We've been using robocopy with the /MAXAGE option to copy files newer than a certain date. Can the same be done for folders?

We cannot use robocopy to folders newer than a certain date, the /MAXAGE option is only used to copy files. We could use PowerShell command to copy folders newer than X days.
Get-ChildItem <source folder> -Recurse | where {$_.PSIsContainer -eq "ture" -and $_.LastWriteTime -gt ($(Get-Date).Adddays(-X))} | foreach {copy $_.FullName <detination folder> }

Make sure you are running it with elevated permissions (i.e. right-click, run as 'administrator')...have you tried that?

Hello all, I have 5 pcs I am setting up for the manufacturing shop floor and I setup a local group policy to restrict running any applications except for the listed few. Once I set it up on the first PC, I copied the folders over to the other PC's and gpupdate /force applied them, but now I can't seem to edit them. Is there another tool aside from gpedit that I need to use? I can see a policy applied in rsop.msc, but I dont see a way to edit what the policy even is, just that there is a software restriction policy in place.

I've followed the instructions to copy iTunes from an old PC to a new one, but still get the message on the new PC that iTunes cannot locate the songs when i try to play them. Can anyone help? Please?

Given that Photoshop is a copy-protected application, it's not terribly surprising it won't work after a copy like that. I'm guessing you may have to uninstall and reinstall (possibly using the Creative Suite removal tool), then reactivate. Successful activation may require your calling customer support.

Mountain Lion has high requirements:
Lion also supports iCloud. Lion only needs Core2Duo and 2 GB RAM (though 4+ GB is better).
You can get Lion by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE and paying $19 for a download code to use in App Store.

Hello, I just got a new ssd for my snow leopard macbook and would like to copy After Effects CS3 from the original HD to SSD if possible.
When I tried to just put After Effects in the SSD application folder and launch it, I got an error "licensing for this product has stopped working. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling it. Or contact IT administrator or adobe customer support."
What am I supposed to do?

I recommend you to give the definitive size you think you will need to both partitions.
An example: you have created the second volume, and you have also the first volume. If you want to resize the first volume and reduce its size to add the space to the second partition, you will have problems because Disk Utility won't allow you to add it. That's why you should give to each volume the definitive size

Yes use the Adobe DNG converter to convert the proprietary raw files to DNG raw files. Then LR4 will be able to read them.
The Adobe converter is free.

I updated to 1.1.3 - Why can't I use any of the new features?

Hey, I just got my ipod touch 8 gig. It came with 1.1.2 on it so I updated. Now when I go to settings and about, it says it's 1.1.3 as well... To add webapps to your homesceen, to add lyrics to your ipod, to make the apps on the homescreen jiggle around . You MUST buy the $20 upgrade. All the firmware update of 1.1.3 added was the ability for your ipod to watch rented movies from itunes and thats ONLY if you update your itunes to 7.6. So to get anything you wish you must get the $20 upgrade.

As long as you have the serial number (or numbers if it's an upgrade) you simply install it as normal and put in the numbers when asked.
You don't need to ask Apple for permission or tell it that you are changing computers.
You could install it on millions of computers if you wanted but to stay legal you are only supposed to put it on a maximum of 2 computers (one laptop and one desktop that you own).
I am not sure whether FCS 2 will work with Lion but you'll soon find out!

Can Bridge sort my images into folders based on an Exif date?

All my Adobe products are pre-CS/CS2 and I don't yet have access to Adobe Bridge. My trial copy has also timed out. However, I would like to know if Bridge has the capability to take a folder of images (Canon Raw) and move them to new folders based on the original exposure date as stored in the Exif metadata (ideally creating the required target folders automatically). I'm thinking in terms of one folder per year, probably with subfolders for each month.
I'm simply trying to avoid having all my images in a single humongous folder with Bridge re-creating (or at least re-displaying) thousands of thumbnails every time I just want to look at a few images. Sorting them into folders by date just seems a simple solution to that problem. However, I'd be very happy to hear about alternative image filing ideas.
Once I have used Bridge to create extended metadata for image categories, etc, I'm also assuming that Bridge will let me search for images that match defined criteria no matter how many folders those images are stored in.

I don't know of any functionality to do that in Bridge now; however, it certainly can be done via scripting.
Perhaps one of our forum contributors might want to take on a "picture sorter" script...
