct way to include sorts from a subtemplate?
Thanks,
Kurz

Tim,
Thanks for the response.
I actually followed that page to learn out to do sorting based on parameters :-)
I am creating the template parameters via a subtemplate then calling that from the main template, and that works fine. I can refer to $sort1, $sort2, $sort3 in the main template. It is just trying to include the sort tags that fails.
I don't think there is anything wrong with my subtemplate call since I am calling several other templates from the same file and all of those are working.
Is there something specific you wanted to see from the templates?

    You can change the coding of Table Maintenance.
    >> Goto SM30, give table name and goto Display/Maintain mode and copy all the GUI status from standard program into your function group. Add sort button in the GUI Status of Maintain & Display mode.
    >> Goto to tablemaintenance screen generated using SE51.
    >> Select change mode.
    >> After PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT, create one module to assign your function group program name to " X_HEADER-GUI_PROG = "
    >> In PROCESS AFTER INPUT, add another module at the end to perform the action.

  • Is it possible to sort tags?

    I've tried various methods of sorting tags. None of them really represents the conventional output one would consider "sorting". I've had to, for example, prefix categories of tags in order to get some semblance of order. Lately not even this works very well after going through various updates to Firefox.
    Further, there doesn't seem to be anything on the Mozilla website for Firefox that addresses this question. Perhaps my library of Bookmarks is more extensive than most, and those who program the interface have never seen a need to provide this capability to sort tags. In my case, since I've used tags to introduce order and fast access to information, tags have become indispensable to that end.
    Maybe the reason this capability is missing is because it is not technically feasible. I would like to know whether or not it is so I don't continue to search for a solution.

    Hi jscher2000,
    The reason I haven’t tried your method is that I have no idea where you enter the “query”. You did not explain that:
    • type=6 means tag query
    • sort=14 means descending order by last modified date
    • maxResults=10 means only show the first 10 results
    So where am I supposed to put the above? I did view the SQLite Manager extension description. I’m quite busy now and don’t have the time to get involved with another interface to sort Tags within Firefox. I’m also reticent to start adding Extensions to overcome Firefox inadequacies.
    There are some Add-ons which are quite helpful, like the “Go Parent Folder” and “Show Parent Folder”. I use these extensively to keep my Bookmarks in order and to find particular ones that would be very difficult to find otherwise in order to redefine the links associated with Tags. But these routines are simple downloads that don’t require anything beyond simply downloading the Add-on.
    The technique I described requires no Extension to be added, and appears to be less of a drag on my schedule than going through the learning curve of using SQLite. I did notice that the description of the SQLite extension has gone through various revisions, so I’m not sure how that might have impacted previous Tag sorting per the lines of code you provided above. When I began using LISP (actually AutoLISP) there was a great deal of payback for the effort put forth to get the desired results. There were also additions, deletions and redefined ways of doing things which meant past efforts had to be revised or were no longer workable. And with time these AutoLISP shortcuts (macros) actually became part of the main program.
    This takes me back to my original comment about why the Firefox interface did not provide this sorting capability in the first place. If SQLite can do this effectively and easily, then why isn’t the sorting capability included with the Firefox browser download?
    Your description of the process appears to be somewhat involved, more so than my technique of ordering Tags by modifying them through the Properties window to obtain the desired Sort, which is cumbersome but effective. This could be referred to as the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep It Simple Stupid), the last part of which I freely admit.
    Thanks, though, for providing an alternative way to sort Tags.

  • Include jsp tags

    I am having a problem relacing the include file of let's call it a
    header.jsp in a menu page named menu.jsp.
    So in my header.jsp file let's say I do something simple like
    <table>
    <tr><td><jato:href name="first">First Option
    </jato:href></td></tr></table>
    and so on....
    And in my main.jsp I have a simple include at the top of my page
    like so
    <html
    <body>
    <%include file=header.jsp%>
    etc.
    Now when JRun 3.0 makes the include replacement, it seems to have a
    problem where it tells me
    Servlet error 500
    com.iplanet.jato.view href : taglib navigation not found
    BUT when I take out the jato tags in the include file...I can get
    JRun to make the replacement perfectly....
    Does anyone else have this problem and if so how did you get around
    it?

    Sorry to bother you again, but I couldn't find anything that looked strange
    is this file. Can you send us the original file at our personal email
    addresses? I'd like to see exactly where the compilation error occurs and
    it's not possible with the file inlined here.

    Craig & Eric--
    (If you're not interested in the resolution to the problem Craigposted,
    please skip ahead to the section in which I describe the
    preferred
    technique
    for including headers and other common content in a JATO page.
    This
    discussion is very important because I introduce the concept of"view
    compostion", in which JATO pages are composed of modular andreusable view
    components. This is one of the most powerful new features of
    JATO,
    and a
    capability that simply wasn't possible in NetDynamics.)
    Posted Problem Resolution
    Craig & Eric, from what I can tell, you are both trying to
    include
    a full
    view bean in a parent page at translation time. This is notpossible, as
    you can see from the compiler errors you get. There are
    collisions
    when
    multiple top-level tags are included in the same JSP.
    When I said earlier that you needed to use a translation-timeinclude
    instead of a run-time include, I was assuming that you were
    trying
    to
    include a fragment of HTML/JSP in the parent page. By
    fragment, I
    mean HTML
    or JSP content that does not declare a view bean or form, but
    rather
    references views contained within the parent view bean. If youwant to
    include a full page (JSP + ViewBean) in another page, then you'dneed to use
    a run-time include. A run-time include temporarily pauses therendering of
    the current page, and sends the full request to the included
    page
    as if it
    were a separate client request. The resulting content from theincluded
    page is inlined into the parent page's content, and processing
    of
    the parent
    page then continues.
    Now I realize after thinking about it a bit that we may not have
    sufficiently provided for full page includes because of some
    late-
    breaking
    changes in the request context handling. After some basic
    testing,
    it
    appears that if you try to include one JATO page in another byreferencing
    the JSP, the included page will cause a class cast exception tooccur.
    There may also be problems because the request context on theincluded page
    will not have been set. In any case, full JATO page inclusionlooks like
    it's an issue we're going to have to address with some fixes
    before
    it will
    work properly. My apologies. (One workaround if this is
    necessary
    is to
    make the included view bean a child view of the parent view
    bean.
    I won't
    go into that however).
    How to Include Common Content
    Now, on to the discussion of the preferred way of including
    common
    content
    in a JATO page. Let's say you have a common header you want toinclude in
    one or more of your JATO pages. Because of the issue I notedabove, and the
    fact that the header is not really independently displayable,
    you
    don't want
    to do a run-time include (which, remember, would necessitateincluding a
    full JATO page).
    Instead, you should include the header as an HTML/JSP fragmentusing a
    translation-time include. Depending on whether your header hasdynamic
    information, you can do one of two things. If the header is
    just
    static
    content and/or set of links, you can just reference the HTMLfragment in the
    parent HTML directly, and you won't need any kind of view or
    view
    bean to
    back it, or any reference to anything in JATO.
    If you need some dynamic info in the header, like the module URLfor a link,
    you can reference the parent page's view bean for this
    information
    by simply
    including references to the parent page's implicit JSP variables(viewBean,
    currentVIew, and currentTiledView). For example:
    Parent JSP:
    <jsp:useBean id="viewBean" class="..."scope="request"></jsp:useBean>
    <jato:useViewBean className="..." fireChildDisplayEvents="true">
    <%@ include file="MyInclude.jsp" %>
    </jato:useViewBean>
    Included content (MyInclude.jsp):
    ... viewBean.getRequestContext().getModuleURL() ...
    The final HTML with the included content would then look like
    this:
    <jsp:useBean id="viewBean" class="..."scope="request"></jsp:useBean>
    <jato:useViewBean className="..." fireChildDisplayEvents="true">
    ... viewBean.getRequestContext().getModuleURL() ...
    </jato:useViewBean>
    MyInclude.jsp will be inlined in the parent JSP before it istranslated to a
    servlet. Note that it does not include the full HTML tags
    normally
    found in
    an HTML file--there are no <html>, <head>, or <body> tags
    because
    it is not
    expected to be used outside of an include page. In effect,
    this is
    the
    equivalent of a server-side include (SSI).
    Now, if you need truly dynamic info in the header, like say youwant to
    display the user's name and SSN, then you'd likely want to
    embed a
    child
    view in the parent view bean which will encapsulate & provide
    the
    necessary
    information. This is in contrast to actually making these
    fields
    direct
    children of the the parent view bean, which would be a tedious
    and
    error
    prone task on every page you wanted to include this information.Let me try
    to contrast these two approaches with a diagram of parent-child
    relationships:
    Here's the bad way:
    ParentViewBean (ViewBean)
    |
    +-- UserFirstName (StaticTextField)
    |
    +-- UserSSN (StaticTextField)
    In this situation, you'd need to provide the logic to populatethese fields
    in every view bean on which they appeared. This is tedious andessentially
    eliminates the "common"-ness of the content (this is also whatNetDynamics
    forced people to do).
    Now, the better way:
    ParentViewBean (ViewBean)
    |
    +-- MyHeaderView (MyHeaderView.java)
    |
    +-- UserFirstName (StaticTextField)
    |
    +-- UserSSN (StaticTextField)
    In the better way, you can see that the header information isencapsulated
    in an instance of "MyHeaderView", which is a subclass ofContainerViewBase
    or one of the other ContainerView subtypes. The population of
    the
    data
    fields is encapsulated in that view, and the parent view need
    not
    know
    anything about what's actually being displayed by that view.
    Thus, you can see that MyHeaderView, in conjunction with a
    snippet
    of JSP
    content in a companion file, is completely modular and can beembedded in
    any parent view bean on which you want the header to appear.
    The
    only
    requirement is then to include MyHeaderView as a child view of
    the
    parent
    view bean, and to include the correct JSP content that
    references
    that child
    view.
    The included JSP content would now look something like this:
    <jato:view name="MyHeaderView">
    <table>
    <tr><td>... <jato:staticText name="UserFirstName"/>
    ...</td></tr>
    <tr><td>... <jato:staticText name="UserSSN"/> ...</td></tr>
    </table>
    </jato:view>
    If we now included this content in the parent JSP from furtherabove, we get
    the following as the JSP content before it is translated into aservlet:
    <jsp:useBean id="viewBean" class="..."scope="request"></jsp:useBean>
    <jato:useViewBean className="..." fireChildDisplayEvents="true">
    <jato:view name="MyHeaderView">
    <table>
    <tr><td>... <jato:staticText name="UserFirstName"/>
    ...</td></tr>
    <tr><td>... <jato:staticText name="UserSSN"/> ...</td></tr>
    </table>
    </jato:view>
    </jato:useViewBean>
    Ultimately, this technique is called "view compostion" or "view
    aggregation", and is one of the major new features of JATO. Youcan now
    define reusable view components and embed them in multiple viewcontainers,
    on the same page or on different pages. Each page acts as a
    frame,
    in which
    you provide the contents from modular components. Using thistechnique, you
    can develop reusable view classes and chunks of JSP that can bearbitrarily
    combined into complex pages.
    I know this is a long and rambling discussion, but I hope I've
    made
    myself
    at least partly clear. I'm more than happy to clarify anything
    or
    elaborate
    more. Please let me know.

  • How can I sort my photos within albums on the iPad? Apple software *****!

    The primary reason I got an iPad was to use it as a portfolio of my photography. How is it possible that with Apple software you can't easily sort photos in a custom order within albums?!? I've heard there is a way to use Dropbox to work around (ignore) Apple software. Any help? If Apple engineers are reading this, can you please address this? And can we not use something called iTunes to work with pictures? No sense here.

    It's a lot easier with Photo Manager Pro.

    You won't see the numbers if the call came in as restricted...that's the point of a caller blocking their number.
    You can pay for a service like TrapCall that will give you the restricted numbers.  Or you can use a service (free) like DitchMail that gives callers a recording asking them to unblock their number and call back, if the call comes in with the number blocked.  It then hangs up without giving them the opportunity to leave a message.

  • URGENT: Please Help....Can't make or receive calls on Z10

    Hi,
    I bought a Z10 about a month ago. Updated it as soon as the 10.2 was available officially and it has been running perfectly. Tonight, however, I was on a call and suddenly the audio went away. I tried disconnecting from the call but it wasn't disconnecting despite several attempts until I gave up and pressed the power button to re-boot. Since I have rebooted, I can't make or recieve calls. Everytime I try to dial a number it immediately shows call ended. I also can't recieve any calls. I have full network, and can do everything else including surf the web, sent texts and BBMs. What seems to be the problem?? Please help as it is kinda urgent
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Well wait and see till after you backup and do the battery pull. I guess you are backing up with Link and you know how to Restore so the below is a pre written file just in case and if you click one of those links you can scroll to the bottom of the page and change the country.
    You can restore your phone to factory settings if you wish to see if it corrects your issue. Resetting to factory settings will wipe out all your data so you should save it first. To save all your stuff download and install BlackBerry Link on your computer from the link below. Resetting will not back-up the OS on your phone. Once you have downloaded and installed BlackBerry Link connect your phone to your computer and save your stuff. Once saved disconnect your phone from the computer.
    To reset your phone: tap the Settings App, scroll down and tap Security and Privacy, tap Security Wipe, tap the blank box and enter blackberry.
    Once Wiped reconnect your phone to your computer and install your stuff.

  • RE: Is it possible to sort tags?

    This is a continuation of the Support Forum question titled: “Is it possible to sort tags?” located at:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/963133?esab=a&as=s&r=2&page=1
    If this new topic has to be posed as a new question the following applies.
    If you visit the above link you will learn how convoluted were the solutions provided to non-programmers.
    I CERTAINLY EXPECTED THAT BY NOW there would have been an effort to address the Tag sorting issue, since there have been a number of upgrades since this question was first posted. Tag sorting provides a much more robust browser many more would choose to use. It would also attract more users concerned about the control on our liberties if supplied with a browser that truly has more powerful capabilities to garner and access information.
    One of the points the Firefox Team uses to attract more to use it is the protection it gives from snoops. You’ve got to ask yourself how much protection that might be if developers can’t do something simple (for talented programmers) like provide tag sorting. That comment is from, basically, a non-programmer, so I have no idea how much code would have to be written to bring this about. I suspect they don’t either and possibly fear the effort might turn out to be much greater than it really is.
    It’s been a LONG time since I used Internet Explorer by Microsoft. What brought me to Firefox was their mission statement to provide access free of its own brand of commercialism and free usage of the Internet, which also implied an effort to protect privacy. For the same reasoning I would not use Google, after reports of their cooperation with government heads in China. Reports have also surfaced that Microsoft has provided a back-door to the NSA for their Internet Search engine, all of this in total disregard to the US Constitution’s 4th Amendment requiring a warrant from a court to prevent unreasonable searches and seizures. I would, however, wish that Firefox would OPENLY adhere to the Bill of Rights in their Privacy Policy, which is not stated in so many words. Many would say, “I don’t have anything to hide, so I don’t care.” Apparently they are unaware how dirty politics and politicians can be. This is the reason why a viable alternative, such as Firefox, is so important.
    If you wish to learn more about just one individual who has dedicated his life in service to this country in terms of providing liberty to the widest possible number along with a promise to use the wealth he has built throughout his life (except for the necessity of living in exile), visit the following:
    http://wantarevelations.com/wanta-black-swan-white-hat/
    This is just one of the links that would be a lot easier to access, were it possible to sort Tags.
    Is this off-topic? Not really.

    HI MozillaFirefoxNewbie,
    Thank you for your question, even though this is not off topic, the points made would have a better audience in a feature proposal in Bugzilla. Please check out the features and description here:
    [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Firefox&component=Bookmarks%20%26%20History]
    As mentioned in the previously posted thread, there was a work around provided by [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/963133#answer-462676 jscher] that sounded functional.
    However if there is no extension desired, I encourage to proved the steps and objective of the feature.
    If you open up the Bookmark Library however and click the drop down of 'Tags', they are in alphabetical order.
    Have you tried this built into Firefox?
    Cheers

  • Can we sort one field based on other field in messsage mapping !!

    Hi Folks,
    I have got source xml with couple of Vendors, Vendors has got promotions on different products with different dates. If I sort date field, product quantity is not sorting. How Can I sort both fields at the same time, if I sort Promotion date field in ascending order, the product quanitity has to sort respectively?

    the above D02_ZA tag sometimes comes more than one QD with different dates. Same dates has to go under one tag with respective quantities!! This is the situation, can any solve this please?
    The target tag "ProductDemandInfluencingEventNotification" will generate based on number of promotions on particular date. Ex: if one vendor has 'n' number products promotions on 3 different dates, 3 "ProductDemandinfluenceevennotifications" has to generate, that three promotion dates and quantities has to respectively.
    That ZA02 (Qty) value has to go Quantity target field.

  • Can I sort the images used in a book's browser by the # of times used?

    I'm also producing a DVDSP slideshow of the event's (selected) photos not included in the book.
    Q2: Can I sort the images used in a book's browser by the # of times used?
    That way I don't have to search thru hundreds of photos. When used in a book, each photo gets a badge showing the # of times used. Can this badge be used in a sort?
    Or must I apply a keyword to the used (or unused) photos?
    Thanks.

    But if the file has been embedded, the file name is lost.

  • How can you sort an album that was released in 2007 but has 80s music on

    I have v8 of iTunes, almost completed all my tagging how I want it in iTunes for all my music
    I have a query though, I have a 80s, 90s smart playlist.
    I have recently got an album that was released in 2007, so the year in my library is 2007, however all the music on that album is from the 80s.
    So can you tag with 2 years, ie Album release date and song release (original date) or can you sort the album to show its songs from the 80s.
    Someone must have the same issue, especially from compilation albums
    please help
    cheers

    ahh, was hoping it may have had a "overall" year or album year release date.
    Man that means I gotta tag a lot of my music with the correct year now then, as the compilation albums I got all tagged form web with year released
    Whats the best way to get the year of the songs then please? is there an easy way? Ive got a lot of songs to do now
    cheers

    It's not clear from your post, but you do realise
    that if you import a cd as a compilation, it will not
    appear under artists? This is done to save the iPod
    being cluttered up with single artists entries who
    might have only one song listed.
    I wasn't aware of that. It's true that I haven't been using the "compilation" tag for a long time. I've only started using it with iTunes 7 as otherwise with Coverflow I would have one album cover for each artist in a compilation. Before that my compilations weren't tagged as such as that is quite probably why each artist from compilations showed up when browsing by artists.

    Hey gunking,
    If you'd like to find out more information about our training courses, I'd be happy to speak with you further about what the course contains and locations offered, but it's probably best if we take this off of the forums for further conversation via phone or email.
    Create a new support request at www.ni.com/contact and set the product as TestStand.  You will be directed to myself or another engineer on my team, at which point you can ask for me or just speak with one of my teammates.
    Off the top of my head, I do know that there are a few courses coming up in Austin in the next couple of weeks (I'm teaching one myself), if you're interested in those.  Otherwise, courses are always being added for the future.
