Can Jdeveloper TP4 deploy apps to OC4J standalone TP4

I tried to have JDeveloper TP4 deply my ADF web app to the latest OC4J standalone version but I get the following error:
Caused by: java.lang.InstantiationException: Import was not resolved for riscs.root:0.0.0: shared library "adf.oracle.domain" could not be found.
     at com.evermind.server.ApplicationStateRunning.initClassLoader(ApplicationStateRunning.java:1374)
     at com.evermind.server.ApplicationStateRunning.initializeApplication(ApplicationStateRunning.java:179)
     at com.evermind.server.Application.setConfig(Application.java:538)
Before I spend alot of time debugging is this currently supported or can I only use the OC4J shipped with JDeveloper?
Thanks.

The sad part about this thread is that we seem to be talking about completely separate products, like they are from different companies. I have not been given the secret decoder ring to determine which parts of the suite really work together or when the magic convergence will occur. From a client/customer perspective these are part of an Oracle suite of applications, and I can assure you that clients have spent significant amounts of money and have an expectation (which was sold to them) that that all parts of the suite work together "seamlessly".
I think everyone using TP releases understands and accepts a certain amount bugs and integration issues, however I have been working with 11G components for almost a year and I sometimes wonder if Oracle really understands the stress created on consultants when the "right-hand" does not seem to notice what the "left-hand" is doing.
Our project requires JSF/ADFFaces, Rules, XML, WebServices, ORM(Toplink/EclipseLink?), JEE5 Container, SVN version control integration at a minumum. It has been a monumental effort to create even prototypes to show our client progress toward the vision that was sold. We are continually being told that all will be good when all the products become production. This is a very big risk where failure is paid for by consulting not product.

  • Can multipule users deploy application to OC4J on 9iAS r2?

Is there a way to deploy applications to OC4J through the Enterprise Manager using different user than IAS_ADMIN?
    Thanks
    Marcel

    Hi Marcel,
In Oracle9iAS R2 9.0.2, ias_admin is the only predefined admin user you can use to deploy an application (the Enterprise Manager website runs on it's own OC4J instance, config files are located in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/j2ee/config, the admin user ias_admin is defined in $ORACLE_HOME/sysman/j2ee/config/jazn-data.xml). Futre release of Oracle9iAS will allow you to define additional admin users.
BTW, what's the purpose to deploy applications using a different user?
    Regards,
    Chen.

  • Seems fail on deploying mapviewer on oc4j standalone

    Hi,
I downloaded MapViewer 10.1.3.3 kit from Oracle website and try to deploy mapviewer.ear with oc4j standalone (10.1.3.1.0).
I deployed mapviewer.ear with the oc4j. But, I got HTTP 500 Internal Server Error when I go to the following address.
    http://machine_name:8888/mapviewer/omserver?getv=t
If I sucessfully deploy it, it should display the version and build number. Obviously, http://machine_name:8888/mapviewer did not work.
I thought that I deployed it according to User's Guide for Oracle MapViewer. From oc4jadmin screen, the mapviewer status is running.
Would you kindly advise me what other things I need to do?

    The issue was port number.
I used oc4j which comes with OBI EE. The oc4j port# is 9704.
When I switched the port# to 9704, it displayed the build and version number.
    http://localhost:9704/mapviewer/omserver?getv=t
    Thanks

I am simply copying to the sdcard and then using Install It to try and install the .apk
I read something where the guy said he'd only seen that when you compiled for an os version higher than what the phone has. I have 2.1 on my phone and not sure how I find out what verison I am compiling for, or how to change it...
Update: just tried the .apk on a co-workers phone with 2.2 and he get's the same parse error...

  • Deploy ADF application to standalone OC4J 11g

    Hi people!
I found some threads into the forums that deal with the subject but I did not find any solution, so I post a new thread...
In fact, I'd like to deploy a "war" on a standalone oc4j 11g.
The application was built with jdev 11g TP4.
I can't use the ADF runtime Installer of jdev, so I have to copy all the files by myself, but the problem is that I do not find the files in jdev11/BC4J/lib/ that I have to copy in oc4j/BC4J/lib...
    There is no adfcm.jar, bc4jdomorcl.jar, etc ...
Is it normal ? Could someone indicate me how to configure the standalone oc4j 11g in order to deploy my "war" ?
    Thanks a lot,
    romain.

    Hi,
    TP4 doesn't have a standalone OC4J.
Try to start embedded oc4j from jdeveloper in standalone mode.
see e.g. Re: Can Jdeveloper TP4 deploy apps to OC4J standalone TP4
BTW: The production release 11g is announced within next week and this release will contain Weblogic Server 10gR3 instead of OC4J.
    JDeveloper 11g release this month?
    regards

  • OC4J Standalone with sso in a different server

    Hi
I'm trying to implement sso in a application of mine. the scenario is: application deployed in a OC4J standalone version 10.1.3 ( oc4j_extended_101300 ), I have a AS server ( Enterprise Manager ) 10.1.2.0.2 where resides the OID. I want to force the single sign-on in the AS server and then continue with my app in the standalone OC4J.
How can I achieve this? I've seen some documentation on that, but I was unable to make it work.
    Thanks in advanced
    Vitor

I'm employing the dead-end OC4J configuration to build JSR-168 portlets for use in Aqualogic UI/ WCI version 6.5 Portal. I was having some success getting the WSRP Producer component of a JSF Page to display/consume JSR 168 portlets in the ALUI portal before the server error.
The JDev 11g download with imbedded weblogic 10gR3 server doesn't include the webcenter/portlet extentions and I've had issues getting ADF Fusion Web applications to run within the ALUI 6.5 portal page via WSRP.
    Without the ability to either
    1. Uninstall OC4J Standalone where the configurations get backed out and I can start from scratch...
    or
    2. fix the OC4J configuration to resolve the error....
I guess I'll attempt to deploy Tech Preview 4 Jdeveloper built JSR-168 portlet WARs to WebLogic standalone instead with a new deployment descriptor and see if ALUI portal WSRP will work without the Oracle Containers 4 J2EE.
    Thoughts?

Can anyone help me, am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks,
    Pedja

Running into the same issues; been juggling between JDK 5/6, Embedded and Standalone OC4J on various platforms; still no answer...
    Here's what I do know:
OC4J on TN is for TP1 only, JDeveloper is for TP3 or later, so you must use the bundled OC4J with JDeveloper cross platform as well - including all patches like SOA and friends.
JDK 6u4 is very bad; use anything but that; u5 seems good.
A good start might be to go with the Emedded OC4J, take a look at the classpath and startup commands given by the IDE for the server in the logs and simply match with some bat file if you can - from the looks of it the Standalone OC4J is behind thus the reason it's only released for TP1.
I'm not bothering with this till they pair a release with a Standalone OC4J.

  • Can't Complete Deployment to OC4J Standalone

I have successfully deployed 3 projects to OC4J standalone on a Win2k box. I have now set up OC4J on a Sun box. I have deployed 2 of the (basic) web apps sucessfully, but the third, which consists of an EJB/BC4J project and a servlet/JSP project, does not completely deploy. All files are written to the correct directories as far as I can see, but the app info is not written to the config files. In JDev, there are no messages after the deployment command line. It hangs until I kill the admin tool.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Can you verify the JAVA_HOME, sometime, when you deploy an EJB application, OC4J need compile it.

  • Can Jdeveloper 10.1.3 deploy web service on OC4J 10.1.2?

    Hi all,
Can I use jdeveloper 10.1.3 develop, and deploy web service on OC4J 10.1.2? My jdk version is 1.4.2. Thanks in advance.

We don't have a direct connection from JDev 10.1.3 to OC4J 10.1.2 - we do have a connection to OAS 10.1.2.
If you want to deploy to a stand alone OC4J 10.1.2 then just create the WAR file in JDeveloper - and then use the OC4J admin interface to deploy the WAR.

  • Problems deploying app to WebSphere in EAR, fine via JDeveloper

    JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0, WebSphere 7.0.0.17, Windows 2008 server
We have developed some applications that use ADF and are trying to port them to WebSphere. We've done the adding of ADF to WebSphere, and set up WebSphere application connectors in JDeveloper.
When we build our apps in JDeveloper, then deploy to WebSphere directly, they run in WebSphere.
When we take the same applications and deploy them to an EAR file, then install the EAR file in WebSphere, they're not running.
The applications run fine both ways when deployed to WebLogic 10.3.5.
After the EAR deployment when running our application in WebSphere we get
Error 500: javax.servlet.ServletException: Filter [ADFLibraryFilter]: Could not find required filter class - oracle.adf.library.webapp.LibraryFilter.class
I found that that class is in adflibfilter.jar, I manually add that as a test, deploy from the EAR, I get
Error 500: javax.servlet.ServletException: Filter [trinidad]: Could not find required filter class - org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.webapp.TrinidadFilter.class
So I'm thinking that the EAR deployments aren't finding any of the ADF and if I continue I'll be manually adding all of ADF.
Also, this may be a clue, when deploying via an EAR, WebSphere wants us to manually wire up the JDBC references to JDBC resources, but when deploying via JDeveloper that step is handled automatically.
    Where should I start?

    Hi
I have a few doubts in the deployment. I am using Standalone OC4J as my target App Server. My first doubt is that, do i need to install ADF Runtime Libs. If yes, what will be the location of the ADF libs/jars in the server location.
I am srill getting the error :
2009-09-18 12:25:03.325 WARNING The AdfFacesFilter has not been installed. ADF Faces requires this filter for proper execution.
    2009-09-18 12:25:24.340 NOTIFICATION oracle.adf.share.config.ADFConfigFactory No META-INF/adf-config.xml found
    Can somebody help me out.
    Thanks

  • JDeveloper ADF Deployment to OC4J

Have developed a UIX/JSP in JDeveloper 9.0.5.2. It works fine as expected with the JDeveloper embedded OC4J server.
JSP is a master detail page, can scroll through master records and see detail lists. Deployment is successful to standalone OC4J...But it does not work there, behaviour is this: on startup, first master record is displayed, but no details...then next button(s) do not work. Have deployed a WAR, have gond through JDev library installations for OC4J, etc....but page initially displays first master record, then does nothing else.
Where can I find a detailed deployment how-to page for deploying to OC4J? I have been through several already, but something is still missing.
    Regards,
    Mark R

Try the steps detailed in the reviewer guide for JDeveloper. (page 26). http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/collateral/papers/10g/reviewer/reviewerguide.html

  • Jdeveloper Deployment issue with OC4J

I am using JDEVELOPER with Standalone Version of OC4J. I am trying to deploy the application EAR file generated using JDEVELOPER deploymnent wizard in to Standalone instance of OC4J. I am having issue with the Application server connecton wizard.
I do not know the 'admin' password of the OC4J standalone instance. I am able to start the instance with 'java -jar oc4j.jar'. I am able to access the instacne with
    http://localhost:8888.
I am having issue with the Application server connecton wizard. It requires 'admin'
password to create a connection with the app server. The deployment could not succeed without the password.
I would appreciate feedback and suggestons.
    Thanks.
    Palani

This will reset the password to welcome for you (I've had this problem too - it happens if OC4J doesn't shutdown properly)
    java -jar oc4j.jar -install
Enter an admin password to use: welcome
    Confirm admin password: welcome
    Installation done

  • Deployment BIB app. to OC4J 9.0.2.0.1

    Hello friends,
I have Sun Solaris' version of the Oracle9iAS 9.0.2.0.1 with OC4J and standalone OC4J v. 9.0.2 as well, both running on the same machine.
When deploying sample BIBeans JSP application to Oracle 9iAS with OC4J v.9.0.2.0.1 I received message : Can't connect to X11 window server using ':0.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.
The deployment of the same application to the standalone OC4J v. 9.0.2 goes well.
    Could someone help me?

Did you use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) to deploy the BIBeans JSP application? If so, OEM has a X11 server dependency on all UNIX platforms. You need to either configure your X11 server appropriately or you can try to deploy the application using dcmctl. There's also a chance that the deployment actually took place despite the eror you're getting. You can try dcmctl listApplications to check for all deployed applications. Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    -lars
