Can somebody help me on how to create Search help exit?

I have requirement where in i have to use search help exit in search help .Based on the value in the GET parameter id i have to extract the value in the search help can somebody help me in this.

In order to offer a meaningful input help for as many screen fields as possible, the R/3 System uses a number of mechanisms. If there is more than one such mechanism available for a field, the one that is furthest left or at the top of the above hierarchy is used.
In addition to the options described above for defining the input help of a field in the ABAP Dictionary, you can also define it in the screen field. The disadvantage, however, is that there is no automatic reuse.
With the screen event POV, you can program the input help of a field by yourself. You can adjust the design of the help to the standard help using the function modules F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST or F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST. However, you should check to see if the part of the input help that you programmed yourself should be implemented as a search help exit instead (see Appendix).
You can also attach a search help to a screen field in the Screen Painter (Module Pool programming). There are some functional restrictions on this kind of attachment as compared with attachment in the Dictionary.
You should no longer use the input checks defined directly in the flow logic of the screen, from which it is also possible to derive input helps.
The function Technical info is offered in the hit list in the menu of the right mouse key. It can be used to find out which of the specified mechanisms is being used.

and How to maintain search help for Ztable fields at DIctionary level (in SE11) and programming level.

there are two types of search helps .
1. elementary search help .
2. collective serch help
Below are the steps to create elementary search helps :
1 In the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary, select object class Search help, enter the name of the search help and choose Create.
2.then youget a option elementary or collective search as per you r need .
3.select Elementary search help and choose
4.write explanatory text in the field Short text.
5. in the selection method give the name of the table or a view .
6 . Select the fields that should be used for value selection or in a hit list .
7. then define the attributes of the search help .
8 Select the IMP flag if it is an import parameter. Select the EXP flag if it is an export parameter.
9 .define the dialog type of the search help.
The dialog type tells how the hit list will be displayed in the input help.
10 . save and activate .

Using the T-Code SE11 you can create search help, first you should create one search help name in that screen then it will ask two options in that option you should select first one(Elementary search help), then third window will open, in the third window you should give table name and field names for that table and Lpos, Spos values then activate it. After finish this process you should move to SE11 screen then give table name afterwards you click the regarding fields for your search help.

You can do this with the help of collective search help.
Collective search helps:- Combination of elementary search helps. When we need to fetch data based on multiple selection criteriau2019s. More than one tables are Selection from multiple tables
Steps for creating collective search help.
1) Enter the search help name and click on create.
2) Choose Collective search help radio button option as the search help type.
3) Enter the search help parameters.
Note that there is no selection method to be entered for a collective search help.
4) Instead of the selection method, we enter the included search helps for the collective search help.
5)We need to assign parameters for each of the included search helps.
6) Complete the parameter assignment by clicking on the push button.
7) Collective search help offers the user to obtain F4 help using any of the included search helps.

You can create this in SE11, there create a search help, and in the Minatain Search HElp screen, give the Maintanance view name and give the field anmes as you want, and right side you will find 'Default Values', there you can give the default values, so here in the Field name give as STATUS and in the Defaule Value will be 2.

i have an intersting question for you, well my scenario is like i have to create a search help exit using some function module cause i didt found table for my search help but i can find the value through FM, i know we can create a search help exit and then assign it to collective search help,
my problem is what are the parameters i need to pass to this search help exit FM, and in the function module i want to use the value entered on the f4 selection screen to extract data through FM. i need to give a solution asap.

In case if you want to use in parameters statement, then we can use the suffix MATCHCODE OBJECT syntax.
Eg.
report abc.
parameters : a(10) type c matchcode object ZBELNR.

Lion does not include Rosetta.
