Can It Be Done? - Using Java Class Files from a DB

Hello,
I am interested in storing a binary java class file in my oracle DB. Then I want to get it out at runtime and execute methods on it. I am planning on casting the object to an interface and executing the methods within. Please let me know if this is possible and where to look for more info, and a code example would be awesome.

I think you are going to need to serialize the objects and the classes. (Don't get stuck on semantics here, I don't mean use Java Serialization to write the Class instance, I am referring to writing the .class file to a field in the database.) Obviously the instances are what you are interested in (since you mentioned casting them to interfaces and invoking methods on them), but the class definitions will need to either be available already, or stored elsewhere in the database.

i have a java package which reads values from property file. i have imported the package.classname in jsp file and also i have created an object for the class file like
    classname object=new classname();
now iam able to access only the methods defined in the class but not the variables. i have defined connection properties in class file.
in jsp i need to use

con is declared in java class file.
    how to access the variables?

  • How can i run a java class file from shell?

    Hi all,
I've a .class file named "File" that contains Main method, it is in the package "File2".
How can I run it by shell command?
PS: "java -cp . file" doesn't work it launch->
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: File2/File (wrong name: File2/File)
    Thanks in advance.

Just to understand: is File2 ar jar archive or not? If it is a jar archive, have you tried open File2.jar? If File2 is a directory within the current directory, have you tried java -cp . File2/File? I just tested with a set of classes and it works... Let me be precise:
    * Let us imagine you are working in a directory whole path is PathToDir/
    * in this directory you have the classes put in a directory called File2
    * in order to launch File.class then you would have to invoke :
cd PathToDir/ (just to be sure)
    java -cp . File2/File
*if you were to do the following then you would have the problem you describe
    cd PathToDir/File2/
    java -cp . File

  • How to call java class file from jsp

    hi
we need to call java classes (which are written separately in .java file )from jsp file. we need it for our project if anyone knows about please reply us.
    bye
    siva sankari

you can call the methods in a lot of ways. you could use scriptlets with the
<%@ page import="package.class"%> and then inside instantiate an object
    <%
         MyClass mc = new MyClass(parameters if any);
         mc.theMethodYouWantToCall();
    %>or as Madathil has stated,
    or use the JSP tags
<jsp:useBean id="anyname" class="classname"/>and then use the getProperty tag
    or even Custom Tags

  • Trying to run java class files from my jsp

I am having difficulty running java files from my jsp. I have compiled my two java classes and inserted them onto my server in the webapps/WEB-INF/classes/scripting directory and have imported scripting.* into my jsp page. The files both compiled ok before the class files were loaded onto the server but when I rty to run the jsp from the server, I keep getting a compiler error. Thanks in advance
    Iob

    Here are the few question
    1) Does your java classes which u created is declared under package scripting. *.class files are to be places under the WEB-INF/classes directory only. Not under scripting. But if you java classes say are under a package called a.b. Then you need to put under classes\a\b\.

    Hi All,
I have a file called abc.java and i need to generate a class for the same using JDEVELOPER. Please help me what are the steps to be followed. I'm totally new to JAVA and first time working on JDEVELOPER tool.

Being completely new to something is not an argument (or shall we be honest: an excuse?) to not read the manual.
Just to note: I would pick Eclipse or Netbeans if you're completely new to java. You'll have more chance of finding help either in forums, mailing lists or Google searches. But if you must stick with JDeveloper, the forum is here:

  • Can i Use java Class

Can any help, can i use java class in
froms 6 or any one have designed form
of progress bar please help me

    Thanks for your reply...
Actually the task is quite simple... It requires me to do a better interface for a tomcat server folders...
For example, users are free to access
    http://apache.oss.eznetsols.org/jakarta/tomcat-5/v5.0.12-beta/
to download the tomcat... However, its index may not nice and easy for browing.. Therefore, the task requires a new dynamic page to access this server folder, and get all file names under this folder, anlaysis whether it is file or directory..and finally get its path....
It is quite easy to do a JSP page, but I don't know whether it is possible to do by using JavaScript .... Although JS is running in client side, the user/client also can access the tomcat folder, why not JavaScript?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Where to place an xml file that is read by  java class file  dir structure

    Hello all,
I have an xml file that I am using in lieu of a database to track conference rooms . This is a small file. I need to read this file from my java class file which is used by a jsp. Currently I have an absolute path C://logger/conference.xml. All works fine but I need to deploy to a different machine soon and so I need to place this file somewhere in the project directory structure (created by netbeans) so that it will be included in the war file and can be read by the java class file.
Also what would be the relative path to this suggested directory.
    TIA!!!

  • Executing class files from a Java App dynamically

Hi!, Is there any way i can execute java .class files from my Java Application dynamically. I know that java uses Dynamic method Invocation. Is that true of class files generated using some other language compiled for the JVM.
In my case i would like to make a Web browser that interprets HTML and also java applets embeded in them. I would like to use the JRE of the platform execute the applets for me rather than writing the code for my Browser to interpret the class files.
    Thanks in Advance.

You just need a custom class loader to bring these applets into your JVM.
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Security/Fundamentals/magercises/URLClassLoader/index.html
Then you can use the methods of java.lang.Class to create an instance of such a class. As soon as you have it, you can just treat it as a regular Applet and invoke init(), stop() etc. appropriately.
If you want to execute anything else than conventional Applets, you might consider reflection to find out about methods implemented:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/reflect/index.html

  • Reverse-Engineer Java Class Files ---- Launch Java Application From Icon

    hi,
is there a way to prevent java class files from being interpreted back into java source files (jad.exe does exactly that) ?
i have a batch file to compile my java application and another to run the application. the application is run by invoking the batch file from dos window.
i'd like to be able to double-click on some icon to launch the application.
    how do i accomplish this?
    thank you.

s there a way to prevent java class
files from being interpreted back into
java source files (jad.exe does exactly that) ?There are two ways to prevent that:
    1. Use an obfuscator. Look at this page for
explanation of what is that, and then search google
    "java obfuscator" for products.
    http://www.devx.com/tips/Tip/13580
    2. Compile your application to native code (google
for "excelsior jet" or "gcj"). Look at this page for
    more details:
    http://www.excelsior-usa.com/jetprotection.html
i'd like to be able to double-click on some
    icon to launch the application.
how do i accomplish this?Do you want to do that on your computer only, or you
need a solution to make the clickable icon on
    computers of your end-users?
    Denis.thanks to all,
i'll see suggest sites for more details on obfuscator.
I'd like to have the application doulbe-clickable on end-users' computers.

  • How to restrict the .class file from decompilation

    Hi all,
i got a security problem. i need all the java class files to be most secured. is there any to restriction on the java class files from decompilation. is that possible?. pls help me out. it's very urgent
    thanks in advance

You can make it harder to understand the decompiled code if you use an obfuscator. (I don't have links to any, do a google search, or search these forums, it have been discussed here previously.)
You cannot completely prevent decompilation, though. Obfuscating does not for example not mean that any passwords you have hardcoded in the source is secure.
