Can't change Window User's Profile Location

I would like to change the Window User's Profile Location. I've followed the instructions on page 85 of User Management Apple's document unsuccussefully.
In the Windows tab of Group Management, I have enter my new SMB sharepoint :
User Profile Path : \\servername\sharename\folder\usershortname
The Window Client's computer is recocgnized by the OD / PDC Leopard server, I can login without any problem, but at the end of the Window XP session's, the profile is still saved at //ODMasterServer/Users/Profiles/.
The strangest is that in XP I perfectly reach \\servername\sharename\folder\ and can write what I want within.
I think that the Leopard PDC doesn't send the correct information to the client for the profile folder path's.
Where can I verify or change it ?
A solution would be to write a login script for the client, any idea of a short script ?

I solve partialy my problem.
I use a Windows Server 2003 with file sharing.
1) Add the server the same way you add an XP client computer in the OD domain.
2) Create a file sharing using the server admin console (DO NOT USE the file sharing on the properties of the file) choosing full access for admin and read/write access for users
3) In the security of the shared directory add the OD admistrator's (be careful domainnamedomainadmin not only domain_admin) and give him full access.
So apparently the PDC and the SMB doesn't work correctly in Leopard Server apart for the file /Users/Profiles.
It works more or less fine.
Now, I want to hide the home's and profil's file to the other users (mac or windows).

I'm using an iMac with OSX 10.6.8.  The proceedure on your system is probably similar.
Get the Facetime window up, and go to Facetime preferences.  Click on "account,"  you'll see a view account option that will prompt you to sign in with your Apple id and password.  From there you can make the changes that you want.

  • HT201342 How can I change the USER of my i-cloud address? My 12 year old set up the e-mail account and used a silly user name (like: turtle!!). I would like to have an icloud e-mail account but under my own user name. The other /old name can be deleted?

How can I change the USER name of my i-cloud e-mail account? It was set up by my son and he used a silly / embarrassing user name. I would like to change this name OR set up another i-cloud e-mail account under my own name / reference. Help?

iCloud email addresses can't be changed or deleted, but you can set up an alias namethat he can use which will be linked to his current iCloud account and will receive email in the existing iCould inbox.  This guide explains how: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622.

  • How can I change an user username

    Hi,
Please anyone tell me how can I change an user username. I need to do that because I have a .dmp with the same username as the one I already have in my database and I need to use the both.
    Thank you

You can just create your new user as required, then do an import with the parameters
    fromuser=olduser touser=newuser
plus whatever other parameters you require.

In most case you can do that , unless for example you have a placed image that has that color in a spot channel.

How can I change my user name on my iPhone 4S running OS 8.1.1 so I can update my Apps?

    Hi jprohask63,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
If you have applications that were originally downloaded from a different Apple ID, you would need to sign out of the current Apple ID and sign in to the Apple ID that was used originally to download the application. To complete this process please follow the instructions provided in the attached article.
iOS: Sign in with a different Apple ID in the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store - Apple Support

  • How can I change a user icon position?

How can I change the position that Yosemite determines for where a user icon is positioned on the login screen? I'm the admin and I added a standard user and the icon placement for that user is first, I'm second, and Guest User is third...it does not appear to be alphabetical. I'd like to switch the first two so my user icon is the first one on the left.

Locate a folder icon you wish to use. Select it and press COMMAND-C to copy. Select the folder you want changed. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. At the top left you will see that folder's icon. Click on it then press COMMAND-V to paste.
If you want to create your own icons then you will need an application to do that. For example, Folder Icon Changer 3.0.7.
Google searches will locste tons of pre-made folder icons you csn use. Some are free and some are not.

  • How can I change the User Password expiry date

    Hi,
I want to know how can I change the password expiration date of my user without changing his password. For eg:-
User password expires on 12th May 2007. I want to extend to 12th Jun 2007. Is there any option in Oracle.
    Alter User <USERNAME> password expire .....<to new date>;

The command is not alter user set expire...
You should modify the user's profile, and set a timeframe:
    ALTER PROFILE DEFAULT LIMIT
    PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME = num_of_days;
This way your password will be valid from the last time it was changed and for the time frame previously defined.

  • How can I Change a User's password remotely

    Hi all
I setup an iChat Server. I need to allow the users the ability to change their password without physically accessing the server (including via Remote Managment)
Thow some iChat(jabber) Clients support changing the password, the iChat Server does not appear to have this option.
Is there any way to remotely change a user's password ?
A possible solution would be to setup a Webpage allowing the user to logon and change the Password.
Is there any web managment tool on OS X Server for this ?
    Any other sugestions?
    Thanks,
    Best regards

This is getting depressing. I've just speand most of a day getting the OID to support ldaps SSL protocol, since I read that a number of active directory services only allow password change if the connection is encrypted. Finally got my ldaps connection, but the NoPermissionException is still there. The user I'm signing on as is definitely has user security management permissions. I can't seem to modify attributes at all. I added my own optional attribute to the schema, but JNDI can't set it.
Perhaps the oracle LDAP library in jpdk might help, but I'm not hopeful. If I could find any API documentation I might be more moved to try, but I see no setPassword methods in the relavant classes. This just looks like a fairly thin wrapper for JNDI anyway.
Does anyone know where the API doc for oracle.ldap.* is? Has anyone got a password to change other than by the SSO's built in change password dialog?
I'm not hopeful. On these boards I've found many questions along these lines but, thus far, no answers.

  • Can't Change a User's Password - "Reset Password" is Grayed Out

I'm trying to reset a user account in OS X 10.4.11 on a MacBook. I am the administrator and am logged in as such.
I have gone into System Preferences > Accounts and clicked the unlock icon, put in my admin password, and selected the other user from the list on the left (the other user is listed under "Other Accounts").
But the "Reset Password" button is simply greyed out, I can't select it. Any idea what I can do here?

Hi, not sure what is going on yet... can you change other ones?
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
