Can java use the Oracle user defined datatypes

Following the code snippets from the sample applications from the Oracle 9i manual,i have coded two classes:
java.util.Map map = (Map) conn.getTypeMap();
map.put("camr_owner.proc_test_type",Class.forName("testType"));
conn.setTypeMap(map);
These three lines cause the program to choke.
The exception thrown is :
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.AbstractMethodError: getTypeMap.
In one of the classes,i have a class that is exactly same as the Oracle UDT implementing the SQLData interface.
In the other,i mean the class where i have coded the above mentioned three lines,i have a main class which tries to make a connection to the database.I am using the java thin drivers(classes12.zip in the classpath).
Can anyone,point me what is the mistake in the lines.

I just asked this question about using Java to integrate with OpenScript because I didn't find much information online and the Oracle Support Community Forums have proven to be very helpful for me in the past, that's all.

Can I use the same user accounts for both Lion & SL?

I have one Mac that I can upgrade to Lion but it is the one that the entire family uses every day (I only can use it (and administer it) on weekends), so I have to make sure that there are no problems and no issues so my plan is to:
Move all of the users accounts to a different drive.
Configure 10.6.8 (SL) to use the user accounts on the different drive.
Back up SL to a bootable drive.
Repartition the Mac for a SL & Lion partition.
Reconstitute SL on both partitions.
Upgrade one SL partition to Lion.
I should now have a partition for SL and Lion that both use the same users accounts so when I (and then my family) are comfortable with Lion, the switch will be transparent.
Any problems that I am unaware of (and how to remediate it)?

Another way of doing it is to move the directory, and then alter the user's home directory using the NetInfo utility (Tiger) or Directory Utility (Leopard). In both, you can change the user's home directory from the command line in Terminal.app like so:
$ sudo dscl . -create /Users/user NFSHomeDirectory /Volumes/volname+/+user
In the SL System Preferences -> Accounts one can select a user's account, right click and choose Advance Options presents the screen below. This is how I intend to point each OS to the same user account on an external HDD.

I created a type "NUMARRAY" which is a varray of numbers.
I also created a type "NUMCOLLECTION" which is an object and contains "NUMARRAY"
The plan was to create the java object to map to numcollection. My question is can I map a java type directly to the NUMARRAY type, or must it map to an object? (here I'm referring to 'CREATE TYPE NUMARRAY AS VARRAY" or "CREATE TYPE NUMCOLLECTION AS OBJECT" in sql.
Also, if I do need to write java objects for both types? And if I do, do both need to implement SQLData?

I have two Illustrator docs using the same user defined palette, but the colors do not match.

I have similar charts using 80% of the same (CMYK) spot color as defined in a saved palette, but one is noticeable darker than the other.

You discovered a very powerful feature of Illustrator. You can assign attributes at the group level. You can also assign attributes at the layer, character and type level. Watch your appearance palette to confirm you attribute assignment.
For example if you had a rectangle file with 50% transparency of a spot color, then you group this and assign the group 50% transparency, your end tint would be 50% of the spot color.

Help needed for User-Defined Datatype

Hi All,
I have one table which has User-defined Column Datatype.
Now Client wants us to rename the User-Defined Datatype for some Standardization process.
How to do rename of it, coz Rename old to new doesnt work in Oracle 10.2.0.4G for TYPES.
So we re-created it with the new names. Now our Problem is how do i re-assign the column datatype with the New User-Defined DataType.

The Only Solution that i could found was - Create a new column with new User-Defined Datatype, copy the old column values to New Column, then drop the old column and rename the new Column to Old Column
ORA-22859:     invalid modification of columns
Cause:     An attempt was made to modify an object, REF, VARRAY, nested table, or LOB column type.
Action:     Create a new column of the desired type and copy the current column data to the new type using the appropriate type constructor.

Using the login user name in the report

Hi,
As you mentioned that you just upgraded the database, so the data is same and schema is same you can connect with the same work schema.
Yes, you can use the same contexts , but need to do Reverse Engineering for your new database.
And about data server, i think you also have no need to create new data server, if hostname,sid and port etc are same as these were with R11(consult with your DBAs regarding it)

That's the classic behaviour after using Migration Assistant and that's normal.

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

I need java dvelopment kit to work on a certain website. plugin is set as "ask to activate" but i don't get a option to activate so can't use the website

I need the Java Development Toolkit to work on a specific site to measure packet loss. As Firefox lists the plugin as a security risk there is no way to "enable" it permanently. So i choose the "ask to activate" option. but when i visit the site that requires java development toolkit, no option to click on anything to activate, no pop ups nothing. and i can't use the site.
Have installed latest java plugin, uninstalled, re-installed etc.
how can I solve this issue [short of dumping Firefox]

I tried that and it allowed me to select to activate the development toolkit on that site but the feature on the site still didn't work.
I can access the site and get it to work in IE and so I tried opening the site in Firefox with IE tab 2 but still no luck.
I am trying to use the site pingtest.com to measure my internet performance but the packet test always fails with java toolkit error.
Any other ideas greatly appreciated as I hate using IE. I have latest java update and everything too
