Can JWS accept somekind of param's values from JavaScript

Like in Applet we could pass a param's value from JavaScript. Is it possible to do something similar to JWS?.
Thanks.

Java Web Start is implemented as a browser helper application, the browser downloads
the jnlp file, and launches javaws with that downloaded temp file as an arg. Because of this
you cannot pass args to javaws except thru the jnlp file.
The most common way to dynamically generate args and parameters to a javaws app is
to dynamically generate the jnlp file use a jsp page or a servlet.

  • Passing value from JavaScript window to form

    Hi,
    Coul'd You help me?
    I have a test form. I open new JavaScript window from this form. I generate list of authors in this window by the procedure show_list. I want to pass value from JavaScript window back to test form, but
    the command "window.opener.document.forms[idx_form].elements[idx_fld].value = val;"
    don't pass value to test form. Where is mistake?
    Thanks Vaclav

  • How can I get the variable with the value from Thread Run method?

    We want to access a variable from the run method of a Thread externally in a class or in a method. Even though I make the variable as public /public static, I could get the value till the end of the run method only. After that scope of the variable gets lost resulting to null value in the called method/class..
    How can I get the variable with the value?
    This is sample code:
    public class SampleSynchronisation
         public static void main(String df[])
    sampleThread sathr= new sampleThread();
    sathr.start();
    System.out.println("This is the value from the run method "+sathr.x);
    // I should get Inside the run method::: But I get only Inside
    class sampleThread extends Thread
         public String x="Inside";
         public void run()
              x+="the run method";
    NB: if i write the variable in to a file I am able to read it from external method. This I dont want to do

    We want to access a variable from the run method of a
    Thread externally in a class or in a method. I presume you mean a member variable of the thread class and not a local variable inside the run() method.
    Even
    though I make the variable as public /public static, I
    could get the value till the end of the run method
    only. After that scope of the variable gets lost
    resulting to null value in the called method/class..
    I find it easier to implement the Runnable interface rather than extending a thread. This allows your class to extend another class (ie if you extend thread you can't extend something else, but if you implement Runnable you have the ability to inherit from something). Here's how I would write it:
    public class SampleSynchronisation
      public static void main(String[] args)
        SampleSynchronisation app = new SampleSynchronisation();
      public SampleSynchronisation()
        MyRunnable runner = new MyRunnable();
        new Thread(runner).start();
        // yield this thread so other thread gets a chance to start
        Thread.yield();
        System.out.println("runner's X = " + runner.getX());
      class MyRunnable implements Runnable
        String X = null;
        // this method called from the controlling thread
        public synchronized String getX()
          return X;
        public void run()
          System.out.println("Inside MyRunnable");
          X = "MyRunnable's data";
      } // end class MyRunnable
    } // end class SampleSynchronisation>
    public class SampleSynchronisation
    public static void main(String df[])
    sampleThread sathr= new sampleThread();
    sathr.start();
    System.out.println("This is the value from the run
    method "+sathr.x);
    // I should get Inside the run method::: But I get
    only Inside
    class sampleThread extends Thread
    public String x="Inside";
    public void run()
    x+="the run method";
    NB: if i write the variable in to a file I am able to
    read it from external method. This I dont want to do

    Your main thread continues to run after the sathr thread is completed, consequently the output is done before the sathr thread has modified the string. You need to make the main thread pause, this will allow sathr time to run to the point where it will modify the string and then you can print it out. Another way would be to lock the object using a synchronized block to stop the main thread accessing the string until the sathr has finished with it.

  • Access af:table values from JavaScript array (for google maps task)

    Hi!
    I have JSP page with af:table where latitude and longitude for google maps are stored. I am using these tutorial [https://blogs.oracle.com/middleware/entry/integrating_google_maps_with_adf] and I know how to access latitude and longitude from output text (for one point). Now i need to do something similar with loop for all table rows. How can I achieve this?
    I have JavaScript code which uses Google Maps API and can display many points on one map. Also I have longitude and latitude data in af:table (bindings), each table row has one point. My task is to take data from af:table and pass it to JavaScript.
    May be it is better to use managed bean as you said. Firstly I will access binding data from managed bean. Then I have to pass this data to JavaScript method? Can you suggest some example? I have "Using JavaScript in ADF Faces Rich Client Applications"

    My table is there :
    <af:table value="#{bindings.LocView1.collectionModel}" var="row"
                                  rows="#{bindings.LocView1.rangeSize}"
                                  emptyText="#{bindings.LocView1.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"

  • How can I display the correct enum ring value from a parameter file?

    A user will make selections based on the menu ring (there are several of these) and then the values are saved for later use as a parameter (text) file. I have several menu rings which I write out to a parameter (text) file.
    How can I take these text values back into the appropriate location in the menu ring. For example, if I have menuring_value at index 0, menuring_value at index 1, etc. how do I make sure that, when the par (text) file is loaded, the saved values are the ones displayed without erasing the displayed menu ring value and inputting the saved one (from the parameter file). I would like the text value to search the appropriate menu ring, make a match and then display that menu ring value when the parameter file is loaded.

    If I understand your question, attached VI should have solved your doubt
    In this example, Configuration File VIs are used to save & retrieve MenuRings' statuses.
    As this VI is improvised, please further modify it to suit your needs.
    Cheers!

  • How can I retrieve the document line status value from UI

    Hi,
    Right now I need to do some check with the each document line status in UI, but it seems it doesn't exist in the the matrix. When I try to use code like this:
    oEditText = (SAPbouiCOM.EditText)oMatrix.Columns.Item("LineStatus").Cells.Item(i).Specific;
    It gives me Invalit Column error, I guess the line status field does not exist in the matrix. Do I have to use DI or SQL query to retrieve the like status value?
    Thanks,
    Lan

    If the document is open on the screen, you can of course get line status from the UI.
    It is column 40:
    oEditText = (SAPbouiCOM.EditText)oMatrix.Columns.Item("40").Cells.Item(i).Specific;

  • In OBIEE 11g, how can you set a presentation variable value from javascript ?

    I want to set up presentation variable from a javascript variable. Does anyone knows the workaround for this ?

    SriniVEERAVALLI,
    Thanks for your suggestions. I want to make a custom prompt that is only my requirement. From JS I have made a custom slider prompt now I want to use this slider prompt to pass selected value in presentation variable. Since, we have slider prompt only for numbers, I have to use it for other values.
    I just want to make my post looks simple and focus on the specific problem.
    Anyways, thanks a lot for taking time to reply. Appreciate your help.

  • How to pass value from Javascript function to a Java class method

    Hi All,
    I want to pass a value, which I catch in a Javascript function to a method in a Java class. I have tried many combinations but it gives me error.
    This is the way I am doing
    function assignBill() {
    proj = projPh.substring(0,indSlash);
    <% myproject.getProj(" project_cd = '" + proj + "'");%>
    proj is the variable which I want to pass to getProj methods.
    If any one has done this, please let me know. Thanks for your help.

    The only way to receive something from clients page is to submit it somehow: through a form or link, but the info has to make it back to the server obviously. I dont know how your app works, but you can use the the javascript -location.href- function(i think) to submit the var to the server and process it there.

  • Generic proceeding for setting application item's value from javascript?

    For the moment, all I can think of is a javascript function calling an on-demand process that looks like this:
    function setVariableValue(pName, pValue){
    var gReturn;
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=odpSetVariableValue',0);
    get.addParam('x01',pName);
    get.addParam('x02',pValue);
    gReturn = get.get();
    get = null;
    odpSetVariableValue
    begin
    execute immediate ':' || wwv_flow.g_x01 || ' := ' || wwv_flow.g_x02;
    end;
    Is there an APEX function to do it without "execute immediate"?
    Igor

    Hello Igor,
    I think you can do the same thing without actually executing a PL/SQL Process (look here for an example).
    function setVariableValue(pName, pValue){
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null,$x('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=dummy',0);
    get.add(pName, pValue);
    var gReturn = get.get();
    get = null;
    (The Application Process dummy doesn't really exists...).
