Security feature in OBIEE when integrating Cubes from SAP BW

Situation: We are trying to integrate SAP BW cubes with OBIEE and create reports on OBIEE.
We can import cubes and stuff into OBIEE and do the modelling to the multi dimensional db..
But when we talk about securities, we (in OBIEE side) want to do it through LDAP Servers. // hitting a hurdle
So the Authentication can be done using LDAP Servers, but the Authorization cannot be done by LDAP, since the client doesn't have that concept for authorization using LDAP
So I want to figure out some solution where we can do the authorization through another means...Your ideas are deeply appreciated

Problem when pushing IDOC from SAP to XI

Hi,
I am trying to push an IDOC from SAP R/3 system to XI. When I processed the IDOC using test tool(WE19), it's showing message that IDOC sent succesfully to R/3 or External system. But in SM58 Transaction it gave error message that in Trabsaction IDX1: some RFC connection error. Then I opened the Transaction IDX1 on XI server, in that IDOC Adapter configuration I gave RFC destination, Logical system name of R/3 and saved it. Now When I tried again to push IDOC from R/3 to it's not giving any error message(in SM58), but I am not able to see any thing in SXMB_MONI. Can anybody guess what's happening? And also I am using fresh newly installed XI server. DO I need to configure something else? All RFC connections are well defined and working fine.

It is not required to create Sender Agreement for the Idoc to XI scenario. Because it is implicitly exists.
Can u check Receiver Determination created in the XI once again. And also check for RFC destinations created in the R/3.

BOX character at the end of line when file transferred from SAP to WINDOWS

Hi,
We have a file interface program which creates a comma seperated '.txt' file in application server. Once it is created in application server in provided path an UNIX script runs which transfers this file from SAP application server to a network drive in WINDOWS platform. This file looks fine when opened through WINSCP from SAP application server but when checked the file in network drive opened with note pad, it found each line come at the end of another line seperated by 'BOX' character.
If we opened the file in word pad instead of note pad it looks fine.
If any one of you have any idea to resolve this issue it will be a great help.

This happens because when you transfer the file to the Windows platform using the UNIX script it removes uses only a newline character at the end of each line instead of the Windows platform standard which is carriage return/newline. The Notepad program displays this character alone as the box that you see. If you want to verify take the same program and convert to Windows format using Notepad++ and you'll see that the same file then displays properly in Notepad.

Sending Userid when printing job from SAP

Is there a way to send a userid when printing from SAP? In order to control printing costs we are requiring user codes to be input to the printer before a job will print. The windows operating system is capable of sending the codes needed to the printer., Can the SAP application send a user codes ?

I don't think so directly unless you use LOCL and capture the Windows user ID, though I'm no printer expert. You may need to generate reports in SAP but then you're never guaranteed that the spool that was released to Windows was actually output. We have Equitrac boxes on all of our shared corporate printers. When the print comes out directly from SAP, the only identification as to where the print came from, other than the name of the Windows print queue, is the generic underlying SAP system user (not the SAP user ID). We can't track the cost unless the user actually logs into the box to use the printer/copier.
For our high volume color and black/white printers in our data center, we chargeback the print costs based on the Windows queue that the print came from. As you probably know, you can have many SAP print queues/devices that point to the same physical printer. We name all of our queues such that the using company/department/application is easily identified and our operators track the costs in that manner.

How is the user opening the .csv attachment?
I'm guessing that it should be opened with Excel.
Are you using an attachment document type of 'XLS'?
If not, then the attachment won't be opened with Excel unless the user right-clicks on it and does 'Open with'.
Even then, the user will have to use the Excel import wizard.
Is a .csv file what you want?
You can use the ABAP OLE stuff to write a native Excel file that can be attached to an email.
Or you can (at the cost of more work) write the Excel file (still type XLS) using XML, which gives you more control, and still works when your program is run in the background.

Implementing Security For ADF Pages when integrated with Oracle APPS

Can anyone please let me know the solution to the below problem ?
I have an ADF application that is deployed on a weblogic server. An URL is generated to access the ADF Pages.
I have created one more simple jsp (Launch.jsp) which redirects to this URL on page load.
I am using Oracle APPS where:
->I registered a form function referring to Launch.jsp
->I am referring form function in a responsibility , attaching that to a menu
->When the valid oracle user logs in, I am sending all oracle apps environment variables (User id , Responsibility id, application id ) for that session
What my issue is :
->The URL along with the parameters that I am sending from the Launch.jsp to the ADF Page is visible to the user. So, even if the Oracle APPS user has not logged in, anybody who knows the URL can access the ADF Pages.
->So, Is there any way to implement the security so as, even if anyone knows the URL of the ADF Page cannot access the ADF Pages without the valid user being logged-in through the Oracle APPS.
I am using Jdeveloper 11g.

Web Service Security is not working when migrating application from Tomcat

Hi,
We have a application running successfully in tomcat6 It calls a Webservice call through TIBCO BW interface.
When we deployed the same WAR file in Weblogic 10.3.2, it gives me a error on Prefix[ds] not able to locate namespace URI not found error.
IN Tomcat, its a existing application uses AxilUtility to get the soap messages after signing document for bothe encyption and decryption.
Please anybody help me out, is there any other jars needs to be locate in Weblogic to run this application. Its fine with Tomcat and gives error in Weblogic10.3.2

Denied access to update security features of Firefox When i attempt to move update to apps it says i do not have permission..

There was a security message from Firefox that my firefox security was not protected. Idownloaded the program and attempted to move it to apps download but was denied permission.
I much prefer Firefox to Safari but am stumpted. Can any one help?

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

Where is the security feature (closed lock) when I sign on for internet banking?

I upgraded to firefox4.0.1 and now I can't tell if my internet banking is safe. I don't see the closed "lock" when I'm about to sign on.

The lock symbol has been removed in Firefox 4 and replaced with the [[Site Identity Button]]

Adobe Form output cropped when sent directly from SAP to printer

I have created an Adobe Form (not interactive) that looks perfectly OK when previewed in Adobe Acrobat viewer but when printed blank margins of 4-5 millimeters are applied on all 4 paper edges. The form was designed with a coloured frame around it but the margins effectively remove most of the frame. The form content is being cropped instead of being compressed inside the margins.
The form has been created with LiveCycle Designer via SAP transaction SFP. I am generating the form from an ABAP program
When the form is printed from the Adobe Acrobat viewer I have the option to set Page Scaling to 'Fit to Printable Area'. This makes the form content being compressed inside the blank margins and the coloured frame remains intact. If I leave the Page Scaling setting as 'None' the output is being cropped as described above.
The real problem occurs when I want to print without previewing first. I need to do that since previewing enables the user to skip printing and the application must know if the form has been printed or not. I have so far found no way to make the printer print on the paper edges or fit the content to printable area. Is there some setting in the output parameters than handles this?
Also there is a need for duplex printing when sending form directly to printer. On help.sap.com there is information about duplex print for SAPscript and Smartforms but nothing for Adobe Forms.

Which printer layout settings are relevant for the handling of margins and duplex printing for Adobe Forms?
I have not set up the printer myself but when talking to the printer guy which settings should I recommend him to look at?
I can see in transaction SPAD that there are settings specific to SmartForms but there is nothing said about Adobe Forms. Is there some way to make Adobe Forms related setting appear in SPAD for a device type?
Maybe my problem is not related to the printer device settings but rather to the way the printer is being called. When printing duplex we will have to override the default settings of the printer anyway.
Function module FP_JOB_OPEN has a parameter structure of the type SFPOUTPUTPARAMS. Which fields in this parameter structure are to be manipulated to get duplex print and output fitted to page size?

Finding the XML file when importing ENH4 from SAP DVD

We are installing the ENH4 from the SAP DVD 51033594, but in the DVD there is no xml file. How can I get one? Our Solution Manager is not yet properly configured as the installation is new.

Hi Ana,
You need to configure your system in Solution Manager.
Then when you access Maintenance Optimizer, solman will automatically detect the required patches/DVD's needed for your upgrade.
The XML file generated by solman is MANDATORY.

i need file already exist i must not over overwrte the file i must throw an error but how do the open dataset for output will overwrite the file how do i prevent that. how can i check that a file of that name exist.
do i try to open dataset for input first then if sy-subrc EQ 0 it meant that a filename already exist

Gui Type when upload role from SAP R/3

We execute Role Upload function in EP 60.
It take R/3 Role and create role, transaction iview in EP.
My problem is when Role Upload function create transaction iview, They set Gui Type = WebGUI.
We just use WinGUI.
Is there any config for this ?

Error when importing IDOC structure from SAP - Control record missing

Hi!
We are hitting problems when importing IDOCs from SAP into the Integration Builder. The import ends successfully but when we drill into the IDOC structure we get a message: <b>Schema for type EDI_DC40.ASN_OUT.DELVRY01.Z1DELVRY (category Data Type) not found</b>. This is only happening for one specific IDOC type only. We have checked all we can think of but cannot get this to work. Any help would be very much appreciated.
