Can't connect to wifi - unless I boot into 10.5 first
I just upgraded my MacbookPro to Snow Leopard 10.6.4 and at first everything seemed to work.
After a few hours however I lost wifi connection and couldn't reconnect - I could see the network but airport wouldnt connect to it.
I trawled forums and tried a variety of fixes - trashing system configuration, changing location, changing channel, network name, security, open dns, static/dynamic ip but havent found anything that works.
The strange thing is if I boot from my leopard back up and then restart into Snow Leopard wifi will work no problem for a varying amount of time - sometimes a few hours - before I lose the signal and then I can't reconnect.
Anyone got any ideas cos frustrated I am.....
Even though I live in a rural area with few neighbours, even though the network works faultlessly with other operating systems, I did try changing the channel of the wireless network but to no effect. I doubt this is the problem tbh.
I erased the disk and did a clean install of 10.5.3 but migrated my network settings from my Leopard back up. Still no joy I couldnt get on the network.
So I gave up, went back to Leopard. Life is too short.
Maybe my router is incompatible with Snow Leopard, or maybe there is a problem with the OS.
As an end user it makes little difference, it doesnt work. Oh well.

After iPhone goes sleep, can't connect to wifi unless I turn it off and on
I'm having an odd issue. I've had my iPhone for about 1 month after owning an iPod touch. Both my gf and I have purchased iPhones and hers does not have this problem.
When the phone hasn't been used for a while (ie in my pocket) once I try using it again, it won't connect to the wifi. If I go under settings, I see a checkmark next to the wifi, but the 3G icon does not change to the wifi icon. It basically does not want to connect, however if I turn off the wifi and back on , it instantly connects. This happens with any wifi connection (at home or at work)
The same thing occasionaly happens to the 3G, it says I'm connected to the 3G network, but I can't use the internet at all. At this point I have to reset/reboot the iPhone. Then it works
It's a common issue that seems to be both affecting the wifi and cell network.
I'm not sure whether the issue is hardware related, or software. I'm thinking of restoring the iPhone using iTunes, but I'm not sure if it will back up everything like the Cell network settings and everything.iTunes creates and maintains a backup for your iPhone which is updated as the first step during the sync process. The backup includes iPhone settings including wi-fi network settings for each wi-fi network you have connected your iPhone with along with other data such as email account settings, contacts (which should be synced with a supported application on your computer), 3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app, photos/video in your iPhone's camera roll (which should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera), SMS/MMS, notes, and your selections under the various tabs for your iPhone sync preferences. This is not a complete list.
When restoring your iPhone with iTunes, there are two options. From your iPhone's backup, which is the default selection, or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup which must be manually selected. When selecting Restore, you will be prompted to update your iPhone's backup which you should do. Before doing so you should import any photos or videos in your iPhone's camera roll and sync your iPhone to update any data kept synchronized with a supported application on your computer such as contacts and calendar events.
If there is a problem with any of the data included with your iPhone's backup or a problem with the backup, restoring from your iPhone's backup will also restore the problem, but try this first. If no change, try restoring as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after that, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem. You can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby. -

Help, just had my iphone 3 but can't connect to wifi, i get as far as the password put in the correct password but it won't accept it, any ideas?? Thanks
What type of encryption are you using with your wireless network -WEP or WPA?
If your wireless router supports both which it should unless it is quite old and you are using WEP, try switching to WPA which is much more secure than WEP which is important if you have a Windows PC or any Windows based device connected to your network.
In addition, when was the last time you checked Netgear's website to see if there is a firmware update available for your wireless router model that you haven't installed? -

Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue--like a bad radio.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I can't connect to wifi network and bluetooth on iPhone 4S. Need help. Have already rebooted everything and reset network setting
I have the same problem; tried a phone restore, both restoring data and setting up as new phone with factory settings, reset all settings, re-boot, remove apostrophe, put in fridge, you name it!
I think there's quite a few iphone 4s users with the same problem!
I called Apple they said it's a hardware problem, but it has worked for nearly two years; they say go to the Apple store and they can provide a replacement phone for approx. £150!
I've been into the O2 shop where I bought it and they knew the problem exactly; said they had sent a few phones off for repair and had them back awith a report they cannot fix it because it's a software problem!
An assistant in the shop had the same issues; logic says it's a software problem and hopefully Apple will fix it with a patch but at the moment they seem to be avoiding everyones comments!
If anyone else has any ideas these would be appreciated? -

I have iPhone 4s wchick cannot connect on wifi, wifi is grayes out and says"No wifi",i restart my phone,i reboot it and finally i restore it the problem remains,i put it on a freezer for more than 5 minutes and works for 1-2 minutes, but when outside temperature returns on the phone still can't connect on Wifi!what to do?
Anyone having the same problem? My iPhone 4s its not 6 months old!Try restoring your phone usng DFU mode. Here are steps to get DFU Mode: Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer. (some turn off iPhone here, I do not) Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release power button, keep holding home button until iPhone recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes 10-20 seconds of holding the home button. If the iPhone screen is black (blank) the iPhone is in DFU Mode.

My iPod 5 can't connect to wifi. It connects to personal hotspots but no to my home wifi. I tried resetting the network settings but no change. I put the right password but it just keeps loading forever. What should I do??
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I hate the new operating system. Can't connect to wifi in home anymore even after a restore. Rhapsody no longer works on my phone either. Plus the brighth graphics are bothering my eyes even with brightness turned down. Any ideas on why rhapsody doesn't why rhapsody doesn't work anymore?
Contact Rhapsody to see if they have or plan to release an update for the app. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

Can't connect to wifi in hotels in Ireland with iPhone 5
Can't connect to wifi in hotels in Ireland with my iPhone 5. My iPad 3 works fine. When I enter the wifi password for the network I always get the error message "Incorrect password for XYZ". No problem with iPad 3.
Returned home only to find the same situation with my home network. Much time on chat support with Apple. Short story long: Must have been corrupted software. Had to restore original original software then add back apps and music. Couldn't back up before doing the restore so I lost a bunch of pics, but at least the phone is working once again.
